Very good birthday experience at London Steakhouse. This was purchased as an experience by Virgin Experiences. The staff throughout were very attentive and professional and provided great service. The food was very tasty and filling. The only downside was having to pay per person to reserve the table and that price doesn't count towards the bill!!!! and there were lots on the menu that can only count as an extra which aren't part of the experience which you aren't notified about until it is booked and reserved. We enjoyed our meal and will return to enjoy the full menu.

I purchased a voucher via buy a gift in November 2023 and only just got round to using it. As we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. FOOD My wife ordered the soup and in my opinion is was under seasoned but she seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the ham hock which was OK but seemed to be serviced on a bed of supermarket coleslaw with paprika sprinkled on. (definitely not freshly made) Next was the steak which was tasty, however the sides we chose which were extra were small servings and nothing special.we chose the creamed potato and onion rings (both also served luke warm) Pudding my wife chose the chocolate mousse which had a supplement of £3 which she really enjoyed and I ordered the sticky toffee pudding. Im sure this was a like a cadbury microwave pudding with extra toffee sauce and a small scoop of ice cream on top BILL A £1 per person cover charge was added (whats that all about?) 4 small bits of bread although nice was £4.50 Sides - very small and £7.50 each supplement for the mousse £3 Service charge £9.94. Im happy that I got a deal on the voucher which should have been £55 which I paid £41.80. Total £76.24 In my view this restaurant is all about vouchers and inflating prices to show a saving. Had a nice time but will not go back. Lucky for me the Nice ambience , but wouldnt visit again.

I had a £50 voucher as a birthday present for the 5 course meal . The food is good but the first 2 courses are bite size . I opted for the rump steak which has an £18.50 supplement on top but well worth it as it was excellent, my gripe would be that as a main course it comes as a piece of steak and no more ..... nothing on the side so as my wife had the rump and we got 2 tiny portions of chips on the side for £15 !!!! I would advise people to watch out for the extras , they're looking to empty your wallet before you leave

Underwhelming food experience but good service. Welcomed and received effecient and friendly service from all the staff with our main waiter, Islam, looking after us well. However both our starters and main course were somewhat tasteless. Prawns were watery and the mackerel pate was dominated by the watercress not the fish. We both had rump steaks, correctly medium rare, that were unseasoned and not hitting the taste buds despite a gentle peppercorn gravy. Best part of meal was treacle tart. As the London Steakhouse it failed our expectations.

wow what a venue, had a voucher but upgraded on the steak. was a bit shocked the steak comes with just a sauce no potatoes or even a mushrooom and tomato so if using your voucher soon cost more. the cocktails were amazing Staff all very good only grips Water was £6.00 a bottle sides extra, no one going to just have a bit of steak, but chicken come with potato and veg! bit bizarre being a steak restaurant Service charge why! this is not america! we should tip if we want to some people using just a voucher this was a. BIG add on charging a cover charge on top of service charge. without these would of been a 5/5 would I go back, not sure as. no different to cheaper steak chains but the onion rings were fabulous

The service was great. Imran and Leanne were welcoming, very attentive and friendly. I mentioned that I was very hot, tired and felt dehydrated because of the weather outside, so Leanne kept an eye on my water glass and kept it topped up without me having to keep asking. Imran answered any questions we had with a winning smile. Thank you both. All the food looked appealing when served and was very tasty. The beef was so tender. The only point was that we thought that the portion of goat's cheese served with the beetroot was far, far too small. The cheese portions served with the fruit bread were ideal though. The music was slightly too loud in the dining area and exceptionally loud in the toilets, although it was a great choice of songs. We would definitely recommend The London Steakhouse and will be returning very soon.

