Vine con mi esposa por mi cumpleaños, esta fue nuestra primera visita a este pub en particular. Como había bastantes coches aparcados en el borde de la carretera decidimos probar el aparcamiento, que habíamos leído que era `trucado`. Es algo interesante, ya que es un sistema de una sola dirección, y una salida no parecía obvio cuando estaba en el aparcamiento, pero hay una salida! Cuando está dentro es espacioso, y una mesa estaba lista, con asientos cómodos. Servicio amable en el bar y pedimos pescado con patatas fritas, y aprovechamos la oferta de una botella de vino por £ 5. La comida era excelente, con patatas fritas bien cocinadas y un rebozado muy sabroso en el pescado; el vino también era muy agradable. Sin duda volveré de nuevo.

Visitado con la familia, la mesa estaba muy bien presentada, cubiertos y salsas en la mesa, fue recibido con una cálida bienvenida, y se hizo consciente con si el uno o dos platos no están disponibles. El personal era cálido y acogedor.

Amigos nuestros de Wakefield estaban de visita y mi esposa y yo los llevamos al arado. A la llegada nos recibió calurosamente Lorraine que ha trabajado en el pub durante algún tiempo. Lorraine es muy amable, competente, trabajador y hace que la gente sea muy bienvenida y aconseja a la gente sobre los menús. Gama de bebidas y verificaciones con la gente para ver si están contentos con sus comidas. en mi caso le aconsejé a Lorraine que había ciertos artículos que no quería en mi comida. Ella estaba más que feliz de asegurarse de que los artículos no estaban en mi plato. El menú tiene una muy buena elección de comidas y como yo estaba haciendo "enero seco" ella fue más que útil para sugerir la gama surtida. Lorraine sacó las comidas puntualmente y caliente y estaban deliciosos. Todos en la compañía disfrutaron de sus comidas y dijeron que definitivamente volverían. El pub está muy bien decorado. Cálido y los asientos son excelentes. El personal es muy amable y servicial, pero Lorraine supera esto con sus habilidades de gente encantadora amable manera y excelente servicio. Ella es un activo para el pub y hace que cada visita sea especial.

Teníamos el chisporroteo Tandoori que era muy agradable. El chisporroteo del bistec fue un poco decepcionante, ya que inicialmente pedí el Rump de 8 oz, pero no tenían ninguno, y me dijeron que solo tenían un rump de 5 oz, así que opté por eso. Además me preguntaron si quería un segundo trozo de tomate ya que no tenían hongos! Realmente el martes a la hora de comer! Bueno, cambiaron mis papas por una ensalada. (Solía pedir patata chaqueta, pero ahora no haces eso!) El pub estaba ocupado y esperamos un rato.

Vinimos aquí con mi esposa, hija y su prometido (y nuestro perro). El personal era excelente, dándonos una cálida bienvenida y atendiendo a nuestras necesidades. La comida era excelente, no tardó mucho en llegar y el personal comprobó que estábamos contentos. Recomendaría a fondo una visita (o dos).

I live in Nottingham but visit my partner in Newcastle every weekend. We have been been to so many sizzling pubs in both Newcastle and Nottingham and this one is the absolute best by far! The food is out of this world and the staff are lovely and friendly.

Nice atmosphere, great food. I particularly liked the chicken tikka masala and the chocolate fudge cake. My mum liked the chicken pie and the lemon and raspberry mousse. Will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Excellent staff, food and prices. Lovely local pub. Always kept spotless and food is so cheap and really tasty. New menu is fab.

Really lovely village pub, part of a chain but the staff are excellent and it makes feel like an independent establishment. The food is always good and served quickly and there's quite often deals on the drinks or menu if you're signed up for their newsletter. Kids menu is great, covers the basics and has 2 price options for children over or under 6 years old. Its not fine dining but it's comforting pub grub and always fills us up nicely. Parking available at the rear of the pub and there's some outdoor seats available which are great when it's sunny. They also have lots of TVs to watch sport, not my thing but lots of people do enjoy it.

Great place to go canny good atmosphere aswell

This is a decent pub really, but it's not to my taste. Visiting on a Saturday evening when sport was being televised was probably not a great time unless you want to watch and join the audience. It was just too loud for me. Even in the far corner of the room it was difficult to talk to someone sitting next to me. Drinks were typically expensive IMHO, £11.30 for a lager and glass of wine. The local clubs serve drinks a great deal cheaper than this. But staff were pleasant and there was no rowdiness.

