From a regular weekly Friday night customer to our local chippy. We love our chippy however twice now on 2 seperate ocassions we have had sausages that tasted awful and not been able to eat them. Dont know if they were out of date/old or its what they have been cooked in. Disappointed customer.

Been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. Moved out of the area and still drive over for chippy tea which we eat in the car regularly. Chips never greasy and fish is a good portion. Lovely friendly staff

Popped in for a chippy tea with my little boy and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were warm and accommodating, and the food arrived promptly. I asked for the fish to be lightly battered, and they were more than happy to oblige. The quality was excellent – fresh, crisp, and not at all greasy. My son, who’s usually quite fussy, ate everything. A really satisfying, well-prepared meal – far better than your average chip shop fare.

Our favourite place for a chippy takeaway. The meal deals are ideal as portions are smaller and not over.facing for smaller appetites. Food is of good quality and well presented.

Just nipped in on way home from a long day out as starving but will definitely be returned. Food amazing, service amazing, im a very happy customer

Used this chippy many times in the past and it’s been good!!!! Last night (06/03/25) my partner went and what she brought home was appalling. The portion sizes looked like a child’s portion. Barley any gravy on the chips peas and gravy! The fish had zero batter on it and the chips were pale, soggy and undercooked!! Needless to say, we will not be going back here again to eat. And baring in mind, it’s not cheap. Quality did not meet standards for the cost. Very disappointing!!!

Called in Sunday evening had large fish and chips and curry sauce take away. Chips cold and fish looked frozen it was a complete disaster for us.

Sunday tea time 20/10/24....... Bought a large chips & mushy peas, the chips were not a large portion unless you are a burrower & they were cold. The mushy peas were not mushy & were also cold.

Great fish and chips. Generous helpings and all the traditional items.

Absolutely garbage , the cheese and onion pie had rock hard pastry . The cheese itself was awful . It’s what happens to days old products . Never eat there again

Food is good but we are disappointed. We have been many times before and eaten in the restaurant. We came here yesterday to eat in and were told that was no longer an option. Please change your signage that says "restaurant".

Travelled 40 minutes to this supposed restaurant and it had no high chair for my toddler. Why have a sign saying restaurant if you don't have one?

Used to be a lovely chippy but last night it was awful. The chips were old looked like and tasted as though they had been re heated. The cod was so thin with a dark line going through it, batter was chewy. Not nice at all.

Have been coming here for years for an eat-in meal. Devastated that eat-in service has been terminated.

Great service and excellent quality food

No issue with the service or atmosphere but the food was below average- fish was nothing special, chips were terrible- cold, tasteless and very dry. Gravy also tasteless but curry sauce was nice

This lovely family run place of 50 years is the best chippy in Cheshire, fantastic fresh fish not frozen and fresh pies ,brilliant prices for great food nothing here is greasy,,They have a little side restaurant popular with walkers and locals, they have free parking,,dinner time deals are a big winner 🏆

Just plain fish & chips. Nothing better after United have lost 0-3 and you arrive back at Fiveways soaking wet. This area is blessed with 3/4 top quality chippies but I like here best

Never disappointed when myself My wife and son come here, best chippy around the fish is cooked to perfection the chips are soft and fluffy and not dripping with grease the staff are kind and friendly and can have a conversation with them, we always recommend to our friends and family it is that amazing.

One of (if not the) best chippys in stockport, food is great lovely fish either cod of haddock cooked to perfection, chips are well cooked not soggy but nice and crispy, staff are friendly and helpful, not got to wait to long for your order(like most chippys you wait a little longer if you order fish) but overall no complaints whatsoever.

We ordered the value cod,chips,peas and bread and butter with pot of tea. And we were not disappointed. Excellent battered fish with a nice crisp bite. Chips fresh and fluffy and to complete the meal we had the homemade apple and pear crumble and custard. I would highly recommend it.

Whilst I appreciate costs have risen substantially and businesses are struggling - however some price hikes seem difficult to justify. Chips and Gravy £3.90. With a ladle of not very much gravy at £1.50! Peas £1.50. Consumers will vote with their feet OR at the very least make a jug of gravy at home. There appears to be a theory that you can hike prices by 30-40% and if you only lose 25% of your customers you are still better off - this is deeply flawed and will not increase the chances of survival only hasten a demise.

This is the greatest chippy in the world. Clean fresh and just simply the best. You will not get better Chish and Fips anywhere else. Jules xx Hazel Grove.

This is the best Fish and chip shop/ restaurant that I have ever been in. Called in for a traditional fish and chip tea. Ate in the restaurant. Everything was perfect. Excellent food, immaculately clean. Great welcome from Kerry the owner. Nothing was too much trouble. High standards all round.I loved it. Will definitely spread the word and will be visiting again soon. Amazing. Thank you Kerry.

