The best restaurants serving British food in North East

We are visiting the area from down south. These are the best fish and chips we have had for a long time. We ate our food on the beach which was also amazing. Definitely recommend this place. Very reasonable cost, we had the meal deal.

First time I’ve been here and I will definitely be back. Lovely restaurant, love the wooden decor. Plenty to choose from in the menu, I had the pan fried sea bass which I would definitely recommend. Nice selection of drinks, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices were reasonable for it being in the city centre. Scarlett was the girl who served us, she was extremely friendly and polite. Nothing was a bother for her.

Dinner @5:30pm outside of term time - we were basically the only diners. Had a vegan option for every course so we were both catered for. And both sets of food were devoured. All flavours as described and dishes were well executed. Service was also great - friendly and professional front of house. Couldn't fault our visit.

We ate here twice during the bank holiday and both times the food was amazing! The sirloin steak and sausage and mash were delicious! The service was also impressive. Staff were efficient, polite and attentive.

Absolutely tremendous post-punk friendly boozer full of Gosforth locals, nice dogs and shabby chic furniture. The owner of the pub has a super idiosyncratic sense of humour and everything just... works. Great beers from their own Overkill brewery (on site) and usually a decent selection of guest beers. Cask tends to have a better selection, but it's really well done here. There is a beer garden and it's nicely done, but is basically in the car park at the back of the premises. Big burgers and nice plates of food available and there's a good selection of quizzes and events on all year round. Definitely my favourite pub in Gosforth and the service is always friendly. Definitely worth a visit and offers great value and crack. The atmosphere is always great in here. Strongly reccomend.

Family lunch today and with the exception of the amazing Yorkshire puddings sadly our meal took a long time, was warm at best when served and the beef was overcooked and very chewy! Not enjoyable 😒. The staff were very good but we paid a lot of money in our group and it warm and the beef tasteless overcooked and chewy! Not enjoyable

Great location, helpful staff, average food for above average prices. Also note you must order two courses from the Sunday menu starting from £28, service is slow so if you want to be out in under 2 hours don’t go.

Needed bike fixed whilst on holiday at short notice, fast friendly service, nice cafe, bike sorted in 2 hours, would highly recommend.

What a wonderful surprise we had when we dined at the New Board Inn. The staff were welcoming and professional. The food was outstanding. Wish we were locals so that we could come back.

We stopped at Tisanes Tea Rooms in Broadway for lunch and were very pleased with the experience. The service was brilliant—friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The sandwiches were lovely, fresh, and satisfying, offering great value compared to other cafes in Broadway that charge nearly double. They also catered well for our coeliac daughter with gluten free options which is a bonus. Tisanes is an exquisite cafe and feels like a hidden gem, combining quality food with a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you want a tasty lunch without breaking the bank in Broadway.
