Excellent place for lunch, unusual options, plenty of vegan choices, dog friendly - perfect! I couldn't finish my lunch and I'm greedy, a top notch feed! Kind and friendly staff, will definitely go again very soon.

Went to the counter order 2 coffee and 2 cake , was told there would be a wait said ok , table at side of us all eating except 1 who had to wait all had nearly finished .another table had finished food and drinks hadn't arrived, a table arrived after us and got there coffee and cake before us , all the food looked amazing but the service was manic ,

Ordered using the QR code as we sat upstairs which was easy and quick, food was all really good, really enjoyed the chicken gyros

Visited on Sunday 27th October . Food of high standard but service poor . Had to request milk for our drinks . No apology that it hadn't been served infact no words ushered the waiter skulked off then forgot us and still didn't bring any . Seemed very lack lustre in his work. Went up to the bar to ask for milk from another staff member . Would think I'd asked for blood from a stone ..No smile no apology just a huff and a tiny bottle of milk . So I asked for 2 ! Shame really as we spent nearly 60 pounds on breakfast for 4 . Paying upfront is a bit cheeky asking for tips as I gave a tip before the not so great service ..lesson learned . Certain staff need to up their game

Superb selection of breakfast choices, prompt service by friendly staff. Pancakes with streaky bacon and syrup with blueberries made for a welcome change. Great atmosphere!

We visited for a quick breakfast before travelling home from a weekend in Saltburn. Signals is a very comfortable and pleasant independent cafe. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Service also good. Would definitely recommend. My only regret is we don’t visit the bar the night previous!

Didn't get to eat as they wanted me to use a QR code to order or go to the til so I asked about payment. Was told its card only so I left. I don't spend my money in card only establishments.

Attended last Sunday afternoon, the place was busy, but well staffed. Staff were constantly working, very efficient & friendly. Food was good value with decent portions. Very good gluten free choices & dog friendly. The dining area and toilets were both very clean & maintained.

Ordered two hot drinks and two cakes from the counter. The cakes took over 15mins to arrive with the drinks 5mins later. Shop was not particularly busy

Came in for coffee and cake…lots of cake to choose from. Lemon cake was delicious! I do like good coffee and really really enjoyed my coffee here. Friendly staff too and quick service. Recommended. Will have to come back when hungry as there look lots of nice meals to eat too.

Such a great venue. We’ve tried several times to eat here when staying in Saltburn and finally managed today with breakfast. Loved it! Lots of seating inside and out, really friendly staff, great coffee and delicious breakfast. Looks like it’d also be great in the evening- will try again on our next visit. Also dog friendly!

My review should be for the local bakery, since that’s where I eventually bought my breakfast (great pasty). Waited 21 minutes to be served then I left. Maybe my face didn’t fit.

Great greeting very polite. Drinks took a little while to arrive. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and the froyo, my friend also ordered bacon pancakes. The pancakes were covered in sauce, too much sauce it overwhelmed the pancakes entirely. The chicken that my friends mom ordered was cold. The chips were bangin tho. 2/5 The friend - 1.5/5 (the guy was friendly though smiles so wide)

Birthday brunch with friends, we had coffee & cakes & reserved the table to come back for a late lunch after a mooch around the shops & beach on a wet & windy Sunday! Staff were superb & the food was fantastic! 👌🏻🥰

Friendly staff, good menu choice and despite being quite busy it felt relaxed and you don't feel rushed. Not the cheapest but the quality and service were excellent

Great little cafe with an upper floor -in case you look through the windows and think it’s full - as I’ve done before! Food was fresh and very tasty - you can order at the table through your mobile too. Their own IPA is very nice. Good vegan and dairy free options available.

We'd eaten fish and chips already this week and have had plenty of toasted sandwiches too, so wanted something different for lunch. This dog-friendly place turned out to be the right choice for that. We walked in and found welcoming, friendly and helpful staff - with our dog we could sit anywhere inside or out, which made a nice change. We didn't seem to wait long for our food and it looked amazing. The wellness bowl looked like something from Wagamama but turned out to be a cold dish, throwing my partner slightly (although he can miss details like this on menus) but after tasting it he soon didn't mind, saying it was really fresh, very spicy and nice. My lamb kofta from the specials was really nice and (we must've been tired) I hadn't realised came with a side dish of chips. Quite sizeable for lunch but, given how nice it looked, we managed to squeeze in some chocolate cake. Overall, a very enjoyable lunch in nice surroundings.

