The Royal Oak in Newham

Service in this restaurant is limited, diners are expected to go to the bar and pay for drinks before they are served. A similar strategy is in place for ordering food. Overall the food was expensive for what it was and disappointing.

Popped in for lunch... had the smashed burger and chips. REALLY good food. The chips were amazing. Service very friendly and very quick. Will definitely return!

First visit to this beautiful pub. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The Sunday roast was delicious, plenty of meat and veg served with roast potatoes and mash which we loved.. Excellent value for money with large portions. A beautifully cooked homemade roast. Highly recommend.

Well the new owners have settled in and the food is back on, and I have to say it is “superb pub food” I had the home made lasagna which was simply delicious and wifey had the steak in ale pie (proper chips!) which looked equally good! Well done. Dog friendly with lots of atmosphere 👍

the pub is set in a perfect spot and the food and drinks are absolutely bang on! Jill & Paige are the couple that run the place and they are a great laugh aswel as super friendly. The food was the best I've had in a long while and was cooked to exactly how i liked it, the steak is unreal here and there's always a great atmosphere in this pub too. Always come back here because of the first time service i received and now i would very rarely go anywhere else!

I decided to travel to the Peak district for the weekend on a bit of a solo journey (after a pretty harsh week breaking up with my partner) and found myself stopping in Kings Bromley for a bite to eat as it was getting late. Fortunately they were still serving food at the Royal Oak in Kings Bromley, and I was met with great service from the bar staff and kitchen before ordering a pint and meal on my pit stop. Not only was the food amazing (and a really generous portion) but the chef who served my food was incredibly professional and friendly. It probably tasted even better thanks to the friendly and hospitable staff. Also loved the fact there was a caged parrot that I only noticed mid way through my meal, you really don't see that everyday! All in it was a great experience and I highly rate this pub for both food and drinks! Thanks again Royal Oak! Tom

Great staff, kind and friendly. So clean and pleasant place. Amazing pool table and plenty of choices to set and eat or even enjoy a bit of sun in the beautiful beer garden. Would recommend to all my friends and family can not wait to go back.

Very average pub food with undercooked chips. Not sure how the salad been kept but the peppers were slimy. The place needs a good clean. The cobwebs around the lights near our table had clearly been there for some time. The toilets are awful - not sure when the floor was last brushed let alone mopped. The dust and dirt was inches thick around the edges of the cubicle. Won’t be returning any time soon which is a shame because the front of house staff were friendly and helpful.

Popped in today and chose pie and chips off the menu.. as stated it was a pie from the butchers so expectations were high!... what arrived on the plate was a pukka pie and half cooked chips! The pie was fine as a pukka pie is but please don't state on the menu it's from the butchers when clearly it's not.. very disappointing

The Chef The chef is a real asset not just as long a real chef but also a thoroughly nice guy, could not do enough outstanding hospitality tonight. Came to celebrate best buds birthday. We had the gammon steak omg the portion size was amazing followed by Eton mess and citrus lemon tart ..
