We came last week to try out the new menu and the food was amazing. Mel and Clayton's customer service as always, was lovely. Love coming to the farmers anyway, but now adding the new variety to the menu, we will definitely be coming for food more often and looking forward to trying more foods.

We come here most Thursday lunch times on our day off. Today we tried the new menu. The food was lovely. We always come here as its perfect for a quiet relaxing afternoon drink and it's really local to us. They do a great pint of Guiness too.

Popped in yesterday with my Mum as a last minute option in between appointments. After having the mankiest food at the Royal Sovereign the week before & leaving a scathing review regarding that horrid experience, I felt to put the same energy into it when I have been pleasantly surprised. The food was LOVELY! I didn’t even know this pub served food 😂 Flavoursome, good little variety, priced well, presented even better - plus side, the staff cared about our experience & came to check we actually enjoyed it!!! Great customer service, which I’ve recently become aware isn’t the standard. There aren’t many local pubs that have a nice relaxed vibe & decor, GOOD food, great outdoor space AND fantastic staff. Both my mum & I were very impressed!! They are just undertaking a menu revamp, but i will definitely be returning to sample it with my little family. I highly recommend giving it a try 10/10

Beautiful and very welcoming from all the staff, brought our Auntie in for a fantastic meal which she really enjoyed. We love the food as we make this a regular place to visit for food or a drink. Thank you again Mel and Clayton and the chefs for a lovely lunch. Gillian and Martin Snape

I work away during the week and the farmers is my go to place at the weekend, the staff are very friendly and polite. I always have my dinner there as the food is great. The entertainment on a Saturday night is disco/karaoke which has a cracking atmosphere

Just wanted to have a nice meal with my husband before returning to work after the Christmas break so popped into a local. Ordered a steak and ordered a medium one . It was shocking, cold and so well done I could barely get my knife through it , peas were cold too . I never complain but it ruined our evening. I did mention it to a member of staff on leaving and she was so nice about my experience however I will not be recommending anyone there for food . I spent £11 on a small portion of chips . Going home now to make myself something to eat 😔

Warm and welcoming pub, gets very busy when football is on but can always find a table, good choice of meals on the menu, reasonably priced, they do a delicious sticky toffee pudding, Car park at rear with an outdoor TV, beer garden at the side, a sun trap in summer. Definitely recommend.

Return to an old haunt was dissappointed by what we found not only in the pub but the whole area. Made me feel sad that so much had changed

Best pub in the local area, the staff are so friendly and caring. It's always very clean, the beer is fantastic and they can't do enough for dogs either. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the entertainment is incredible, it's the centre of the local community, can't recommend it enough.

Lovely atmosphere, staff are always polite and helpful and go above and beyond to help. Food was fresh and tasty only thing that could make it better is a change of menu more often. Being able to bring the dog with us was great, as they provide water and treats. Definitely be back

Very poor and inconsistent service. I have been there numerous times for drinks and food and never got asked for identification. Went one Saturday night and they wouldn’t serve me as I had no ID. They served me loads of times. (I am 28) by the way. I hate places that are not consistent with the rules and regulations. Sickening. Very poor service, so it’s ok one day to have a pint and not another ?????? 👎🏻 I am also a local, but will not be returning due to poor standard of service and inconsistency.

Said was a real ale pub .only sold John smiths .said was a lovely cheerful landlady .Was the most miserabelist weirdest rude 'Thing ' behind the bar .who didn't smile ...said was dog friendly.was told to go to other bar where there was loads of banging from upstairs ..Glad it was just a toilet stop ..not even sure if they even did food .

New to area, Never visited before, felt very welcome. Very clean pub and everyone was really friendly. Decided to have food and my children can be fussy with food and the chef came and spoke to me about alternative options available to suit my children, she was really pleasant and helpful. Will be returning very soon.

The pub itself is lovely but the food was terrible! We had the Sunday roast, beef, chicken. Frozen potatoes, Frozen veg, Frozen everything. Cold when it came out! Just bad 👎

The food here is shocking, we had 2 roast chicken dinners and 2 beef dinners, everything on the plates was terrible!! You could have beaten the beef off the wall it was so tough and the chicken well it had died multiple deaths. All the veg, potatoes yorkie pudding out of the freezer. Easily one of the worst meals I have eaten in a very long time, they used to do a great Sunday roast alas this is no longer the case. Very dissatisfied 😒

Very nice local pub. Traditional pub food - I love the sizzling platter menu. They do John Smiths 🍺 they have well located TV screens for sports. Toilets were in good order. I saw people playing darts (can’t remember if I saw a pool table.) staff were friendly & I didn’t wait long for service or for my meal to arrive. Victoria park opposite, which is lovely for a walk after your meal. Popular with dog walkers. They have an outside area undercover with tables too. Limited parking though, I think there is only 5 spaces. Over all though, very pleasant if you enjoy the pub experience.

