This unassuming restaurant is well worth a visit. Fine dining in Whitley Bay . I and my family ;16, 17 & ??, ??😏 went here for sons 16th birthday and had the 6 course set meal which is the only option but the food was delicious and the service was great. I don’t take to the pretentiousness of some fine dining establishments but the Roxburgh is not like that at all. The food is brought to with a simple explanation and it is delicious. You pay an appropriate price which isn’t cheap. But as a self confessed tight Yorkshireman i was happy to pay for the whole great experience. Save up and go!

Fancied a home cooked pub lunch . Heard really good reviews about this place . Quite busy , scanned the menu we both decided on the scampi upgraded to the homemade chips . 🍟 🍤 Food was excellent , no complaints from us . Staff were great 😊 Definitely recommend & will return . Excellent value for money .

Called in for breakfast with friends at the weekend. Menu was as expected, providing all of the usual options. We’re quite a discerning bunch and not afraid to offer polite comment if things aren’t as expected. The first indicator of a quality breakfast is the attitude of the waiting staff. This was excellent with attention to every detail which we threw into the mix. Second indicator is the quality of sausage and bacon. No supermarket bargain basement sausage here. Full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Bacon was the same. Cooked perfectly, no white stuff from cheap vacuum packed brands which are laden with water. Presentation: served on hot plates and nicely laid out. Not slapped on the plate without any care or pride. Tea was served in a pot and was full flavour. Overall an excellent breakfast although one of us had a cup of coffee which our friend suggested could have been a bit stronger. Then again he’s a bit of a fuss pot and the staff did listen when he made polite comment about his preferred strength of brew! Definitely will return and definitely recommend.

The best bar/lounge in the north east. This place was just fantastic. I would usually go for an evening drink, possibly a bit to eat. Had brunch there too which was lovely. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks (the same or a fraction cheaper than anywhere similar in Whitley). Table service which was very pleasant. Lovely staff (except for one very sarcastic elderly man with a chip on his shoulder). Just a great place to pop in for a drink. Oh, and on site parking too! Shame it’s now closed, but fingers crossed it comes back with some resemblance of what it was. My only criticism is that the food menu was quite deep fried.

We didn't personally sit in on the coffee shop as we were grabbing two coffees to go en route through the pouring rain. The place was heaving! The clientele looked happy and there was a nice local vibe to the place. However, my cappuccino was lukewarm at best although my wife's latte was spot on. I'd like to try them as a sit down experience as they look really good but I can only judge this experience on a tepidly heated cappuccino alas.

One of the few chippies in that area which is open after 20-00hrs midweek. Had fish supper and battered sausage. Chips recently done so were excellent. Cod ( usually have haddock) was firm and juicy and appeared very fresh. Great batter. All in all an excellent fish supper. Only drawback ( but that's country wide) is the expense ! Not Seashell's fault.