We were a little worried about this after reading some negative reviews in Google about the redletter Shard and dining experience but honestly, I cannot fault them. We were seated on a nice table, the restaurant had a mice atmosphere, quote busy, our waitress Kinjal was very attentive, the food was great (we paid some supplements for a steak upgrade etc.). Then Jose came out with x2 free glasses of champagne as we were celebrating having just got married! We were very satisfied with the whole thing and would recommend :)

We were glad gifted the view from the Shard & 3 course Marco Pierre White (London City) experience. Having read the reviews, I was nervous but it was superb! It's about a 25 min walk from the Shard across the bridge and into the City next to Spitalfields. We received excellent service from Kinjal and Jose, the atmosphere was great (nice and busy but never waiting for food or service), the food was brilliant (we paid extra for a sharer steak) and they even gifted us some champagne and made 'congratulations' desserts for us as we were celebrating having just got married. I would definitely recommend

Like many, we were using a Virgin voucher we had been gifted for the five-course meal. On arrival we were shown to a reasonably secluded table and given our menus. Having chosen our cocktails (on the small side but fine), our two "compulsory" starters arrived together but, given they were pretty small, bringing them separately would have been a bit pointless. We then moved on to Kipper pate (very solid, green and uncertain taste) and ham hock which was satisfactory. My wife had the beef bourguignon which she enjoyed without being overwhelmed with flavour while I paid extra for a medium fillet steak, which was pretty good, as you would expect. We also had two sides (cabbage and fries) at £7.50 each. We completed our meal with a treacle tart and lemon posset followed by coffee. Together with a carafe of wine (£28), service etc. our extra bill came to around £89. Service was generally prompt and friendly and the place was busy and buzzy (although I am not an Ed Sheeran fan). The food was not really more than average and given the total price paid, not great value. We are unlikely to go again but I have no reason to put you off.

Over priced Wetherspoons! No joke. A virgin experience gone wrong, we paid an extra £167 for the meal including some wine & I honestly feel like we ate at Wetherspoons. Starting with the good, starters were nice & The steak was cooked well & the wine I had was delicious but everything else was poor. all our sides were cold chips n all - Keep in mind you have to pay for sides (£7 for chips, yeah right. 🤦🏼‍♂️) cold peppercorn sauce & when I asked for another pot as it was cooked the waiter looked down on me & said its meant to be cold. It was that cold it made the steak cold. Was meant to be a nice evening out where we would spoil ourselves but was just left hungry & robbed. We sat near the bar & was pestered by fruit flies so we knew nothing was fresh behind the bar. One did land in the steak juice & when pointing the issue out all we got was a quick sorry & the plate taken. Away when we weren’t finished. I’m a big guy that like to eat & I even left the cold food as i lost my appetite. Cocktails on arrival didn’t even taste alcoholic, how can you get vodka & cranberry juice so wrong. I will never return & would highly suggest you don’t waste your money here.

Disastrous experience Let's start from the very beginning, I wish I could say ‘Do Re Mi’ and skip off as cheerful as Maria, those that have watched Sound of Music will know. Unfortunately, this was not the case.  Our reservation was for 9:45pm on 2 August 2024, we arrived at 9:25pm  to be directed to the bar to wait. We had barely settled when a lady escorted us to our table. She led us through the dining area, up some stairs, and then abruptly stopped near two tables, one used and the other ready. She then said our table wasn’t ready and took us back downstairs, making us feel like we were walking the plank. Instead of returning to the bar, she left us at a table right in front of the waiters' service station and entrance door. This spot was uncomfortable, with draft from the door and constant movement of shoulder as people passed by in order not for them to bump into us coupled with the waiters carrying on with their business at one point emptying the used napkins in front of us. Cutlery being sorted. I could go on. Noise was insane. The dining area was cramped, with tables so close together it felt like a budget airline, minus the bonus of low prices. The noise was overwhelming, and at one point, a waiter’s jacket brushed my shoulder as he conversed with nearby diners. Another waiter asked if we were enjoying ourselves, to which I responded honestly about our dissatisfaction. Call it telepathy but soon after, the waiter behind me left after being there over 15 minutes but seemed like hours only to return later with two glasses of 'champagne' and an apology. By then, we were nearing dessert, having waited over 30 minutes between courses. The food was mediocre, with only the treacle pie and sticky toffee pudding the saving grace. By 11:30pm, we received the bill, which included a table cover and service charge. Table cover??? Go figure!   I paid the table cover but refused the service charge. Overall, this was a deeply disappointing experience. I won’t be returning and can only advise others to think twice before booking. Remember, ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.   As Meatloaf sang, "When the night is over, like a bat out of hell I'll be gone, gone, gone."

