Freddie was our server and he was brilliant always checking up on us and making sure we were okay with our drinks and food.

Called in for a burger as they have a lot of gluten free options and it didn’t disappoint! Service was quick and everyone was friendly, our server, Dan was great and was happy to check menu items for the gluten free diner

Great family meal for birthday celebration. Table was booked for 6 people and was ready for when we arrived. The food all arrived hot and we all enjoyed our burgers I had dirty fries which were amazing love fat hippo sauce. Only disappointment for some of the family was that the hand cut chips seemed to have changed from our last fat hippo visit either that or the hand cuts in Jesmond are different to that of Newcastle underground. But overall very pleasant and happy celebration meal.

Have been to a few fat hippo’s, and this one in Jesmond is the best by far! “Dan”s knowledge, advice and service was second to none, & has secured my repeat custom. Thank you!

What a great place for breakfast. Food was tasty and the portions were decent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The vegan burger was a little too heavy on the hash browns, but apart from that's our meals were spot on.

Bought 3 menu's from here tonight and for the price of the food I thought it’s going to be something really nice but the burger tastes burnt and very dry . So disappointed I was actually looking forward to eating something nice but will definitely have to go somewhere else next time

We were down visiting Jesmond for a wedding and stopped here for breakfast on Saturday 5th of October. The breakfast menu is fantastic and the service was superb! It was fairly busy and had a great atmosphere. The only grumble we had was that the fried eggs were very overcooked and way too crispy round the edges.. wasn’t too pleasant to eat. We would suggest if breakfast stays in place (it definitely should!!) that the pancakes should be served with maple syrup instead of the maple butter and to add a savoury option for pancakes (like including eggs, bacon, sausage etc) instead of having them as additional add ons. Overall a great time was had, and we also found out there is a Fat Hippo in Scotland where we’re from, so we will definitely be visiting there too!!

Impeccable service from Ellie and Caitlin! Very attentive and super friendly! Honestly the best burgers my son and I have ever had! We hit lucky with the happy hour from 5-6 and got 2 course for just over £16! Loved the decor and laid back music too!

👤Staff were polite and happy to wait for us to decide on drinks/food, very patient. ⏱️We waited roughly 10-15 minutes for our food so very quick service. (We did go when it wasn’t very busy) 💰£15-20/pp. I paid £33 for the 2 burgers and upgraded side (tater tots). You do get a free side choice of fries or slaw though. ⭐️There is a gluten free menu available and each burger/ food item is broken down on the online menu for descriptions of any potential allergens. ✅The size and quality of the burgers is definitely worth the cost ❤️Would recommend and visit again

Popped in for some food tonight with my boyfriend, we both had a burger each and it was lush, portions are fab too. Best service thanks to Jess, gave the restaurant such a cozy vibe. :)))

Today's visit was very disappointing. When I arrived at the restaurant and gave my name. The order wasn't looked for, and priority was given to delivery drivers over customers collecting their own orders. My order was left in a box going cold. I was told my order was being prepared. When I eventually got my order and I confronted the manager, my concerns were dismissed and in no way addressed. The food was also not up to standard. The trash browns had very little cheese on them. The Born Slippy burgers had no cheese in them and very little pork meat. The Wild Bill burger didn't have a waffle and very little cheese. I would expect this sort of thing at McDonald's, not at this sort of restaurant and not when I have paid £81 for 4 take out meals.
