Athenaeum in City of London, Westminster

Beautiful hotel facing Green Park and adjacent to Mayfair. From the entrance to the bar/lounge and then the staff to the canapes...it smells luxurious and has the opulent feel to it. Very modern decor with clean fine space. I visited a showcase a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. It's a 5 minute walk from the green park station and sits next door to Grand Sheraton I think it's called. The rooms are either in a teal (those facing Green park) or autumn colour (those facing Mayfair) Large bathrooms and shower rooms, they have an upper floor lounge room for guests to just relax. Also enclosed are the gym, spa treatment rooms, sauna, jacuzzi and the likes. They have an outdoor seating area for meals and their restaurant serves some of the best afternoon teas in London. Pricing is relatively and can range from btw £200-1500 per night depending on which room is booked. I strongly recommend and would love to visit again and again. Oh not to forget the canapes and cocktails, they just kept flowing 😋 I have shared pictures of some of the spectacular spaces, meeting rooms and bedrooms ❤️ definitely high-end

We would like to thank the Athenaeum Hotel staff for the exceptional service provided on our 2-night visit for my Birthday. The rooms were elegantly designed with very a comfortable bed and enjoyable refreshments. The location of the Hotel is in the heart of Mayfair, with great views of Green Park and a stone throw away from Buckingham Palace. We spent an hour each morning enjoying the spa facilities, which were spotless, followed by a pleasant breakfast. I would like to thank Yogesh Ram for his outstanding service and for showing us an incredible view on the 10th floor overlooking the great city of London. We would highly recommend this hotel for any future trips and we hope to visit again very soon.

Amazing place for relaxation! After a full-body exfoliation and a neck and shoulder massage, we enjoyed the sauna, shower, and jacuzzi. A perfect experience to unwind and recharge! Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It is beautifully clean and offers a great sense of security. The location is perfect, just a short walk to important attractions. My room was spacious with a lovely view. A special thanks to Daniel for the warm welcome and excellent service، and also to Asma for her helpful assistance during our stay.

My wife and I travel internationally. The Athenaeum is our idea of the perfect hotel, with very attentive staff, well-appointed rooms, in a location that provides excellent transportation options.

My wife and I had a blissful spa day at The Spa at The Athenaeum! The tranquil atmosphere instantly relaxed us, and our skilled therapists, Kelly and Sabrina, provided amazing back, neck and shoulder massages and full body wraps that left us feeling rejuvenated. The facilities were top-notch, with a peaceful relaxation area perfect for unwinding. This place provided the perfect escape from the city, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly indulgent and rejuvenating experience.

We were gifted a pre-booked room for one night at The Athenaeum Hotel, London for our anniversary and were a bit disappointed with our stay. The hotel was very centrally located in one of the most upmarket districts in London (Piccadilly) which worked well for getting around London. It was a lovely experience to experience hospitality, attentive staff who catered well to our needs, and mostly good food. We would recommend asking for balcony view access on the top floor as you check in to ensure you can enjoy the views from the top floor in the evenings. It’s a wonderful way to unwind in the evenings. The room was a bit on the smaller side, and the view wasn’t great, but it was still enough for us to stay comfortable most of the time. The bed was also extremely soft, with thick pillows, and this was not ideal. My wife didn’t have a good night’s sleep and woke up with shooting neck pain. For the price, we expected much better rooms. However, we were pleased to receive a celebratory cake for our anniversary prepared as we entered the room. It was a nice personal touch. The buffet we had for breakfast was also cold and a bit disappointing. The omelette we ordered from the menu was much better as was the avocado and harissa toast. The toast was delicious as was the Earl Grey tea. We thoroughly enjoyed the loose leaf tea we were served. Overall though, it’s worth visiting for the experience of staying in one of the reputed five-star Piccadilly hotels.

Most disgusting customer experience I've ever encountered from a spa. In 2024 a company that only books by email? That makes it clear that they do not want a booking as they are not doing any critical thinking of trying to get the customer in the door. Emails are rude, when they have FINALLY called beyond abysmal. I'm afraid this hotel doesn't have a clue on customer experience or how to service a customer if you can't even get them through the door. It's 2024 there's technology that takes care of all of this.