Great Chippy and they have the option to dine in with about 5 tables. Really nice food all round, fish was cooked to perfection. Kids loved they got a scoop of ice cream for their dessert.

This takeaway fails the spam fritters test. If you advertise spam fritters then please actually use spam, hint spam is square not round. Decently thick but very greasy. 3/10 for the unknown meat fritters. Chips not bad and okay portion size but very expensive for a chippy. Was hoping this one would be better, its perfectly positioned as you leave the peaks. The search for the perfect spam fritter continues....

The fish was really fresh and not greasy. The waitress was friendly and the restaurant was light and airy with a good few regulars. We will go back.

Pensioners lunch on Wednesday. We had a table saved. Took us half an hour to get there but so worth it. Wonderful food and Kerry is so lovely serving you. Nothing too much trouble. Clean bright place to sit. The Haddock was gorgeous, chips brilliant and real mushy peas. Homemade crumble amazing. Thank you all for making our special trip out. Will see you again soon. Lynda. Went at lunchtime, and had the traditional Fish, Chips and mushy peas. They were fabulous, certailny the best in the area.

18 of us had lunch here yesterday. Fish and chips,bread and butter, cup of tea and a dessert. Food and quality excellent. We were well looked after by Kerry. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks again.

The best chippy in town I wouldn’t eat fish and chips anywhere else, food is always hot and tasty we always walk away with a full belly every time. Friendly staff and a free smile with every service never been disappointed. Keep up the good work.☺️👍

Really disappointed with tonight’s chippy tea. Never had an issue before and not changed our order but tonight we had two cod fish that looked really thin for cod, we rung them to make sure and found out the fish they buy in has changed so is more of a ‘chewy’ texture (word described by staff member) wouldn’t normally fault but shouldn’t even had a fishy smell. Frozen than fresh.

Quiet in restaurant, but very busy in shop. Food good. Service spot on. It's accolades are well deserved.

The best fish and chips we've had in ages! Really fresh, the fish was superb. So pleased we stopped off on the spur of the moment....will definitely be back.

My wife and I visited the cafe for the first time last night. The food was great (including the fruit crumble for 'afters' ) The staff were so polite and friendly. It will be our 'go to' chippy from now on.

Service was exceptional, Kerry was a phenomenal host, lovely and personable. I’d 100% recommend this place and if you haven’t been you should. 10/10

Had this chippy the first time last week, how I've never had it in the 3 years of working in Hazel Grove is beyond me. Clean,fresh and absolutely delicious. Going back today for my dinner.

Excellent for food & it was the first time being at five ways, forbgfood that day church tuck us out to a steam trains day out, after the went too five ways me & mum had a lovely day at five ways.

Best fish and chips I've had, rarely order a fish from a chippy as the batter is usually grim but this is the best batter ever , really thin and crispy no stodge , amazing.

The staff are really friendly but their chips portions are small, they forgot the curry sauce and the batter on the battered sausage peeled off the paper so might as well of just got a normal sausage

Food was nice. Though portions were smaller than most other places for a similar price. Gravy was lovely. I would question the ordering and serving process as we had to wait nearly 20 mins for a pie, sausage chips and gravy all were ready in the display case. But fish weren't ready. The process seems to be that the queue is served in order even though some food wasn't ready.

One of the nicest chippies in Stockport, always fresh pleasant staff, quick even at busy times, I have never had anything less than excellent from this place highly recommended

Cod & chips from here is better than most other chip shops.

Disappointing is an understatement. Saw some good reviews and when we arrive it was reasonably busy so expected good things. The chips were so soggy, barely cooked, still white. The fish both cod and haddock tasted not fresh and so thin it was like an escalope, I’m not sure what had happened to it for it to look like that. The mushy peas were the worst I’ve ever eaten and had weird white bits in them, disgusting. Curry sauce was okay, the best part of the meal. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who likes good fish and chips and will not return.

For me I think it is over rated and over priced. Yes it's clean and the staff are friendly but Surely that is the minimum you expect. The food was ok but compared to other places I have tried I would not rush back.

Cant get better gear for miles around

Soggy chips and microwave pie. Not good. Chips were not close to cooked nicely, nor was the pie. The chips it seems were cooked in like warm oil and the pie been warmed up and cooled down for the last 3 days.. Soggy pastry but dry inside

It's alright, same as any other really, Stockport chippies do like a "firm" chip, if you do too fill your boots, personally I like them properly cooked and soft all the way through

Ordered small chips and gravy with a barm. All I can say is it was a good job I ordered the barm. There's a small portion and one taking the mick, there wasn't even enough chips for the size of the barm. Needless to say not a happy bunny for the money.