So we go this WonderDays voucher. From its name: "View from The Shard & Three Course Dining with Cocktail at Marco Pierre White's London Steakhouse Company" it made my friend think they bought us an amazing experience in a steakhouse restaurant up at the shard, which isn't the case. The prices there also show half price discount. We will get back to this. I have realised this is two separate bookings when I have applied the voucher. And the support contact told me they are in two different places, so I need to rebook my times to have time to go from the shard to the restaurant... Then we got to this steakhouse. The atmosphere is OK, seems a bit cheap/used, but let's see. We have quickly realised half of the food on the menu has additional costs, leaving most of the "good stuff" with an extra charge. We had smoked salmon as a starter, which was literally bought from Tesco, with a bread and cream also likely from the same grocery... Then we had the steak. It was great I must say. The desert was also OK. So now what's the issue? This restaurant is heavily overpriced. You would never get in here if it wouldn't be for the voucher. Your friend pays one half, you pay the other. We have added up everything, and with the voucher you basically pay the same amount as if you would just go directly to the restaurant. But charging £200+ for this quality of food for 2 is outrageous. They have also charged 1 pound extra for the fries as stated on the menu online, and 2 pounds for "cover charge" (they couldn't tell what it is for), and an extra 12% service charge which we refused pay. Do not recommend.

We were gifted an experience voucher for our 1st wedding anniversary, and were disappointed with the experience to be honest. We were welcomed in and sat by the host, menu was explained (inclusions & exclusions) The waiter seemed to realise quite quickly we weren’t planning to spend above the pre-paid menu, we felt the attitude towards us changed and less attention to service paid. We ordered our welcome drinks fairly quickly however we recieved our starters before having to ask for our drinks again as he hadn’t put them through to the bar. Yet the table beside us who were on the same menu but were ordering extras (spending more money) had already had their drinks. The only addition we did order was some bread to start. With the 12.5% service charge (based on the bill BEFORE the £55 discount) and the cover charge of £1 per head the £20 bill was the most expensive £4.50 bread I’ve ever had. The FAQ on the website state the per person £1 charge is for napkins and table clothes which I think should be covered with in the charges like most restaurants rather than charging the guests for this without question. You're a restaurant for a reason. The table cover is a basic thing you should provide. If you can't, then don't provide it. Leave the table as is. The food tasted great and dishes were well prepared. We did have to ask twice for our welcome drinks, more water and for the dessert menus, the servers didn’t seem to pass our table often for us to ask for these so did feel the wait times were longer than expected. We were made to feel that as we went spending over the voucher we were an inconvenience and not worth the level of service other guests were receiving as they were spending. The music accompanying our meal was an Elton John playlist that abruptly ended in the middle of a song only to be replaced by Lady Gaga playlist then switched back after about 20 minutes. Overall, it was a lovely meal but the experience was very lacking which isn’t what you want on your first wedding anniversary. Not somewhere I’d be revisiting

We went for dinner and had the 5 course menu. The food was really delicious and the cocktails were too. The waiter we had was really attentive and very fast although when we first arrived the hostess asked us to sit at the bar (we were 15 minutes early) but she didn't seat us until 10 or 15 minutes after our booking and it seemed like she was seating other people who arrived after us. The restaurant was very pleasant but the music was a bit odd. It was fairly dated pop music (a lot of Take That) which was odd. The toilets were really clean but dated and a bit untidy. We were gifted a 2 person 5 course dinner but we spent about £115 on top on extra drinks, surcharges and tips so it was more on the expensive end. Overall it was very nice.

