Crows Nest in Newcastle upon Tyne

It was chockablock as the rugby was on. Good atmosphere. Good Guinness and could see the TVs from anywhere. Staff were sound and quick. Good bar.

Had a burger was dry over cooked

Decent in sceens but v expensive.

Paulicarus had no idea that this pub close to the Uni also sold the first Student brewed beer. TV's were showing footie so we sat on a small raised mezzanine to the rear. This leads to an outside drinking area. Stu Brew Panic Masters 4.5% Pale Ale was the unique brewery. Pretty good. Food smelt enticing.

We had a great time at the Crows Nest, would recommend everybody to have dinner and drink a few pints.

A very nice place in the centre of the City to watch sports and relax with friends. There are many semi private booths with individual TV screens fitted around the establishment. Also there is an extra large screen which is lowered from the ceiling when large sporting events take place. There is indoor and outdoor seating at the front of the Crows nest and also outdoor seating located at the back.

Was in here 13.02.25 with a party of 8, staff were great, from reserving us a table, ordering food, checking in, the whole lot. Would highly recommend, great experience

The Crow’s Nest it a lovely pub and lovely food and the Staff are lovely people and always happy and friendly.

£3.50 for a small bottle of sparkling water is a piss take.

Fui al nido de cuervos a comer algo y tomar algo con mi pareja y el perro. Rápidamente nos recibió un joven encantador que, sin ser preguntado, nos trajo un tazón de agua para el perro y lo acarició. La comida llegó rápido y era delicioso. Buena gama de cervezas de barril y otras bebidas. Lo recomendaría!

Missus & me popped into this Newcastle city centre bar just after midday on Monday 21st Oct '24. We were greeted by Gareth, a very pleasant bar manager who was very helpful in offering samples of several beers which allowed my wife to make an informed choice suitable to her taste. As for food, we ordered several small plates from the "sharing menu". All dishes were very well prepared and presented. Good food, piping hot and reasonabley priced. All in all, we spent a very pleasant couple of hours in the bar and we were well looked after by Gareth and other bar staff. A credit to the hospitality trade. Well done. 👍

I visited this bar last Saturday. Have been here many times and always look forward to returning. Great selection of beers and drinks, authentic old fashioned old school pub interior with a plethora of televisions showing live sport. Staff are brilliant too, Gaz, Declan, Beth and the team really can’t do enough for you. Easily one of the best bars in Town👍

Fantastic pub in the centre of Newcastle. Great selection of drinks & deals for both food & drink. Gareth & his team took great care of us. I can only imagine how busy this gorgeous looking boozer would be on home game day's. Maybe next time🤞👍.

If I could give -1 I would! I myself work in a pub and the lady I got served by was awful and extremely rude. I then politely asked what had been done by wrong and she said “don’t come back because you’re barred” I said but explain what I’ve done and she couldn’t. Extremely unprofessional I have bar experience myself and wanted to know what was the problem?

This is actually a very good and very attractive pub. Has a good core of regular business and the service is very good. Good range of drinks, prices not overly expensive

Had lunch here and it was spot on! The grilled cheese toastie that I had was amazing with it being very cheesy. 10/10 from me! 😋👍

Called in after lunch when we needed a sit-down. Interesting range of real ales and particularly ciders. Knowledgeable staff and good atmosphere.

The service was really good from Neve and Leah. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The small plates are really good value for money and portion sizes exceeded expectations. Family and dog friendly, would definitely recommend to all.

Really delicious food, the lunch deal is really good for money when you can pick pretty much every drink with a sandwich for £10! The service was good even though it was really busy. Staff are friendly and helpful!

Great pub. Excellent selection of ales, really friendly staff had a bit of banter with me, felt like a smaller local pub which was great. Some outside seating which we made use of on a lovely sunny day. Was very pleasantly surprised with this place and would be more than happy to go back.

Great service, good beer selection, better than some other close by establishments. And, I've discovered it got a beer garden round the back! Who knew!!

