Food was lovely but I have discovered upon returning home that I was charged £4.50 for some hot water. My friend and I ordered Earl Grey and a Peppermint tea with our food. I ordered a second cup of Earl Grey and my friend asked if she could have some hot water in a teapot to top up her Peppermint tea. Whilst I appreciate there may have been a charge for hot water (although I’ve never experienced this in any other establishment), I was genuinely gobsmacked at the cost. It is completely unreasonable and disproportionate. The server made no attempt to advise us it would have been cheaper to order a fresh herbal tea which beggars belief. As a small business owner myself, this is the worst business acumen I’ve witnessed. It’s such a shame as the food was really nice but it has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth.

Cosy place , lovely location but staff are rude and make you feel unwelcome. We ‘ ve been several times and it’s the same attitude every time . We went last week and they had two tables one was reserved and the second one was free . One of the staff said we can have the table . The old one was abrupt . She didn’t give it to us. If they have this attitude, they won’t survive.

My 60th birthday party was held here. A great venue located at roker. Had a brilliant night Nothing too much bother and Tracey was very helpful Brilliant venue Brilliant food Excellent staff and service. Top notch!

We visited Thursday lunch time with a relative who has travelled up from Cambridge for a few days. Tge crab on toast was delicous, the staff were very helpful and attentive, tge decor and surroundings are plush all in all a great experience. Thank you!

Popped in while travellers between holiday locations. The breakfasts were great - I had the full breakfast, lovely sausages and bacon. My wife had the vegetarian breakfast - looked really good too.

Super friendly owners and staff, very attentive and helpful. Food delicious, with lots of breakfast and brunch offers for the morning we went which also accommodated vegetarians and lactose intolerance. Average prices, beautiful setting, what isn’t there to love? Will be coming back here again, checking out their midweek tapas night which looks amazing.

Slow service from staff. Drinks order was wrong. People that arrived after us were served before us, even though we'd waited a while - tried to get waitresses attention but she didn't acknowledge us when we tried to ask her a question at the bar. Food was overpriced and wasn't nice. I had the roast chicken which was tough. Wouldn't recommend and won't return.

Very attentive, knowledgeable staff. Good recommendations, including a reduction in bread for our starter (which we replaced with funeral salami). Tasty food and of course an amazing view! We loved it!

I'll start with the positives - the food was lovely. Not cheap but don't mind paying more if it's actually nice. But if it's a lunch with the family you're after it's probably not the place for you, not many family friendly a options on the menu, but nice tapas style dishes. Unfortunately the staff member who was dealing with us was extremely rude, certainly no service with a smile. Before we'd finished she'd takes chairs away to seat other people, leaving one of our party on one side of the table and 3 on the other, like a job interview! We were specifically told we could have the table until quarter to 5 and this was at quarter past 3 - it made us feel really unwelcome and like we were being rushed out, even though we were still enjoying cocktails after our food. Won't be rushing back.

Myself and four other friends visited today after a really nice meal at Christmas time. The food again was really delicious. However, the deposit policy needs reviewing and really has put me off returning. A £5 per head deposit was made to secure the table and I have absolutely no issue with this at all. One member of our party could not make it and when we confirmed we were met with an abrupt “well you won’t get your deposit back.” It actually took us all back and when we asked why, it was noted that someone else may have that space instead. Not very sure where this 1 person space would be as the restaurant was full and there were no other tables or chairs. The lady was very defensive when we asked why too. I’ve never ever experienced anything like this policy in other places and feels very unfair when there were still 5 other people eating and a £100 bill too. Totally put me off returning so you’ve lost 5 loyal customers for the sake of £5. Such a shame as the food is lovely.

Warm and comfortable interior with sea views. Greeted by friendly staff. Food arrived promptly - well presented and absolutely delicious - generous portions. We had piles of crab on fresh sourdough and juicy garlic prawns also served with bread. Perfect for lunch. Excellent value as well considering the portion sizes.

Visited yesterday evening for the first time, but will definitely be back. Great food and friendly staff. Food was very good we had a seafood and a cheese platter and both were really nice. Maybe a few more crackers on the platter would have made it perfect.

Our usual venue was full, so we decided to give Six a try and a fortuitous choice it was. Nice place inside and good sea views outside. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a good choice of breakfast items, small plates, platters and specials etc. I had the crab on toasted sour dough bread, whilst my wife and her mother had cheese on toasted sour dough bread all from the breakfast menu. A good strong cup of tea went down well as we waited for our food to be prepared and served. Our food looked very nice when it arrived and was well presented with a side salad. It was very tasty and we devoured the whole lot with relish. The prices are moderate and the service was attentive. We also admired the blue, metallic, Art Deco style wallpaper.

Celebrated a family birthday at Six, around 45 people came for the evening. Great size venue, looks lovely. The buffet was gorgeous and had lots of compliments from the guests. Helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend for a celebration
