Carousel in Stockport

After a disappointing burger and the shockingly bad toilets that were flooded. One of our group who is particularly blind were asked to leave because the manager said the blind person is drunk after seeing linking arms. Utterly embarrassing we won’t ever be back. Very bad management.

Love this pub food is spot on, staff are super friendly.

Not been in the CARA for some 30 years, Sunday afternoon dinner, changed very little inside, huge patio, reasonable selection of beers, partner had Roast beef, came with all the trimming, except horse Radish, excellent portions. Fish (not greasy) & Fries (Chips), and mushy peas, fries portion on the small side, but ok. Cleanliness of table and chairs could have been better and food service could have been snappier.

The chef Steve cooked me and my family a meal it was very nice. We all felt very welcomed. This was my first time going here and I will definitely be going again!

Excellent afternoon watching Freddie Mercury. All 9 of us enjoyed our visit. Food was nice & service was great. All staff very pleasant & helpful. Manager was hands on running round making sure everyone was happy. Thank you all for a fun experience.

Came in with my son on his birthday and treated him to a dessert which was lovely our server Lee was very friendly and attentive.

What a great place, Lee was a legend sorting us out. Travelled 12,917 miles to see family from the Falkland Islands and the service I received from Lee was better than anything I’ve had before. When I’m next down this neck of the woods I’ll be coming back, just to see his smile.

Went to the carousel and had a lovely experience all thanks to Lee, I went with my boyfriend’s family and he made the experience a really good one. Thank you Lee.

A gent called Lee was on the bar when I arrived and was very pleasant and seemed very experienced, he asked about allergies which I had and took the appropriate action in finding me a dish that's suitable for my needs also the service was amazing! Thanks Lee and team.

came in yesterday's with my friends for food and a drink we enjoyed it that much we stayed for the quiz the manager cat told us that it was starting soon we will be coming back every Tuesday now! the food was to die for

Just moved to the area and found this hidden gem Came in with my wife and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food couldn’t fault it one bit you can tell the manager cares thank you to cat for making our visit more enjoyable

As we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Once again excellent customer service from Lee. The food was lovely.

Went in on a bank Holiday weekend and was pleased to find a place and order food. Our server, Lee, was excellent; drinks arrived quickly and the food swiftly followed. Food was delicious, cannot fault it!

Visited bank holiday weekend, it was relatively quiet but still had a good atmosphere! Nice cosy pub. Lee who served us was great! Very welcoming and attentive. He made our drinks quickly and they were lovely! Food was top notch and arrived fast. Highly recommend 5*.

Friendly staff. Plenty of screens for the footy, nice food, bar gets busy so could be more staff in busy times especially when the games are on

Replied to review bit had no intention to reply to the email sent over... very disspointing... if u click 1 star reviews amd have a read thru its very hit and miss if your have a nice experience or not.. ad definetly avoid... surley no one can be happy ordering a xl plate suppose to be double the size but receive the same size food just on a different plate be carful of that scam.. especially a week before it was twice the size.

Decided to come try the new menu and let me just say it didn’t disappoint, the jerk chicken sizzler was beautiful, wife stuck to her usual hunters chicken but we couldn’t be more impressed.

Payed for the xl mixed grill was informed after the menu had changed... was served same size as the normal mixed grill ... had become a regular up untill this point... the pub responded with an email to the complaint but then didn't reply..

Absolutely phenomenal 2 main meals for £12.49, I had the gammon, my partner had the lasagne Food was hot, perfectly cooked and a good size portion Extremely tasty Jamie, part of the staff, was extremely helpful, friendly and helped mafe us welcome, he went out of his way to ensure we received our food and in perfect order.. What can I say, we eat quite alot and the carousel is perfect

Service was appalling ordered steak flatbread when my food arrived it was a lamb flatbread I was told by the server that was what I ordered ! I don't eat lamb so why would I order lamb ???? Was then told that there was no steak so ordered the chicken. By this time everyone on my table had their food. Husband ordered the extra large mixed grill pineapple (which we were charged extra for and shouldn't have ) was missing as was the onion rings which were then brought out separately. Mixed grill was swimming in grease it was disgusting. I was not offered the a refund for the price difference in my meal. Asked to speak to the manager 3 times on the occasion I was told I had to email my complaint and it would be delt with still waiting.......... Very poor customer service from the manger looked very understaffed staff too busy chatting to each other and swapping between tills whilst taking the orders obviously no communication from the kitchen about availability of menu items one to avoid

Several items were not available on the menu and I ordered scampi it wasn't the best

I been coming to the quiz for the 12 years, I have always been treated with respect, the staff are always helpful and polite and lee is always he especially helpful every time

I really enjoy the atmosphere especially Friday Night's when Karaoke is on.

Good swift service and the staff were very friendly. It was nice food and very good server Tommy who was very helpful I will definitely come back again.

Firstly they didn't have a diet redbull which was on the drinks menu so I had a diet Pepsi and my partner had a glass of Sauvignon blanc. My glass smelled like wet dog and his glass had lipstick on the rim. Food wise I ordered the rump steak, rare, and asked for salad instead of chips. He ordered Rib eye, medium rare. The food took a really long time to come and I can tell why. The steaks were both quite overdone. My steak was actually quite nice , but it came with chips when I'd asked for salad instead . My partner hated his steak. For a start it wasn't Rib eye. He has been a butcher for 9 years and knows his steak like the back of his hand and he is certain he was given shoulder steak , it was full of sinue , and not seasoned. He left 80% of his food as the chips were cold and everything was covered in a sort of onion sludge. The cutlery was dirty and seemed to have animal hairs on it. They must have had the slapdash crew in today as I've always enjoyed meals from Greenking pubs before. This time was quite disappointing. As a side note there was what appeared to be snot on the walls in the gents toilet

Myself and friend come for the weekly poker night, great bunch of lads and a cheeky but one get one free burger.

