Visited the Whistling Wren for my sons 17th birthday with friends.The pub is lovely and,all the staff were great couldn't do enough for us,had a great day as did my son he really enjoyed it.As for the food there was nothing to fault all 12 of us enjoyed our meals.I highly recommend a visit you won't be disappointed.

Had a lovely meal tonight chicken Sunday dinner and a chicken and mushroom pie, lovely. Staff Steph, Amy, Josh and Beth are so friendly and always welcome you with a smile. We go once a week sometimes more.

Called in before going to Leigh for football. Great reception in entering from one of the team. The food was lovely. I am gluten-free, and the menu was great. The place was packed out our server. Very busy inside with people eating and waiting for food. I went outside with my drink to wait for others to meet up and move on later.

Amy looked after us brilliantly on Sunday 29th September, met all our requests and even found some Christmas colouring for our son to stay out of mischief. We will be returning, especially with the current 30% off mains offer.

We called in for lunch after we had been to an antiques fayre on Sunday. We sat in the bar area, though full table service was available. We were served promptly at the bar by friendly staff. I had the half roast chicken Sunday lunch which was great value for money with two large pigs in blankets. My partner had The Cowboy Burger which he said was tasty. The meals were delivered quickly to our table which was great as we were both hungry. The bar had a good selection of cider too which is a bonus for a Marston's Pub.

Steph was our waitress. She was fabulous and very friendly. 5* for her.

Food served piping hot, tasty, reasonable prices. We were seated in the table serviced area of the bar. Service good.

The 30% off offer was on and it was packed. Wed booked a table and from arriving we were greeted warmly by staff. Our order was taken at the table by Steph who kept us updated as it was taking a little longer than usual due to the amount of customers enjoying the sunshine s d the offer. The food was well cooked to perfection and we enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine. Well done .

Despite a rugby match night the pub was well staffed. The were friendly and attentive. From ordering our food to receiving took just 15 minutes. The food was cooked to perfection. Great value for money

It was so busy due to the rugby, but it was so well organised, plenty of staff, who all knew what they were doing, worked so hard and smiled even though they were run off their feet. the singer outside was a nice touch. I ordered a Sunday roast beef and it was very tasty but right when I started eating my surprise was the amount that came of beef maybe 50 grams? I was surprised by the amount of meat that came, I'm a person of just over 50 kilos and I imagine what this protein would be for someone who asks for between 70 and 80 kilos will definitely leave hungry. The staff is very very friendly and efficient, the pub has a pleasant atmosphere the food was tasty but the amount left me with the certainty that I will not eat the Sunday roast again.

I was a late arrival at just before their 9pm deadline for food orders but Jordan was accommodating and helpful, food was fine and in line with expectations, nice clean eating area with helpful and polite staff. Will definitely use again.

My partner and I visited today with my toddler and my newborn. We were served by Elise and Steph; and honestly, we couldn't be more happy with the service we received. There's potential to have a tricky time when taking a toddler to a restaurant, but they both included our daughter in conversations, gave us plenty of time to decide on meals, and offered crayons and pictures to colour for my little girl to keep her distracted whilst we ate. They were friendly, approachable and nothing seemed too much. The food was amazing, as always; and not at all expensive. I cannot recommend this place enough; and honestly, a huge thank you to the staff that served us today for your patience 😀

It's nice to have table service, the staff are friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their food, the steaks were cooked exactly how we asked for them. The gammon steaks were really tasty and NOT salty. The wine was good and reasonable value for money. We will be back again soon.

called in on a Friday evening a managed to get a table ( no rugby). Our server was friendly and polite We ordered some beers while trying to decide what to eat I opted for Fish chips and Mushy peas, my wife ordered lasagne Both meals were good and our plates were cleared. Small gripe £1.79 for two small pieces of bread and butter.
