The Stag Inn in Wigan

Called in with a friend yesterday afternoon after a round of golf. We each enjoyed fish, chips and peas which, on their 2 for 1 offer costing £6 each was far less than any local takeaway.

Staff was friendly food was good

Went for a family meal there was 20 of us staff couldn’t do enough and the meal was lovely would definitely recommend

Tasty hot food served quite quickly when we offered from the table. Was a little noisy but the football was on and it added to a friendly atmosphere. A pleasant experience and really enjoyed the food - would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Wasnt a great experience. We ordered drinks on the app and took 15 mins to get them. Had to ask for them yet nobody was waiting at the bar. We then ordered sirloin steak, one medium and the other medium well. Came out and both were extremely well done to the point the steak knife couldnt cut it. Got replaced and yet again both well done but not hard so i jist ate mine, the other was sooo full of fat there was no meat to eat, luckily got money back for that one but seriously the chef needs to learn how to cook steak properly to how people want it. Well done isnt a medium or medium well steak. Would never return when up visiting friends again

Our first time here, we were really surprised at the quality and quantity of food. Perfect! We will definitely be back. It's a new menu so haven't commented on specifics.

booked a table for 3 for mothers day, checked in ,were shown to our table, ordered some coffees, instead of drinks, really nice hot. ordered the Combo for starter Wow was amazing, fter that my mother in law had a steak but it was a bit too tough for her to eat and cut through so she didnt eat much of it

Muy mala experiencia en el Stag Inn para el Día de las Madres por desgracia. Esperamos más de 30 minutos por nuestra comida, tuve que subir al bar para preguntar dónde estaba. Ni siquiera estaba tan ocupado en ese momento. Cuando salió la comida estaba bien, pero muchas cosas en la parrilla mixta se quemaron. No quería armar un escándalo y arruinar el día, y también teníamos algo más a lo que ir. Muy decepcionado.

Very impressed with everything. Food was delightful and good value for money, loads to choose from and an amazing atmosphere. Lauren on bar staff was so welcoming and ensured we got the best care possible 10/10

Came for food Saturday night found a table even though it was busy as they were showing the rugby,food was out pretty quick we had a mixture of starters and the chilly steak all of the food was amazing it was great food and great service.

Popped in for food after going to banks funeral home to sort my mums funeral and Hills florist across the road to organise flowers. Decided to stay local for some quick lunch. Completely missed the car park signs for obvious reasons. We were the first customers in and not one member of staff mentioned it to us. Know it’s our responsibility but didn’t expect to pay in a community pub? Tried to call to discuss and no one ever answers the phone. Paid the fine as didn’t need any more upset. Won’t be going back

Went for catch up with a friend over lunch. We had a starter, 2 main meals, 2 beers & I had a naughty apple pie to finish. The food was very tasty. We both rolled out of there fed n fattened. We certainly got value for money. We both intend on going again at some stage. Would recommend lunch here 👍

2nd visit & won't be the last. Lovely, friendly lady serving. Drink prices reasonable. Comfy pub.

The stag offers exactly what you want. The kids love watching the football, the food is good. Lauren and of the staff are all mega friendly. Really good when they have bands on.

Upon arrival at thon stag inn I was greeted by Lauren, I was shown to my table so I wouldn’t get lost. I ordered my food via the app (mixed grill to be exact). Thon steak was unbelievably excellent. Several Guinness’ later due to my chips being dry I used thou toilets which were satisfactory at best.

First visit here in many years. Nice atmosphere and was told it was busier than usual on this day. There was quite a wait for food and some complaints from others, although we weren't in a rush. Food was good, staff friendly, but busy. Varied menu, plenty to choose from, good price and lots of offers

A Total RIP off !!! Ordered the 2 for £11.50 (twice - due to there being 3 of us - 1 meal to take home) On the recommendation of the Staff, I joined the Sizzler app - to qualified for:- a) Free drinks b) 40% off (all food) Was charged £28.28, - informed that the free drinks was only on certain drinks!! & the 40% did not apply to other 'offers' I maintain that the 2 for £11.50 was part of the normal menu & not classed as an specific offer It was, therefore, unnecessary to order two 2 for £11.50 meals!!! I was charged full price for each meal I did, however, receive the 40% of the food The Stag have now lost 3 plus customers PLUS

Great value good and friendly atmosphere

Welcoming, warm and relaxed. Freezing cold day and everything about the place said have lunch. Great food and perfectly presented. Priced just right for an impromptu bite to eat. Staff were lovely too.

Been here on several occasions and not been disappointed sizzling steak delicious and value for money spotless clean and kind friendly staff on hand.

Wow very impressed all round - food, service and value for money. Great choice on menu, both food and drinks, great atmosphere! The food was cooked to perfection and well presented, good service and although it was busy there was no long wait for food, staff friendly and efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back again.

Stopped off here for lunch with a colleague. Ordered drinks and food from the bar. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food came in good time. We had a couple of starters and items of the main menu. Good portion size nicely cooked and tasted great. No issues at all. Left site to a smile and a thanks from the staff.. Ordered on deliveroo X2 clucking hot stack burger meals Poorly presented, very soggy burger buns, and no onion rings as advertised which was deceptive. Spicy chips was underwhelming.

So today I took my lovely friend and her son out for lunch . Her son is a special needs child. The staff (lauren) was so lovely with him made our lunch very enjoyable

As always a great meal at The Stag Orrell. Served today by Ashley for the first time, super friendly and helpful. Great deal on wine too, buy 2 glasses and get the rest of the bottle. £35 for 2 adults and child bottle of wine and 2 soft drinks. Talk about value for money !

Went in for food the other day and received some brilliant service from Mark. He made sure that we were well looked after and was very friendly. Definitely will come back again.

Just been to the stag with my wife for a drink . Was on the way home and got the taxi to stop at the stag. It was 22.50pm . Last orders is 23.00pm and the website also says open. Went to the bar young girl looked surprised and said sorry were shut . Lads sat on the table with full pints still so they had just been served, And I said it’s ten to 11 your last orders are 11 ?? She looked at her phone and realised the time and then said someone had taken the till out so we can’t serve . had to leave . Absolute piss poor service . I live local with my family and will never go back . Don’t advertise your open then move the goal posts when you want . Your a public house and your opening hours are what you advertise. Absolute joke

Visited the stagg last week, Mel on the bar was very friendly and helpful excellent service.

Had fantastic service off laura from going in the pub . There were 18 of us altogether. All the food was hot and everyone had good meal and desserts.

Place has gone downhill since Emily left and you know it. The waiter Sam was great, nothing was too much trouble. Still a banging boozer tho.

I usually come on Thirsty Thursdays for the two for one drinks and occasionally try the food. Today I ordered the mega mixed grill and was more than impressed. I will be coming again as the portion size was great. The service of the waiter Sam went above and beyond bringing knifes and forks and tasty food.

Calked in for a bite to eat on the way passed, wonderful friendly staff & a great pizza. A special shout for Lauren on bar & Will font of house, so friendly & welcoming to a new customer.