Very nice food however massively let down by the slow service. If you sit outside you have to order from the serving hatch which was one person making drinks as well as taking orders. Meanwhile several staff were stood around inside but refused to take my order as they would only deal with indoor customers. Took 45 minutes just to place my order, and the food then came within 10 minutes. When it did come it was really tasty but please please sort out the ordering process!

Conveniently located near the station at Saltburn. Lovely little cafe. Just a coffee and cakes stop which were very good. Efficient and friendly service. They re open for evening meals from Thursday and they menu looked really good.

Dreadful service, currently being ran by young lads, drinks came after the food, was half empty, but was sat for 10 minutes and eventually had to go to the counter to make an order, had poached egg on toast, with no choice of brown bread and paid £9.95! An 80p breakfast at most...

Called for breakfast and the place looked very nice, unfortunately the breakfast wasn't. The beans and mushrooms were very good but everything else on the plate was very poor, bacon was rock hard and looked like it had been re heated several times, sausages tasted odd and bagel was difficult to cut. The whole meal was luke warm at best and a big disappointment. On a plus the waiting staff and the coffee were very good

Great food, especially the range of vegetarian great choices and also gluten free. Lovely service from Tina who has a smile and cheerful approach and is very good at making you feel comfortable in the cafe. Definitely a place to recommend to others 👍

Went for brunch. Highly recommend, amazing menu with good wholesome food. Staff are always lovely. Ambiance of the place is so pleasant when I go in. Dog friendly so that’s always a positive.

Signals has been a home from home for us for years. The service has always been next level and it’s just such a class place to grab food/coffee/beer. The veggie options are plentiful and banging. Sometimes I’ve got a little one with me and it couldn’t be more friendly for kids if you’re wanting to grab a coffee or a bite. There’s not much that comes close to how great Signals and their staff are in Saltburn.

Amazing local cafe with great staff, atmosphere and even better food. The menu changes throughout the year but never disappoints - if it’s your first time try any of their loaded fries!

Been coming to signals for a good few years now and not once have I had a bad experience, food and service is always great, siggys is the first place that comes to mind when I'm in saltburn and feeling peckish!

Family friendly, cosy atmosphere & great food. Multi purpose cafe/taproom, tend to visit through the day with my Son (loves the parmo fries). Has great vibe on an evening/weekend for drinks with friends.

Stopped off for a coffee in the sunshine on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good and we were acknowledged at the hatch quickly. Coffee was lovely and it’s a great place for a spot of people watching. We didn’t sample the food so unable to comment. Lost a star due to a sticky table which transferred in to my partners coat.

Mad Mary's burgers at Signals. Absolutely gorgeous burgers. The coronation chicken burger was delicious. Not forgetting the fries are fantastic. Definately worth a visit.

I was absolutely disgusted with not only the food but the service. I took my 2 grandchildren aged 7 and 8. Firstly I asked for sausage chips and gravy, to be told we don’t have gravy !!!. I then ordered egg, chips 2 sausages, 1 sausage and chips, cheese and ham panini with chips. 2 children’s lemonade and cappuccino. This came to £36:55. When it arrived I was appalled, egg and 3 sausages on a side plate, 2 bowls of chips, I asked where is her sausage, to be told it’s on his plate, where do you ever go and they put 2 part meals one a plate. no offer of cutlery, I had to ask, to be told you get your own from over there. I had to scape raw cheese off my panini as it was half melted. Cheesy chips were all scrappy in the bottom. Man came and said I understand you are unhappy, you can take some cakes home fee of charge. Sorry but after that experience I don’t want to be insulted by an offer of cakes, could have at least offered to reduce my bill. I will not be going there again or advising anyone else to. I could have taken them to McDonalds and got a better experience and cheaper, because at that price I expected a better one.

We always enjoy the food and coffee here. The loaded fries and breakfasts are a must! The staff are amazing, helpful, patient and informative. However the owner appears to prance around putting on a show for attention while his staff cope under great stress. He was no help at all, turning the music up to ear-splitting levels, hugging everyone like long lost pals and making a big noise. Then disappearing upstairs. The card machine often ceases up because of the WiFi being overloaded. Maybe reconsider taking cash as we don't appreciate hanging around for ages to pay while your staff could be serving. Sort yourself out Mr Signals! You are quite literally an embarrassment. Your customers and admirable staff deserve better.

Discovered Signals on our first night in Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Lovely craft beers, great Mexican food and fantastic live music. Staff were really friendly and informative too. Shame it’s only open as a bar on Friday and Saturday nights!

