The best restaurants in Whitley Bay North Tyneside North East

One of my favourite pubs in Whitley Bay. Excellent range of beer to choose from. Great atmosphere and a nice outdoor area on the station platform.

Food and service here is exceptional. We chose to try the new wine flight, absolute bargain at £35. For those who have never tried one, they’re great. The wine is chosen especially to complement the course you’re eating. So you don’t have to worry about choosing the right bottle to accompany the whole meal. Each glass is perfectly matched. Five glasses of top end wines. Fantastic value and the perfect way to eat, drink and be merry. The meal started with 'Yeast two ways', freshly baked, thickly cut crusty bread with roasted yeast butter, how to elevate simple bread and butter to fine dining standards- it tasted amazing. Followed North Shields crab with apple which worked really well so light and refreshing. We shared a twice-baked Epoisses cheese soufflé. Dusted with aged Parmesan and baked with a cider cream and Onion Chutney. Absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious, indulgent... and a cheese lover's dream dish. The lamb course with beetroot melted in the mouth. The Snips Whispers dessert of sweet parsnip crisps with parsley sorbet and parsnip custard was unusually delicious! We were so full at the end of it all. Full and happy 😊 We did push the boat out and had a few cocktails in between courses, hence my poor beer pouring skills. Such a cool place with a soundtrack and food to match. If you're a true foodie you need to tick this place off your list 😉

Visited a couple of weeks ago on a Monday. There was no heating in the building and people were even sitting with their coats on. Needless to say we were not informed of this until after we ordered our meal and enquired if there was a problem. We were offered a free 'shot' once we had voiced our discomfort but really we just couldn't wait to get out it was so cold. To add insult we were sitting at the side of the front doors and they kept blowing open and banging with the wind! Not a pleasurable experience for a quick meal at a cost of £65!

Zamorins is a nice restaurant serving food of an area in the South of India but other popular dishes from other areas too. It's our favourite Indian restaurant in Whitley Bay. We have never been disappointed and have been visiting for about five years.

Love the Shikara, great venue, great customer service and fabulous food. Always a warm welcome in beautiful surroundings. Our go to Indian restaurant whether with a group of friends or with my husband for a date night. Definitely recommended.

The only good thing about the restaurant was the Ambience. Lady server was sweet and helped in selection of food. Food was alright, portions are smaller than the exorbitant price you pay for. The boy server was cocky and had an attitude. Terrible customer service. Despite pointing out the undercooked chicken, he had an attitude, zero attention by the chef to atleast come out and seek the problem. He cleared the plates without giving attention to the problem and only just highlighted its double cooked, which one can see from pictures 😞, its not. I’ cook chicken everyday and I know what cooked chicken looks like. Paid a high price for what we had and charged an unjustified service fee for a cocky attitude Never returning again. Pictures for proof for the undercooked chicken and bill! 👎❌

Amazing coffee, and the staff are so lovely, warm, knowledgeable and attentive, and so helpful in attending to your needs. Not to mention the tranquil and comforting vibes!

Brilliant as always. Great food , cocktails and love the atmosphere. Staff are friendly and it's just a nice place to be. The hummus is best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend

Consistently good quality flavoursome food, best chinese in the area.

Authentic family run restaurant with nice Italian atmosphere. Good menu all freshly cooked. This is our 3rd visit and we will be back next time we visit Southport. PS Free parking.