Improve the menu to much fast food no healthy food on menu and hot dinners fresh vegetables etc mince and dumplings sausage and mash

Every thing was excellent the service the atmosphere the ONLY and only thing was steak was slightly dry when ordered medium rare but every other meal was spot on

The Groupon offer was taken. Most things we ate were from the freezer. Vegetables were soft and soggy. The thing that I really took umbrage with was paying £2 each for sizzling platter. It came out and WASN'T even sizzling and the food was just warm. What a con!! The response.... standard cut and paste.... We’re sorry our food wasn’t up to our normal standards. This is not the norm for us please accept my apologies. Steve & team Well sorry just doesnt cut it. Take my cash and run.

Fantastic service, staff very friendly, food was amazing and the young bar lad was so lovely (David) the place itself is so warmly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place with out a doubt.

Wife's food was great. My food was average chicken was very small and tasteless. Very cold in pub put heating on or get log fire.

The food was excellent, the staff couldn't be more welcoming despite being a couple of staff short.

Meals stop serving early but still good all round bar

Great staff. We were looked after very well indeed and the staff were friendly, curteous and very attentive. Fantastic. Table was set out beautifly for Christmas Day and although some of the veg was slightly overcooked it did not spoil our enjoyment of a very generous and tasty meal. Thankyou to all of the staff.

If you're looking for reasonably priced drinks, a delightful atmosphere, and lovely staff to match this is the place for you. I always feel so welcome here and my dog even more so, all thanks to Steve and the team, thoroughly recommend.

Came In and was greeted by a lovely young lady called Chelsea. She has a lovely smile and made me feel very welcome, ordered 2 loaded surf and turfs med rare and they were perfect. The prawns had so much flavour and the steak was to die for. Credit to the chef. Will be returning very soon!

Ended up get all money back from both meals, as it was tasteless and under cooked.

Came in and greeted with a warm welcome by Lorraine which she never fails to do, we then sat down and ordered food. I went for the ultimate mixed grill and can I just say…. WOW miller and Carter who?? Asked for the steak medium… it was perfect. The chicken was moist and cooked to perfection also. I can’t recommend this place enough for the warm atmosphere and friendly bar staff. All round great experience!!

Always used to drink here came in afternoon for somit to eat got a mixed grill ordered steak medium rare got.more well done I had eaten alotnof the sides but they re cooked my meal and it was spot on adsalutly melt in your mouth staff are amazing here and food is amazing been a few times this was only time I had a issue but they fixed the issue and it was perfect

Went for lunch with friends. Not many in but food was brilliant. I had the scampi, hubby had the fish both were well cooked and lovely.

Sadly won't be returning. Although staff were pleasant and ensured food allergies didn't cause a problem they have no idea how to cater for people with allergies. Management please address this issue. Just because someone has allergies they don't have to eat half an hour before the rest of their family!!!

Canny bar. Always great atmosphere. Good customers good crack. Canny bar staff, can always have a laugh with them. To top it off, decent beers and good value food. Highly recommend.

We had a great meal with my grandchildren and daughter in law at the Plough. They really enjoyed there burgers and build your own Sunday . The steak was cooked to my liking as I asked. Staff where great and nothing was to much trouble . Making time to talk to the grandchildren . Will be going again . When I’m up this way . 😃

My food came out absolutely cremated, sent it back to be told that the 'chef' was on a break so I couldn't have a replacement or basically anything to eat. At that point my partner had already started his meal.

Served by Ali today, she was super friendly and very warm and welcoming. Left me staying for more than one that was originally planned. Could see her running this pub with ease.!!

My wife and I called in for a bite to eat and we both had the small rump steak. It was a beautiful piece of meat, well cooked and presented really well. The staff were amazing and so helpful. A big shout out to Ali, Lisa, Zack and Will. Thank you.

We stopped in for drinks, my partner is severely allergic to peanuts so we did not eat as most of their food cannot be assured that peanuts are not involved (however that is to the discretion of those with the allergies) however the wine and beer is reasonably priced, they provide a wonderful range of beverages, a pool table and a warm atmosphere. The general goers are middle aged or elderly men, if you are a young couple/group be warned the atmosphere may differ as we found.

I love The Plough, it offers excellent value and abroad variety of drinks, tasty meals and delicious puddings, there's an app which makes ordering, paying and leaving a tip a doddle, and the staff are all lovely and happy to help. It retains its old country pub vibe and decor whilst offering sports and games. A charming and welcoming place at any time of the day!

Not been in this pub for years till recently. Lunched here 3 times in the last few weeks and really enjoyed it every single time. Some minor issues with ordering on one occasion, but the staff were fantastic and we left happy. In fact, the staff are a credit to the place, so friendly and welcoming.

Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Great Selection of Food. Food was delicious, served on time and great value. Couldn't improve anything in terms of service/food/drinks however place is looking a little dated but that wouldn't necessarily stop me from visiting. Maybe a regular weekly pub quiz or some entertainment would be nice.
