Booked a table for a Birthday meal only to get there and signs on the door saying the kitchen is closed. Out of courtesy i would have expected an email or call to let me know this!

Need staff training,meant to be a Sports Pub and advertises live football then don't bother putting the sound on the TV and play loud dance music over it instead! Pretty basic stuff really! Need new landlord to sort this place out asap

In to watch match but no sound on TV and playing music over commentary instead,a few people asked for commentary to be put on but it was not done and the music wasn't turned off. No wonder so many customers don't bother with it now and go elsewhere,not a good pub to watch football in any more

Having ordered a seniorseal for myself and my wife we were served our first course reasonably quickly and it was very nice . However after approx 20 minutes I asked when our second course was due and was told " he's doing it now "I asked 10 minutes later to be told the same thing and after a further 10 minutes I asked for my money back as we could not wait any longger to be asked 'did I not want my main course "'The manager returned my money and gave an apology but it was a disappointing visit and although the prices are attractive the serviceleaves a lot to be desired This is not the first time we have had a disappointing visit and although we did write to the company we did notget any reply

Went for lunch with my Dad and Daughter, three lovely pub meals ordered, provided, and thoroughly enjoyed. Very reasonable, Dad chose from The seniors menu(good portions and great value), daughter had a build your own burger/chicken combo(mountain of food but ate it all) and I had the best pub matsu curry to date, and I've had a few

Went for a mothers day meal but it was far too noisy.

The drinks are a bit pricey to be honest but I guess that's inflation. The staff are great very friendly

We popped in for a quick lunch today and were surprised by how clean and well organised it is now. We had a bad experience here last year so we were apprehensive at best. What a change! The pub is clean and bright and the staff are pleasant and helpfull. The food was amazing and a total 180 from our last vist. We will try again and update this review, but overall what an anazing transformation.

We brought my elderly parents here on a quiet Monday for lunch to take advantage of the seniors offer. The pub was quite busy for 1pm but we still found a nice table. We were served by a nice man who advised us on the offer and how to order, he brought our drinks to our table. The service here is really outstanding for a small pub. The food was generously portioned and delicious. The pub itself is tired and in need of modernization but judging by the amount of people who were in the food and service seems to keep everyone coming back. The food and staff are quite amazing and we have already booked for next week. Thank you.

Amazing full menu with loads from kids menu to Sunday roasts and burgers. We came here and forgot it was the cup final, it was busy but we still got a table with no wait. Although I was worried for the kids it was a great atmosphere. The food was great for the price and the barman was so helpful. Altogether we had a great time and stayed later than we usually would because of the atmosphere. A great traditional pub for families.

We came for the cup final and had an amazing experience. Extensive drinks range with 5 shots for £5 and 3 baby Guinness for £5. Carlsberg £3.55! The Sunday roasts were on offer 2 for £11.99 and were huge. The place has been cleaned up and the staff were really helpful. Alot better than it used to be and better than most round here.

Totally unexpected. This little pub is an amazing gem for family food and a great night out. We came here on a busy Saturday expecting not to get a seat but the staff were amazing and got us a table for 8 and 4 kids in 10 mins. We all ordered food and even though the place was full we still got it all together and in 30 mins. The food was well cheap and for all 12 of us it only cost $85. The staff here are great and even though rushed off their feet they were so helpful. The drinks are Great too. Lots of cocktails! We came back in the night and it was a top night out. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great drinks. They show all the football as well. We are making this our regular.

Great Saturday food. Great service. Was told to come here to meet friends for lunch and am glad i did. It was a busy Saturday afternoon with the pub full of family's watching the football and eating. Service was great and although we had to wait 45mins for the food, when it arrived it was without fault. You will not find better value food for the family for miles. Staff are great and unlike the pubs around here seem to love their job and are happy to serve you. The pub is a little dated but the menu and choice of drinks are extensive with something for everyone, i can not recommend this pub enough.

I came to the george today for the first time for some food. The menu is amazing with 2 meals for 11.50 . The pub is nice and spacious and the customer service is the best for miles. Will and Liam looked after us today and we couldn't ask for better. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. Even the toilets were clean and fresh!

First ever visit to this large Greene King pub on a busy crossroads. Very much a TV bar plus a pool table and dart board. Large car park and some outdoor patio seating. Sadly only one of five handpumps available on this Friday afternoon. Luckily the Greene King IPA was on top form. A pint plus a pint of Madri for Casta came to £9.80. Very good pub food menu.

Went into this lovely little pub on the corner of Heaton Chapel as we heard about the quiz night that everyone been talking about and wow! What a fantastic night!! The bar staff shenice and nicky who were working were so lovely bring us our food and drinks, very polite and professional but fun to talk too. Yin the Host of the quiz showed us how to get onto the quiz and was helpful. Very funny with his running commentary. Great host and all round nice guy. and what an amazing quiz. Told us about the karaoke night there as we all Love that and will definitely be back. What a little gem this place is. Recommended. 5 stars

Came in here with a few of my mates to watch the footie and was pretty decent. Ordered some pub grub of the menu but had couldn't decide between all the options so we shared a few of the meals between us. No problems at all and the food came to us pretty quickly. Will definitely return for future matches, cheers guys :).

Great food, great price. We cane here for dinner on Saturday evening hoping for a table and were lucky to be seated immediately. Two meals for £11.50 and kids meals from £3.50. The portions were great, the burgers huge. The staff are happy to help and really go the extra mile. The pub itself is dated but clean, would totally recommend. We will be back next week.

