The Guinea Grill is exceptional. Top ambience, well mannered and humored clientele and what a feast. We enjoyed Guinness, red wine, kidneys, prawns and the rib eye steaks with the marvellous sides of dripping fries, peas and bacon and broccoli and chili. Finish off with bread and butter pudding and roll yourself home for a nice doze and slumber. Would appeal equally to London residents and tourists alike - one of the smartest streets in Mayfair.

We came for the steak having read that this restaurant had recent lot been voted into the top 100 steak restaurants on the world. We weren’t disappointed . There are others in London on this top 100 but we wanted a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The pub was buzzing with a lot of people drinking outside when we got there, but we were warmly greeted and ushered to a lovely corner table with a view of the whole room which was on the ground floor . Our drinks order was immediately taken by the quietly efficient and friendly waiter and bread was brought, accompanied by the waiters recommendation of Guinness butter … delicious! The restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday evening. We were here for the steak so skipped the starters to focus on the main event. He chose 16 oz sirloin with mashed potato and she chose filet with dripping chips. We shared a creamed spinach and a piquant bearnaise sauce. It certainly did not disappoint . The steaks were cooked and rested to perfection and were well seasoned to our tastes. The filet melted in the mouth and was juicy, he said the sirloin was delicious and a good thickness. The side dishes complimented well. The chips were big and chunky , crispy outside and perfect fluffy insides. The mash was light and creamy. The spinach also creamy and earthy. We were pretty full after that and we’re not going to have desert but the waiter recommended we share the signature bread and butter pudding, so we succumbed. This was the best bread and butter pudding we have had, very light and fruity with a crisp topping of sugar which really crowned it. The accompanying crème anglais sauce was delicious ( just needed more of that!). The waiter told us afterwards when we complimented it that it is made from brioche hence its lightness. It really was a superb meal and service that we could not fault. If you want really good steak in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go.

This place has a reputation for great pies and we went for my partner’s birthday with friends. The place is cramped, tables are so close together you are literally touching elbows of the person on the next table. The food was good, but for me did not live up to the hype! The service was passable, they forgot our wine, felt rushed to order our food, I mentioned in my booking that it was my partner’s birthday and they did nothing to celebrate it, very disappointing. When we ordered our last drink of the night again they missed one so only brought 3 instead of 4! Not a place I’d rush back to or revisit!

Contrary to the assertion in the intial response, I have dined at the Guinea grill twice. The food has always been average/fine, but it’s a good clubby atmosphere, hence why I was considering it for a private event. Sure, the 50% markup on the private dining menus was a bit of a rip off and notably more than far better restaurants nearby. Which is strange given this is essentially a gastro pub albeit in a great location. But hey it’s a free country charge what you want, don’t have a problem, only with the obnoxious and rude staff and can see the person who does the review responses is from the same school, perhaps it’s part of the training. Hilarious how up themselves some people can be, dude you work in a pub….. lol. I’m sure the food won’t get any better, but perhaps the staff will learn some manners. Unlikely but there you go. If you want a much better steak go to Hawksmoor, if you want a similar clubby vibe with more opulence and far better food served by delightful staff go to Rules, or for similar but a bit more genteel try Wilton’s. If you want 3* food at 5* prices staffed by some of the most arrogant people in London, I wholeheartedly recommend the Guinea Grill.

We came here on a London pub walk. We have been here before, years ago and had a good time but this time, not so good. Some of my family wanted a bite to eat and we were assured by the friendly bar staff we could sit in the restaurant and do this. After that we were made to feel very un comfortable by a particular older male member of staff who seemed nonplussed by our order of a selection of starters and sides. He then undertook a patronising tone with us which we don't appreciate. It is worth noting that of the 12 or so tables that were there, only one was occupied, which was then vacated shortly after. As the only paying customers in the establishment at this time, we should have been treated with due respect and fairness and this was not shown by this particular member of staff. It was unfortunate as the pub side was packed, but clearly there was a reason the restaurant side was empty (and it wasn't down to the other members of staff who were nothing short of polite and courteous). The food itself was good, albeit perhaps a little overpriced.

We were excited to try the traditional Sunday roast at The Guinea Grill, having heard so much about its classic British charm and popularity with Londoners. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive, making for a lovely afternoon out. To each their own, but for me, the roast wasn’t quite my favorite. That said, I’m really glad we visited. There’s something special about experiencing a place with such a long-standing reputation and loyal following. I’d definitely recommend it, at least for the experience. Like most reviews, this one is subjective, and your own taste and preferences may lead you to enjoy it even more than I did.