We had a virgin voucher for Christmas which we used at this restaurant. My husband wanted the steak but it didn’t come with any thing down paid extra for two sides, mushrooms and a salad which were £7.50 each and very small. We were seated right next to the staff cutlery area which resulted in my back being showered with glass when a waitress dropped and smashed a wine glass. My hideaways then brought out the wrong starter. Although the food was lovely. For the price and added service charges which were not reduced despite being showered in glass, I don’t think this is an experience we will repeat.

Excellent Steakhouse, rather elevated ambience, definitely fine dining. We had the five course set menu with a choice of third and main and pudding. Steaks cost extra but all within reason. A tiny tad confusing was the dessert listing. The rest of the menu used "or"s to indicate one has a choice of dishes yet the dessert choice didnt use the word "or". So i foolishly assumed it would be a trio of desserts which it ended up not being. No reason for a downgrade just maybe something to consider for the next set of printed menus. Excellently prepared and lovingly plated, everything was delicious and a sight to behold. Wine list was quite large and mostly rather pricey but the house wine was quite good and reasonably priced. Had a lovely lovely evening in there. Service staff is very attentive without being meddlesome. Only thing that could have been improved was the waiting staffs volume. Clearly in line with the calm and professional service was their low volume which made it difficult to understand them sometimes. Maybe dial it up just a little bit and everything would be perfect. Can highly recommend.

We were seated a lovely table . The restaurant was full given it was a Friday, but it seemed very spacious. We were presented two two glasses of champagne . Food was amazing - we selected options from a set menu and it had choices to complement all diets I chose the mackerel hummus which was just delicious and followed with a corn fed chicken main . Both were amazing. Flavour and quality all hit the mark. Service was first class. Pleasant warm professional and accommodating. Our host was Amanda who did an excellent job of ensuring we had the best experience. Basic food served in a dead atmosphere. The vouchers are a rip off, we had a £65 3 course meal which is only for the mains on their own, no sides. Even the bread is charged extra for the soup and pâte. We added sides to our mains and one of the mains was a fillet steak so paid for the supplement. To drink we had a carafe of wine, glass of Prosecco and a bottle of still water on top of the cocktails that were included. The wine was £40 for 500ml and it was horrible (yes, I do drink wine and I know a thing or two). Sticky toffee pudding was dry and old. The final bill was just shy of £120, excluding the £65 voucher. On top of the bill, there was a £10/person booking fee which is a disgrace even though it was Friday afternoon. In total, the 3 course meal came up to over £200 for 2 persons which is disgusting. We went to more prestigious steakhouses and paid less for way way way better food. Save your money and don’t go to this scam! Service was ok.

We came here with a buyagift voucher, which was very good value for money. 2 people, both got a cocktail, starter, main and dessert. The drinks were good, starter was a lovely flavoursome sweet potato type cream (soup of the day), crispy fries and good peppercorn sauce (came with steak). The only thing letting the food down, was how the steak was cooked. Considering me and my partner have been ordering medium rare in many places, the steak we received was half alive on our plate. He didn’t mind so much, but I didn’t feel comfortable with the amount of blood leaking into the sauce. The staff were very understanding and sent the food back to be cooked a bit more. I didn’t want to make a big fuss so continued to eat the not much changed steak. The sides and sauce made it edible. Despite this, dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was amazing. Our service was also great, the waiter explained what was included on the menu very well and made the whole experience nice and clear. He was super nice and quick to take our order and deliver our food. Even the dessert hade a lovely written “Happy Anniversary” on the plate for a special touch. Be aware that you’re having dinner while listening to a very Gen Z TikTok obsessed playlist full of LoveGame and Just Dance by LadyGaGa in between The Weeknd. Service charge will be on the bill and is not part of the original voucher (which we of course don’t mind as the service was not a problem at all).