Woke up Christmas day and felt the need for a quick tipple and to be social (they call me the grinch haha). As I walked in, it was generally well kept with the bar announcing its offers and cask. When I asked one of the barmen which casks were on, he explained that they only had their session IPA on and another named Rocking Rudolph because they had sold out of their others. Had two of the rocking and one of the IPA were good pints. Was a bit sad that I had to leave by half 4 but I suppose the staff wanted to enjoy their Christmas, although I noticed that the two gents who were on the bar were rushing to serve drinks whilst others were staring into the ceiling. I'll be back but they hopefully will have more casks to choose from. On to the next pub.

Nipped in for a quick bite to eat. Was very impressed with the value.for money of the food. Staff were wonderful, will definitely be visiting here again in the new year.

Great local pub / we went for a family meal from the Christmas Menu and I’m afraid the kitchen let us down - food was cold and way below the usual good standard of the bar menu - recommend ordering from the regular menu !

This was supposed to be a festive meal for a treat for my mother. All I can say was the food was dire I’ve had better from macdonalds in a third world country. Nothing festive about it the quality was awful as was the presentation. Even my dog stuck its nose up at it. Terrible slow service and out off loads off items ( I booked and paid a deposit ) first Barmaid said it’s not my fault and shot of when she. Couldn’t find my booking ? Took no ownership and was rude The lads did try help and were working hard but the food is dire and they didn’t even have most the shots we were going to buy as the food was so bad ? Total waste off money and a let down Nothing festive about it was substandard food and over priced for what it was Took over 2 hours Total let down

Great pub with good food, 2 for £11.50 on main meals. Good selection of drinks with cask ale. Amazing, friendly and helpful staff. The quiz night with DJ Yin is great fun and should not be missed.

Food was dire - potatoes were raw and the veg looked like it had been boiled for an hour. Service very slow, waited around 40 minutes for the mains which came out 5-10 mins apart, one of the plates had a hair on it. Most of our group barely touched the food but no one asked why when clearing the table. Mentioned this to the lady at the bar who offered to take the desserts off the bill (which turned out to be no better than the mains) but then didn't ask why I didn't touch my dessert when she took my plate away Wouldnt come back here for food

looking for a pub to eat in whilst in the area for a few hours. came across this pub. Very Friendly and helpful staff, they had an issue with the kitchen so food wasnt being served. They gave us the option to return with a takeaway if we wanted. we popped out , ate a burger then came back instead.

As always a great experience. A quiz which I am looking forward to and Shanice was very helpful and her service was brilliant. Five stars to Shanice

Good food, plenty of TV screens to watch football!

Parking was fine plenty of spaces, food was nice BUT anything we ordered they had run out of (beef, mash potatoes and other foods) or just did not order it in this is my second visit and we had the same problem NOT GOOD, but they where polite and pleasant but being a Green King pub should be more on the ball.

Family pub with amazing food, very good selection of food and drinks from 2 really good menus. Plenty to occupy the kids with activities. Staff were very pleasant and very polite and helpful. No problem was an issue. Food was really delicious,tasty and hot. The prices were also very reasonable. Would I visit again, I sure would.

Hannah is a great bartender with fast service and great customer service very friendly and nothing is ever too much to ask always goes out of her way to make sure everything’s perfect would highly recommend coming here for a drink or food, good prices fast service and lots of tvs for watching sport etc

Used to be a great pub always busy and well kept.The staff are nice and do there best but they are been let down by the Green King.It is sad to see the state of it now.Often deserted on Friday and Saturday nights which were always busy now many regulars have deserted the place. It is scruffy,smelly and dirty.The toilets are a disgrace,one of the gents toilets had been out of order for months now,there is paint and plaster falling off the walls in the porch,food is very hit and miss often many items on the menu are unavailable.It is in desperate need of a refurb but Green King seem to have lost interest in the place. This pub should be a goldmine ,lots of other little bars and restaurants close by are always busy so it is strange how Green King are just letting this place deteriorate.I fear that it may eventually shut down for good if something isn't done which would be disgraceful as GK would have ruined a once busy and successful pub.

What is going on. No food but menus still on tables. No wine glasses had to have red wine in gin glass. No John Smiths beer. Used to love this pub.

Booked a table today for 5pm for 6 people my parents arrived at 4:30 and staff let them know where the table was. We then asked for a children’s menu shortly after 5 When we went to order not long later there was hardly any options left for food, everything we wanted to order except most of the children’s meal were unavailable. We understand you can be busy but you had my email and my phone number you could have notified us that you had started to run out of a lot of options. When my parents came in at 4:30 you could have said about getting an order in quick as meals were running low. When we asked for the children’s menu again you could have said not all options were available but again this wasn’t said. I know it was busy and I would expect perhaps this to happen later of an evening but this was only 5pm?! Or if we had been asked to order ahead because it was going to be a really busy afternoon then that would have also been a good idea. When we came back in October it was the same hardly any menu which I thought was a one off but maybe this happens a lot? Staff are pleasant foods been nice when it is available in the past but I just think it needs a lot better organisation and planning and to think about how customers could be better catered for.

Went today to celebrate a family birthday. Food was absolutely 1st class. Well cooked, well presented. Great value for money. Shanice was our server today and she did an excellent job, there to see if everything was OK but not to intrusive. However i have to say all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Staff are friendly and the menu isn't at all bad. But the pub is badly in need of a big refurb. Been going in years and when leather seats are ripped and certain toilets are frequently out of order you know it's overdue money being spent on it.
