Lovely location. A place that might otherwise feel a bit tired but benefits hugely from its wonderful staff- Sophie and Georgia served us, they were so lovely and knowledgable and served me a great picpoul! Thanks to them for making our new years ! Five stars just for them

Popped in on the way back from Christmas at Kew. Large welcoming pub overlooking green and as name suggests the cricket ground. Fabulous pint of cider 👌

This is a very average pub that could be so much better with a little imagination and effort. The staff were great, but everything else about this place is 'tired'. The food as you would expect is expensive and edible but frankly boring and designed to be thrown on a plate with minimal effort. The decor is functional and would be ok if you were in a Weathespoons at Gatwick airport. I'm guessing the pub doesn't need to put any effort into making the experience enjoyable because of it's location but I will personally not be coming back. Sorry...

Uno de los miembros de nuestro grupo era celíaco y el personal hizo todo lo posible para asegurarse de que la comida fuera adecuada, incluso revisando el embalaje de todos los ingredientes para asegurarse de que no había rastros de gluten cuando había alguna duda. Fabuloso domingo a la hora del almuerzo. La comida era deliciosa y el servicio era de primera clase del personal muy amable. Sin duda lo recomiendo. Esta fue nuestra segunda visita y volveremos de nuevo la próxima vez que estemos en Kew. Gracias Adam.

We just had a couple of pints of Guinness and some crisps, but the bartenders were very kind. The place is nice, clean, welcoming... and really near Kew Gardens.

Title: Disappointing Experience – Rude Service and Poor Communication I visited The Cricketers in Kew with two friends recently, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. We arrived for dinner, and while the pub seemed charming at first glance, the service was anything but. When we approached the bar to order food, the lady serving us gave a detailed description of the pies on the menu and even recommended sides to go with them. However, she completely failed to mention that the kitchen was about to close. When one of my friends quickly stepped away to use the toilet, we were shocked to find out that by the time she returned (mere minutes later), the kitchen had closed, and she was no longer allowed to order food. This left us in an incredibly awkward situation where two of us ate while our friend had to sit there watching, with no offer of even basic snacks like crisps or nuts to make up for it. Not only was it embarrassing for all of us, but it was also incredibly rude on the pub’s part. Had we been told upfront about the closing time, we could have placed all three orders together and avoided this unpleasantness. The lack of communication and any attempt at an apology was inexcusable. Sadly, I can’t recommend this pub and won’t be returning. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable, not a stressful experience where one of your party is left out entirely.

Really lovely spacious Inn with great chow and good service.

I can't believe I hadn't gone in before. This little pub had such a great atmosphere, the food was tasty and overall reasonable price. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing and has a nice beer garden outback, which would be great for summer. Definitely plan to go back when I'm next in that part of London. The only thing I would suggest is if you have significant food allergies or requirements to call ahead first.

Ordered lamb roast only to receive some cold unidentifiable slices of meat! Chicken version looked better and the team are nice and friendly.

Really good Sunday lunches (but if there's a Brentford home game, the pub will be fully booked and very busy) Good sized pub and plenty of outdoor tables for good weather. In the summer you can watch the cricket on Kew Green.

We had a very enjoyable time here with some friends. Good amount of drink and drink options. Food arrived very quickly and was very tasty. No order at the table service though which might relieve some pressure off of the bar

We really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious and the staff handled our dietary requirements exceptionally well. We appreciated the care taken. Will be returning if we are ever in London again.

Lovely pub on the green in Kew. I regularly stop here on my Thames walks. The terrace is beautiful and the food is great. Charming staff!

Nice location was sat next to annoying work party having the Thursday night social but not the pubs fault. Decent beer and Mason enjoyed his burger 👍

La comida era excelente. La masa de pescado y patatas fritas de eglefino fue tal como me gusta. Crujiente y no duro. Las patatas fritas triples fueron fantásticas: tan buenas como “Dinner” de Heston Blumenthal. Ambas papas fritas de eglefino no estaban aceitosas. Una señal de un excelente control del fuego El hummus n plato para compartir pan plano era generoso n delicioso. El chile padrón es muy bueno. Recomiendo encarecidamente a los jugadores de cricket.

