IFry in Newcastle upon Tyne

I have been here a lot these last few months because food is so good , it's very clean Fish and chips fresh no grease I can honestly say it's the best fish shop around Staff always pleasant

Been coming here for the last 6 years, can honestly say the food here has always been good for us. Cooked fresh to order (which is fantastic as it means hot food but also means a wait). Staff are mostly good (especially the little guy captured in the photo). Average prices but good food - always go and get it fresh yourself rather than get it delivered as we've had mixed result when ordering delivery where popping in and ordering has always given us consistently good food.

Fantastic food everytime, usually order in bulk for the office and everything is always hot and fresh and quick! Go every week, love it.

Not been for a while thought I would have a kebab £6 for a tray of kebab meat bitterly disappointed meat was dry and shrivelled and garlic sauce pots were a third of the size it used to be. Used to be a brilliant place for food not anymore. Relying on past good reviews save your money go somewhere else

Ordered at 16:00 for collection. Arrived as per the timeframe given, the food was quite delayed. Cheese burger was poor, as was the rest of the food. Chips were decent though. Seems the owner cuts costs in anyway possible and you can tell.

Really nice food, consistently good on every visit. Chicken wrap is a very generous portion and delicious! The only small thing I would change is to wrap the food directly in paper rather than boxes as the food can go a bit soggy from the steam.

I have used IFRY for over 4 years. Tonights meal of Fish and chips for my family was an absolute disgarace. The chips were blatantly obviously not fresh and seemed to be the very cheapest frozen chips from somewhere like Iceland!!! The extra large cod fillet fish was tiny compared to other propor fish and chip shops. I will not be using this money/quality saving franchise again. Please dont expect value for money as this is a disgarce

Well I can’t comment on a review of food as I sent it back once it eventually arrived ! I ordered at 9pm and was told it was 45-60 mins wait which I accepted but after over an hour I rang and was told it was being bagged up and would not be long and the lady apologised. After another 30 mins I rang again and she said it left 10mins ago when I rang along with another order which she implied was local. After a further 15 mins I gave up and went to bed. I was awoken at 11.10 (2 hours and 10mins) from ordering! I got up and told the driver I no longer wanted and he said that “she” had sent him to throckly then Kingston park. If iffy reads this I suggest you don’t take orders you cannot deliver in a reasonable time!

Amazing chippy, friendly and amazing quality. Best chippy locally in westerhope. Always cooked fresh and always hot and tasty

Absolutely disgusting service..ordered at 5:18 pm with a 70 min wait time..rang at 6:42 to be told it had left the shop 5 min prior. Had to ring back at 6:58 pm to be told the driver had left his phone at home and then that there was a problem with the website. I had high hopes for this shop. Never again

This has got to be one of the best fish and chip shops in the area. I think has taken over lots of trade from a very popular chippy not far away. if so deservedly the portions are very generous. food always freshly prepared. very clean shop The staff helpful and pleasant For traditional take away i thoroughly recommend.

fabulous fish n chips regular was big enough and beautiful chips not greasy, fish was well cooked will def go back x

Had my food delivered and couldn’t be any happier with the food received and the delivery service. Food is always cooked fresh and is always hot when delivered, delivery service is always fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend trying the XXL kebab wrap, worth the money and perfect for sharing

One thing the north east has in abundance is fish & chip shops, but this..is by far the nicest we have tried. since our first visit to IFRY we have managed to sampled a good portion of there menu..from there traditional fish shop favourites to there !HUGE! xxl wrap and we have honestly never been disappointed with the food here. the staff here are great too.. they’re always very welcoming and eager to please. in particular the two lads working the front.. abit banter with them always makes my wait go that bit quicker :)!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food. 10/10

Lovely food, lovely staff, biggest kebab wrap I've ever seen, for so cheap as well. Such a broad amount of items to choose from on the menu too, something for everyone!

Had a fab takeaway this evening. Cod bites were freshly cooked, chips were thick n tasty. Couldn’t ask for more in a local chippy. Will definitely be returning.

Just moved to a bungalow 4 months ago... heard about ifry from family and friends...beautiful tasty food and loads of variety too and they deliver for £1 which is a bonus...def be back. Staff go out of their way to help and are chatty with a personal touch...go for it its great.

I used to go to Gormans but they have declined rapidly in the last year or so and I thought i would give I-fry a try, Whilst you have to wait for your fish to be cooked-it's worth the wait. Excellent portions of chips and a good size piece of fish: unlike the previously mentioned establishment. P.S you also get a free carton of mushy peas or curry with your fish and chips.

Best fish n chips in westerhope, with great service. Buying from this guys for few months now and have never let us down. Highly recommended.

I absolutley LOVED the chips from here, spam fritter and fish are second to none but the last twice i have had the chips they have a horrible tase and smell of some type of oil i have never had before. I could smell it as soon as i got them home to unwrap and even though i smothered them in the lovely curry sauce i could still tast the foul flavour of grease/oil not sure what it was. Please change it back or you have lost a big spending customer as all my family tasted it too and the chips went in the bin.

Localy we are blessed with Fish & Chip shops BUT out of all of them we have found this one to be the most consistant and the best value for money.

Having been to the IFry in Westerhope I have found, the staff are lovely people who will take your order and are very helpful.

Seen this place open a few months back pass it most days so thought I should give it a go

Visited today and i can really say i realky enjoyed my fish ans chips.Food excellent and staff where really welcoming will definately be comjng again

Decided to get a fish supper delivered as I have only been once I wasnt sure what my meal would be like, I was not disappointed it was lovely I got cod bites which are like mini fish you get 5 of these but I could only eat 3 cos they were full of fish I also ordered kebab and salad for the hubby which looks so fresh and to me looks just as good as mine, I will definitely be back soon.

We got a menu posted through our letter box so decided to try I fry delivery, we were not disappointed, I had cod and chips absolutely piping hot as if they were straight from the pan on to my plate no grease or oil on them with a tub of curry and a small bag of batter (again no grease).

I like this dish and chippery. They don't just do the usual, but also pasta dishes.

I have visited on several occasions and never been disappointed. The meal deals are great and quality of fish and chips is great. You never have to wait for too long, even when ordering something that isnt prepared and i am always impressed that they seem to put a fresh cod in almost every time i order.

Very good fish and chips and reasonably priced with a side order. I’ve not tried any of their other dishes but they also seem reasonably priced.

food is absolutely amazing,fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly. They have a good variety on the menu. I tired the chicken wings with spicy bbq sauce and it was absolutely fantastic..

Consigliato da amici di Newcastle abbiamo provato il fish and Chips....morbido, croccante e abbondante, la scelta di aggiungere aceto, per il gusto di un Italiano è strano. Comunque la base è ottima ! Nel menu abbiamo visto la pasta e lasagne !!!!! Buonissime !!! Lo chef è un ragazzo Italiano con una lunga esperienza, e si sente nella cura dei sughi che ci ha fatto assaggiare. Bravi a proporre la nostra cucina nel Mondo. Fortunato il quartiere di Westerhope ad avere questa opportunità. BUONA FORTUNA !!

Bad watered down gravy n curry and no taste whatsoever to fish cake full of bones and hubby loved cheese patties that got in summer said same no taste, so pleased didnt waste money on fish x. Bring back lasses who cooked in summer👎
