Quite often come in alone to get work done, Cory on the bar always makes time to have a chat make sure everything is okay whilst still working hard, I like the fact that I’m always spoke to like we’ve been mates for years rather than just another customer coming and going. Food is cheap enough and always spot on, beers are fairly priced too!

Next to our hotel dead as a dodo did not have my best tiple brandy good views but a waste of a large building.

We visited The Cove in Tynemouth on a beautiful sunny day — a group of seven of us hoping for a relaxing meal. On arrival, we were informed there would be a 45-minute wait for food, which we were happy to accept as we planned to enjoy a few drinks in the meantime. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. Despite ordering drinks straight away, it took 15 minutes for them to arrive — including a bottle of cider that simply needed opening, which made the delay baffling. The food then took over an hour to arrive, and when it did, the quality was shockingly poor. The steak wrap from the tapas menu was particularly bad: the steak was so tough it had to be removed entirely, and the chorizo had a strange, paste-like texture and tasted old. One member of our group waited over an hour and fifteen minutes before giving up entirely and requesting a refund. Service was equally disappointing. Staff appeared uninterested and disengaged. We had to ask three times for cutlery and eventually went inside to get it ourselves — by which point the food was already on the table. Overall, this was a frustrating and unpleasant experience. The food, service, and attitude of the staff were all well below acceptable standards. A real shame given the great location and weather.

Very nice decor and fabulous staff cocktails but the foodis average. Definitely recommend for a quick drink and chat.

We always visit Rene's when we are in Tynemouth for coffee and delicious cake.. Sadly, today, Rene's had gone! The latest review was January 2025. We miss you Rene :(

We come here quite often with our kids, and we are never disappointed. The staff are always very pleasant, the food is always delicious and there is a friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in.

This is perfect for a family meal out! This is the second time we have visited since it’s been under new ownership and it did not disappoint! Portions are generous and food was delicious. Staff are friendly and happy to help and had a great atmosphere

I go here a lot these days...... nice and relaxed, the mince 'n dumplings are particularly sublime.

When Crusoe's with my little girl after a trip to the aquarium, she loved her hot chocolate with all the trimmings and loved her VERY chocolatey cookie
