If you’re planning on taking advantage of their ‘Dine out to help out’ 50% of deal on mains, think twice. I have been going to this pub for 30 years and never had a problem. We have visited there 3 times recently for this deal, all of a sudden, each time we have had to question the bill. Don’t get me wrong, the food is excellent, but they’re obviously trying to make up for the discount in dodgy ways. First time they forgot to include the discount. Feigned embarrassment, they reluctantly corrected the bill. Second time drinks we had already paid for prior to ordering the food were charged again on the food bill. We showed bank records (thanks to modern banking apps) that left no question that we had previously paid for the drinks they were charging. The fact we had to pull up our bank transactions to prove them wrong really doesn’t bode well. Despite this, given my 30 year history with this pub, we thought we’d try one more time. When we walked in a long time friend was waiting for a take away order. When the order and bill came there was no discount. My friend questioned them, again, feigning embarrassment, they corrected the bill. We ordered and paid for two drinks and sat down to decide what to eat. We ordered our food and it was lovely. When time came to pay for our food we were informed an old friend had bought us each a drink, very kind of him. The person I was with declined the drink as he had to leave and paid for the meal, but I had one. When I went to leave, in my astonishment, they said I somehow owed them £15 and change for the two drinks, of which we only had one. I explained that they were paid for. They said they weren’t. I called my dining partner who confirmed that everything had been paid and nothing was owed. The insisted we were wrong, but said they would only charge for one. As I was in a hurry and didn’t want a scene, I reluctantly paid for the drink. As I was heading home my dinner partner phoned me to say that the Greyhound had charged £18.00 for the first round, which should have been £14.00 and in a separate transaction, £38.00 for the mains. So again, they didn’t give the discount. They effectively tried, and succeeded to rip off not just us, but the very kind elderly gentleman that tried to buy us drinks. The food is good, don’t get me wrong, but there is obviously something not right going on. This is an affluent area where everyone blindly taps their card without looking. They think they got something going. CHECK YOUR BILL AND YOUR BANK STATEMENT!!!

Awful. Truly awful. Please avoid and save your wallet. Expensive tripe that wasn’t worth it. Hopefully this pub closes and is replaced by something more fitting the location.

Creo que los lugareños deben ser asiduos, y no saben nada mejor de mejor comida, en otros lugares? 3 de nuestra fiesta tenían el asado. No brillante pero no el peor. Tenía el pescado y las patatas fritas. Lleno. plato cargado de patatas fritas, luego el pescado se acostó encima. ¿Por qué? . no puede llegar a las patatas fritas. la masa es muy aceitosa, se filtra en las patatas fritas. patatas fritas calientes. anillos de cebolla fríos. gran cantidad de aceite en el fondo del tazón. guisantes tiernos. sin sabor. . servicio bueno. hasta que no vi un camarero o camarera durante 20 minutos. . cuando ir barril de nuevo definitivamente intentará en otro lugar.

Had dinner at the restaurant. Amazing service, friendly staff, especially Steve being his first day and good food. Would definitely recommend.

We had a family evening meal; the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were taken to the table in the front room of the pub. It was very noisy to begin but did settle after half hour - it was post 6 nations, so we appreciated it was going to be busy. The team member looking after us was professional and had a very pleasant and helpful manner. The food was delivered quite promptly and was of a good quality. There were a couple of occasions we had to wait a bit of time to get the attention of the team member to get further drinks, but it was very busy and he was covering several tables. If you are looking for a good pub meal in a friendly pub, it is definitely the place to go, but it can get noisy.

when arrived very noisy loud wih kids running and screaming and shouting later they left. In an afternoon on Saturday which we tried to be earlier and had called to see if can go even earlier we were told quiet but that is ok. Service great but each staff seemed mostly in such rush but last one asked if all ok. many thanks. Food compared to price is too high but that is most pubs. At least they have different and more food on the menu. Portions quite small especially sea bass but tastes great.

Decepcionante de verdad.

La buena noticia es que la comida estaba deliciosa. La triste noticia, pero no sorprendente, es que era caro. Tres comidas para niños, un bacalao con patatas fritas, una hamburguesa con queso y bebidas era de aproximadamente £ 85. En realidad nos cobraron £ 106 por error - un Cod & Chips extra se llevó a nuestra mesa y se había añadido a nuestra factura, lo que resultó en un sobrecargo de £ 20. Pero el personal era servicial, resolvió el reembolso inmediatamente y nos dio un recibo. Sugiero ir al café en su lugar, o traer un picnic para ahorrar dinero.