Came here 8 years ago, now dated, and the therapists were very junior. Would not recommend the spa days, very short time and cramped and the actual treatments not ideal. Still had a nice day with my friend but there are better spas elsewhere in London for similar prices

I stay at the Athenaeum Hotel & Residence for my fiancés birthday celebration! The hotel and experience was a perfect and matched our expectations of high end boutique Hotel. We spent an afternoon at the spa and stayed for dinner. Decent spa, nothing more but very well executed massages and treatments and sufficient privacy. Pleasant dinner, quality products.

The location is absolutely fantastic, the rooms are very peaceful, and the staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful in every way The beds are extremely comfortable, the food is delicious, and the check-in and check-out procedures are unbelievably fast In terms of location, most major landmarks are within a 15-minute walk on average, and the nearest subway station is about 5 minutes away The area is vibrant and filled with restaurants and cafes I truly loved London because of you, guys See you soon

Exceptional hotel. First class customer service throughout my whole experience. Room was big, comfortable, and extremely quiet for the fact it was central London. Food was delicious and check out was wonderfully late at 12pm. Absolutely loved the experience and would highly recommend it.

Had the most amazing experience here for my mum's birthday today because the service was incredible. The staff are so friendly and professional. My mum and I visited the spa and had two really relaxing treatments performed by very talented therapists who took really good care of us. Then had afternoon tea at the restaurant which was on another level of 5* service. Shout out to Conrad and our waitress who made our visit extra memorable! 1000% recommended!

Went for a late lunch on a Saturday. Food was very good. Cauliflower soup is amazing! Service was great and ambience was lovely.

Spa small, too many people in changing room, sauna small and wasn’t hot (only found out afterwards that it operates from the outside but no one explained), good steam room. Changing room dirty. Husband got me the £130 single Package, I got two thirty minute treatments-facial good and massage only so so. I felt therapist was rushing, she didn’t ask about injuries or where I would like the focus of the massage to be or where to avoid. Not worth the money spent which was a shame as I was looking forward to it. Not great value for money at all.

Went for Afternoon Tea and had a lovely time. Such nice setting and I wish I could afford to stay there! 😫 would definitely go back.

Had a wonderful time at Athenaeum hotel. We were assisted from the start to end with such great hospitality. The room was amazing and clean with surprises; heart balloons, slice of cake, anniversary greeting card, and mini teddy bear that I get to keep. Food was good and I really enjoyed the desserts and presentation. We haven’t tried the spa but we overall enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.

Had a lovely time at the spa, which is small but comfortable. We were a group of three and could use each facility together without issue. Massage from Elona was really good, and the treatment rooms were lovely. Improvements can be made you the tidiness of the spa itself (a lot of leftover towels from guests who’d already left) and cleanliness of the changing rooms (hair on floor/in shower, dirt on floor).

I highly recommend The Athenaeum. It was the perfect place for my family to stay in London. Centrally located, so really easy to get anywhere. The residences feel like you have your own apartment with your own entrance, full one bedroom with bunk beds for the kids, a living room, dining area, and small kitchen (our unit had a small washer/dryer). It was so nice to be able to come back from our days of exploring to relax in all that space! Daniel out front was super welcoming and helped us many a time find our way to food and transport. There’s an amazing Tapas place right around the corner (La Pirata). Tons of great cafes and restaurants nearby in the Mayfair area. Lots to walk to and get lost in. Hyde Park is right there. Had an amazing brunch at Queens of Mayfair. Fantastic experience all around.

Upon checkout, they included in a bill a customary "tip" for the staff. They print it out automatically and ask you whether you wish to pay it. We refused so they re-printed the standard bill. It's already an annoying practice that belongs to some cheap restaurants or Starbucks. First time we ever saw such a dodgy practice in a hotel, and extremely surprising to see it for a hotel of this standard.

Fabulous Spa trip, the service was great and the extra touches with glass of bubbles and cake was wonderful.

Afternoon Tea. Very good room with glass/chrome style. Lovely service - nothing was any trouble. Good afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones, cakes. Large range of teas, & coffees. We had some fizz as an extra. Towards the end of afternoon, there was an offer of extra scones & sandwiches at no charge. Of course, it's expensive - but recommended for a special treat.

