Very disappointing final meal in London! Our family was leaving London the next day so we thought a “farewell” meal on the canal would be a great ending to a great holiday. However, our reservation of six (6) was seated next to a loud & lively party of eleven (11). While the restaurant was busy, they could have easily secured us a table a bit farther away from this group. They were very loud with no situational awareness, as multiple people in their party would push past us to speak to others in their group, including having their rear ends in our table! Moving on, our server was incredibly disinterested in us. It took the server 10-15 minutes simply to acknowledge us. He didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink. He simply asked what we wanted to eat. The only good part of this experience was the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals but we were quick to leave the restaurant after finishing, opting to go elsewhere for dessert and coffee/tea.

We've been regulars at Waterway and have always enjoyed the ambience and the food. On our recent visit, we ordered a bottle of wine and a dessert to share. Unfortunately, the cookie dough was far too sweet and undercooked — we could barely get through the portion we had. Instead of requesting a replacement, we politely asked for an extra scoop of ice cream to balance the sweetness, but were told we’d need to pay for it. For a place we’ve supported regularly, this felt unnecessarily rigid. It’s not good service, and certainly not a good way to treat your customers. A little flexibility and care would’ve gone a long way. Sadly, this experience left a sour taste. Would not recommend the cookie dough.

Disgraceful… took away my pint of Guinness early, and they came back with this. Won’t come back…

It was ok. food is ok atmosphere is ok for locals, for tourist so-so. Waiters don’t empty tables, we had starter and when main course came waiter looked at as with hands full of plates. We moved plates from first course and he just left not collecting old plates.

A luxurious restaurant with professional work that is not known to visitors from outside the country.

Awful - absolute disgrace of a place and I would avoid at all cost. They can’t decide what they are. A river side bar ? A Gastro pub ? A posh restaurant? We arrived and the place was packed. Was given a dodgy table that when folks walked past the table would jiggle about. So asked to move inside. Talk about jumping out the frying pan into the fire! We had around 5 minutes of peace when our senses were assaulted by the sudden materialisation of a crèche. Loads of kids rocked up - the youngest probably a few weeks old if that, screaming, crying, throwing tantrums. Absolutely vile how parents think the public should be saddled with screaming babies, toddlers and even a 10 year old was having a meltdown. Even worse none of the staff was bothered to ask them to handle the situation and their child. None of the parents went outside to calm the child instead just sitting there sipping wine and conveniently ignoring their screaming devils. Then the food came. Starters the croquets tiny balls of mash fried and only 3 given in a sauce. Plain. Chicken wings tasteless, just tasted oil. The mains - swordfish, small pieces draped over aubergine and lentil type of mash with zero seasoning. I’m from the Seychelles and we know how to prepare fish, for £30 this was a disgrace. Even worse to come the chicken burger you wouldn’t serve to a serial killer, this dry, burned and over cooked piece of meat ( we think ? More like leather ) for his last meal. You would pity the poor fool. So why then are you charging £17 for this ? Alongside soggy brown horrid chips ? The staff did not check on the food. The food we came for via the fork app wasn’t available, your menu was limited and I understand it was Mother’s Day - but don’t serve people sub par food or open if you don’t have the staff if you’re a busy location . Then you won’t be garnering reviews like this one. Came here for a date and we stayed exactly one hour and bolted out of there quicker than you can say KFC - which is where we are now going to have proper chicken burgers. We were charged full price and we had the 50 % fork app food festival. Nobody checked on us or the quality of the food and asked if we were okay - so we removed the service charge. Terribly disappointing. Youre charging high end food prices to people and you can’t even provide a decent calm place for people to enjoy their meal. Everyone looked stressed out because the day was a bit warm and you had a few mothers in. This is by far the worst restaurant I’ve been to for a long time and I fail to understand the high ratings, raise your standard people and stop applauding mediocrity and greed. This is all of those things. The pictures looks better than the food tasted for sure !

