This was our first pub visit after arriving in London. A busy place on a Friday night, and a friendly atmosphere with good food

Great place ! Super friendly staff , had a fish finger sandwich and drink for £8 . The fish finger was absolutely delicious! Lots of parking too . Real good

We went to dinner and the truth is that it was horrible, we ordered different cocktails and they didn't have anything on the menu, finally we decided on one of the two or three cocktails that they made and the glass was less than half and the price was 14 pounds, we complained and they didn't care... The food was horrible, the fish and cheaps were the worst, dried fish, frozen potatoes... the foot was cold inside... total we will never return, never more…..ah!!!! and when we ask for the bill they give us a surcharge of 11 pounds for the service, without warning. But what service???? of course we don't pay for that…..a scam, I don't recommend it, better the Chinese one across the street!!!

Perfect for Sunday family gatherings. Kids and dogs friendly, great selection of cocktails and roast cooked to perfection.

This is the worst place to go for food, food tastes soo bad and the people working there are so rude, do not even think to go here for anything, I also saw a rat running under a table in this place and honestly, I would not recommend going here

Good afternoon, Hope everyone is doing good. Just now 8:20-8:22PM 27 April me and my friend who felt little bit thirsty we went to having some drink then that lad he showed unwelcomeing gesture told us they don't have any job before hearing what we want is very unprofessional and racist attitude , I don't know the person name. He is tall and knotting hair. We were really sorry for ourself that we came back thirsty. I don't have any idea, tge world become so cruel.

Had an amazing lunch with My dog here. Ask them for some chicken and vegetables... it was all the small details. The manager brought another bowl for her to eat out off. The chef knew it was for a doggo and gave it cool. So impressed with this place. Will go again. Thank you for all the staff that was friendly.

Recommended place, they treated us very kindly, everything and a large group arrived and half an hour before the kitchen closed, the food was also very good.

We had a lovely 1 night stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. Poli on reception was great, check in was easy and she was super helpful. Location is great for the ExCel and City Airport. The DLR is close by to get you where you want.

A great pub with good vibes, delicious food, and excellent service! Parking available and close to lots of hotels if you are staying in the area.

Only come for the breakfast and it's real good, the fox is quiet and clean..strongly recommend as there really isn't anything good clean or close to the excel

Food was lovely service was very good and poli was unreal. Went above and beyond to help us. Will definitely be staying here again and telling all of our friends and colleagues about here

The house and pub are typical old English buildings. The pub is exactly what a tourist would expect. The menu includes typical dishes such as pie or fish and chips. These dishes are delicious. The sunny terrace can be windy and is next to busy roads and landing planes fly close by. When there is a big rush there are long queues in front of the counter.

Fox Connaught recently hosted a Happy Hour event for us, and I couldn't have been more pleased! The service was impeccable, accommodating, and flexible. The food was excellent, with a range of appetizers, we got great feedback about the choice and quality. Thanks especially to Poli who managed the event for us and helped us coordinate throughout the evening, I really appreciated her diligence and accountability, and she helped to make the event wonderful for us! Highly recommend this space for hosting events, and I plan to come back for a meal later this week!

We dropped into The Fox Connaught on Tuesday 18th March to meet our son. We had the lunch special including a drink. Our experience was so good…. Food was delicious and very good value for money!!! We were served by a wonderful lady called Poli!!!! This is the way hospitality should be done. Nothing was too much trouble for her from serving our food, giving directions and being the most efficient and very pleasant lady in general. She made us feel very welcome and we’ve all said Poli alone would actually remind us to revisit the Fox Connaught next time we’re in that part of London.

Refreshing, eating place, different to others around. Not just an old boozer for males. maybe summer outside furniture will liven / refresh

Sat down in the restaurant area with a colleague for a drink and some food around 9pm. Was told "restaurant service" was done, but that we could try and order at the bar. The self-declared restaurant manager was super vague about whether we could still get food that way. Bartender was way more helpful, and eventually we still had our (good) food at the same table. So weird.

Nice place run by nice people, it does need some money spending on it. Made up by the lovely staff. Nice food.

Polly was an amazing host. Such a busy night during Move IT weekend at The Exel she made us feel welcome and ensured our meals arrived as quickly as we could hope during such a busy night. She was so personable and friendly and we will definitely visit again.

A very good sized pub, the prices for drinks are very low for the area and it boasts a good number of chairs and tables. When we went we were entertained by good quality live music which was a nice surprise, as we were not expecting a singer. It appeared to be frequented by mainly locals but the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Good location but that’s about the only positive. The room was very dated with many broken items and outdated non functioning items. Bathroom had no hot water for two days, mould and a non functioning exhaust fan.

Top notch experience, absolutely exquisite cuisine, well cooked and excellent service to match. Will definitely be recommenfing to friends & family in future.

The food menu is limited and the portions are a bit tight fisted for the money. It's busy because there's no competition around an they don't accept cash.

Only visited the pub / restaurant. Very busy in the evening with people who seemed to be working in Excel. Food was o.k. but not great and quite pricey.

