Came for a quiet drink with friends and had a great time, service was first class off Linzi . Thank you will definitely return!!!

Ate the dirty hunters chicken burger, double, Absolutely delicious, it’s a big one to handle and it got a bit messy, but who doesn’t like it a bit messy, I loved it so much I don’t want to brush my teeth now, but I will don’t threat, waitress Chloe S WOW, what a lovely lady, cannot decide what was more gorgeous, that smile or the personality behind it, I do a fair bit of eating out as I travel and honestly if I could hook this place up onto my car and travel around with it to eat and be served by Chloe S I would, but I only have a small one, car that is and not sure my engine could take the strain, shame but next time in this area 100% coming back here

Amazing service and fantastic food. 10 stars. Lovely atmosphere. We popped in for lunch and we're not disappointed. The carvery was brilliant. Lily our server was absolutely brilliant constantly topping our drinks and making sure we were all good!

Lovely food perfectly made my dad had the stake and ale pie I had the mixed grill . Only downside is my dad didn't get his pot of tea and didn't want to bother the staff so in away spoilt his visit as he loves a pot of tea with his food .

Always a lovely meal, go quite often with the kids. Food is always good, decent portion size and variety for everyone. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Nice little play area for the kids, keeps them occupied while parents are able to relax 😌

A firm favourite of our family for years. Staff are always brilliant, we were recently looked after by the lovely Lily who is an asset to the Wheatsheaf. Can't grumble at the prices. The Wheatsheaf is like our 2nd home and long may it continue. Keep up the good work guys and girls!

I had the carvery, we had our food at 5 pm. Everything was literally bone dry, the roast potatoes were that dry they were rock hard, every single veg dry, there was a fly on the meat which was also dry amd crispy. Nothing was edible. Lovely pub but the carvery was very disappointing.

We came along to the Wheatsheaf for my wife’s Birthday tonight and had such a class time. All the staff were amazing and friendly. The two Chloe’s were working along with a number of other great staff whose names I didn’t catch. Food choice is next level and everything was outstanding. Can’t wait to be back .

Every time we visit this establishment the atmosphere inside is always warm and welcoming. Staff are like friends you haven’t seen in a while, the food is always incredible. It’s like a home away from home. They also have a great cake selection that rotates out, so there is always something sweet to take home at the end of the meal.

Great low-cost pub with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and the food is surprisingly good given the budget prices. Very handy for Newcastle Airport. I would definitely go here again.

This carvery was amazing loved it. The meat was so tender and the vegetables cooked perfectly!!! Went with my mum, absolutely loved it!!! Linzi is very helpful behind bar, lovely service from Mary on front of desk, Niki wonderful in the restaurant, all the staff are good.

Lovely and welcoming hosted a learning disability birthday meal of 33 people and the service was fantastic took separate orders and food was delivered close to each other without a hitch Thank you 😊

We have ate here a few times now, my friend is disabled and has speech and mobility problems, and I can honestly say the staff are wonderful to her, they always find a table near carvery for her and take the time to listen to her. They are so helpful, polite and kind, cannot speak to highly of them Mary and Holly are 2 members who are so nice as are the Chef and other staff. Food is delicious plentiful and hot. It is a pleasure to go too this establishment.

Food was lovely and piping hot. The selection of desserts is unreal. Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We will definitely be back.

Haven't visited for a few years but was always a family favourite. Decided it was time to go back today and overall was very disappointed. Opted for the carvery which is what the place is known for, and watched as the chef carved the meat for me. When I sat down and started to eat I thought I had a blunt knife as I could not cut the meat, eventually I got a piece and put it in my mouth, and chewed and chewed and chewed until I got fed up chewing and spat it out in a napkin. Don't think that knife was blunt any more the meat was very very chewy and I ended up leaving it. The rest of the food was all right but I have to mention the stuffing, that stuffing was an amazing! I would happily go back just for that! On other things, staff were very friendly and helpful, excellent wheelchair facilities, and is generally a very nice place.
