Good range menu. Portion sizes are very generous. Cocktails 2 for £10. Friendly staff. Recommend the steak pie and the mince and dumpling

Visited a few times recently and every experience has been brilliant. The food is amazing. Service is friendly and quick. Atmosphere is lovely, it’s always quiet. Food is very expensive but worth it. Lots of parking spaces and easy to get to via bus too!

Very cramped conditions, could also do with larger car park. Service was ok, Mam chose place so we went there. Food very filling although I found gammon rather tough. One thing for those who can't eat much - you can get small servings here if needed.

All the food here is fantastic, love the steak & ale pie. Only downside usually love mince & dumpling, but the dumpling here is very stodgy, like there is too much suet in it, but rest of food great.

My wife and I have just had excellent meal ( steak and ale pie ) from the small plates menu ( 2for £14 ) and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. The portions were ample,well prepared and presented. We will certainly be returning in the future.👌

went today when passing. Potato skins for starters, excellent. I had the fish and chips, my wife had the scampi and the Grandaughter had Lasagne. All extremely tasty,hot and well presented. Definitely good value for money.

Decided to try for our tea. After not been for a while. Food used to be cracking in here. 2 courses £10.95. Menu Changed regularly. All fresh food well cooked and well presented. Now £15.99 for 2 courses with limited choice. Well 1 choice. Food took forever to come. Very quiet now. Was always busy on a tea time if not sometimes to busy. Drastically went down hill Again after it had picked up significantly. £16 for potato skins followed by barbecue chicken . No imagination in specials . £7-8 at sambuca for skins and chicken dish. Can’t see this management lasting.

Booked a surprise 60th birthday for my friend in the conservatory and it was just amazing. From start to finish the staff were incredible. When we arrived to set up all the staff including kitchen staff where so happy to help (just wished I got names but everyone were AMAZING) Food was excellent, so much and such good value. My friend loved the afternoon as did all the guests, would definitely recommend for a private party. Sun was out and everyone spilled outside later into the afternoon, just the best for all the family. Thank you to the bar staff, kitchen chaps and the chef...we will return x

As a change we decided to cal into the pub for some lunch. It was quiet with 5 or 6 people already dinning. The menu is quiet large for a small pub with some variety, my wife ordered the Lams Liver, i went for the Cheese and Steak Sandwich. Its says they serve real ale, but in side no real ale available. Service was slow our order took over 25 minutes, when it was served both meals looked nice. My wife started to eat her liver and she noticed it didnt taste nice as if its been over cooked, my sandiwch was ok bit little greasy. The lady serving asked if everything was ok, my wife said the liver was not nice, she went away and the manager came over my wife explained the situation. She went and said she checked with the kitchen and then offered her a pudding as a replacement!! No offer of a refund, i finished what i had then we left! We wont be going back, the least they could have done was refund the my wifes main course

I was there last Wednesday for lunch with my two sisters and two sister's in law's we all went for the smaller plates for our food and we weren't disappointed. Among other meals do you do afternoon tea ? We will be returning. The young lady that served us was lovely and polite. This makes all the difference when you visit places like yourself.

Food was rather disappointing, service great, quick and good atmosphere in the venue but the quality of food let it down badly. I went for the stack burger, the chips were just warm and ok, whether the burgers were made fresh or not they tasted like they were budget frozen type and very gristly and not juicy or particularly tasty. The bacon was inedible, it's was not burnt or crispy but leather like in texture, even looking at it you could see so not good enough to be sent out like that. Enjoyed the visit and would return for drinks but food needs improving for me to want to dine in again.

Food was excellent but the service was poor waited over an hour and 15 minutes. There was 11 of us and one of our party was served her meal about 40 mins before the rest of us so she ate aline. Other people coming I. Twos and threes were served quickly.

Conservatory very cold Waited over one / half hours between starters & mains. Had to ask for our meals twice. Meals not good quality

Disappointing meal. Although it says a wait of 30 minutes is expected we didn't think it applied to the wait between courses! Waitress apologize but the manager couldn't care less. Limited menu.

We had a table in a cold conservatory, where the manager said the heating was on, but we had to put our coats on to keep warm. Food took an hour to arrive and was average. Won't be going back again

Service without a smile! Disapointing food and pricey drinks. Food was hot but 1 meal tasted bland and the other too salty mince and dunpling - Dumpling was nice mince was bland. Mash potato was very lumpy i couldnt eat it. Cheese burger & chips. Burger said came with smoked cheese, looked just like those cheap slices of orange cheese. No onions on the burger like menu stated. Slaw was horrible tasted sour. Chips were very very salty. Overall disappointed after i had a lovely meal in decemeber and the begining of january. I thought it had its flair back, obviously not possiblythe worst meal iv eaten in the killingworth arms ever . I'd rather go to the plough down the street half the cost double the taste.

Meals beautiful, not a complicated menu but meals cooked to perfection. Waitress perfect 5* for her too, well worth the tip she got! Taking Mam for Mother's Day meal, she thouroughly enjoyed hers. I did as usual and took dishes back - when you've previously worked in catering and pubs you automatically carry on doing that wherever you go. It's appreciated all the more by staff because you know what what their jobs are about, you also know the amount of work they do! Keep it up, you're doing a grand job!

1st time in since referb/new owners. Made to feel very welcome. We went for a few drinks and late lunch. I ordered 2 tapas and my husband ordered steak pie. Both served with hand cut chips which were amazing. The pie was outstanding. Gravy to die for. Reasonable prices and a wide selection available.

