Always our first choice go-to bar & restaurant in Tynemouth. We've never had a bad experience or meal here. Coctails are fab. Food choice & quality is phenomenal :) Staff are brilliant!

Great food and service, it's always busy which is a sign that it's a decent place to visit. The recommendations by the staff were spot on, we are going to have to return to try the rest of the menu.

We booked for tapas. Nice place but first mistake was forgotten drink. No apology after having to request it again. We had 2 rounds of tapas and asked for dessert menu at 9pm to be told "no sorry, kitchens closed" we should hve been informed of this beforehand. Left disappointed. Not cheap to eat here and won't be back. Service very poor.

Having visited Allards for coffee since it opened, we have never had a tapas lunch. Fortunately we were allowed to sit in the dining area and not be subjected to the horrible yellow walls of the coffee half. We were greeted by Amy who gave us some guidance about what, and how many tapas to order. She suggested 4 or 5 and 4 turned out to be ample. The drinks came quickly and it was not long before the food arrived. It was hot and tasty and did the job. The choice of deserts is limited, but reasonably priced compared to elsewhere. An altogether satisfactory visit to add to our rota of regular weekly lunchtime outings.

Absolutely stunning 🤩 Came to Allards for an impromptu birthday meal and although not a first time here, was still surprised and impressed with the warm welcome and service received from all members of staff. A particular server Michelle provided excellent service and conversation over the menu, it is because of Michelle we will be back again very soon to try recommend dishes. Thank you!!

Memories, my husband and I go to Allards tynemouth every week for breakfast, always well presented and well prepared, staff efficient and service good it always amazes us that the staff are always smiling and helpful,but for myself Allards is full of memories, in 1956 I was 15 yrs old and joined the staff of Allards Grocery and provision store to work in the office above the shop, the shop itself was remarkable all fresh food cheese ,butter, bacon, all served they way you wanted , I loved working there, Allards tynemouth today the decor is beautiful, well thought out looks after there customers well a pleasure to go there, I am now 82 yrs of age and very happy to still be going to Allards tynemouth Trish

Tried this place today and wish I hadn’t not cheap by all means and our meals were absolutely shocking!! I got the chicken flatbread and for £13.95 I was expecting the works to be honest, was aware it didn’t come with chips but described it come with lots of salad so thought it would of been full to the brim. What I got looked like leftovers! I was absolutely starving and also left starving my grandparents got the stew with dumplings described as coming with seasonal veg, well if that’s what you call a few chopped up carrots in and the bowl it come in was a tapas dish! Honestly don’t waste your money going here twelve 25 a few doors up blows these out the watch really don’t know how anybody can justify the prices they’re charging for this rubbish!

Beautiful venue, staff were polite and service was efficient. But my Moroccan chicken flatbread was a total disappointment. Not cheap at £13.95. Look at the photo, does not meet the description on the menu at all. Way too much dressing and not much else, still looking for the chicken. 6 of us got this and we all thought the same.same thing, no offer of a complimentary drink despite our complaints

Got classic burger with chips and a hot drink, burger was poor quality meat and lacked seasoning, it was unfortunately pretty tasteless, won't be going back.

We broke down outside Allards Lounge and had to wait for the RAC We went into the bar and they provided hot drinks and biscuits while we waited. All the staff were so lovely and really helpful. We will definitely go back and have a meal next time. Lovely people

Havnt had the pleasure of visiting yet.. But properiors josh and family stayed at my Airbnb in Blackpool and left it in clean exceptional condition...and were polite and friendly which obviously reflects in their own business...

This is the second time we have been for breakfast in recent weeks, the food was tasty and presented well, Michelle was our waitress and her service was perfect with a warm friendly welcome, attention to detail on orders she couldn’t be more helpful. Would 100% recommend breakfast and coffee.

We came to Allard's Lounge while visiting our son at University. Our dog was welcomed and a lovely waitress brought her a bowl of water. Not all the tapas we wanted were available, but everything we did order was fantastic. The tacos were my favourite, my husband loved the squid and my son's favourite was the arancini. Great music too. Highly recommend.