I’m always so pleased with the service every time I visit Wright’s. The team is wonderful, and the experience is always fantastic. Emanuele is absolutely lovely, and the guy with glasses is hilarious—he always makes me laugh! The atmosphere is great, and I always have an amazing time when I’m there. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant a bit pricey but gets the job done for a close Friday night dinner

We went for lunch on sunday without a reservation, the restaurant was busy but the very kind manager with the white beard gave us a table for 2. Unfortunately the table was not the best because it was between the terrace and the dining room and there were a lot of people walking past us making the floor shake, the waiters and managers were running everywhere because the restaurant was quite busy which is totally understandable but all this rush was quite annoying. It took them a bit too long to take our order but overall the food and drinks came quickly. The food was just amazing, the potato croquettes were stunning, the hummus and bread were also very good. The main courses were also stunning, we had pan fried cod and lamb chops, very well executed. The desserts were very good, the espresso was also very good (which is not easy to find in London) the price was very fair and the location was fantastic. We will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Amazingly chill New Year’s Day in this riverside joint. The virgin mary rocked my socks off, especially when combined with the wonderfully crispy, chicken burger. Staff friendly and mostly on it, and let us hang for longer than expected. Highly recommended.

A wonderful addition to the local dining scene, offering excellent food and a memorable setting. Dear Manager, I am writing regarding my dining experience at The Waterway on 24.11.24. While the food and setting were excellent, I feel compelled to raise a significant issue that severely impacted our evening. Throughout our two-hour dinner, our experience was continuously disrupted by an inconsolable crying baby at a nearby table. While I understand that families are welcome in your establishment, the constant crying created an atmosphere that was not conducive to the fine dining experience your restaurant aims to provide. What was particularly disappointing was that neither the parents made any attempt to soothe their child or temporarily remove them from the dining room, nor did any staff member address the situation. The noise level was such that normal conversation at our table became difficult, and it significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable evening. I believe that as a restaurant positioning itself as a sophisticated dining destination, it would be appropriate to have policies in place to manage such situations. This could include respectfully asking parents to take distressed children outside until they are calmed, or offering to reseat affected customers when possible. I would appreciate your response regarding how such situations are typically handled at The Waterway, and what measures might be implemented to prevent similar disruptions to other diners in the future. The Waterway offered fantastic food, really good service, and even better management. I really recommend their steaks as it really was one of the best I had. The location was very welcoming, clean and elegant. On top of all of the above, what impressed me the most it was how management was able to handle an uncomfortable situation: During our lunch a mishap happened, and one of our personal items was damaged. Nonetheless, with extreme professionalism, the general manager Antonio, put effort in trying to remedy the situation, and proposed a satisfactory solution. I really recommend this place for its food, location and most importantly to the attention they give to its clients. An attention that I have never found anywhere else.

I had to wait between 15 and 20 minutes before I could order, even though I was ready. The service afterwards was quick. The meat was quality. I would have liked to have more salad. I refused the 12.5% ​​for the service. Normally it's at the client's discretion, but the boss came to ask me why. I explained to him that I waited too long to order. He said OK very quickly and very cordially, but his approach was intimidating.

The Sunday roast was a 5/10. Not worth £28. If they can fix that this place could be great. It's such a nice atmosphere.

Food didn’t live up to the promises made by the photos. Food was served tepid! Husbands steak was poor quality. Staff were helpful and apologetic. Quality from the kitchen very lacking!

It was a Sunday. They had a big party so they delayed taking our order so as not to have back up delays in the kitchen. There was no communication between the waiters. We were getting two waiters talking to us and any order given to one was not noted by the second waiter. When I asked about my dish, the waiter was vague in his reply and couldn't answer my question. The food was decent. The service and attention to the diners needs structure. They were obviously struggling to cope with the big party they were dealing with at a cost to the regular clientele.

Had the house burger, nothing Special at all

Very good first impression for a drink (only) last night, food was looking pricey but it was also looking to be well sold...!! To be tried again this time for more. The setting was great though...!!

Lovely place along the river. Had high hopes for this place but left disappointed. Service was decent and friendly, but not very knowledgeable. At least the waiter admitted he had no clue about wine, I'll give him that. But he didn't offer to get help from a sommelier. Neither did we get water. We had cod and tuna. The cod said pan fried in the menu. It clearly wasn't. It looked baked. It looked very sad. The tuna was clearly just seared (raw inside as it should) but on a grill pan so not seared all over which resulted in lack of taste for me (and the aesthetics of it is again sad). This type of location and venue should serve food and have service at a higher level. Not expensive but even at the price point it should be better as well. If I am nearby again I would go for drinks or just fries, looks like a great place in the summer.