A lovely place that had a nice view of the cricket pitch, and plenty of space outside to relax with a dog.

Refused to accept my Scottish money :( I’m Scottish but have lived in Richmond for years. I rarely have cash but one day recently I did. Won’t be going my back on principle due to this and neither will the friends I was with.

Good food! Was bummed stacked and grilled veg was gone but worked out ok.

Regularly pop in for the cricket being played on Kew Green or before/after the football at Brentford. Gem of a place.

We stopped in for a drink and stayed for a meal. Great location on the green with a view of the cricket pitch too. Food was great - excellent (and large) fish and chips.

Friendly welcome providing some interesting info about gin, followed by a delicious falafel wrap with chips for me and a seriously good looking fish, chips and mushy peas for my friend. A definite place to return to!

Food was average When we asked for more gravy they came back to say we’d have to pay for more?? It’s this normal? Every other pub we never got that answer Portions were pretty small for the cost and had to share the cabbage and cauliflower cheese which was also pretty small between 3 of us So weird and not value for money tbh so won’t be returning Much better pubs with better value nearby

Good location on Kew Green! Excellent food ! Outdoor tables look across The Green and cricket was being played when we visited. Parking round the Green is available - pay via app!

Had a nice lunch good food. I am however troubled by the increasing tendancy of staff in this pub to try and intercept you before you order at the bar with the sole motive of trying to impose a 12.5% "optional" service charge. It is slower than ordering at the bar, and it is a pub, there is very little/no service and this is not the USA. Just stop it. Good pub. Shady tactics.

We had booked but were offered either a terrace or inside table when we arrived. My wife is in a wheelchair and the manager was very accommodating in making sure we were settled in our chosen spot. We did sit outside, as it was a reasonably sunny evening. Pleasant surroundings and a view onto the cricket green. I hadn’t been here for about 25 years (since moving out of London), but it was everything I remembered, good beers (London Pride and Timothy Taylor’s) and good pub food. We had traditional grub; chicken and veg pie and mash and fish and chips. Everything seemed to be cooked fresh and was very appetising. We were not disappointed. A very pleasant experience.

Nice little pub/restaurant overlooking a cricket field. I can imagine this place being so much more vibrant on a warm day, and if a local cricket game was on. I tried a local beer and fish and chips, par for the course.

Took a long time for the food to come out, it was busy though. Food was really nice.

Visiting our son from Yorkshire on Easter Sunday and from start to finish were made to feel very welcome, we arrived 45 minutes early but they shuffled tables round to accommodate us, the serving staff were equally attentive, had a trio of starters, hummus platter , salt and pepper prawns and halloumi popcorn , then lamb roasts and chicken roast with sufficient vegetables for us all, a trio of sorbets, sticky toffee pudding and an apple crumble to finish off a wonderful experience, can’t wait to visit again on our next visit , atmosphere and location was ideal for us, thank you!

We had a booking and the staff made sure we were asked if i had a booking - they showed us to the table. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait to be served. The food was perfect - no complaints and will visit again

Not great for families at all. Felt like we were a nuisance and felt pressured to buy drinks for our little ones. Staff memeber shouted at me as I walked in repeatedly “did I have a reservation “ I thought he was on the phone. But he wasn’t! Kept watching me and my family as I had toddlers, clearly didn’t like us at all. Wine was awful and one of wine cost me around £10.. was so bad the taste. They were glad to see the back of us. Not sure why as we were really well behaved.

Lovely, warm pub to taste food and beer

Came in for Sunday roast before visiting Kew Gardens and had expectations exceeded across the board. We had a couple of Lamb roasts which rank among the very best I’ve ever had. Their range of gluten free was extensive too, as was their knowledge about the differences between simple intolerance and Coeliac. To cap it all they serve Lucky Saint on draught. The service was exceptional. I rarely give 5 starts but this pub is now firmly on my favourites list.