Very disappointing … I bought a voucher for my son and daughter in law for Christmas. They booked to go to Marci Pierre Whites restaurant We were babysitting for them as they live near Cambridge. Unfortunately yesterday we came down with covid so unable to have the children and they couldn’t find anybody else at short notice. So rang the restaurant to explain and they were told it was too late to cancel as they have a 48 hour policy. Even though it was out of our control and we rang straight away and we wanted to postpone not cancel they said we would lose the voucher. When they booked they had to pay an extra £20 for Friday night which it doesn’t state when you buy the experience, so not only have we lost the cost of the gift there is also a £20 payment as well. After a contact from Virgin spoke to them they said for another £30 they could transfer, but why should we have to pay more, they’ve already had £80. I think they have been very unfair and I will steer clear of using virgin experience again and I will never frequent this chain of restaurants again. This was supposed to be a nice thing instead it had left a very sour taste

First up, we were probably the worst kind of customers, those dining on a 5 course dinner voucher gifted to us, and determined not to spend anything on top. We were 'welcomed' in by a less than enthusiastic maitre d and were given the wrong menus (the 3 course set menu). Our first waiter corrected this and gave us the right menu. One of us had dietary requirements and these were explained with the promise that they could be catered for. There was very little explanation of the menu. We later witnessed a different waiter giving a very clear explanation to other customers. The menu included aperitifs, a selection of 4 cocktails. I ordered the cranberry crush and my wife ordered the Caribbean style drink. Neither of us were able to find the alcohol in them, if there was any. The gluten free alternative to the salmon blini was a dry GF cracker with a tiny bit of salmon on top and a few capers. Of the 5 courses the first two were delivered simultaneously, I think they wanted to get rid of us fast! My wife was offered soup to replace the course she couldn't have as there was no GF alternative, it didn't come with any GF bread. Given that the restaurant is a steakhouse, there wasn't a steak included in the set menu, unless you're prepared to pay a supplement of at least £12.50. The options were boeuf bourguignon with mash or a fish cake with a poached egg and spinach. My wife was offered fries to replace the mash without any quibbles. The bourguignon was tasty. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was fine, my wife was offered sorbet as the only option that would accommodate her dietary requirements. She declined she was offered coffee instead. Once finished we were given the bill which included a 12.5% service charge on a £0 expenditure at £7.13 and a £1 per head 'cover charge'. Total bill £9.13. That was the first time I'd seen a cover charge on a restaurant bill. I didn't feel it was justified as, having done some research, it's typically there to cover bread and water on the table, neither of which we were given, or live music, which wasn't there either. We ate at 4pm, and there were very few people there. Music was Adele on loop (a short loop). I wasn't impressed with the service or the food, so told the waiter we wouldn't be paying anything, we were quickly ushered to the reception desk where the manager questioned us as to why. We explained that the initial welcome was desultory, if not grumpy, the food was nothing to write home about and emphasised the lack of effort with regard to dietary requirements. They told us that the dry cracker was all they had that was GF. Not good enough in 2024. I wasn't sure about my consumer rights with regard to the cover charge so paid the £2. All in all, this experience felt like an exercise in profit maximisation whilst providing the minimum that can be provided without causing total outrage amongst the clientele. We won't be returning. But we were grateful to our daughter for the thoughtfulness of buying the gift.

Only one steak was without surcharge out of 6 or 7. I had the steak without surcharge, it was lovely. Most sides also had surcharge to. We paid more on the day then what our voucher cost.

This was the most enjoyable experience for my wife and myself. The staff could not have done any more to make sure we had the most enjoyable experience. The food on the night we visited was exquisite as was the cocktail we had. Thank to everyone involved from front of house to the kitchen staff. You did yourselves proud.

We were given a voucher for Christmas and had high hopes. The food is nothing to write home about, the steak is about 40% fat and 60% actual meat. The worst part was asking our server, if the steak (14oz Ribeye Steak) was included in the voucher in which she said yes. I’m not sure if something got misunderstood within the question but she said yes. We were happy to pay for our sides and extra drinks but our bill came to just short of £90 after the voucher. We only had 1 bottle of water and a whiskey with 2 sides, and a steak which we were told included - ended up being £18.50 each.. It was disappointing the lack of communication in this - a heads up of ‘by the way just to confirm, this will not be included’ would have been better. The worst part was definitely the server (being female) was really dismissive towards me but held high standards for my partner. It’s obvious she’s used to the men paying and then giving her the tip. Either poor training or she did it off her own back, but everything was offered to my partner first while her back was turned to me. I would have happily paid the £15 tip (12.5% service charge) if she hadn’t have done this. Would’ve been much better service if she upheld us to both the same standard. Not the best steak for the cost - you can make better at home with a steak from Tesco, definitely try somewhere else. The sticky toffee pudding was great though!