Took an hour for two burgers and wings to arrive

I havnt been here for a few years because of a bad experience but it's got so much better, the food is always gorgeous and the staff are lovley and always welcoming, the new kitchen manager stephen is lovley and answered all my questions about our allergies,we will definitely be back!

Started making this our go to friday night as they have karaoke and 2-4-1 cocktails.

Had a great family meal, Stephen served us and was so polite and helpful, I had the extra cheesy mac and cheese and my daughter had the steak and ale, I couldn't believe how cheap it was when we paid, great value for money!

We have been going the carousel for sometime and over the last few months we’ve been doing the Tuesday tribute bands. We have had great fun and really enjoyed the acts. Meal is included….. what’s not to like!!!

Oh dear! A disastrous Christmas day lunch. Waited 2 and half hours. Only had starter. Manageress was understanding when we left, lack of staff. But we all(lots of people waited and gave up) should have been informed of this on arrival.

Good selection of food, good prices with plenty of deals , Tvs and pool table plenty of tables, free quiz Sunday afternoon. Staff are friendly an good towards are children offering colouring in etc

Friendly Staff and atmosphere, very accommodating at all times. We go for a regular bight out and are never disappointed!

Booked myself and the family in for Christmas Day as a treat. What a bargain it was. £51.99 for 4 courses, it was busy but that didn’t stop those working from giving us great service. The food all came out piping hot and the caramel salted dessert was to die for.

Food was very poor quality today. Spend over £50. Food arrived cold, not cooked to our preference. Coleslaw was shop brought you could tell the difference. Chef should be ashamed to send food out like that to paying customers. The waiting time to be served is slow due to lack of staff. Half the stuff on the meau wasn't in. Desert just arrived and was supposed to me warm it's stone cold. DON'T THINK I WILL BE COMING HERE AGAIN.

Had a great time here, the kids can struggle at times but the lad working (Lee I think) made sure they had a good time. He constantly checked in and made sure food came out in a reasonable time frame.

Booked for Christmas day lunch. Was very busy but we weren't informed that they were short staffed in kitchen. Sat for 2 and half hours and all we had was starter. People on next table had waited 3+ hours for dessert. So we gave up. Manageress was very understanding and apologised then told us of staff difficulties. We got refunded and a free meal at another date. Not the lady's fault but I think we should have been informed about long wait.

My friends and I had a meal here for a 30th, we all really enjoyed it, the steak flatbread was cooked perfectly already got a table booked for next week, the lady working was so polite and helpful!

Went for Xmas dinner, booked for the 1pm sitting, people packed in like sardines, sat on uncomfortable chairs at a table made for 1 but there were 3 of us, no Xmas decorations up, no Xmas music, it didn't feel like Xmas at all, didn't get our starter until way after 2pm, the soup was luke warm, then waited an hour for the main, cold chips, the steak was fine, there must have been at least 50 people sat in a small room and I only seen 1 person clearing tables/setting tables & bringing food to the tables, they obviously couldn't deal with the amount of people they were so unprepared, we were still sat at the table waiting for dessert at 4pm and at this point we seen lots of people leave so I decided enough was enough and made a complaint to I assume was the boss, she boxed our dessert up and told us we would get a refund of a third of what I paid, it was just a really bad experience for what should have been a good day, poor service warm food, long waits and not festive at all, pure greed was put before making sure paying customers got a good 3 course Xmas meal. Will never go back to this place.

The area where the pool table is is meant to be an over 18 area only my nephew is 17 and we always play pool there but were told we are not allowed to. As we were walking out there was a 3 year old in the area. We ordered food online and most of it was out of stock. Spoilt our food choice. Please look at this pub and staff. Revamp the food menu, compared to other greene king pubs the menu is ridiculous

Took the family for breakfast with Santa, and absolutely loved it. Enjoyed the food and the staff were great. The cooked breakfast really hit the spot. Lots of seating options.

It's OK no ales on again ......

Always love this place in the office the food is really good for the price. It’s hit and miss. Sometimes you can go and be waiting a very long time but others it’s okay. The atmosphere is also hit and miss if the regulars that are in sometimes it’s very rowdy And not a place to take children but other times it’s okay. We usually go here and use the office if there is a large group of us.

Had a meal with the missus, food was awesome, was served by Stephen, he was really helpful, helped my avoid allergies with a tablet, couldn't recommend enough, definitely be coming back!

Brought my daughter and grandchild, my grandchild has special needs and wasn’t too happy about being out the house. A huge thanks to Cat who helped with my grandchild so we could eat and then proceeded to keep him entertained and made our stressful situation a lot calmer, she provided stickers, colouring in and toys. It was really refreshing to her take the time with us.

Landlady (cat) was extremely rude. Even went on to slag one of the people I was with off to me. Then proceeded to make this an issue when returned at a later date thinking maybe she had a bad day and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Not professional in the slightest. The rest of the bar staff and kitchen staff are lovely and so helpful and make the place a welcoming and calm environment making you feel at ease.

Popped in for late lunch. Staff and service excellent. Toilets and baby changes need to be updated as they are unsafe.

Nice average food 👌, as managed they tend to throw you out as soon as possible at last orders. No snacks served behind bar crisps nuts ect .

There was a large party of us for a 60th. Some of my family can/were a little difficult but the barman (Paul I think he was called) was amazing. The food was great for the price and everyone left happy!

Came last night with the family for our annual get together. We always try to come here first cause the staff just go above and beyond. The food was hot and tasty and as usual the staff was on it and really friendly.