Been here a few times. Always the go too after Kew as its so close. Decent enough boozer. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive.

Really nice pub. It was crowded on a Saturday afternoon but we managed to find a place in the sun to enjoy our drinks.

I have used The Cricketers both socially and for work events and client dinners and have never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious and plentiful. the staff are friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and warm. I will definitely recommend to friends and colleagues and will continue to use The Cricketers myself.

We went at lunchtime and there were only a few other people there. The place was spotless and I’m sure a very different place when full of people. We were a party of five and shared three starters and each had a main meal. Food was good but no one was able to finish their food, which we couldn’t decide whether this was a good thing or not. Staff weren’t busy but it wasn’t always easy to get their attention. Burgers are huge so go hungry and don’t fill up on starters!

Wonderful quiet place . I visit it with colleagues during lunch time. Enjoy the meal and the atmosphere.

Great pub, friendly staff and lovely food

The rudest manager/owner we have delt with, we came for a 5 min drink, with two prams tucked in on the corner and just wanted a drink. The senior kept telling us that we needed to wait, he will check for a table for 4 covers whilst we just needed a drink. He kept being rude to us … very very unpleasant a place to visit —— following up on your response below, there was not mentioned not even once about the fire exit, and unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of the entrance to the bathroom, there was a massive place for a whole family to go in and out not just one by one. My husband wasn’t rude, do not make fake statements, he wanted to make sure what the policy of gettin a drink by the bar and go was. He was very unpleasant and rude. And I head other people leaving the place being super annoyed at the same person, very much in disbelief from a person that works in a service industry. You should treat people, especially families with little children, very much different from the yesterdays attitude.

A (hot) Sunday lunch with extra veg and gravy always gets 5 stars in my book. Plus the mulled wine is the best 👌🏼

Had a lovely dinner here after visiting Kew gardens. The landlord was very welcoming.

A really good sharing meze board and elderflower & soda drinks made for a great lunch sitting outside in the very pleasant courtyard garden. All the food looked excellent & staff were helpful & very nice people.

The service in the bar was great. A South African gentleman provided brilliant customer service, when we had a minor mix up with an order - he was quick to apologise and handled it in a great way. The chicken wings were large, the meat good quality, and the blue cheese dip was freshly prepared - not just out of a packet. The Caesar salad was a brilliant portion, and perfectly prepared. The Cajun chicken burger was well seasoned, grilled to exactly the right level, the ciabatta bun was lovely, and the triple fried chips were great (chewy, a little crunchy and piping hot). We visit a lot of pubs - this one will definitely be revisited!

Nice pub, fresh tasty food in generous portions, inexpensive and great value for such a trendy locations - right on Kew Green backing onto the river. We shared a delicious Greek salad with watermelon and massive sharing platter with humous, falafel and other tasty things. Staff friendly and helpful. Sports TV screens a bit distracting but otherwise great. Would definitely choose again over any of the more pretentious places nearby.

Four of us visited Kew Gardens (from Margate) and wanted to eat locally before heading home. Had a wonderful dinner at Cricketers, made all the more special by the young gentleman server. Great experience and so happy we picked this place to eat. Amazing food and wonderful service. Highly recommended.

I can't really give five stars as we only sat on the front after leaving Kew gardens. Lovely pub to look at and in lovely area overlooking Kew green. Really it's so lovely that I Hope we all go again. Had crisps but no other food as on way home . Beer nice and a good price. I'm sure it will be lovely inside too.

Such a pretty pub with hearty food, beautiful location and swift efficient friendly service. Had the veggie roast which was to die for, really appreciated the extra gravy offered by default, nice touch.

Thursday burger deal is great, lovely food and atmosphere. Staff were lovely! Michael taught our dog a new trick that we’ll now be doing non stop. You must come here for a pint and burger!

Nice lunch popped in after a visit to Kew Gardens, parking readily available closer to the pub paid via Ringo, good was really nice and service good. We had the duck salad and the salt beef sandwich.