Most amazing experience. Had afternoon cream tea, warm scones delicious 😋 beautiful restaurant, efficient and friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us, thankyou. Then went into sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room. From there the most amazing back neck and shoulder massage, then facial by Kelly. Hubby had back neck and shoulder massage and leg massage which could have been refused, however was allowed as he was having problems, thankyou , Dzeirana much appreciated, he feels much better. The most relaxing afternoon and to put the icing on the cake, excuse the pun but we went into the bar for a drink. Was asked why we were down and said it is both our 70th birthdays within the next month. While sat there the host and bar man turned up with a cake each for us. What an amazing suprise, thankyou you finished our day in the best way possible. Those 7000 steps were totally worth it and we will return when here again.

I was invited to dinner here and the food was amazing. The service was really good and I would happily come back again. Excellent location with a tune station just across the road.

Avoid this place. My wife and daughter got food poisoning eating in the restaurant. The service here is horrible. The food quality standards are abhorrent. The room also had an ultrasonic pulse when we initially came which came on every 5 seconds.

We haven't even eaten here yet but just want to give 5 stars for the incredible customer service we received from Sharon, the director of operations. Despite a mix-up regarding our booking. Sharon swiftly and efficiently resolved the matter for which we are incredibly grateful.

Excellent location, friendly staff, decent small spa. Excellent pillows. Received upgraded room with Green Park view. The steam room was excellent, the sauna was a bit sad and needs a refitting. All in all good value for central London.

An amazing location overlooking Green Park easy to get to from Victoria. We took advantage of the business services side of the hotel and hosted a strategy day. The service and staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended for business and leisure.

Magnificent place that may strike you as posh, but everyone is so welcoming. We love to drop in for a cocktail if we're in London, and you're always greeted warmly by all the members of staff. And they make a mean Old Fashioned.

Cannot eat this location where the hospitality of this finest establishment. Staying at this hotel is like being the family. The food is great and the bartenders are one of a kind.

This review is only about spa and not the hotel itself. For a 5 star hotel, it’s a very modest spa which can be marked at 4 stars at best - and that’s mainly to the nice personnel who’s helpful staring from the reception. Facilities are TINY! Even if it’s only the 2 of you, you will simply not fit in the sauna (you can only sit there and can’t lay down as there is not enough space for that, and we are both slim). Steam room is a bit better but still too small, again not comfortable for 2 people, only for seating. At the same time, even though they try to allow a couple at a time, there can be more than one (we had this experience), so you kinda have to compete for the space. Jacuzzi is not too big too. Also for a 5 star hotel, no basic things in the changing/shower area. No single use brushed if you forgot one (can be a big trouble for people with long hair), no earbuds etc. Hair driers are available but the cord is so short you have to stay in a very uncomfortable position to use it! And I’m sorry, but it was dirty.. I simply didn’t want to be there because of all the hair and dirt which wasn’t cleaned (pics attached). Not acceptable for a 5 star hotel in my opinion. The treatments are okay. If you’ve been to some really good places and have something to compare with, you can spot the difference.

We'd booked a spa experience - we weren't staying at the hotel. The spa was small but beautifully designed and we enjoyed the steam room, jacuzzi and sauna. The treatments were luxurious and relaxing and we left on a cloud of bliss!

We ate in the restaurant and very nice it was too. Good choice on the menu with options for veggies, prices are on the high side though. Service is first class.

I can’t comment on the rooms as I have never stayed in them however we come here often just to sit in the outside seating area and have some drinks. The atmosphere is very nice and pricing is reasonable. The staff are really friendly too.

Had a good short stay at the Athenaeum. It’s in a fantastic location with 3 bus stops and green park underground close by. From there you can enjoy the delights of Mayfair and Piccadilly.

Heaven in a hotel! One of the comfiest beds I’ve stayed in thanks to the Hypnos eco-friendly mattresses. Lovely big room with a bath and shower, featuring re-fillable Molton Brown. Staff were great and super friendly. Definitely check out The View if you stay for panoramic views of London.

Booked a couples spa treatment. When we arrived, we were shown around by the staff who were very friendly. The facilities are super small and we were lucky that there were only two other people there, otherwise we wouldn't have had any space to sit down and relax. We were told that the jacuzzi was out of order that day, which was disappointing. However, we were offered a gift voucher so that we could return on another day and use the facilities for an hour, which was honestly amazing. The massage itself wasn't that great though. The massage therapist asked me if I had any areas she especially needed to focus on, however, when she did the actual massage she did not focus on that area at all. On top of that, she slipped with her hands and actually ended up hurting my back pretty badly. I was in pain for days after the massage. Overall, not a mind blowing spa day experience but definitely not bad either.

