Food is excellent. Atmosphere is excellent. Staff efficient but lack any engagement with customers. They should know that they are allowed to smile and look the customer in the eye.

Food is nice. Tables super close together. The waiter was lovely. However they took another drink order (second bottle), poured a glass then told us we had to leave in 15 mintues. It's not on - I won't be back. Shame.

Have dined here many times over the last 20 or so years. The Guinea changed hands a few years ago and staff seemed to get a bit of an attitude after that. It was all different and back to normal Guinea high standards this time. Lateral expansion which enabled a second ground floor dining room was very well done, the reprehensible tight, hot “snug” where they always wanted to shove me has been torn out. Food was superb, the waiter gracious and it was an altogether wonderful experience. Glad I decided to give it one more shot.

I visited the restaurant for lunch with my wife and was not disappointed. Simply everything about the experience is fantastic. Great staff, friendly and knowledgeable. The service is on point and the food top drawer. I can recommend the goats cheese tart for starters, the 10oz fillet for mains and the pecan tart for dessert. Definitely worth a visit, make sure you book and will return. Highly recommended!!

Fourth time for a meal at Guinea Grill. Another fabulous experience. Started off with the person who greeted us. We were early for our reservation, and he guided us to the bar for a glass of wine so we would not be waiting in a crowded area. He also assisted us with our wine selection for the meal. Once seated, the service and food were excellent. Always make it a point to have dinner at GG when we are in London.

Great early dinner where the quality of food was excellent and the service outstanding. We had seafood cocktail and beef wellington which were both lovely. The team were attentive but not overbearing and the menu was not too big but offered something for everyone. It was packed outside with drinkers which created a great atmosphere and the restaurant is very well located in the centre of London.

The Guinea Grill is one of the oldest (1675) and most iconic pubs in London. Steeped in history the food and drinks here tip their hat to Great British tradition- excellent steak kidney mushroom pies, plenty steak & chips options, and beef Wellington are all on offer here at their highest standard. We had the steak and mushroom pie with a side of chips and creamy spinach, it was superb. Even if you're not eating, the bar serves up one of the best pulled Guiness in London which you can pair with oysters (highly recommended). The wine selection is carefully selected and vast, but be prepared to get your wallet out if you want a bottle- it ain't cheap. Plenty selections by the glass to keep costs down if need be. Or the Guiness of course. One of Londons best pubs and therefore by default one of the best pubs in the world. Long may it continue to serve the people of this city- hopefully for another 349 years!! Hear hear!

The Guinea Grill has long been my must go-to stop on every visit to London - for the superb Young’s Original and now Harvey’s Sussex Best and, above all , the steak, kidney, and mushroom pie (the excellent and reasonably priced wine cellar is also a draw). I was disappointed to see the new incarnation of the pies: smaller and without their unique ruffle crown - but the texture and taste are still unsurpassed and theres plenty if substance. I was amazed to learn that the sticky toffee pudding contains more than 1200 kcals! Lastly, the Young’s is inexplicably served at well below cellar temperature; impossibly cold to properly finish a cask beer. Please fix this, cellarperson!

Fabulous! Guinea Grill has an old school charm and blends a lovely traditional London pub bar at the front with an air conditioned fine dining restaurant to the rear. Our party of four were celebrating so we pushed the boat out with the extensive wine list but there were plenty of cheaper options available that anchors The Guinea as a London pub rather than mingling with Mayfair's stratospheric prices. We tucked into our old favourites like steak, pies, devilled kidneys and puddings that fully live up to their billing.

