The best restaurants serving British food in Newham London

Occasionally go here for some breakfast. Nice seating space with plenty of walking space between table, service and food good but slightly slow. Was recommended from an OAP neighbour who used to use it every day and they took good care of him when he went in.

Tenía muchas ganas de esta comida y estaba tan decepcionado. Describiría la comida como buena. Sin embargo, las mesas están tan cerca que es imposible tener una conversación privada. Pedí dos botellas de vino de la carta de vinos y ninguna de ellas estaba disponible. El camarero fue muy agresivo y trató de persuadirme para comprar un vino italiano que no quería - se sentía bastante incómodo. La camarera que nos atendió era encantadora y parecía un poco incómoda a pesar de que nada de eso era su culpa.

Generous offer from manager in response to last visit issues and unhappiness. We were not looking for freebies by the way - first in my 75 years I realised. Sunday lunch: decent meals this time. Everything cooked well and decent portions. Lamb shank, beef and the beef/turkey plate. Staff were solicitous in looking after us. Thank you to Georgina and staff.

The setting is beautiful but worth noting that the more expensive set menu diners go up stairs and a la carte diners stay downstairs. However it is much better value and the food was delicious. I was a bit wary as it has to be pre ordered but it was cooked to perfection. The other bonus is you keep the table for the interval so I’ll do this every time now.

The pies were full of flavour and probably the tastiest pies we've had in East London. Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff and such a cosy place to have dinner and spend the evening in. Definitely worth visiting again ad again.

buscando comer antes del concierto me fui un poco tarde en todas partes tenía colas, excepto pastel cuadrado (pronto descubrí por qué) así que elegí comer allí Escogí un filete de empanada / riñón chips cerveza de guisantes blandos (14) pastel estaba bien las patatas fritas estaban tibias y horrible el pastel es pequeño, sería bueno ofrecer un pastel más grande para mayores apetitos, no hay atmósfera, aunque la comida es razonable. Salí sintiéndome de mala relación calidad-precio. Triste es decir que nunca elegiría el pastel cuadrado. de nuevo

Came here because of good ratings here. Well… when waiters don’t know neither their job nor the food they serve, it gets kinda difficult. Food was better than the professionalism and service. Dissappointed Could have been good with proper management and staff with the slightest experience

A massive plateful with olives,croutons.cucumber,tomatoes and good lettuce and leaves more than I could eat and cheap

I ordered 4 rotis, large shis, 1 Nahari they give me 2 roti and large shis, after 20 minutes later they brought another 2 rotis amd NHARI but it is cord taste coming taste,also bitter flavour and i told to manager but they are not accepting, still arguing and arguing…

Great experience at the pub although we didn't stay at the hotel. Poli was a wonderful server...food was excellent and the atmosphere was lively. Definitely recommend if you're in the area

Supported someone who had experience a house fire. He stayed at the Royal Oak by Greene King. All of the staff were good. But reception worker, Hayley was fantastic. She paid attention to detail and she cared. I am very grateful for her service.

I’d like to start with mentioning amazing service from one of the team members. She’s Polish with blonde hair. She’s very professional and friendly. I’ve been visiting Pret for many years. One thing didn’t change it’s the quality of sandwiches. This particular Pret offers comfy seating area and quiet zone. Highly recommend it.

Absolute shocker. Staff overwhelmed and chaotic. Given my pastry then got it snatched back,, then returned to me.People being given drinks before me who had paid way after. Staff useless. Worst dump ever. Almost missed my train and had to leave without my drink. THE worst place I've ever been ripped off in. NEVER AGAIN. POOR

Very attentive staff. It was very busy, but professionalism was held to a high standard. The shrimp were slightly overcooked, the fried chicken burger was moist, but chewy on the Edges. Otherwise, descent meal four stars given. Cheese burger was as expected for this establishment. Chips were excellent.