The food and drinks were average. Very kind staff and the interior of the cafe is very beautiful and cozy. (We got 2 egg sandwiches, mocha and peach tea)

this is the most creative hot chocolate I have ever seen in my 15 years on this planet.

The food was excellent, with a wide range of breakfast options, including a lot for veggies. The vegetarian breakfast flatbread was a beauty. You can have your breakfast items on a plate, in a stack, in a wrap, on a bagel, in a sandwich.. probably various other ways if you can think 'em up. If you're sitting upstairs you have to order through the QR code (downstairs gets table service) which is mostly ok but they don't have options for certain things like decaf coffee (which you have to go downstairs and order separately). The vibes are definitely more brunch cafe downstairs and more bar/taproom upstairs but both work for both I imagine. Tons of dogs yay!

We requested all the chocolate on the side (appreciate an unusual request) and the server did not bat an eyelid. Came exactly as requested. Three small pancakes with plenty of caramel sauce, pieces of shortbread, different types of chocolate, whipped cream and a chocolate sauce. Main menu didn't look exactly to our taste when we looked online. But having seen everyone's else's food come out, we'd definitely like to try some of the more unusual dishes. They also have a cabinet with a selection of cakes which all looked very tasty. Nice clean toilets and very good service. Despite us taking a long time to decide and making strange requests. Google maps did try to bring us through a private road (walking up from the coast). If you get stuck, you can get through the station alongside Sainsbury's. Would definitely recommend and we will return ourselves.

Visited a few times, very popular place, however service is pretty speedy. Called for breakfast good quality and some variety of options like breakfast wraps.

Used to enjoy coming here but today ordered coffees & scone. 20 minutes later still waiting even though people came in after us and they breakfasts arrived before us. Asked the waitress on how long for our coffees she then returned with 2 miniature cups which i had asked for extra hot these were warm then we waited again for the scone (finished coffee by the time this came). Only card payments allowed now and you either have to order by the app or at the till.

Visited for coffee and cake on NYE afternoon. It was very busy but staff were so helpful and attentive. Good atmosphere and nice coffee and cake. So would recommend.

High prices, coffees came 10mins after the food?? And the hot chocolate deluxe for my daughter £3.20!! Was a basic water and spoon of chocolate mix in a takeaway cup! Disgrace!

Signal cafe is a great spot we've found when visiting Saltburn. Their paninis are my favorite. Easy self serve order online, and quick service from staff bringing the food and drink over.

Christmas Eve, Festive Flatbread. Simply excellent! It was busy, but very well organised. And dog friendly too! Recommended!

Lovely place! We went for breakfast and for lunch the following day; one of the best katsu curry loaded fries I've had in a long time. Lots of tasty red chillies and black onion seeds bringing extra punch to a classic, with really crispy panko chicken cutlets.

The cafe is great for a dog friendly venue and the food and atmosphere is good. However the app ordering system upstairs is OK online but chaos comes after that as the staff had no idea of who ordered what and could not relate the app order to the recorded table number. Also the dog did not get his expected complimentary sausage. We will go back again and try the staff service on the ground floor when less busy!

Went in for the first time today. Was very impressed with the whole experience. Dog friendly, food was amazing, staff were all lovely and helpful. Decor was gorgeous. Will definitely be back again.

Greed comes into it. Whoever owns this place is raking it in. Check profits online yet they charge for doggy sausages we do the rounds for dog cafes and this one will be crossed off. For a brekky and a sandwich 2 cakes 27 pounds plus. All because its saltburn gives you rights to charge more. The drinks we had to go back in and ask for AFTER the food came. No salt sugar ect on the tables. 1 pound for a sh.. sausage each. Never again. Only positive was the food was average the cakes were amazing. Teas came in a paper cup. I. Actually mad writing this

Great service . Food was great especially the vegetarian options. Note. If you eat downstairs, it is table service but upstairs you have order via QR code. Also stopped for tea and cakes, great choice of cakes.

We have visited on 3 separate occasions. The first 2 visits were great and our food both served indoors and as takeaway was excellent. Sadly our 3rd trip was not so good. Soggy lettuce and greasy halloumi not a great combo for a wrap! Avoid if very busy as the food felt rushed...or someone else was cooking on that day.

Friendly locally run cafe and taproom. We both had the teriyaki nourish bowl, they were lovely. Good beer as well. Well worth a visit.