The Athenaeum Hotel is one of the best spa/Hotel I have experience in London. We booked the 'Midweek Nourish Spa Experience with Treatments and Sparkling Lunch for Two' via virgin experience days, and for the money your spending, its definitely worth it. The service was very good. I want to say massive thank you to Kelly and Safia who made my mum and I feel special during are treatments. They gave good detail about all the treatments we can choose from, and they were informative, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend the body wrap treatment if you hadn't had it before. You won't be disappointed. Kelly and Safia were very friendly and had a positive spirit about them. Thank you, Ladies. ❤❤. The food at 116 restaurant was absolutely delicious. The food was well cooked and lots of different flavours to choose from. I was definitely full. 😋The ambience at the 116 was sensational playing lots of music and it was on point. 👌🏾 I will be definitely coming back again and would 100% recommend this spa treatment for a birthday or girls day out.

Amazing Clean Friendly staff Wonderfull Location

This place is great and so is the service. The decor is fresh and not dated. I love this place and recommend it to all that go to London.

The spa is literally the size of your basement. But it does the job I suppose - just don't go with any expectations. The massage and services were so good though so skip the spa and go straight to that is my advise.

Such an elegant hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating (Doorman was lovely). The rooms were comfortable and beautifully designed, gym was a bit small for my liking, location was great and the overall atmosphere was welcoming.

Nous avons passé un super séjour au sein de l’Hôtel The Athenaeum situé en face du Green Park dans le très beau quartier de Mayfair. Il se situe proche de toutes les commodités et à quelques minutes du fameux Palais de Buckingham. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons ressenti un vrai professionnalisme et service. Cela a commencé dès lors que nous étions à la porte d’entrée avec le doorman qui était très sympathique à chaque fois que nous le croisions et toujours avec le sourire. 

À la réception, il en va de même, un personnel qui est là pour prendre soin de vous afin de vous faire passer un séjour inoubliable. Nous avons eu une très belle chambre avec une superbe décoration et une salle de bain splendide entièrement en marbre. 
La literie très qualitative, nous a permis de nous reposer comme il se doit. 
Par la fenêtre, vous pourrez admirer le Green Park, très agréable le matin d’avoir cette vue au réveil. Au petit-déjeuner qui se passe dans la salle de The Restaurant, nous avons commandé un traditionnel full English breakfast qui était succulent. Nous nous réjouissions chaque matin de nous rendre au petit déjeuner, un vrai délice matinal. Le choix y est vraiment varié et où la qualité est un mot d'ordre ! Également, nous avons mangé plusieurs soirs au restaurant de l’Hôtel. Là encore une fois, nous ressentions une vraie qualité de service. Le personnel est souriant et très aimable. Nous avons discuté avec plus d’une personne et nous avons passé un moment encore plus agréable grâce à eux. 
Nous avons goûté plusieurs plats lors des différents jours, et cela a été à chaque fois un régal pour les papilles. Il y a une vraie recherche au niveau de l’élaboration des plats et une vraie envie de faire passer au client un moment inoubliable. L’espace wellness est vraiment bien pensé et configuré puisque cela se passe sous réservation. Un parfait moyen afin de se détendre en toute intimité. 

La salle de sport elle, est également bien équipée avec du matériel de haute qualité. Il est possible d’avoir accès au Lounge The View au dernier étage. La Vue est sublime, et le fait de pouvoir travailler dans cet espace ou juste profiter du moment présent est vraiment très appréciable. L’hôtel propose des offres avec le Bicester village qui est absolument à faire lors de votre séjour à Londres encore plus si vous séjourner à l'Hôtel the Athenaeum. Ils proposent un service vraiment unique.
Nous avons profité de l’offre vip qui est un package qui inclus énormement de choses pour votre visite au village. C’était vraiment exceptionnel du début à la fin, on ressent un vrai service sur mesure tout comme à l’Hôtel. Nous pouvons tellement dire de choses positives sur cet Hôtel. Nous nous impatientons réellement de pouvoir à nouveau nous rendre à Londres et de surtout séjourner au sein de cet établissement fabuleux !!!

