The best restaurants serving British food in North East

I recently had my Espresso machine services by coffee zone as well as buying some coffee to try. Unlike a couple of "highly recommended" espresso machine companies who couldn't even be bothered to return calls / emails / messages, Octavian was a joy to do business with. The coffee was really good also, great value and a good taste; in fact i'm going there today to buy some more!

We stayed here second day of our long walk of Hadrians Wall. Rooms were lovely and clean and very quiet. Really dog friendly and the chef was fantastic xx

Just popped in for a Sunday lunch and received it very quick, Yorkshire pudding was very hard and a bit burnt , the parsnip was so hard I couldn’t even put the knife in to cut it and the meat was thinly sliced which was quite bland. The beer was go though.

Tuvimos un tiempo muy agradable aquí a eso de las 4 en punto del sábado cuando queríamos una bebida y comida ligera. La camarera explicó con ayuda las ofertas de la Semana del Restaurante y esperó mientras mi hija accedía a ellas en su teléfono. Delicioso queso de cabra en masa madre con 2 copas de vino por solo £ 20 - excelente relación calidad-precio. Compruebe la cortesía para asegurarse de que todo era a nuestra satisfacción.

Soy un habitual aquí, la comida siempre es buena y caliente. Siempre hay buenas ofertas especiales y un montón de opciones. Pero lo más importante es que el personal es genial y siempre amable

Very nice chips and all the food they have is lush it's not expense but not cheap and some of the best service

New owners taken over the new mill lovely and chatty made to feel so welcomed and the beer was spot on .

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

Fabulous little cafe based at the mining museum. A small but prefect menu with very reasonable prices and friendly staff.

After a fantastic meal here on the Saturday night (fish n chips and the open steak sandwich) we returned again, the following Friday. This time we both had the Manor Inn burger. Fantastic food yet again and possibly the best burger I have had in a long time. Staff were fantastic and service was outstanding.

I'm writing this as there aren't many reviews food is always excellent run by geordie ratcliffe as this was his late wife's cafe for years he runs the cafe as Jeanette would i may be a friend but he serves excellent food keep up the good work geordie see you tomorrow morning around 9.30a.m

Decided to try on good Friday after hearing good reports, ordered six haddock,three bags of chips separate, peas gravy and curry , although the staff were very busy ,my haddock were cooked while I waited and I must say ,they were very nice,as was the rest of the food ,the staff thou run off their feet were very friendly zlcan't think of anything negative to say about the little chip , will definitely be back .

A pleasant cafe with great drinks and something for everyone on the menu. I got the nourish bowl. It was nice enough! The tofu was a little bit flavourless, and I don’t think white rice went with the dish (quinoa or other grains would have gone better I think). But I enjoyed it and I appreciate a healthy vegan option on the menu! Outdoor seating are also great in warm weather ☺️
