Wonderful place which encapsulated the whole town. Great choice of food and drink and the staff were brilliant. Only takes a little touch to top up your hot water to make you feel like royalty. The Baileys cheese cake was out of this world. Thanks for making my weekend!!!

Not the best experience and not the worst. We were told nothing about how many sandwiches or cakes to pick, what teas are available etc. Nothing was explained to us so we were left sat unsure about what we could pick. Waitress said we could have custard with our cake but didn't tell us there was an extra charge for it. Could only pick 1 sandwich flavour as they're not finger sandwiches. Felt quite rushed as well and the place was getting busy. Not the afternoon tea that I'm used to - delicate sandwiches/cakes, often refillable in the other places that I've been to. However, it was cheaper (£17.50 per person).

We ordered two takeaway sandwiches at £4-50 each, they were 2 slices of basic supermarket bread 1 with processed turkey on and the other with Tuna which was slightly better. Then asked to wait outside while they were made. For £9 we expected a lot better quality or at least a smile from the lady who robbed us!

This place must have the rudest staff in Broadway. You are met by 'The black barrier'. A crowd control belt pulled across the doorway to stop people going in. After being ignored for a while I attempted to open it. Do this at your peril! It's ok if you are a local but God forbid a pesky tourist trying to breach the doorstop . I was met with a sharp '" you will have to wait !" by door security ( aka a waitress) . Finally someone pointed to a table and over we went . No menus . We waited and waited . Nothing. I finally plucked up course to ask for one to be met with ' oh we didn't see you there ' ( we were in the middle of the tea room) " you should have waited to be shown In!" I replied " I was shown in!" The waitress begrudgingly brought me the menu. Made to feel totally unwanted and as if we were causing them such inconvenience being there. Avoid at all costs.

A horrible experience. We happened to visit on a day a car show was on. We could hear the staff constantly complaining at how busy it has been since they opened. There was 4 of us dining and everyone had ordered a variety of food from the menu. We had ordered 1 gluten free afternoon tea, after having one sandwich we realised the bread was mouldy. Avoid if you can, plenty of other places here to enjoy a friendly dining experience.

Place was a bit packed when i arrived. But they quickly found us a garden table. The dining area was really cosy and relaxing. I had the oolong tea, and it was so fragrant and taste so gooooood! Kinda regretted not buying some to bring home, hope they sell a smaller bag in the future. Loved the fruity scone as well. Every bite was filled with raisins. I ordered a sausage sandwich expecting the sausage to be served in a breadcake but it came on "tasteless sliced white bread" which made it awkward to eat without pieces of sausage falling out . Also the sausage skin was tough and chewy ( but ) at least the sausage meat was tasty once you'd got through the tough outer skin that is . I ended up peeling the skin off as much sausage as I could to make it edible .

Surprised by the ratings here. The service is not particularly great. They dump a pile of cutlery on your table. No descriptions of the teas on the menu. Overall the service didn't live up to the expectations set by the ratings.

We visit Broadway at least once a year and Tisanes is always our first point of call after we arrive. An utterly charming and 'olde-worlde' tea room serving quality fare; we usually go for the toasted tea cakes - huge, light and fluffy with plenty of butter. Breakfasts are served too and a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. A lovely quaint feel to the premises adds to the charm, along with the friendly and helpful staff. Visited on a beautiful random sunny February day on a day trip to the Cotswolds. Popped in about 3 ish and it was very busy, but managed to share a table with another lady who was on her own as well. I love an oldeworlde teamroom with the waitresses in the black and white uniforms and aprons , and the background 40’s/50,s music was perfect. I plumped for a traditional pot of tea and homemade victoria sandwich cake. The tea was really nice and made with loose tea leaves and came with a strainer which again added to the traditional english tea room. The victoria sandwich cake was delicious and hit the spot. A pretty double frontage tea room in the heart of Broadway. The tea room plays lovely music but thats where the loveliness stops! We were greeted by a sour faced lady. Had our order taken by another sour faced misery. We ordered the Croque Monsieur however what we received was purely 2 slices of toast with ham and cheese inside. I explained this was not a croque monsieur as it should be a ham and cheese sandwich made with gruyere, parmesan, ham and a simple béchamel sauce, toasted in the oven. She said it was a toastie, but I said you shouldn't call it a croque monsieur then. She didn't respond and just walked off then proceded to talk about us to her miserable colleagues. It wasn't an enjoyable lunch! I suggest investing on some staff training on how to SMILE and ake visitors feel welcome I also suggest changing your menu so you don't mislead your customers.

What a shame , had lunch today three out of the four of us ordered sandwiches on white bread what a huge mistake . I can’t believe that such a high profile business could let itself down by serving cheap white sliced bread that stuck to the roof of your mouth . One of our party ordered hers on granary which was fine so why oh why would you serve such cheap and nasty white bread. Having looked at other reviews it appears several people have complained about this but obviously profit must come before customer satisfaction. Isn’t it nice when you find an establishment which is friendly, attentive, relaxed and where the food is always very good? This is exactly what we have found on our three visits to Tisanes. We arrived in Broadway on our first day, needing to find something for a late lunch with a very hungry(or should I say hangry) 3 year old. Having wandered up and down the high street Tisanes looked like it would fit the bill. We asked if there were any tables available, one was and we were seated immediately. There is a nice selection of teas, coffees and cakes to choose from as well as a well thought selection of sandwiches, toasties and light lunches. On each visit our three year old son has been treated with dignity and respect. His food is always presented to him with a smile. All the food is superb. A lot of thought has gone into presenting simple combinations elegantly and in a way that leaves you satisfied. I would highly recommend going with enough room to allow for a home made sweet treat as well. On the subject of wasps, there were one or two inside but no more than you would expect from somewhere serving sweet treats. I could hear customers being clearly advised wasps were about in the outdoor seating area. They weren’t a problem for us.

My husband(!) and I had our wedding lunch here 31st October 2024. What a delightful time we had! As we were catering for 30 people, we used outside caterers (can recommend Community Catering) and The Hub made sure there was enough space for them to set out food lovely. The bar selection was great for our needs and they even ensured there was a small cocktail menu available at our request (pina coladas are delicious!). Jill and Heather took care of our every need when arranging the event (and during) and I think were even more excited than me! They made the space absolutely beautiful for us. Many of our guests had not been before and were very impressed and will certainly be back again soon as customers. The other staff in attendance on the day were great too, happy, friendly and polite. It is a fabulous little hidden gem of a location which is perfect for a walk (or cycle!) along the Quayside or the Ouseburn, with beautiful views along the river Tyne with backdrop of the bridges. Although we were unable to use their food at our event, we have eaten here before and it has always been delicious. It is worth noting too that they use as many local suppliers and small business as possible which in my view is really worth celebrating. Keep an eye on their drinks menu as it changes with the season which is a lovely little touch too. On a cold day, you can still sit outside to enjoy the view too as they even have some blankets that you can borrow to keep the chill off. Thanks again, from the new Mr and Mrs Burnett.

Yes it's more expensive, but I'd say it's definitely worth it, especially when you consider how overpriced mediocre food/drink can be at this time of year. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't recommend it highly enough.