Massive thank you to our server José, gave absolutely fantastic service to myself, my partner and my baby, a lovely venue and experience. Buttermilk chicken burger, Korean wings were sticky and delicious and chocolate brownie just melted in the mouth. Food was delicious, the canal view was nice and the restaurant itself was lovely. We went for the lunch menu of 3 courses and a drink for around £27 each and ordered extras.

We ate here for our anniversary and it was exceptional. We had the truffle fries which were amazing. The tuna and the chicken were some of the best we have ever had. My only regret is that we didn’t save any room for dessert as I had my eye on a couple of options. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely right by the fireplace. They had a large party inside but were very accommodating when we asked to sit elsewhere. We will definitely go back.

Great dinner with colleagues. Service very attentive. Menu was removed after ordering appetisers and then brought back for ordering mains “to allow more space to eat” and to create a relaxed environment in which you do not need to order everything upfront. I really enjoyed the fries with truffle, the pork belly bites (very unique and tasty) and my main which was a seared tuna. I asked for a very light cook and I like to eat it almost like a sashimi and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The waiter also suggested to have the sauce it comes with on a side so I could decide how much i wanted to taste the tuna flavour which for me was a very good quality, tender, moist and flavourful. Nice waterside pub but food was just so-so. I asked for salmon salad, got chicken salad. Staff were bored to death so took some work to get their attention. I would go for drinks and canalside setting but skip the food.

I ordered the superfood salad and paid extra to add hot smoked salmon. The salad was a massive portion and could easily be shared between two. The lemon dressing was exceptional and the balance between sweet and salty was perfect. 5*

If you have any form of intolerance, you will struggle food wise. When you get food, it's small for the price. You are not left alone to eat.

Harshika, who looked after us, made our experience outstanding. There were 6 of us and our small dog. The food was delicious.

What a lovely pleasant, friendly place. I am gluten free and the staff knew exactly what I could have without having to fuss. The food was amazing and being able to have a bun with my burger was fantastic. The waiter is a credit to you. Also the location was just perfect!

A little gem in Little Venice and a great date spot on a sunny summer evening when it’s still light and warm out at 9 pm, the terrace area is perfect! It does get busy so need to book in advance. Aubergine main dish was super yummy!

Food was delicious, it came so fast! I loved their selection of mocktails and the atmosphere was perfect with space heaters, blankets and riverside view. Cozy comfort… and the food reflected that too, with an elevated touch. The vegan options were delicious too, I had the plant-based black rice salad and the bang bang cauliflower. 😋

I have been wanting to come here for a while after passing it often on my way home from work. The location by the canal is lovely, surrounded by greenery. Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The dishes arrived quickly, which made them feel less than freshly prepared. The pork chop was lukewarm, the gnocchi with pesto didn’t taste homemade, and the sourdough turned out to be toast rather than actual sourdough bread. I would come back for a drink, but not food.

I recently dined at this beautiful restaurant in London, and I was absolutely blown away. The steaks are to die for—cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The wine selection was equally impressive, complementing the meal perfectly. The service was nothing short of spectacular; the staff made the entire experience unforgettable. Adorable place. Pricey but worth it. Nice atmosphere right on the canal. I wish I could take the rice salad I wanted but coriander ruined it for me. Instead I picked the salmon caesar salad. Awesome! Service was good too.

I loved the restaurant. The service and food were great. We’ll come back when back in London. Unfortunately we were surrounded by large, loud parties with unruly children that made it exceptionally hard to hear and have a conversation.

Nice place for a drink or dinner. Gets VERY busy after 6pm when it’s sunny. To the point the waiters are rushed off the feet and we were told the next diners are coming in 15mins as we were finishing up our meal. When booking it says tables are reserved for 2 hours, technically we still had the table for another 30mins…

Tightly well ran establishment. Service people were on point, gladly making way for us to stop for coffee on busy Saturday pm. Overall very clean and enjoyable place to stop for a quick pit stop.

Our waiter was the delightful Eddie. We were served quickly and the drinks and food were delivered very quickly. The restaurant was lovely and clean and we were given a table with a wonderful view of the canal. Overall, a lovely experience. Eddie was polite, courteous and attentive throughout. Thank you :-)

Great place great atmosphere but poor food. They are really trying hard but the British can't do this job. I think you should stick to the snacks.