We stay at the Lansdowne club when in London and have been to the Guinea Grill many time before the pandemic. Always the BEST in service, food, atmosphere and menu. My husband loves it even more than I do (if thats possible!). He would always have steak or pork chop and i would usually have steak and kidney pie. We always ended up with sticky toffee pudding which we shared. He had wine, i had sangria. Since the pandemic i have come alone to london, last year for wimbledon, a friend came with me to the guinea Grill for lunch. He knows it and loves it. This year i went 3 times there. I ate at the bar each time, i had guiness, grilled kidneys on toast, and rock oysters! sticky toffee pudding or cheesecake. Everything super!! The reservation was made to celebrate my partners birthday. He had been looking forward to an evening of good food & wine in a friendly atmosphere. The reality was completely different. I arrived first, I noticed the table was located not too far from the disabled toilet. You could smell a chemical smell in the air. On this evening it had been raining heavily- I don’t know if it caused an effect to the drainage outside but I knew I did not want to be seated there so asked to be moved to another table. Once my partner arrived and was seated. Before asking for his drink order or engaging with us. The waiter proceeded to alert us of when the table would be needed for the next reservation at 20:30 and we should order our mains as quickly as possible. Bearing in mind we were not late, we were 30 mins early. I have never experienced that kind of bluntness from any restaurant before. “How do you think you can get away with applying pressure to eat and go?” I chose to overlook this behaviour as I knew my partner was looking forward to eating there so this was not addressed. His main was a Ribeye Steak for £46 with no sides. You would get a better cut out of a supermarket. The steak was very fatty and partly inedible. The garlic butter which was supposed to melt over the steak was almost frozen and would not melt. The chips resembled McCain’s triple cut chips. My main which was the Beef mixed grill wasn’t great either, this tasted reheated instead of freshly prepared. Shortly after the main course the waiter proceeded to spill my partners glass of red wine on him. Instead of clearing the table and did not apologise for his clumsy error. When making the reservation I had informed the staff member that it was my partners birthday. I enquired if a ‘birthday plate’ could be arranged. I was assured that this could happen. When the dessert arrived like other establishments I’ve taken him to, you will see a decorated plate with ‘Happy Birthday’ wording, a candle or the birthday song being sung. This was not the case at the Guinea Grill. He received the dessert he had ordered then handed a postcard with the waiter stating “it’s your birthday right?” It felt like it was an after thought to the waiter, completely meaningless. Very disappointing. The bill was presented with the service charge added on of nearly £35. I have no issues paying for this at other establishments but after all I had witnessed and experienced - I asked for the service charge to be removed. The waiter could not grasp the concept that how he had acted from when my partner arrived had contributed to the outcome at the end of the evening. The bill was paid followed by a prompt exit - with both of us vowing never to go back again. Disengaged staff will cost this place customers.

The Guinea is a tradition in London. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike. It’s one of my pleasures to go for a quick pint, or a proper steak dinner, they have a wide range of meat cuts and great selection of wine. Today, however, for the first time ever I went to try their Sunday roast. With confidence I can say that it was one of the best roasts I’ve ever had. Perhaps not a surprise given the high quality food they serve, but still, it was amazing to see how they brought their high quality ingredients and service to deliver a super roast experience. Unfortunately didn’t take any pictures, but we tried the Guinea Bloody Mary to start things off, followed by wine, and coffee and desert after the roast. The cheesecake is great by the way. For roast, we had at the table pork belly and the beef, so both great options. We were lucky that we were there a bit late, usually a busy place, so we needed up staying several hours enjoying the atmosphere. Good to go with friends, co workers, or a date.

Great place with great food and even better service. We were lucky enough to be served by Nacer and with one of us with deadly food allergies, he made sure that our experience was flawless.

Wonderful experience all around. I am somebody who enjoys a good wine and the sommelier working that day, Matthew I believe, did an excellent job of recommending me a brilliant wine to pair with my food.

Tried to eat at the St. John’s wood location today. The worst restaurant experience I can remember. Party of 2 - we ordered our mains, no appetizers. Drinks didn’t arrive after 20 minutes, so we reordered them and then they arrived. After an hour’s wait (no bread given mind you to keep you going), the hostess came out to apologize to us. I thought the food would be forthcoming after that. After another half an hour (90 minutes total wait now), still no food. So I asked the hostess what was going on. She again apologized but said the food would still be at least half an hour more. The restaurant was not that busy. I could have gone to the kitchen myself and cooked the food in 10 minutes. So we walked out without having eaten anything. I was absolutely shocked. No offer to come in for a free meal. No offer of complimentary desserts or wine. Nothing. I’ve never had someone tell me that my food will be half an hour more after already waiting 90 minutes. I’d have to expected at that point she’d be down in the kitchen cooking herself. Appalling. Rude. Stay away. Horrible excuse for a restaurant.

Although I didn't stay long because I was meeting up with some people the atmosphere and the surface I got was great I didn't stay off any of the room so I can't really rates that there's a downstairs on an upstairs and there's also an outside area the outside area isn't very big but it tends to be a lot for people who are either smoking and also I guess when we went it was raining they also have a live band I don't know if it's everyday but we came on the Friday and they were doing a live band on the Friday however I enjoyed the overall experience when I was there prices wise how to say it's about average like most pubs and bars are

What a shame! Great bar area, beautifully laid out, Ritazza cafe looks great but sells awful coffee, cold and without any kick. Croissants are stale and old from previous day. It is 6:45am pastries should be fresh and coffee should be good all day long. The servers clearly hates their job, replace them with people who have better customer services skills.

Food was good, service was mediocre, I believe they can improve way more. Also their breakfast price was a bit higher compared to other places nearby