I ate at this pub a couple of weeks ago with a group of friends (each of us eat out regularly in this area of London at higher end restaurants - this was slumming it a bit, but you live in hope!), however we all found it rather disappointing. The food was average and the wine horribly over priced. It appears to forget that it is a pub, not a five star hotel/restaurant in the same area. We had two courses each and two bottles of wine between three of us (far from their most expensive) and spent just under £200 pp. In short it's a fairly nice, old fashioned pub, but it's not The Ritz or even one of the better steak houses in the area and certainly not worth that sort of money. In response to the owner/managers response. I'm not sure that you understood the meaning of my comment that you 'are not the Ritz' it wasn't intended as a compliment ! I would also disagree strongly with your assertion that you are one of the best steak houses in the area, trust me you are not - try eating in any Hawksmore, Goodmans, or any of the better hotels nearby. What you are (in my opinion) is an over-priced, fairly average pub, albeit one which would be worth visiting if you charged about half your current prices, in line with those that other similar quality pubs in your area do now.

While Guinea Grill has been a long standing well regarded steakhouse in London, somehow I never got around to visiting until my recent visit for dinner on a Thursday. The plan was to meet for a drink in the bar first, but this was totally rammed with only standing space outside, so we skipped it and went straight to the restaurant section which thankfully was fully separated to the bar. The place definitely gives off classic pub vibes but it was sad to see table sizes that were aggressively small. Me and my friend both went for the ribeye on the bone with a lamb chop each, plus shared sides of chips, creamed spinach and carrots. They did offer quite a wide selection of red wines (10+) by the glass. For dessert we tried the chocolate mousse and the pecan tart. The food was quite enjoyable. All the meat was perfectly cooked with a consistent pinkness throughout. Desserts were perhaps less exciting though, plus the table size continued to be a hindrance - for example some of the sides had to be served directly onto our plates as there was no space to leave them on the table. Service was quite friendly and things progressed quite smoothly. The bill for the 2 of us came to £320 of which £130 was spent on drinks. Overall a solid steakhouse experience albeit it wouldn’t feature in my top picks in London.

I don’t normally leave a poor review at any restaurant I visit, we can all have a bad day after all. I’m also not complaining about the £264 price for the four main courses and the £77 bottle of wine, we expected to pay well over the odds to eat in Mayfair and we knew that before we booked. After reading all the glowing reports regarding the Guinea grill I was expecting the food to be exceptional and we were looking forward to the visit. Three of us had the Sunday roast beef and one had the steak and mushroom pie. The roasts were average at best, the veg was Luke warm and the two slices of beef were rare rather than medium rare, also tough at the edges, the pie was far too salty, dry with little gravy and the pastry was tasteless. Maybe they’d had a long day but the staff seemed a little flat with little enthusiasm. We did not complain as there was nothing really specific to complain about other than “ we expected better” Really sad to say this but to be honest I would give it a miss and go to a Toby Carvery next time.

Ambience was okay. Met by a pretty moody front of house who didn’t crack a smile. Tables squished in. Lacklustre service. Very short, no personality to any service person. Ordered the beef Sunday Roast. Food was nice, but if you’re hungry, don’t expect a massive portion of either meat or veg. The gravy was more like a jus. One friend had the streak and mushroom pie. Again, nice but nothing to write home about. A bottle of still water was £7 and they didn’t offer tap water unless you asked. Not a bottle of wine on the menu for under £60 which makes it pretty prohibitive for a lazy lunch. All in all, glad I e experienced it but I won’t be rushing back. It could be brilliant but the service to push you in and out, the cost of drinks and the lack of anything remotely resembling friendliness from staff means I won’t recommend. There are definitely better places to spend your money in London.

Stylish, welcoming, smart surroundings. Accommodating and spacious for a guest in a wheelchair. The place was packed, but Diana impressed us, serving us swiftly, with a smile, remembering everything we asked. The food was great - I really enjoyed my fried chicken and waffle. But the live Motown music, and the atmosphere, was just outstanding. Singing, dancing - we will be back for more. Such a special experience.

Gem of an establishment in a fantastic location! Beautiful rooftop terrace with great views and a fine selection of drinks, perfect for the weather we've been having as of late👌🏽 The service we recieved was next to none, both Maisy and Nyron had fantastic chat, gave great recommendations, and made us feel right at home!

Beautiful hotel facing Green Park and adjacent to Mayfair. From the entrance to the bar/lounge and then the staff to the canapes...it smells luxurious and has the opulent feel to it. Very modern decor with clean fine space. I visited a showcase a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. It's a 5 minute walk from the green park station and sits next door to Grand Sheraton I think it's called. The rooms are either in a teal (those facing Green park) or autumn colour (those facing Mayfair) Large bathrooms and shower rooms, they have an upper floor lounge room for guests to just relax. Also enclosed are the gym, spa treatment rooms, sauna, jacuzzi and the likes. They have an outdoor seating area for meals and their restaurant serves some of the best afternoon teas in London. Pricing is relatively and can range from btw £200-1500 per night depending on which room is booked. I strongly recommend and would love to visit again and again. Oh not to forget the canapes and cocktails, they just kept flowing 😋 I have shared pictures of some of the spectacular spaces, meeting rooms and bedrooms ❤️ definitely high-end

My first time trying this place. Very lively and great staff. Food was really tasty and the staff were very attentive and friendly despite the fact they were busy at all times. I highly recommend this place.