We just wondered and decides to step in Hotel Athenaeum. Very nice doorman, wonderfull lobby and excellent bar at the "basement". Bar is sophisticated, very warm athmosphere, excellent music and you can talk to each other. Very nice bartenders also! Greetings to Giovanni!

Ubicado junto a algunos de los grandes hoteles y restaurantes, seleccionamos este restaurante como parte de un día de carta roja. Desde el momento en que fuimos recibidos por el amable portero, tuvimos un excelente servicio al cliente. Nuestro bono nos dio una selección del menú de precio fijo. La elección se adaptó fácilmente para nuestras necesidades. El primer cebo blanco era suntuoso y fácilmente podría haber sido compartido. Mi marido tenía la chuleta de tocino como su plato principal y no me decepcionó. Dos comensales estaban celebrando un cumpleaños y se les dio un pastel de cumpleaños individual completo con vela.

A. muy cálida bienvenida genial en el Athenaeum, saludo con el Director General, en su sus huéspedes bebidas en recepción, un gran comienzo de unas Navidades en familia. Teniendo en cuenta que llegamos y recibieron por Simone y su personal de recepción, nuestra habitación era una sorpresa fabulosa, siendo lo suficientemente grande para tener toda la familia, así que podría haber una copa de champán y como persona dedicada nuestros regalos. Las habitaciones están bien decoradas y con estilo, con todo lo que puedas necesitar durante tu estancia, la cama muy cómoda. El bar es muy acogedor y una gran variedad de cócteles, con el personal del bar que saben cómo servir bebidas bien, si te gusta el whisky una gran variedad. El desayuno está bien servido con una gran variedad de comida disponible, muy buen café.

Todo que usted esperaría de un hotel de 5 estrellas. El desayuno era caro, especialmente porque la sección caliente no es buffet. El segundo día pedimos tostadas y té en la habitación que era más que adecuado y una décima parte del precio. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas con baño especialmente buena. Espejo de aumento estándar, que no siempre es el caso para hoteles en Londres. Idealmente situado.

Hemos visitado este hotel en particular para el té de la tarde para el cumpleaños trata desde hace ya varios años y entendió que había sido reformado. Todavía estábamos un poco sorprendidos por el entorno para el té de la tarde estar en el restaurante en lugar de el encantador ambiente de la habitación previa que ahora parece una zona de bar.

La comida era impresionante por la sencillez y la frescura de los productos. Fuimos con nuestro amigo el Chef cuyo comentario puede ser un poco desagradable a veces. No menos importante, porque el chef es un profesional y tiene mucho que decir sobre la presentación, sabor y calidad. Sin embargo, el Chef tenía un montón de elogios y nos hizo orgullosos que habíamos elegido el Ateneo. El servicio fue realmente agradable y atento, y nuestro agradecimiento especial a Catalin por su atención al detalle.

Durante décadas mi familia, mis colegas y amigos han encontrado el Athenaeum Hotel el mejor hotel de Londres, que dada la variedad de hoteles que abundan en esta ciudad habitable dice mucho. Las habitaciones son cómodas y están bien amuebladas (aunque algunos pueden ver los baños un poco ajustado). Personalmente prefiero los apartamentos o pisos en la ciudad de piedras rojizas o Casas contiguas. Constan de dormitorio, sala de estar espaciosa, práctica cocina y cuarto de baño. Un hogar lejos de casa. El personal es maravilloso, Jim y John acogen a los huéspedes en la puerta. Alan y Darren ofrecen servicio de conserjería entendido de una manera encantadora. Entonces dónde está el 2.56. El restaurante Galvin recientemente un añadido (que era una estrella michelin ha ganado en otro sitio). Mientras que la comida y el servicio son geniales, que saturan la zona del vestíbulo y precipita un cambio que y otros encontrar desconcertante. Ya no hay un área de recepción. En su lugar te encuentras en el interior por personal que doble como recepcionistas que firma y luego cargar con las maletas a la habitación. No hay espacio para un servicio de recepción. Sólo folk pululando, listo para servir. "innovación" que necesita nuevo examen. Aún así, es un fantástico hotel.

Esto fue bastante único! Por error entramos en el Reform Club, Phileas Phogg cerca donde empieza su viaje de vuelta al mundo en 80 días, y el ambiente es muy similar! Es como una aventura (en la biblioteca hay un pedazo de mineral de hierro por la Emancipación tirado cuando estaban repugnante:-), y esta ocasión era un cumpleaños muy feliz, relajado partido. Vino y Comida absolutamente de primera clase!

