Good service & good venue to watch football

3 of us went today to try the Sunday roast and was not disappointed everybody around the table enjoyed it very much so compliment to the chef and staff and would definitely recommend

Fantastic pub. No idiots, which is rare these days. Great service.

Last 2 occasions, couple of years ago, wasn't impressed with the food. Thought would try again, last Saturday evening, wow, must have a new chef, I had fish ,chips and mushy peas, possibly the best I've ever had!! Was fabulous! My partner had Hunter's chicken, with skinny fries, which she loved. Thank you so much. Only 4 stars, drinks were expensive, compared to pub across the road. Would highly recommend the food.

The food is surprisingly delicious, and we all love the atmosphere! Friendly staff and great service. We will definitely be back again. It’s a pity that England didn’t win the match today, what a shame… 🔥

Family meal ,6 of us.. Service with professionalism from Ebony, she was very polite with a smile and engaged my 2 young grandaughters who thought she was fabulous. Food was lovely and arrived hot and extremely tasty. However, whilst at the bar ordering drinks , another member of staff , female , young with gingery hair, said "I'm going outside for a smoke" . Another member of staff a young male seemed to be very work shy and stood about Scowling at people. Thank goodness Ebony saved the day.

Welcome range of five Hyde's cask ales. We took refuge in here from a thunderstorm and sadly the roof was a bit leaky. It was very busy probably due to United being on the telly and the atmosphere slightly subdued as Arsenal had beaten at Old Trafford (🤗). Despite the leak it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience in an area seemingly devoid of great pubs.

First time visiting as seen the new menu on social media. Lovely clean pub aswell as staff made us feel welcome. We decided to have the meatballs for starters and the seabass noodles which were amazing compliments to the chef. Definitely be back to try some new dishes

Absolutely terrible meal veg not cooked and chicken was rubbery , thought we’d give this place a try,first and last time we’ll go to the old plough.

Three of us arrived here mid-afternoon, tired and hungry. The place was lively and busy. Despite this, we were quickly served with a most satisfying meal and drinks. Well prepared and presented, portions of a size to satisfy any appetite. A comfortable, cheerful hostelry in the heart of a pleasant little community. Well worth a vist.

The Old Plough provided an excellent place to meet up with a group of friends for a meal. The Hydes ales are excellent. The varied menu was good. The service was excellent. Parking easy in the dedicated car park. Twenty percent off the bill for seniors with a Hydes card made it even better.

Great atmosphere, live bands and reasonably priced, a real local group and welcoming. Love this place, dogs welcome too which is a real bonus for us when we want to take our girl out 🥰🐶

We decided to have the same meal, steak pudding, chips, mushy peas & gravy. It was fantastic we both really enjoyed it. We want to thank the chef, it was well worth buying it. We really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Me and my family visited just before Christmas. I hadn’t been in The Plough for a very long time as I don’t live locally anymore. When we arrived it was very quiet; it was still early for lunch. The pub was very well decorated for Christmas with a lovely tree; it felt welcoming and warm. Maybe the fires being lit would have been a bonus. All staff who greeted us were friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food; to be honest I had no real expectations. The food arrived and it was excellent; I had fish and chips; well cooked, crispy batter and lovely chips! The other guests were really happy with their choices. As we were eating the pub got busy and the atmosphere was lovely. All staff we met were professional, helpful and guess what….. happy - a rare thing these days! We saw the chef walking through and he was well presented and again looked happy 😊 Overall a great experience and highly recommend !

More of a local's pub with a good atmosphere tends to get quite busy at the weekends. Great beer garden in the summer. Hyde's pub with some good guest beers, large wine and gin selections. Food served on a daily basis, from bar snacks to 3 course meals at reasonable prices. Shows all major sporting events.

the 1 young FEMALE bar staff with glasses is one of the most miserable people i’ve ever met.

Had a get together with the girls for our annual Christmas meal, 3 course's, absolutely delicious food, every course was perfect, hot and a great choice on the Christmas menu, staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble, so a big thank you to the chef for amazing food and the staff for looking after us, highly recommend, a merry Christmas to you all x

Gave a low score due to the pub being cold and the food not very good, I took my elderly mother for a meal and she was cold due to no hearing and we both did not enjoy our meals, my steak pie was overcooked and the gravy was very salty and mum did not enjoy her fish and chops, which was very disappointing.

8 of us had lunch together yesterday. The food was excellent and served very quickly. The service couldn't have been any better. Lorraine, the Manager and her assistant were very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

Last night I visited The Old Plough for dinner with several ex colleagues We couldn’t have wished for a better time Louise took my telephone booking and she was so friendly on the phone and when we arrived she was there to show us to our table and take our orders She was so courteous, friendly and professional Thank you Louise for going the “extra mile”

Popped in for some lunch, stake and ale pie for me chicken wrap for the other half. Really nice food, lovely place inside and much bigger than you may think. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Cant fault it.

The food is amazing, staff are friendly and atmosphere is welcoming. The main menu and the roast dinners are exceptionally delicious which we go back for every Sunday.

