The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

A lovely little pub in one of the most expensive areas of London. Expected a boozer and then a posh man with a hat and tails greeted us on the door, which is very fitting for the area. A decent pint in a traditional setting

It's fabulous here. We were treated to lunch on Friday and we had a great experience! Lovely welcome, really appreciated the level of service here! Beautifully laid tables and comfy seating. We enjoyed a cocktail before our meal,It was hard to choose mg main course as there were some great choices on the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed a very nicely cooked Steak and my fries with Truffle and Parmesan were gorgeous. We had some very good Wines with our meal . Everything was superb and we were given lots of time at our table. We were guests of Mr Wright and can honestly say this whole experience really was a treat and we look forward to coming again.

Very disappointing final meal in London! Our family was leaving London the next day so we thought a “farewell” meal on the canal would be a great ending to a great holiday. However, our reservation of six (6) was seated next to a loud & lively party of eleven (11). While the restaurant was busy, they could have easily secured us a table a bit farther away from this group. They were very loud with no situational awareness, as multiple people in their party would push past us to speak to others in their group, including having their rear ends in our table! Moving on, our server was incredibly disinterested in us. It took the server 10-15 minutes simply to acknowledge us. He didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink. He simply asked what we wanted to eat. The only good part of this experience was the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals but we were quick to leave the restaurant after finishing, opting to go elsewhere for dessert and coffee/tea.

Came here with my friends on Friday, was served by Nicholas and Khalid, they were very friendly and made sure everything we needed was attended to, made the visit very pleasant, 10/10 from me.

Traveling for work and stopped off for dinner. Oh my God the Cod! Absolutely delicious!! Stunning wait staff, super attentive and lovely. Even comped my wine just because my cod took 'longer than it should have' to arrive - I really didn't notice this and don't think it could have been over 30 minutes which is a pretty normal amount of time to wait for good food. Salted brownie was also banging - took it to go and have to say it tastes even better when eaten in a bath :D Atmosphere only lost 1 star because of the finance bros which really isn't the restaurants fault but who's annoying boastful brags can put anyone off their food.

Went for a birthday celebration, table booked for 3.30 left 5.45! Left waiting for for 35 mins for sandwiches - well four on a huge plate and very small, tea arrived 10 mins after we sat down. After asking what was happening was informed the cup of soup had run out and we could have the sandwiches first - not ideal but we went with it. Again Luke warm and average I can’t call it a sausage roll it was no bigger than my thumb nail. By the time the cakes arrived they were setting up for evening service !! Had a slate with happy birthday and given a box to take it away in case we were full and then asked to pay. When we said how we feel the rude receptionist didn’t like what we said - we just said we was disappointed- £150 for 2 people with one glass of pink fizz each £10 of the bill was for bottled water. I would definitely NOT call this an afternoon tea, in my personal opinion do not waste your money there is far better and far cheaper for example the Ritz

All staff were friendly and helpful . Can't complain .

We stayed at the Dean Street Townhouse in early April 2025 for about 5 days and absolutely loved it. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of SoHo but out of the bar fray by about a block, right next to the subway line that takes you to Heathrow. We found that this location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do - in SoHo, easy bike or walk or subway to Mayfair, St James, theatres and the City. The SoHo club up the street is fantastic as are the restaurants within a block. We loved coming back home - the staff were wonderful and very helpful with recommendations. They also took great pains to get us into our room early when our flight got us there long before check in. The room was excellent - great bed, all the things like chargers that you need, and the most incredible amazing shower I’ve ever had in a hotel. London is great regardless but have to say that staying here would be a big decider in coming back to London again soon. I only had the beer and I have to say it was good. Visited on a Sunday evening so it was virtually empty