Never have I been a fan of the food in London, so not much to really say. The service was great, and the breakfast was decent. The pastries were pretty good too.

The setting for their afternoon tea service is unlike the usual tall ceiling-ed lobby lounge. This one's definitely more cosy, with great service to boot. My favourite component of the afternoon tea set were freshly made crumpets with lemon curd. They have scones, which are delicious, but it was quite impossible to skip the crumpets! The savouries were very satisfying as well. Unlike the usual cake stands, pastries are served from a roving cake trolley; very indulgent indeed. Personally, they looked better than they tasted but still above average nonetheless!

A unique take on Afternoon Tea, a Gentleman's version including whiskey and beef wellington. I have been many time for drinks and the bar is certainly worth a visit with its extensive array of Whiskeys and cocktails

Briliant Experience, very friendly and customer centric staff. Nothing was a problem. the food was absolutely delicious. Well worth the money. great intimate setting. we have been back three more times since our first visit - ourselves and again with 2 other sets of friends who really enjoyed it. The cocooned booths were lovely and intimate for the two of us and then with friends they are good at spacing the tables out depending on their bookings so you don't feel so close to the others.

I can honestly say I have forgotten the amount of times I have been for Afternoon Tea at the Athenaeum Hotel. The experience is simply wonderful!! The staff are fully knowledge on the different teas that are on offer, very friendly and any last minute dietary requests are fulfilled with no fuss. The vertical garden (by the first alcove on the left as you enter) is a beautiful sight and if you can get this table it makes the experience even more relaxing. However I should point out that the extra large sofa at the back of the restaurant is also very comfy to lounge in. The sandwiches are very tasty and more importantly the scones come out warm just as they should be! Now if this wasn't enough indulgence the desserts will push you over the edge. This slice of sweet heaven is wheeled in front of you and trust me you want everything and you won't be disappointed. I think it is one of the best Afternoon Teas in London. The hotel also offers spa & Afternoon tea packages (which I have tried twice) for that extra bit of pampering. Oh and don't forget to treat yourself to a glass of champagne with your tea!

Came here and had a set menu, my mushroom tartlet was delicious, main my (chicken) was alright but not brilliant, and my dessert (soufflé) was was tasty. The haddock is very tasty as well. Service was excellent. Would come back here again.

Faultless stay as usual, friendly, comfortable ,very high standard in everything. Food in the restaurant is very good and really worth a visit, Chef Marshall keeps the menu simple but simply delicious. The only complaint I have and is a big one is that we have to leave and go back to reality.

We went on Sunday 20th December for their festive lunch offer (£27.50 for three courses including a glass of prosecco with cassis, and coffee to finish). The restaurant itself is a well appointed room, with a very pleasant ambience. The staff were all very attentive and helpful, and the food was excellent. This place has two rosettes and so our expectation was high, and it did not disappoint. The kitchen was very accommodating, in that we have a dietary restriction that meant that we requested a modification to one of the dishes, and this was done with a smile and apparently with no trouble at all.The price of the meal is reasonable, but of course the final bill is higher if you are going to add a glass of wine (they do have good wines by the glass). My recommendation is that if you are happy with prosecco as your accompanying wine, ask that they bring it to you with the main course and that they don't add the cassis. Our 'cocktail' was heavily dosed with cassis which made it taste like sparkling Ribena. Without the cassis I am sure that it will be a satisfactory accompaniment to a fish dish as the main course.We will be returning for another meal there next year. I am advised that they have similar offers throughout the year, and I can thoroughly recommend this place for a relatively inexpensive treat (relatively in the sense that this is a fine restaurant) in the heart of London's West End.

We booked the 3 course set menu at £27.50, which included a nice champagne cocktail and tea/coffee. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table promptly. We chose a bottle of Merlot which was quite pricey but decent. For starters we both had the mushroom flan which was flavoursome with crisp pastry but I couldn't really taste the truffle oil.The mains were duck leg confit and cod, both were tasty. For dessert we opted for the bread and butter pudding which had a smooth texture but lacked any fruit, and the chritmas pudding which had a nice fruity/boozy flavour. We found the service pleasant and friendly throughout and we were left to take our time and chat. Overall we enjoyed our evening and thought it was decent value.
