wonderful pub with a great ambience.. huge outside seating area.. steak and wine meal onion rings and salt and pepper chips was superb.. staff well mannered and polite.. defo will return..

Met up with some school friends in Irlam. Sat in the back area overlooking the canal. Food was nice, drinks reasonable and service very good. Everyone had a lovely few hours there. Will definitely be back at some point. Thank you ❤️

This place is great for meeting up with friends and having a bite to eat, lovely atmosphere and the staff are smashing, lots of food discounts, different days, different discounts, food well cooked and presented, love the chips.

This is my usual place to go for lunch and tea and the food never ever fails, it is always hot and tasty as we have never had a bad meal from here. I decided to book here for my birthday meal with a party of 27 people ! The food was 10/10 and service was great , food came out and it was piping hot and tasty and the staff were really helpful ! I definitely recommend

Nice place but food is very overpriced for what you get. The burgers are basically just cheap takeaway burgers. Id even compare it to a rustler burger. Not fresh just cheap frozen patties. The fries are unseasoned and a little soggy too. Other food is very small portions for high prices. Salt and pepper tray is small but very tasty.

Had a wonderful visit to the Boathouse with friends, children, and a dog. We sat outside in the garden/play area, and food arrived quickly and was delicious. Staff were welcoming and kept on top of empty plates, etc. Lovely atmosphere and great value for money.

Nice looking pub, friendly staff but unfortunately the beer was absolutely dreadful and for the high price you would except better. Also the table was that wobbly you had to sit in exactly the right place to try and balance it. A real shame as this could have been a hidden gem.

Really tasty meal and first class service

Booked a table for 8 adults and 4 children, just two of our party ordered starters which were fine. Everybody else had finished their mains whilst the other two were still waiting for theirs 45 minutes later. i went to the bar to cancel the food just as a waitress came over with it. I told her that we all expected to eat together. At that point she went and discussed it with some big guy behind the bar. She then came back and said she could either take the food away and give a refund or tough luck eat it. We decided to eat it. Mine was ok, my son's which we had paid an extra £2.50 for prawns was disgusting, all dried up sauce and to add insult just 3 prawns!. The big guy behind the bar then came and stood over us intimidatingly whilst we were eating. His atitude was disgusting and it was basically my fault for ordering starters!. He bellowed over the table at me, no apology, no sorry, just pure intimidation, I am 64 years old and very quiet. I. have never felt so scared and embarrassed eating a meal in my life, my son left his. This pub is a no no for my family now, they were all totally disgusted. I am still not sure if he was the manager or a local so called heavy boy but he needs to learn some decorum and manners if at all possible and not behave in such a threatening manner towards a pensioner or anybody else.

Great modernisation programme. Food is brilliant. I had the rump steak with chunky chips and peppercorn sauce but why no vegetables? Finished with a slice of Eton mess cheesecake! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Unfortunately all our group drew a short straw on steak quality - they were all quite gristley.

Good spot for drinks and to catch up, warm, welcoming and friendly service. The pace is slow and you can have a conversation without being too loud.

What an amazing little Pub/restaurant. Came with friends and was presented with the besy mixed grill i have ever eaten. The meats where tender and delicious and the meal was 5 * Restaurant presented. If your ever in Manchester thus amazing little pub restaurant set next to what used to be the river irlam is a gem.

The food here is always lovely. And the beer garden / play area is perfect for children when the weather is nice! One of our favourite pubs!

I have been here several times for different things such as breakfast, lunch and tea. Also for an evening of cocktails. Food always great, atmosphere always lovely and bar staff excellent.

Went for Sunday lunch, which was nice. Plenty on the plate. Needs extra gravy which is free so ended up with plenty.

First time at this pub, lovely dog friendly pub , nice atmosphere, food value for money for what you pay, waitresses very attentive . My only criticism about this pub is certain clientele, there was a football match on and the disgusting language coming from the other side of the pub was absolutely disgusting, I was sat in the conservatory and people with children were horrified, I did not have any children but the behaviour from around the screens watching the football was despicable, management in my eyes should of asked them to leave and go to a more suited pub for them like a legion or working man's club, this is a lovely little pub with good food spoilt basically by bad clientele, I would of given 5 stars for atmosphere otherwise

We had the sirloin steak and chips on a Groupon, but we would have paid full price. The steak was delicious and the house wine was lovely. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. There is a great atmosphere too.

I run a cycling Group over in Urmston (Urmston Social Cycling) but am Irlam born and bred myself! I've brought groups of cyclists over to The Boathouse on lots of occasions for both lunches and evening meals and never been disappointed! However, today I'd only booked a table for a speculative group size of 8 but 14 people turned up for the days ride! Changing the booking with just 90 mins notice was no trouble whatsoever and the service was just spot on! Fabulous food as always and despite those within the Group all ordering individually the food arrived within minutes of each order. Every time I bring a group of people over from Urmston there's always a few new people who didn't even know that The Boathouse existed, even though it's just the Manchester Ship Canal that divides Salford and Trafford at this point! You're getting a bit of a fan base on the other side of the water now! Keep up the small plates though - whilst some of our Group manage a main course, many prefer something a little lighter before heading back out on their bikes! We'll be back.......

