Llegué un par de minutos antes de la hora de la reserva a un saludo de bienvenida de un joven, que luego nos llevan a un entorno de cuatro. Aunque humildemente un restaurante más pequeño de lo que me había imaginado, el ambiente era tan cautivador y calmante💗. Fue recibido por una joven dama de modales perfectos y un servicio al cliente encantador (sonriendo en todo). Ella explicó las comidas y tomó nuestras órdenes. Pero luego llegó la comida 🤯 con tubería caliente y absolutamente deliciosa 😋. Nada podía faltar, la salsa especial del hipopótamo era tan tentadora. Esperamos con ansias volver, solo para mencionar también al caballero que nos saludó por primera vez notó mi discapacidad y notablemente maniobró las mesas para ayudar, verdaderamente una experiencia humilde y agradecida 💯💗💗💗

Incredible burgers, super friendly staff, and an all-round great vibe. Only downside? It was a bit warm inside—but hey, maybe that’s just the grill working overtime. Would 100% meat again!

Grabbed the lunch deal which included a burger and a side for 8.90£. My golly gosh! what amazing value! i can’t recommend this enough to all the jesmond residents.

Ordered delivery which took over 2 hours. We called to chase and were told over the phone that our order would be redone for delivery. When it arrived cold and we rang to query, the lass on the phone said she'd felt it was hot enough...but it clearly wasn't checked. How could it be hot enough after sitting on a hot plate for 2 hours! We understand the delivery may be Just Eat, but we were basically lied to which is shocking.

Just spent £109 on food more than half was cold. Chip were soggy the chicken wings were bland and sloppy burger was terrible and the sandwich was cold DO NOT RECOMMEND

I guess I am just getting old, but I thought that the price was a little high, the burgers were good, but the patties were a little lacking in seasoning, over all I was a good meal and by the way the chips were very good! The service was good but the heating could have done with being turned up a notch or two. But over all I would return and enjoy their very nice burgers 🙂

Great burgers in a cosy, trendy environment. Very dog-friendly. Our waiter was great and Alice gave us a warm welcome with advice about the best table.

Visitando a la familia en Newcastle y que habían recomendado comer aquí, lo que era una gran recomendación. Las hamburguesas eran excepcionales, gran relación calidad-precio, no sobreprecio y gran tamaño de porción. Comida para niños a £ 7. 50 era un valor excepcional. El personal era excelente, el lugar era agradable y limpio. Volveremos a comer aquí la próxima vez que visitemos Newcastle.

Visited with friends and children, one with severe allergy. We felt well informed and taken care off by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and Giuseppe made some great recommendations! Strongly recommend!

Visited on a Friday afternoon around 6pm, seated fast, Good food, friendly service. Tristan served us; he had a cool mullet and tash combo.

Nice (quirky) little restaurant in Jesmond. When we entered and sat down we were asked to move along to the tables at the end of the restaurant with no given reason which was a little bit uncomfortable (but wasn't a problem). The lady behind the counter (front of house) didn't seem too happy to be there. The music was uncomfortably loud which made it hard to relax. I think it's always worth remembering that not everyone can tolerate loud noise and not everyone likes the same music 🎶 which means it can quickly become the opposite of relaxing and ends up being more irritating and annoying than enjoyable. The food was AMAZING and the waitress who served us was first class (warm, friendly, accommodating, enthusiastic, reassuring and a genuine people person), which made the experience unforgettable for the right reasons. Yes, I would definitely recommend as I have family and friends that would love this place. It's not right for me - solely to do with the music/volume.

Had a takeaway, they kept changing delivery time. Food was freezing cold and undercooked. Very disappointed

La comida para llevar de hamburguesas puede ser un gran éxito y fallar pero hipopótamo gordo, gran éxito. La hamburguesa de pico salvaje era de una calidad increíble, buena relación de ingredientes y una deliciosa salsa de barbacoa. Las patatas también eran geniales. Llegó a £ 18 todo en orden de salir justo al este, así que no una estafa como algunos otros. ¿Tienes que ser la mejor hamburguesa de Newcastle? Me impresionó mucho.

Ordered on Uber eats around half 7 for delivery, food finally turned up at 9:50 stone cold, burgers were dry and the chips were soggy. The only bit of the meal that was warm was our drinks… Won’t be ordering again

Ordered for delivery at around 19:30. Food arrived stone cold and dry at 21:50. No issues with delivery man, but food had obviously been sitting in fat hippo for 2 hours before it was picked up. Won't be ordering or visiting again.

Freddie was our server and he was brilliant always checking up on us and making sure we were okay with our drinks and food.

Pedido para llevar, vía colección. Hamburguesa de pollo, salsas y papas fritas. Llegué 10 minutos antes de la hora de recogida y mi pedido ya estaba esperando! Corto paseo de vuelta a mi Airbnb y, como era de esperar, las patatas fritas estaban frías. Lo peor de todo fue que el pollo, creo, era muslo de pollo, lo cual odio. Carne morena con una textura extraña. Comprobé la aplicación y todo lo que dice es hamburguesa de pollo, así que estoy bastante seguro de que era muslo. Tomó algunos bocados y lo tiró todo en el contenedor como estaba vil y / o frío. Muy decepcionante. Mensaje a través de la aplicación y solo le dijo a un día después mensaje al chef ... Sí, gracias por eso. Una hamburguesa realmente vil. Al menos etiquetar correctamente para que la gente sepa por adelantado lo que están recibiendo

Great family meal for birthday celebration. Table was booked for 6 people and was ready for when we arrived. The food all arrived hot and we all enjoyed our burgers I had dirty fries which were amazing love fat hippo sauce. Only disappointment for some of the family was that the hand cut chips seemed to have changed from our last fat hippo visit either that or the hand cuts in Jesmond are different to that of Newcastle underground. But overall very pleasant and happy celebration meal.