Used the hole in the wall to the side, making use of the seating outside. Staff are friendly and the detox smoothie is really tasty but a little pricey, however the coffee and tea is priced the same as everywhere in the area. The only place around the station facing the shops with outside seating that get's the sun.

Sandwiches & drinks were good. Good selection. Lovely place, friendly staff. We sat outside as we had a dog. Would definitely recommend this place.

My family and I dropped in for lunch today. The food was great and there lots of options to choose from. I had the smash burger with fries which was £11 and worth paying for, it was delicious. The sun was shining so we sat outside and ordered from the side hatch, the food was brought out to us. I would eat here again, I recommend it to anyone.

Lovely modern gem. Food was amazing and nosing at other people’s food it looked just as good. Nice atmosphere lovely service, nice and clean, we treated ourselves to some smoothie drinks as-well and they were divine. Seating outside, dogs welcome

Really delicious coffee & food, with options like breakfast bao bun & warm banana bread with yoghurt & banana chips. Great service & atmosphere.

We found this to be the best place for breakfast in the area. Excellent selection (from banana loaf through to a Full English). We found prices to be very reasonable and service very quick to outside tables.

Highly recommend this place and will definitely come again. The chicken gyro was delicious and the rest of the menu looked great.

Have visited many times and never disappointed, Went for breakfast, had a full English , bacon ciabatta and blueberry pancakes , all were a good portion, cooked well and so tasty! Staff are so lovely and friendly , always feel so welcome .

We visited this fantastic bistro twice during our holiday to Saltburn-By-The-Sea- once for breakfast and again during the really busy food festival. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. She helped us find our way around the town and suggested lots of great things to do. She also helped us sort a way to walk from Skelton to the town on the Cleveland Way which had spectacular views of the viaduct. The food was amazing and such high quality. Our dog got a fuss and a free sausage which is a lovely touch! The owner managed to accommodate us when they were extremely busy and we tried a few things from the menu that we would highly recommend. The place was buzzing and very friendly. We cannot recommend this place enough! There’s an upstairs area where you can order on an app which is very convenient.

Sat in the window and have a lovely breakfast sarnie and tea BUT seems archaic to be using sauces in plastic little packets in 2023. Why? I really hope they get rid of these!

Plenty of things on them menu and there is extra seating upstairs which is a bit more chilled. The smoothies are so fresh and very tasty! Panini was gorgeous too, as was the side salad. Would return.

Undoubtedly the best full English ever had, and we are in our 70's and well travelled. Decided to visit Saltburn and have a late brekkie. Signals menu looked good. Full English was beautifully presented with half bagel instead of toast. Homemade baked beans - a small amount of chopped tomatoes added. Perfectly cooked mushrooms with a twist. Egg perfect, tasty bacon and sausage and hash brown. The whole plate was roasting and stayed hot until finished. Filter coffee was very nice too. We were very impressed by the quality of food, the speedy and pleasant manner of the staff and the modern, clean, comfortable cafe. Extensive menu to suit all as well. Excellent.

Trying to 'posh up' a traditional English breakfast, messing with the beans & serving it covered in pepper??? If I want pepper on my breakfast I know how to use the shaker. Asked several times for extra milk for tea & they kept forgetting. Was told air con was on upstairs & it was like an oven. This place could be excellent with a bit more attention to detail.

I wouldn’t bother, it’s expensive dirty and the service was terrible, lots of better places to drink in Saltburn.

Excellent a Sunday visit on a sunny day place was busy with inside and outside in use. Food was excellent huge portions and we did need a container to take some home definitely on for a return visit

If you go to Saltburn-by-the-Sea then you have to eat here. The gyros are delicious and the breakfast bao buns were the most fantastic thing ever.

Do not come its a two tear service my food came in a paper bag but the next table came on a nice plate

Had a beer and some French fries in here. Bar man and cafe staff were really helpful and friendly, around 10 ales I’ve never heard of on offer, which I loved. Loved it in here.

I love signals, their smoothies and nourish bowls are delicious and I regularly order to collect. I also eat in regularly, bring friends, family here so to give signals a mediocre review pains me. The food is always good, could use some more gluten free bread options though. Service however has dropped dramatically of late, long wait times for drinks when the restaurant is half full, asking 3 and 4 times for drinks after a half hour wait, it isn't what you expect especially when there were alot of staff on duty. However, when Jo I think her name is who has the cool coloured hair is on duty the service is on point from all. I'll be back but a couple of tweaks needed to return to form.