What an amazing place located next to the entrance of Roberts Park. A short walk from Saltaire's train station and to the wonderful Salts Mill cultural centre. Food prices are affordable and tasty, the views of the River Aire are picturesque from its windows. Today we were lucky enough to meet Alison, who is a kind and great host, she will make you feel immediately welcome and comfortable. No wonder why this place is always on high demand. Very well set up, clean and providing excellent service. Thanks!!!

Neat and tidy, food ok, barstaff polite and friendly, beer ok but £3.20 for a pint of lemonade daylight robbery.

Ho my gosh first time having Christmas dinner out .not very good . Nothing special .they for got to put Roast potatoes on the plates .the staff found it hard to bring food getting past the people at the bar. And waiting for the food .and we could not get to the bar are selves to get are own drinks .it would have been nicer if they only had the bar open to people eating .and Christmas dinner music playing .and maybe the staff can take drinks orders from us .it's just one day a year to make people feel its Christmas. Not just about making money . just an ordinary day .the food needs to be presented better .. when you spend a lot of money on a family for one day a year you won't it to be special .. hope this will help you improve it ....

Visited on Sunday 10/12/23 with family. Ordered the 3 meat roast and it was excellent, couldn’t fault any of it. The service was very good as well, would like to visit more often but it’s a £12 taxi ride from where we live so makes it more expensive. Worth it every now and again though….

Ended up at the boat house twice this week. It was the perfect place to meet up with old friends and to grab a bite to eat. The food was lovely. Had the boathouse burger and salt and pepper bites, beef and ale pie, haloumi strips, fries and chicken bites with sweet chilli. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and said they would eat there again. Service was great. Would go again.

Been for Sunday lunch today.I can sum it up in 4 words, cracking food, amazing value! Booked twice for the festive menu while we were there a nd most likely booking for Xmas day too

My friends and myself have been to the Boat house today for lunch wasexce the service was excellant and the food exceptional we did not have to wait long for the food to be brought to our tables and was hot when it arrived at the table. the starter and desserts were excellant.Everyone enjoyed the meal the atmosphere is very relaxing. Good value for money will definately be going back and will reccommend to other friends. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely lunch.

New to the area and The Biat House has become our go-to place for a refreshing drink and beautiful food. Never had a bad meal there!

Fabulous place. Went there with my manager for the lunch. I had a sandwich, chips and a nice cup of tea. The place near to Irlam, Northbank Industrial estate. So it’s an ideal place all the people work in the area. When it comes the Boat House Inn what I liked most is the their ambiance and decor. Back side is having water view with corridor table settings. It’s open and beautiful, most calm and nice. The inn has indoor and outdoor seatings. Tables and seating are aesthetically pleasing. Food is delicious and service is excellent. Staff is good. Menu is added in the photos, please check. They have a plenty of drinks available. Additionally, everything comes in reasonable price. I would recommend the place without any doubts. I had great time there.

Great local pub. Offers through the week are very enticing incl 2 for £16. Keep an eye on the deals not always on at certain times. Sunday lunches are very popular. Warm days attract lots of families so can become very busy especially at weekend. Always book a table in advance. Very difficult to grab a table on walk in, unless you want to sit outside. Beer prices are slightly high but not yet hit city centre prices. A very enjoyable pub with great food and small selection of beers and good cocktails. Very dog/family friendly.

This is the closest decent pub to where I live. Love the outdoor as it is huge and they have an outdoor bar. Is nice in the conservatory looking over the old river. Food is always nice pub food. Yesterday it was rammed due to football but the service from the bar and food was excellent, no waiting in long queues. There were lots of staff on which is good. Only thing id like is maybe ordering from your table even if it was just food but thats me being lazy!

Came to the boathouse today for lunch with my 3 year old. Staff were exceptionally attentive and made my daughter feel very welcome, giving her things to keep her entertained and asking her if she enjoyed her food also. Food was top quality. Exceptional value for money on the light bite menu with portions being more than enough. Food was hot and fresh. We will definitely be back soon.

So dog friendly that they have a dog station at the front door with different sized clean bowls, fresh water and jars of treats for the four legged family members.. The human food isn't bad too

ive grew uo at the boat house goin there every weekend i loved it as a kid with the old management but as the new management has come in the place has gone down hill the food has gotten worse, the staff have gotten worse, the drinks and the serving time aswell theyll be loads off staff on and youll still be waiting an hour to be served and food takes forever to come even if hardly anyones ordered food. I personally think the ild management should come back and try get some light into the boat house like it used to

Fantastic family pub restaurant even dogs are welcome in certain areas. We were a party of four and all ordered a different meal, the food was excellent and reasonably priced and served at the same time. Staff are very pleasant and work very hard. Highly recommend this pub.

We had a family birthday at the Boat House. There we 24 family members. Each one of us said how lovely the food was , how it came out piping hot and how the staff went over and beyond our expectations to present the food on time for 24. I can’t thank them enough . We all had a lovely time. Thank you for making the night a success with all of us. We will definitely be back !

Nice pub with great priced bar food with 2 for 1 mains this month which makes it cheaper to eat here than home, The food is good and the staff are very friendly, water was free, all round a great place, give it a try.