The place looked grubby and tables sticky. Sat upstairs which was better. Ordered steak sandwich which went back as full of gristle. Changed order to cheese which was grated, sat on a lettuce leaf with ploughman's pickle and served on a microwaved ciabatta, didn't look appetising or taste that good. Friends hot turkey was just that, no salad. Not worth the price and won't be going back.

Initially walking into this pub, it looked quite a nice place, we sat and checked the menu to find out if they catered for my daughter who has special dietary needs. we went to the bar to order and the young girl taking the order was clearly not paying attention and missed a meal choice as she was entering it on the system, then again when she did not listen when we said all choices to come together which resulted in my ploughmans arriving 10-15 minutes later which baffled me for a meal that is cold, but then i discovered they had warmed the pate making it look like cat food, not nice! the to add insult the ham was just thin packet ham squares that looked like it was fom the local supermarket. For a £10 meal, it was shocking, all in all, the whole meal looked cheap and nasty. I complained to the bar staff when she came to take the plates, she just said sorry and scuttled off to the kitchen. the general "cant bothered attitude" spoilt our lunch.

Usually come here for a few pints but today saw the roasts and decided to try it. Food was delicious, plenty of every item and you can tell it’s homemade. The beef was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of it and the yorkies were to die for. Will be eating here when I come in for a pint now, best price in the village for a home made cooked dinner

Sunday family dinner, we had the roast, the signature burger and the steak. Typical pub grub. Emma the landlady was great and good service from Matt. Bar staff excellent too, big shout out to Evan and his boyish floppy hair!

The staff here are very good, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the pub is always really good with a good selection of beers and ale.. Unfortunately, the food was poor. I had a Sunday roast. The meat was very chewy, the roast potatoes were undercooked, and there was excess water on the plate from the vegetables that I needed to soak up before I could attempt to eat. Fair to say I left most of my food. My sons meal was just as poor.

Really disappointed in the food and price. I had fish and chips so wasn't included in deal. I was most disappointed in the extras that I paid for. £1.75 for the worst curry sauce I have ever had and £1.75 for two triangle of cheap bread advertised as a crusty bloomer!! So wish I'd have gone to the fat laof that would have not cost anymore than what I paid in the end. The bar and drinks are fine I just won't eat there again!

When you witness great care of a team from a manager, it's well worth shouting about. On todays visit to The Old Plough, it happened to be 31° c the hottest day of the year so far. I watched and listened as Emma took her time to make the decision to close the kitchen to protect her kitchen staff from sweltering temperatures. Check in with her bar staff to ensure they were staying hydrated and remind them of the much needed ice lollies she had made available to keep the whole team cool. Wow what a great leader showing so much care for her team. Luckily i was able to order food before the closing of the kitchen and my fish and chips was delicious. I wouldn't guess that the chef that cooked my meal was in a literal oven himself. Thank you to the whole team.

Provided great location, food and beer, following a remembrance and committal service for our Dad and Mum.

Say they serve food till 9pm (called ahead to double check) . Got there at 8pm to be told they had stopped serving around 7ish. Went back again and the vegan options were appaling. Over a tenner for some Cauliflower

We have just enjoyed an impromptu lunch at the Plough, I had the steak and my partner had the all day brunch. The food was wonderful!! The steak was done medium rare on request and was absolutely lovely. We really enjoyed our visit, service is excellent and the food was fab, thank you to the Plough team!

Very disapointed, waited 40 minutes for meal, then when asked for an update was told the printer machine failed to put orders through to the kitchen (ok, machine error) But wouldnt you think alarm bells would ring when zero orders came though? When the meal did eventually arrive it was a real dissapointment. Zero presentation, it looked like a kids meal. Wolud be very reluctant to visit again, or even recommend.

We've visited the pub a few times recently and have always had a positive experience. The staff are always friendly and hard working. Most recent visit was New Years Eve. Thanks Emma, Jake and the team for a great night.

We had our Xmas dinner here (on Xmas day!), the food was amazing and the service was absolutely incredible. Staff were obviously working so hard but everything went smoothly and they were all lovely. 11/10, would massively recommend this place :)

So disappointed with the lunch served to us today. The fish pie was over cooked burnt on the edges & dried up. 3 of us had the fish pie & one had spam which was ok. We have previously had great food but not today & it wasn’t even busy. The waitress deserves 5 star as one of our guest has had a stroke & he had sat down at the wrong table & had tried to get his wallet out. We moved tables & she asked if we had lost any money as she had found £40 where he had been sat. It lovely to know there are some honest people about.

I'm sure that the whole Ainsworth clan enjoyed this most recent wake of ours, and I was particularly impressed by how accessible the whole building was (well the ground floor, as I don't have the new improved Dalek flying upgrade as yet😆😉). Another lovely meal here, have been a few times now and chosen different ones from the menu. Each one has been an excellent standard.

Good range of beers, good range of food on menu and reasonable prices. Enjoyed our visit and will be back.
