I came without really knowing where to go, in the end I ate well! This restaurant will surprise you, the dishes are of quality and the price is not excessive There is room, you can come with friends or family The central location makes getting there quite easy Don’t hesitate to try one of their many beers!

We thought we would give this place a go after reading several very good reviews and we weren't disappointed. There was a 2 for 1 cocktail offer on so I had two delicious 'Old Fashioned's, with Glenfiddich and an orange twist, whilst my wife ordered two Martinis. Both drinks were lovely. We ordered a three plate starter - Bar + Block do a selection of small plates as starters and we selected garlic prawns, 'burnt ends' and a crispy Chinese dish. I didn't like the sound of the 'Burnt Ends' but this turned out to be my favourite dish. It's just the offcuts from the steaks but the meat has been marinated in a wonderful sauce. My wife enjoyed the Chinese dish the best despite it being a little spicy and she not having much tolerance for spicy food. We both ordered the sirloin steaks, mine with chunky chips and my wife's with a baked potato. The side sauces were a little disappointing - the Bar + Block signature sauce was vinegary and reminded us both of HP sauce. I didn't think it went well with the steak but was an ok accompaniment to the chips. The Mexican sauce was more of a finely chopped salad. Perhaps it was just not what I was expecting. Both our steaks were delicious though. Perfectly cooked and seared closed. Very juicy and full of taste. Our side order of onion rings was just that but nicely cooked too. The service was great - Ben being very attentive and friendly - as were all of the staff. Prices are good for Newcastle and the quality of the food. The offer on the cocktails helped too.I would recommend this place and we would consider going back if we are in the area.

This is spot is great for steaks and cocktails the raspberry margaritas was my favourite. I was greeted at the door by manager James who sat me to my table and introduced me to my server Lana who was more than helpful during the visit. Overall this restaurant is great for its location and the small plate deals they do! Great value at great price.

Popped into Bar + Block in Newcastle for lunch and tried the steak and cheese sandwich—so good! The steak was spot on. The staff were really friendly and made the whole experience great. Loved the chilled vibe of the place, perfect for a relaxing lunch. Definitely worth a visit!

James was amazing ! We had bottomless brunch and even thought it was sooo busy he always had a smile on his face and was happy to serve us, when ordering food my friend was a bit drunk and constantly changing what meal he wanted to order and instead of getting annoyed James laughed and joked with us, we even asked him if he was going out afterwards because he was so great!😂 It’s Ladies day so it was very busy and the service was slower than usual but still everyone was lovely and had a smile on their face and James especially made our night he is an asset to the team

Next was by a rude woman who didn’t even look at us before shouting ‘1 minute’ and was never to been seen again. Eventually they bring out our next drinks without the shots and then told us this is because they need to shot glasses from our table. Why was our table not cleared prior to this and why did we even need to ask for the shots to begin with. So from here we wait another 15 mins for the shots to come out and by this time our ‘bottomless’ brunch is over. Honestly shocking service, wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

First time visit, scanned the menu and went for the steak taster block. Was a fantastic choice. Steak cooked perfectly, all cuts were tasty and no waste. Left the table full and looking forward to a return visit.

Absolutely the best steak I have had in a long time, service was great it wasn’t busy while there but super fast service food was with us in 15 minutes cooked the way I like it and the little beefy popcorn snack was crazy.

Sea bass ok but the house salad disappointing.........avocado conspicuous by its absence and way too much red onion. Service good and staff friendly so not all bad.

What can I say. The food was amazing. It was technically sausages and chips, but it was so much more... wholly recommend the Butchers Bangers Block with a side of Salt + Pepper squid followed by the Belgian chocolate cookie dough. Fan flipping tastic!!

Save your money. Really not good. Burger was sooo dry, chips and onion rings were overcooked and the steak?? £40 for a fillet that tasted of absolutely nothing. Seasoned with literally air. It was really quiet for a Saturday evening and I’m not surprised after tasting the food. Service was okay apart from the guy asking if we want to tip which is weird to ask.

Booked for bottomless lunch for 3 with cocktails. The manager greeted and sat us then introduced us to Lana our waitress. From there we had great food, the best service and everything was delicious both main course and deserts. Will definitely recommend to friends and will certainly be returning.

Classic burger was same as my hoodie - Superdry. The patty was overcooked, the bun did not look fresh.

Great food great service and a place i would recommend, just be aware its a mid to high end establishment with prices to match, not a cheep meal out but worth every penny.

What a place!! Went for bottomless brunch with 14 work colleagues. The food service was incredible but the drink service was a 10/10. We all had a starter the Mac + cheese bites were on point as the for the main which most of us had a steak sandwich which was cooked to perfection. Food came out all together considering we was a large group. The drinks service was fast and was definitely bottomless my glass was never empty. The servers were friendly and always made sure we had drinks. The manager (Laura) was so lovely and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants great food, lovely atmosphere and amazing drinks at a fantastic price ☺️

I recently dined at Bar + Block Steakhouse in Newcastle, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. One of the main issues was with the portion size of the steak. Despite being advertised as a 14-ounce serving, the reality fell far short of expectations. The steak I received was significantly smaller, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and shortchanged.Moreover, the pricing of the food was exorbitant for the quality and quantity offered. While I understand that steakhouse dining can be on the pricier side, the value simply wasn't there. The lacklustre portion sizes coupled with the high prices made for a disappointing dining experience overall.Additionally, the ambience of the restaurant was underwhelming, lacking the upscale atmosphere one would expect from a steakhouse. The service was also lackadaisical, with slow and inattentive waitstaff.Overall, I cannot recommend Bar + Block Steakhouse Newcastle based on my experience. The subpar portion sizes and overpriced menu items make it difficult to justify returning or recommending it to others.

