The best restaurants serving British food in Tynemouth North Tyneside North East

Food was amazing!! Delivered to a caravan park for us. Went over and above!! Two all day breakfasts, and a BEST sandwich. All hot, despite being delivered. Plenty of food. Highly recommended.

The pub on entry was bar to the right, more of a dining area to the left. We were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us a menu and took our drinks order, after a little while a gentlemen took our food order. The dining room is very well decorated and has a beautiful log fire. It wasn't long before the food came, and it did not disappoint ... the pie was beautifully cooked inside and out the mash was not my cup of tea but my partner liked it my mushy peas were what i can only describe as a childhood moment they were amazing and tasted how peas should unlike the watered down ones sold everywhere else. My gravy was lovely and thick. My partners cod was cooked so well it melted in your mouth. The chips are definitely the better option and are cooked so well!!! It's definitely worth the money. 100% recommended for anyone passing or local.

Been here a few times but not for a few years. Looking forward to good fish and chips. Fish (cod) was decent. A slightly thinner example than I prefer, but perfectly fine. Batter was crisp and rewarding. The chips were perfect. Curry sauce tasted good but I wanted an extra 50%. Mam enjoyed her mushy peas. Tea was nice. My slice of white could have been a bit fresher, but overall, no deal breaker. I didn’t particularly warm to our server but again, no biggy. Will we return? We might do but equally we might not. Would I recommend? We would. Overall, it’s a good example of fish and chips.

Fabulous decor, super friendly staff and lovely atmosphere

We stopped in here instead of opting to eat on the Newcastle-Amsterdam ferry. Brilliant move as the fish and chips (cod) were outstanding. I'm a bit picky about fish and chips in general as we get very fresh fish over on the West Coast of Scotland. Longsands massively delivered as the fish was really fresh and the chips excellent. Food was on the table very promptly and the serving staff were super friendly and helpful. Not the cheapest perhaps but for such quality it is a no brainer. Also opted for the curry sauce which was also excellent. Would definitely do this again prior to paying £25 each on the ferry for very medicore food. The bill for 4 of us was only £65 at Longsands!!!

Absolutely gorgeous pie lunch with lovely home made chips. Huge portions! The best pie I’ve had- stuffed full of chunks of great quality chicken. Very friendly service. Would highly recommend!

We were greeted immediately by friendly waiting staff who asked if we need a high chair or help with the buggy. They showed us to a table and were really helpful and patient. The sandwiches, scones and coffees we ordered were all delicious and well-priced. The manager even came over came to check that my husband didn’t want his sandwich toasted! Such a beautiful cafe with wonderful food and staff.

We booked the private loft dining room at the Cove for our daughters 21st meal and everything was perfect. The setting was amazing and the choice and quality of the tapas were excellent and catererd for some in our party who are vegetarian and one with a nut allergy. Above all that were the staff, I don't remember when I've last experienced such kind, knowledgeable and attentive staff, they were all brilliant and really funny and entertaining as a bonus. Thanks you again for making the 21st a very special occasion!

I have never had mocha coffee and cakes this good. We really loved the cozy yet charming vibe this cafe has. Friendly staff and very welcoming.

I go here a lot these days...... nice and relaxed, the mince 'n dumplings are particularly sublime.

I felt like Robinson ha ha it's a great escape especially on a sunny summer day you can dream you are on your dream holiday

Lovely place, nice food, good portion size. Disappointed at the choice of desserts but otherwise great experience

Great food. Baby shower buffet of hot and cold food was delicious. I have heard recently that this place has closed down such a shame

Despite having a kids menu, this bar is not child friendly. Will not be returning.