My partner and I met friends in Tynemouth for drinks before visiting Allards on a Sunday evening at 6pm. We had a booking but were told there would be a wait of 30 minutes due to being busy. In the end the wait was over 60 minutes. We were offered a complimentary drink but when the food arrived we were well pleased. There was plenty of choice of tapas. We were very pleased with the result offer menu at £24.95 for 4 tapas and two drinks. We didn’t mind the wait and had a very good evening. Great background music playing. We will be back.

Fabulous day service by Jonathan was amazing he was so efficient and very friendly food was out of this world . Definitely will be back .

One of the worst meals I've ever had. Prawn thermador. Plastic prawns on untoastd bread covered in a tasteless sauce. Patatas bravas. Un fried cubes of spud, chewey, almost toffee ish In in texture in the most sickly untomatoey sauce. Vile. Meat paella. Tasted of jazzed up batcheors savory rice. Salt cod balls. OK.

A beautiful bar in the centre of Tynemouth. Easy to access by public transport and public parking available across the road. The staff were brilliant when we visited, couldn't do enough to help us or ensure our stay was comfortable. Disappointed in the food. Allard's used to be my go to place for comfort food. The pricing is reasonable and they run deals through the week for food and drinks. Sadly in recent years the food has just slowly went down hill. They still offer a lot of the same dishes but they're just not what they once were. Twice now I've been and ordered the same dish with dietary requirements and been given it with said food item included. The staff were happy to change this, can't fault it, but it's just really put me off going there in future. Brilliant for drinks, can't fault the place but the food isn't the best Tynemouth has to offer. Dogs are allowed in the main bar but not the restaurant area!

Treated my husband to lunch out. We shared 4 tapas - sliders, patatas bravas, salt and chilli chicken and pulled beef tacos. All were delicious. It was quiet on a very wet, miserable winter Tuesday but cosy inside. Staff were nice and service prompt.

I've eaten at Allard and Allards on the quay many times, but the review isn't for their food or drinks, but their amazing staff. We met a gentleman with special needs lost on North Shields fish Quay. He was worried as he lost his friends and his phone battery had died. We went with him bar to bar to try and locate his friend's to no avail. We asked the staff at the restaurant next door if they could book a taxi for the man which we would pay for, but the staff member I spoke to informed me he was closing up and wanted to get away. We went into Allards on the Quay and asked if they had a charger for the gentleman's phone and said we'd pay for his taxi if they could book him one. The staff took charge of the situation, showed the upmost of compassion and assured us that they'd ensure the gentleman was escorted safely home and refused our offer to pay for the taxi. The staff are a credit to the whole organisation. I'll be sure to recommend Allards to anyone because of the way their staff acted. I'm not usually one to write reviews, I know their food is great, but their staff went over and above, even when it's not expected nor required of them and that deserves recognition. Thank you.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food was outstanding and came out hot and fast. Unfortunately the service really lets it down. It was quiet when we went but we waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken and half an hour for plates to be cleared.

A Disheartening Dining Experience I've never left a bad review in my life, but I felt compelled to share my recent dining experience. I've been a customer at Alards in Tynemouth for years, primarily for drinks. While the staff was consistently friendly, there were occasionally long wait times, especially during busy periods. However, upon returning after a year, I was shocked by the decline in service quality and the rudeness of the staff, even though it wasn't a busy period. We had reserved a table for my parents' 29th wedding anniversary breakfast. We were promptly seated but waited 20 minutes for our ordered orange juice, which arrived lukewarm. To add to the frustration, we had to ask about the orange juice twice. We proceeded to order food and coffee, but had to remind the staff about the coffee. One coffee was forgotten, and when I requested to have the egg on the side, we also weren't asked if we had any dietary requirements. To make matters worse, they forgot to put the egg on the side as I had requested. When we requested the bill (£55) and paid with £60, the waitress said she would give us the 'thumbs up,' (whatever that means) but instead, she cleared the table without bringing any change. When we asked about our change, her tone was abrupt and rude, saying, "what, you want your change?" We intended to leave the change as a tip, but her actions made us feel guilty for merely inquiring about it, we told her it didn't matter and left the venue. We won't be returning to Alards. Terrible service.

We didn't get far as we passed by this lovely pub and couldn't help but notice what the customers were eating in the outside sitting area.. 😋... A table became available so we quickly grabbed it...