I ate here on the 28th of July 2024. We were given a voucher as a Xmas present. On arrival, we were welcomed and shown to our table by the head waiter. After beinging seated, we were offered some water, which we accepted. Unfortunately, the bottle of water was warm, which was not a great start, plus this was an extra £5.50 cost to the bill, which I was unimpressed with as I was not told this when offered. We did decide to upgrade and have the Prawn cocktail an extra £2 but no bread came with it, which was a little let down, but that was an extra £5 for a sougherdough roll. Wwe also upgrade to the 10oz ribeye steak at an extra £15.50. Unfortunately, you only get one side in the price. Any extras were at an extra cost. So I had a mixed leaf salad, and my husband had fries. We did get a glass of champagne in the price and a dessert. The total of the bill was £121 with a 12.5% surcharge. With the voucher, which was £65 we were left with a bill off £56. The meal was nice but I wouldn't rush back. I must say a big thank you to our waiter Amadues he was great.

Was given a virgin experience meal, had already seen the menu so knew about additional costs, none were hidden as on the emails and menu. Food was great and even with the additional costs for some sides and the extra drinks we had on top of the experience permitted drinks it still came in at a reasonable price for a restaurant in central London just a stones throw away from Liverpool Street Station and St Paul’s. Would definitely go again.

Recently visited as part of Virgin Experience pre paid voucher, was supposed to get a cocktail and give course tasting menu as part of this. We got neither. Instead some money off the final bill, which did not cover the 4 people’s vouchers. This is very disappointing and should not be selling vouchers that do not meet expectations. The ribeye steak was fatty and tough, for that price you expect much better. Very disappointing and will not be returning

I visited this place through a Virgin Experiences deal, and it didn't quite live up to expectations. There were numerous hidden charges, including cover fees and booking fees for Fridays and Saturdays, along with additional costs for food. While the setting was acceptable, the atmosphere was off, with very upbeat music that didn't match the vibe. The steak I had was not impressive—I've had better at Wetherspoons. To top it off, the final bill exceeded the value of the voucher. I'm baffled as to how Marco Pierre White could endorse this establishment.

Visited with my lady as part of a Virgin experience day's gift of River cruise + 3 course meal. A common theme of the reviews for this restart is the paid extras and subsequent voucher disappointment, and we will get to that. Our coupon entitled us to a £65 set meal. Please don't expect a slap up meal with all the trimmings. I would advise you to consider this a contributory donation to the overall bill. This place is keenly priced but of very good quality. Caribbean Punch Cranberry Blush Mushroom Soup (with sourdough for dipping) Mackerel & Watercress Pâté 13oz Chateaubrian Steak (to share) Creamed Potatoes Haricot Verts Sticky Toffee Pudding Treacle Tart Classy interior with thick carpet, waiters of smart attire & 80s music overhead. The decor & ambience was one of (what I feel to be) a high-class restaurant. Our waiter was Amadeous, who was a gentleman and a treat throughout our meal I am normally happy with a burger, so you must forgive my slovenly awe. PLEASE DO NOT expect a full dinner of top fare for the £65 on offer. You'll get a basic set 3 course menu without extras. I merrily dipped into my pocket to top up to cover the bill. I recall it being approx £140 overall. Extra bread, bottle of water for the table, 2 sides with the main. The food was delicious. The steak was a particular highlight (my lady hadn't had one before), chef cooked it perfectly and seasoned it well.