Me and my friends go on Wednesday nights for the pub quiz and darts and it's always fun and a laugh. Would recommend!!

Great beers and great service. Food isnt bad for a small pub. I would recommend it. Came in Christmas day with a party or 9. Food was fantastic, service was superb and the atmosphere was a pleasure. We'll worth a visit and there going in the right direction of being 1 of my local haunts

Ordered mix grill gammon too salty, sausage was ok, no chicken breast instead got 2 tiny chicken wings?? Chips were ok but why would we want salad on a mix grill?. Ordered hunters chicken baguette with chips and Southern fried chicken baguette with chips, again chips ok, baguettes were burnt, chicken chewy and didn't taste like chicken, and drowned in BBQ sauce. Had two pints of carling which wasn't the best.

Had my Dad's wake here last week. The service and atmosphere were spot on. Staff were friendly and considerate. Food was outstanding, it was hot, there was plenty and all cooked and tasted delicious. Intend to visit again soon, for a happier reason. Thank you

Love this pub but had food in here last Tuesday, we had to send it back after one bite, it tasted of fumes, we wasn’t offered a refund for the 3 meals that wasn’t eaten, we was given a free drink, the day after we were all poorly, such a shame, the food used to be nice.

In a word rubbish burger was dry ,the bun at best was not fresh, chips was oven chips and not very good ones at that . Would not recommend the place or go there again 😞

Friendly pub but food all fried so not much to choose if you don't like that. They do small portions and kiddies meals. Prices are reasonable, some cheap.

Went to the farmers arms for food and it was so nice and worth the money. The staff are lovely and polite as are the landlords. I will definitely be back and I would recommend the pub to others. They even do a quiz on a Wednesday night which is a right laugh.

Food here was top notch. I chose the chippy dinner which had so much food on the plate. Fish, chips, battered sausage, bread... All at a reasonable price. I want to go again soon so that I can have that meal again!

Came here last Saturday with husband and son. We bought drinks and was planning on having food.I didnt buy my son a coke as he had half can of coke left from a school fair we went to. The young girl behind the bar said the manager has informed her to tell us no cans allowed , i understand nothing should be brought on the premises but i wont buy him a coke at this point when hes still drinking and i was planning on buying him a drink anyway and obviously food. Looking back i should have gone elsewhere as this seemed so petty and my sons a nine year old child.Didnt see the manager but was obviously watching us on cctv, nothing better to do!. If management has changed recently this pub is certainly not child friendly. The food was lovely the chicken combo. Thanks to the young lad who gave me sweets for my son when i lost a pound in the sweet machine. If this attitude is like this with families avoid.Wont be back anytime soon disappointing.

The place just isn’t the same after Tracy and Red left. It’s become a bit of a dump, standards have totally dropped and the atmosphere has totally changed. The place feels too crowded with larger tables and the bar always looks dirty and full of glasses. Think I’ll be looking for a new local 👎🏼

The Farmers Arms is our local pub and we couldn't ask for a nicer place. It's gone through some tough times and a change of management, but always has a good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. They've been showing the Women's euros matches recently which has been great and generally I've never had a bad experience there.

Nice enough place to sit and have a drink with friends. I've been back a couple of times and would go again. Toilets are clean and staff are friendly. Odd thing is they stop serving food really early. We arrived at around 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon and they had already finished. Nice drinks though and write a cosy place to sit. They have a piano of you want to play. No parking to speak of available on site, but plenty of street parking around about.

We went for a family Sunday lunch to this pub twice a few months ago. Not many of us live locally any more but my Mam was in a (great) care home nearby (Fountains). The care and consideration of the Farmer's staff was exemplary given the circumstances of our visits and they couldn't have done more to make us as comfortable as possible. On our second visit, two of my lads played piano for their Grandma for the last time, each getting a round of applause from the locals. These are bittersweet memories of course, but treasured nevertheless. The beer was great, the food was great. If the people that run the Farmer's read this, I'd like to say 'thank you'. To everybody else, I'd like to say 'go there'.

Far too noisy unable to have conversation, building is lovely but need to bring back to a pub where people can meet, have conversations without having to shout.

First time in the Farmers Arms even though we drive/walk past all the time and keep saying we should call in. So glad we decided to go last night. We had a brilliant time. We was only going to have a few drinks then move on to different pubs but it was so good with the DJ and karaoke that we decided to stay all night. Brilliant atmosphere with everyone singing and dancing. Fantastic night, will definitely be returning soon. Thank you to the lovely staff too.

This was not a good day at the Farmers. We had booked for meal and hadn't been notified that the kitchen was closed. On arrival the person behind the bar said she was sorry but unfortunately hadn't contacted me, myself and seven others had to quickly fined somewhere else to go. It was a birthday lunch and most ot the group was on public transport. Prior to that day we had been in and it was fantastic.