Have been to a lot of pubs for Sunday lunch and I must say this is the best one so far. Everything fresh and spot on roast beef to die for. Everything was also lovely and hot. Will definitely be back! Recommend 💯%

Have been going here for a few years now, still can't fault the food, carvery, specials board, menu, all good. 14/06/2022 The pub has just recently reopened after being closed for a while. New management, new cook, no carvery for the time being just the meals from the menu. 10/02/2024 Another take over. It could survive this time, a menu to suit the majority of people at the average prices of today. Ignore all previous photos of the food here as the majority aren't available.

Brilliant pub, gorgeous carvery and decent prices

Under new-new management, and re-opened! Looks great after the refit and back to the warmer feel it once had. The new staff can be slow but are friendly and mean well. Now the 'new pub' buzz has died down there seem to be less desirable (and often suspiciously young) customers creeping back in to spoil the friendly vibes. Manager needs to take a firmer grip. Nice to see it back and doing so well, one of the better pubs in Killi.

Great for food, service great - almost back to how it was ie a great family pub with grub - only let down a foul mouthed customer who used every swear word going - 2 or 3 ladies left as a result. If you want to bring more families in stop the swearing customers whether he's a regular or not.

Lovely little pub, especially now its been done out & taken over. Had Sunday lunch & have to say it was the best 1 I've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend & will be back! Only downside is the parking but can't be helped.

The pub opened up again under new management this week so we went for Sunday lunch today. Carvery with a good choice of meats or mince and dumplings. Wide selection of veg, piping hot and fresh. The pub was really inviting and lovely and warm. Great to see some familiar staff too. Will be back 😀

Local independent gem in the village! Weve just been for their 7 course tasting menu and what a delight it was - perfectly cooked food in a relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff who make you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. Hoping they do another of these evenings soon so we can share a great experience with friends. The weekday meals are beautiful too and a great value midweek treat. Highly recommended, particularly as they are independent and a great team working hard to make customers happy!

Fast service and the meal itself didn't take long in arriving too. We had a lovely lunch of mince and dumplings (dumplings were light and fluffy) and the veggies were cooked to perfection. The meal was just shy of £30 for the two large meals and a glass of red for me. It wasn't too busy, so not too noisy and all of the other customers were sat in the conservatory area. Well.. That was until one man.. So loud, no matter where you sat you could hear him. One of these big booming voices.. You couldn't escape his voice no matter where you sat. He was the only reason we left when we did. It wouldn't stop us going back again as the food was so lovely and Al who served us even though he was run off his feet.. Serving at the bar and the customers meals, he made time for us too, he made sure we had all we needed and that the food was to our liking. They do tasting menu... Definitely worth checking out especially if you love a good selection of food, you need to book in advance (£5 deposit) as there are limited spaces and at the time if writing this the menu costs £35 Definitely Worth a visit

We have not been here for a few years and we definitely not be returning, they have refurbished the pub and took the warm friendly appearance away. First drink noticed black dark marks on inside of glass, left a quarter of a pint when I noticed thus ordered 2 more beers in clean glasses, they said it was probably something that had flown in my glass . I explained it was stuck to the inside of glass , after her checking a few glasses she then poured the 2 pints which I was charged fully for, and still noticed the glasses were dirty. This used to be a good busy pub with good food and atmosphere, but only 3 people in the bar

The food was good. However, the choice of real ale was non-existent! Take down your signage outside!!

I don’t understand why this place is not fully booked all the time. Particularly 5-8 when they do their 2 course special for £10.95 there is a great choice on the menu which changed every week and it’s incredible food which is fresh and tasty. Would recommend to anyone to give it a try

Came in for food with grandkids lovely food only problem deserts they brought the cheese cake with ice cream not aware they put kids on our plate , so they charged us £7.90 for 2 single scoops ice cream , bar maid was rude and was saying there lucky to get anything was it us or other diners , keep your opinions to yourself not in front customers, the guy had excellent service but the young lass needs gone or people won’t visit with her attitude

Went for the meal deal they had on Thursdays, 2 courses for 10:95. The quality and quantity of both courses was top rating.Staff were friendly and professional when dealing with queries. Well worth a visit.

A lovely little village pub, tucked away, with a fab park for kids outside area, lovely sun trap conservatory, i arrived with friends we booked a table for 4pm bottomless brunch, we had the burger and chips, which sounds simple but i promise you the Aberdeen Angus burger did not disappoint at all it was stunning, however the cajun spiced chips nearly blew my head off, flavour was amazing,bit too spicey for myself, however drinks where decent too i stuck to Malibu sunset which was beautiful however could have done with bigger size glass, it was very much a mouthful in a glass, my friends had prosecco which was always getting refilled, i never asked for a refil once which is impressive we where right next to the bar aswell. The staff are super friendly since its been taken over it's had a face-lift it feels and smells so much cleaner! I would absolutely go back for another meal with the kids in the holidays at some point. My mum had a lovely birthday so for that i thank you so much. I didn't get any pictures because we had a fantastic time.

Bottomless Brunch was fab we all chose burgers. They were delicious as it was Aberdeen Angus a good quality burger and the bacon was cooked to perfection with fresh tomatoes along with melted cheese. The accompanying chips were spicy and helped with the flowing alcohol. Staff were very attentive even though they had an 18th birthday in as well as being highly organised. Highly recommend our local pub. It was so easy to book through Facebook.

We had a lovely family lunch, the staff were very helpful especially with the baby. The fish and chips were excellent, large portions and light batter. We were more than happy with the menu options, I can highly recommend this venue.