Pub was clean and the seats were nice. I ordered the curry chips and they were well portioned with sauce. Price was reasonable and Beth the bartender had good service. I would recommend to come here with your friends and family.

Nice cosy interior, prices are high but luckily I am a student so I get a discount which makes the pints slightly more affordable. Nice range of pints too. Don’t know about food as I haven’t ordered any but my funny little friend ordered curry chips which he said were “perfectly portioned.”

I tend to go for their food, particularly their fish and chips, of course and the odd pint, whenever I head into town on a weekend. This time I just went for a few drinks and ended up watching a football match on one of their many screens. They are a good place to go if want to watch a game. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere, and on this occassion, I must give a shout out to Leia, one of the great staff, who cheerily, made sure I didn't have to wait long for another drink. Cheers Leia. Highly recommended.

Very nice staff, food came quickly and was delicious and drinks reasonably price. Highly recommend the Katsu burger. Would definitely come again.

A good environment for all, lots of screens for sports and good food and drinks range available. Staff are very helpful and made our visit hassle free with children and one wheelchair user. Highly recommend visiting!

Great place to watch all the football, drinks are an alright price and the staff are lovely. Service is impeccable, even on matchdays. Especially from Staff members Leah and Shannon, very knowledgeable on the drinks and quick service.

Took my mam here for lunch with my sister following a hospital appointment. It was fairly quiet at the time we arrived and were able to find seats at a table straight away. We placed our orders at the bar and were served in reasonable time after a short wait for the food to be prepared. The bar staff were friendly and provided an excellent service to us while we were there. We will be returning again as I thought my steak and ale pie was delicious and we all enjoyed our lunch.

Good bar, came in twice one night however and the supervisor (?) Declan (the guy with the mullet) was condescending to a particular member of staff on both occasions. Even if the staff member was new and didn't know what to do it didn't feel right at all. For someone supervising members of staff it just seemed like an atrocious way to deal with a potential new member of staff.

Good selection of craft and cask beers as well as a good range of Lilley’s ciders which always rotate. Really nice food at good prices too!

Group of 4,,Two of us ordered the macaroni cheese we sent them straight back was absolutely awful tasted curdled and looked disgusting too. Give the bar staff the credit they replaced the meal with something else and also given a complimentary drink but that should have never been served

Started going to the Crows Nest , Newcastle upon Tyne for lunch once a month with friends.The bar staff, especially Gareth couldn't be more accommodating, always friendly, helpful, nothing is too much of a bother for him. He's an asset to the pub.

This place always friendly, and Gareth and his colleagues are all very helpful and the food reasonably priced along with a drink. What's not to like.

Decent range of drinks (I had a Wylam Jakehead - the Cloud water was finished) and good for sports watching with one big screen and multiple smaller screens (I was there for Arsenal Vs NUFC 24/02/24). I didn't eat but what went passed looked good - recommended

For a Friday night in town, taking the kids to eat here was okay and could be booked in advance. The pub was busy, with what appeared to be a pub quiz going on, and our reserved table wasn't ready, as people had taken over it. The staff quickly got the table ready, but it was over 40 minutes before food was brought to our table. The staff were polite and welcoming, but without music, the overall atmosphere was of loud chatter. The heat near the bar was unbearable and we were pleased to be near the windows where it was cooler. Still, the pub is cosy, despite needing a few repairs to chairs. We ordered a range of dishes and the food was generally good, especially the 'award winning' (according to the menu) steak and ale pie. The burger was tasty and the kids meals were good, but limited. The disappointment was the accompanying veg with the pie (I've never seen such a small amount of mash on a plate) and the small volume of sides with the burger left the plate looking empty (see photos).

They have Rivet Catcher on draught so I think this place is amazing! :)

Came here on a whim and om glad I discovered this pub. What a lovely atmosphere and it feels like a wonderfully old school pub. I had the fish and chips, which were lovely and I'm not a fan of peas so didn't want them...

This is a very good city centre bar, traditional decor and a small outdoor area. It's spacious and has a good selection of ales and lagers. Very handy for a bus or metro.