I went for the salmon and my other half went for the short rib, which were both fantastic. Our server recommended the trio of desserts which finished off the meal nicely. Great wine and cocktail selection, will be back.

Amazing welcome from Jordan, seated at a lovely table. We both had the lunch offer menu for appetising. Very filling. Courtesy checked for everycourse. Offered puddings coffees etc. Bill paid cash tip also. Very enjoyable experience.

I visited on a Saturday with my partner for a meal, we wanted to try a different steakhouse and we weren’t disappointed. Small plate style starters were delicious, especially the beef burnt ends. We went for the chateaubriand sharer and all I can say is ‘wow’. Cooked to perfection and served with several sides included. It was great value and a really impressive steak. The waiter mentioned that they butcher their own steaks and you can tell as the quality was amazing. We were too full for dessert but sampled several cocktails from the extensive menu, also great value on a 2 for 1 offer. Server was fantastic and the place had a lively, laid back, atmosphere. We will definitely visit this hidden gem again!

I have just been in today for my dinner with my mam for Mother’s Day, we were greeted by a very pleasant young man who showed us to our table, we ate off the Mother’s Day menu, the food was lovely and the beef was great, all food was tasty and hot and the service was great by a young lady. We visited for Bottomless Lunch on a Saturday and really enjoyed it. The choice of cocktails is great, delicious 2 course lunch and superb fast service. Much better than other Bottomless lunches that I’ve been to before, and it was for a full 2 hours. The main menu sounded lovely too so I plan the return to try that soon. The atmosphere was buzzing, lively background music and a bustling bar.

Brilliant customer service and food was lovely

Food was bland , there was no garnish on the steak and chips, you had to catch staff as they passed if you wanted anything and service was very slow and very over priced for what you got. Would not recommend if you want a good meal and good service.

I ordered the short rib brisket burger which was supposed to come with crispy onions, they were missing, the chips were overdone. The food had been sitting on the counter under the lights for a very long time. The staff were too busy with people drinking to see to diners. The food is expensive and more care should be taken to ensure it is of a decent standard.

We booked Bottomless brunch for my birthday for 7 people. Food was delicious with generous portion sizes and cocktails were made fresh not pre mixed weak cocktails like other bottomless brunch venues. We all felt like it was very good value for money. Staff couldn't be any more friendly they made us feel very comfortable. Thankyou we will definitely be back.

We love Bar n Block in Edinburgh and thought they would all be similar standard. Nope. This was awful. £22.50 for the fish platter. Fish was way overcooked and inedible. It wasn’t cooked over a char grill as advertised. Prawn was inedible. Fries were overcooked.No advertised samphire on the plate. It was sitting under the lights on counter for ages before coming to table, we could see it. Service was very poor. Staff were more interested serving drinks in the bar area. Total waste of £70, with no refund for inedible food. Would never go back. I guess the amount of people in should have told us something. Other restaurants were all busy.

Managed to get a table for 5 without booking. Good range of food and a couple of vegan main dishes which was welcome as often you’re lucky to get one in some places. I’ve been to a few restaurants in the chain and quality and service is always good.

Whilst staying in Newcastle we visited the bar and block! My partner is still doing dry jan even though it’s in feb. We asked the bar tender for advice and settled for the 00 Guinness. As soon as we sat down the glass fell and the drink covered the table and floor. Ben the bar tender came over swiftly mopped the floor and gave us a free pint of Guinness. What lovely service and what a lovely young chap

Lovely food and good service but the experience was ruined by the extremely loud radio show blasting our ears throughout our meal. This was invasive and made the atmosphere horrible and put us off ever returning.

Found this place for breakfast and was surprised at the price being £10 for all you can eat Buffett. Was served by Aiden and he was clear on how things work making it my the experience flow nicely. He made sure my demands were met as I requested poached eggs and porridge and didn’t hesitate to supply.

Had a lovely night dining here last night. Had a meal deal booked in and was attended to by the lovely Aiden. He made sure we were satisfied with our experience. Overall good food. I stayed at the Premier Inn for quite some nights. I would have given 5 stars for food if it wasn’t for the inconsistency of their dishes. I had 2 times the tomato bruschetta and the first time it did not have a sauce on it which it had the 2nd time. The same happened with the rump steak, the first time it did not have a sauce it had on the 2nd time. Still, I recommend this place, especially the fish & chips, rump steak, tomato bruschetta (not the burger) and the chocolate torte for dessert. Also, the breakfast is good.

Wow. Down in Newcastle for a few days and always visit bar and block when I’m down because I know I’ll get outstanding service and food. This time the experience got even better. I am disabled and suffer from anxiety and on tMonday night I asked if there was any chance of a quiet table. Ben my server was extremely welcoming and found me a quiet table. Even asking if staff could do anything to help make my dinning experience less daunting. The whole team especially Ben looked after me and I had a great experience. The fact they genuinely seemed to care ment a lot. Tuesday night I was served by Jordan (I think) who was welcoming and offered me the same table. Again I was looked after by Jordan and another lad whose name I didn’t get. Fantastic customer service from Jordan and the team again. Can’t sing bar and block Newcastle praises enough. Thank you ❤️

Had a lovely meal at this restaurant recently for my partners birthday. All staff went above and beyond to make sure she enjoyed her special day. Steaks cooked to perfection, and amazing cocktails. Even better cus they’re 241 at certain times. Would really recommend