Fantastic staff, rooms could do with an update but are perfectly serviceable especially for the money. Be aware there is no lift to the rooms.

While our initial experience was excellent, our checkout was completely overshadowed by the rude and dismissive behavior of two staff members, leaving us feeling discriminated against based on both our age and appearance. Initially, I had a great experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Poli, who was extremely friendly and helpful. She took the time to explain the hotel’s facilities and even showed us to our room and the side entrance for late-night access. Later that evening, around 10:30 PM, we visited the bar, where both the bartender and waitress provided excellent service. The waitress professionally informed us that the bar would be closing soon, which we appreciated. However, the following morning at checkout, we encountered two extremely unprofessional staff members who treated us in a completely unacceptable manner. When we approached the reception desk to check out, the two staff members—a woman behind the desk and a man leaning against it—ignored us while they carried on a personal conversation. When they finally acknowledged us, the woman rolled her eyes before giving her colleague a subtle nod, prompting him to turn to us and dismissively ask, “You okay?” We explained that we were checking out and handed over our room key, to which he quickly muttered “Thanks, guys” before immediately turning back to his conversation, making it clear that we were nothing more than an inconvenience. This treatment was not just rude and unprofessional—it made us feel unwelcome and judged. The stark contrast between the exceptional service we received the night before and the dismissiveness we faced at checkout suggests that we were treated differently because of our age and attire. It felt as though, because we were dressed casually ready for a long journey 6 hour journey from London to North Wales and were younger guests, we were not afforded the same level of respect as others. No guest should ever be judged or treated unfairly based on their age or clothing, and this experience has left us deeply disappointed.

Amazing service! We were in a hurry to catch a show, and the staff made sure our food arrived super quickly. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even with multiple allergies in our group. Our waitress was so friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Inexpensive food for London but tonight thry had no cask ales, or steak, or steak pie, or apple strudle - nothing I tried to order was available

Had a really lovely Sunday roast while watching the football. The atmosphere was cosy and comfortable and it is right next to our hotel which was a bonus! We were served by Poli and she was absolutely wonderful, very cheerful and kind! Would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area or staying at one of the local hotels!

We were looking forward a traditional English pub meal close to the Excel and this did not disappoint. Their Sunday roasts were superb (I had the veggie wellington)

Absolutely loved having the sunday roast here. Lovely atmosphere and plenty of seating. Easy to get to from our hotel (Travelodge London City Airport) and the event center we visited (ExCel). The server (Foli) was super friendly as well! Would love to come back here for another meal!

Even when a Large group like us walked in, Poli was amazing to make space for us and make sure we were all looked after. She was bright and energetic which is rare in Hospitality ❤️

Stayed here the night while visiting Excel. We were welcomed by Poli who went above and beyond for the entirety of our stay. The rest of the team were all delightful and always gave us friendly service. The room itself was well equipped with AC and radiators as well as a tv. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. Location is great and right next to public transport. 100% would stay again

Stayed at The Fox Connaught for 2 nights while visiting the motorbike show at the Excel. What a fabulous little gem of a hotel! We had a lovely welcome from Poli who couldn't do enough for us. The room was spotlessly clean, everything you'd need from a hotel room. Value for money for the location was amazing. We had an evening meal in their restaurant and it was outstanding! The young waitress that served us was more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. Only a couple of gripes we had were that my partner booked a small room which was of course on the top floor!! The number of stairs to get to our room in the attic, and being that there was no lift, was a hike!! Being a listed building there was no way of installing a lift so it was understandable! Hey ho, we got our step count in several times!! 🤣. The other was the lack of choice for breakfast and the member of staff on duty behind the bar wasn't very helpful! He was quite miserable actually. We sat at a table for 15mins while he just stood behind the bar. We then decided we must have to go up to the bar to order food. He didn't come over to rhe table once. No fruit juice or teas/coffees with breakfast. £3 for a tea. Would have been better if there was a buffet style with cereals etc. Better value at a Premier Inn. After all that I wouldn't hesitate to book here for a stay again but we'll pay the extra £20 for a larger room and probably have breakfast across the way at the Premier Inn!!

We came here yesterday as we were going to an event in London. We had lunch, and then came back for dinner later. The service was amazing. We were served by Poli, who was so very polite and kind and helpful. Service was an easy 5 stars from Poli. The food as well was amazing. The burgers we had for lunch were crispy and delicious. Usually hotel restaurants don't have great food, but this place does. I also had a curry later for dinner and the presentation looked great and the food was delicious, again. I didn't stay in the hotel, I just came for the food.

This location is an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of the local business area. The food is lovely, fairly priced for London and always arrives in good time. The bar staff are very accommodating and kind and the server, Poli, is fantastic! She’s funny, easy to talk to and has everything you need ready for you before there’s even chance to ask. Not to mention that she remembers us from the last time we were here a yeah ago which makes us feel so so welcome and happy to be back here once more. We will be coming back to the fox everyone we’re in the area, if only to chat to Poli!
