I’ve been twice now and both times the food has been really disappointing. Burnt chicken schnitzel! Oil left on my plate, potatoes portion small compared to others. Humus had been watered down so much it was tasteless and wouldn’t stay on the pitta. Pitta not toasted cut straight from the pot! Expensive for level of cooking.

It was a Saturday lunch which was only 1/3 full. But we had been waiting our food for 40mins. We didnt eager the staff, but no one told us how long we still had to wait for our food. The food portion was smaller than other pubs. But the food taste was quite normal. My medium lambs were unexpectedly chewy. After I came home to check our bill, I just realized there was a £2 for peppercorn? We have been many other pubs or British restaurant. Unfortunately this one is not what we expected. The main plate should be around £15, but not worth over £23.

For the last three years we’ve been lucky enough to live in the lane right behind this pub. It’s our regular and hasn’t let us down. We regularly dine here with our young son, it’s very family friendly and welcoming. They have a set course menu during the week and for less than 10 pounds the portion and quality is hard to beat. Sunday roast is also served and well worth it. Good for a pint before the game or a meal during the week with friends or family, highly recommend.

Today we visited the greyhound pub in Chiswick and whilst the food looked great from afar - the food sadly took so long we never got to taste it. As the minutes stretched into over an hour, we found ourselves repeatedly inquiring about our drinks, which had mysteriously gone missing. Regrettably, the staff failed to provide any updates on the status of our food, ultimately prompting us to express our intention to leave. This dining experience was marred by the unfortunate combination of excruciatingly slow service and, in some instances, disrespectful behavior from the staff. It's sad, as we had eagerly looked forward to enjoying the food.

Don't bother with their overpriced roast dinners. We waited 35-40 minutes for a predominantly cold plate of food, needed to get to the Brentford game so just eat what we could. I can't believe the prices. £70+ for a sharing platter of pork which said it was for 3 people. We were a table of 3, ordered an additional individual plate of beef hoping to have a lot of food but the portions were pathetic. Most of the items on the sharer came in items of 2. Like how do 2 Yorkshires feed 3 people? The pork belly was tasty for the little bit of pork and crackling there was but it was predominantly fat and stuffing. The pork tenderloin was horrendously over cooked and could have doubled up as a truncheon for the police that wandered through the pub. The server allowed us to substitute a few things, mainly due to allergies and was attentive to our table (and patient as one of us ran later than our booking) but they 100% need new kitchen staff so service suffers for the wait, temperature, portion size and quality of food, which is kind of everything that's important. Our friend who had the beef said it was excellent but the rest of the plate was poor and couldn't understand how they'd done the hardest part right and failed everywhere else. Sounds about right. May get an extra star if the food was hot but I wouldn't bother again.

Me and my partner came for a meal after finding the venue online as we were staying a short distance across Kew Green. Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted by a young gentlemen called Eddie who showed us to our table and couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. The venue itself was clean and tidy whilst being quite busy for a wet Monday evening but service was quick and efficient. My wife ordered a prawn and squid starter which was beautifully cooked and presented whilst I had the scotch egg and once again beautifully cooked. For mains we had chicken and chips and a chicken and leek pie and oh my god the pie (homemade) was gorgeous and so filling! (The only complaint as I couldn't fit in a dessert!) All of this was washed down with a lovely bottle of pinot from the ample wine menu. All in all a wonderful experience and next time we are in the area we shall definitely return!

Don't eat here! I went for dinner with my partner before we visited Kew Gardens. On the website the menu and restaurant looked lovely - however this wasn't the case. The restaurant itself was freezing cold - the men's toilets were accessed by going outside so people were in and out constantly, letting a cold breeze in. It didn't seem like they had the heating on. Only half the items were available on the main menu, which was very disappointing. Food took almost 45 mins to arrive, which wasn't worth the wait. My partner had beef rump, which they said was very nice. However the 'pomme puree' that came with it tasted like microwave mash. I had the 'waygu beef burger'. The meat was burnt and was no better quality than a burger you'd find in wetherspoons. The onion rings were very tasty and the wedges were all right. The ketchup available tasted incredibly cheap. The restaurant itself was pretty dirty and seemed uncared for. The mirrors and doors had lots of dirt on them, and the walls were covered in black marks. The toilets bordered on unhygienic - the floor was disgusting and the sink had black marks all in it. The staff weren't particularly friendly - when we walked in it took ages for a member of staff to speak to us as they were all standing around chatting, and when we asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill they reacted rudely and didn't seem interested in finding out what the issue was. Overall we spent £50 on two meals and cokes that were worth about half the price.

Happy to give this place another go, as we've only briefly visited for drinks and it does look lovely. It was moderately busy when we visited. 🍷Mulled wine was ok, served in a regular water glass. We found the bar person very hard to understand not because of his strong accent, but because he was mumbling very quietly and not clarifying our orders, once he asked "anything else?" and literally walked off to speak to a colleague before letting us answer. Not a big deal, but altogether it did make us feel like he wished we weren't there bothering him 🫖 I was not offered staff help or even a tray to carry 4 drinks including milk and sugar for tea, so I had to make two trips to the bar. Again, not a big deal, but did not add to the overall _welcoming_ experience. 🚺 There is only one women's toilet for the whole pub, and at that it's not the cleanest.

I felt urged to write and explain my experience of Christmas Day. We arrived early with my son and 90 year old mother. We were going to be seated in the corner in the back of the pub, which felt extremely claustrophobic. I feel there shouldn’t actually be a table in that dark corner. I was told our table was arranged for upstairs but unfortunately my mother could not go up the stairs. We choose to sit in the garden area which had a heater above the table and blankets. Initially it was fine to sit there but eating my Christmas lunch with my coat on wasn’t really what I had planned, I was hoping I’d be sitting in a cosy area with a fireplace! People kept going outside the back doors to smoke and leaving the door open so cold air was constantly coming in, my legs were extremely cold! The smell of smoke was also not very nice! The Christmas lunch itself was really nothing special cooked by someone who does not understand what a traditional roast should be. There was no bread sauce, cranberry sauce, the vegetables were over cooked and the nut roast tasted like baked beans and sweet! For £95 per head this really was not what I expected. There were many pubs I could have chosen to go to, The Greyhound was recommended by my son who has visited twice. We live in North London so had to travel far. The only nice thing about our lunch was that as a family we were together. Many thanks for your service.

Having seen a few good reviews we decided to book for food before Kew gardens and were told in advance that we had to have the festive menu (not including drinks) for £35pp and pre order it a couple of weeks in advance. Fine as we were up for it based on good reviews and believing it to be money well spent. On arrival we were the only table with Christmas crackers and all other tables which had been reserved, when they arrived, were given the a la carte. We then got immediately asked what drinks we’d like and asked for a couple of minutes which the waiter nodded and then stood at our table for a couple of minutes over us while we chose. (Have seen previous reviews saying very attentive staff but perhaps too over attentive…) The order that came out was initially wrong, though they quickly rectified this. The food was okay but all seemed like it had come from the microwave and very different from what we’d expect at any place described as a gastro pub. The desserts especially were not very nice. The waiters were nice and kind but the vibes as described were just a bit…odd. Won’t come again.

Great traditional pub, the lunch deal is unbeatable value. Beautiful view over the village green. Barmaid was a little slow 😊

Nice pub, pretty standard beer prices for the area and nice food. Friendly service too and outside areas that I would assume are great in the summer, looking forward to that!