Brought a voucher for a 3 course meal including a free cocktail each If you take anything away from this review know that the steak is not very good at all. It’s so incredibly bland. You will get a much better steak at a miller and carter or any half decent establishment serving steak on the menu . Rest of the food was ok, the fries were nice but other than that everything was basic and tasted of nothing. For the price you pay it’s really not worth it at all. Ended up paying more on extras than the actual cost of the voucher as the portions are so small. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Like many others we came to this restaurant as we were bought a virgin gift card, which is a lovely thoughtful gift. Unfortunately this restaurant then charges you a fee just to book a table, then a cover charge, plus the main comes with no sides, and then they add a 12.5% service charge on top of the total bill including the value of the voucher! A real cash grab. We were sat in the back presumably with all the other voucher customers and blasted with music that made me feel like I was in Benidorm. The restaurant itself looks dated. To be fair the food wasn’t terrible. The steak was good but the sauce congealed and watery. No sides are included so they’re an additional purchase, very small and quite expensive! All in all I would not recommend this restaurant. I feel like their participation in the virgin experience scheme is purely so they can add sneaky additional charges. The atmosphere was just weird and the food wasn’t anything special at all.

Would avoid. Atmosphere: Went here with a gifted virgin experience voucher. We were put at the back of the restaurant with all the other voucher holders. The restaurant then played really loud dance music/wedding music (think Rhythm is a Dancer and Sweet Caroline) which went fit the atmosphere of white clothed bistro. The upstairs lights kept flickering as well. Food: The beetroot and goats cheese starter was very heavy on the beetroot and non-existent on the goats cheese. The peppercorn sauce was so thin and lacked any peppercorn, it was like pouring brown water on your steak. Truly terrible, I’ve had better at Wetherspoons. The steak was nice however We had to order anything extra on top as the steak is literally just steak and runny brown water (the peppercorn sauce) The sides are £7.50 which come in a petridish and are about two mouthfuls. Dessert was fine. Service: Non attentive, had to try and flag them down for more water or a glass of wine. However was very polite and didn’t rush although the dinner was very rushed out Cost: They charged service charge on top of the £50 voucher to be careful on that They charge a cover charge which is basically unheard of in UK dining They also charge £20 to book the actual seat at the table which isn’t removed from your bill, this is ludicrous. The overall feel was that they were just trying to get as much money as possible from you without bringing out substantial or well cooked food. Don’t go.

I visited this restaurant recently, and I'm not sure where to begin, but I'll start with the bad first. I know everyone likes to start with the good 🤣. So, when we arrived here, we were given instructions about our menu by the waitress welcomed us in. She sounded like she knew what she was talking about until later when we found out that she was put at the door for a reason. There were things on the menu that incurred extra charges, but she told us they were part of the meal ordered and so there were no extra charges. Then we saw our bill. Ok. The bill also itemized charges for the table covers. This, to me, is unheard of. When did restaurants start charging for tablecloths? They might as well start charging for the table and chairs, the cutlery, even the air inside the restaurant. It's absurd. You're a restaurant for a reason. The table cover is a basic thing you should provide. If you can't, then don't provide it. Leave the table as is. So we get charged extra £45 for things we didn't even know we'd pay for. Eventually, the manager comes and takes some things out, but we still paid just a little less than half of that extra £45. Another thing is the cocktails were served in Martini glasses🍸 which means not much content, and worst still, it was void of alcohol. I'm certain it was just juice from the taste of it. And I think the bartender knew because he kept looking at me as I was tasting and making comments to his colleague. He knew he didn't put alcohol in it. What a rip-off. Now to the good. The restaurant has a rustic feel to it. The service (apart from the gaff above) was actually nice and almost top-notch. The steak was perfect. The dessert was lovely. The starter was amazing. If you go here, I wouldn't advise you drive down. It's literally near busy Liverpool Street Station. That area. I'd visit again but only because of the food.

This restaurant is purely run via people purchasing vouchers. Even with a voucher I parted ways with over £80 for sides and supplements. The interior is shabby, dated and worn out. The man who seated us was nothing but rude. It’s literally a conveyor belt of people and food being churned out. We were in there for less than an hour. We skipped dessert, couldn’t face staying there a minute longer!

We did this on a Virgin experience voucher so I do not have high hopes. The service was excellent and really efficient. The atmosphere felt really rushed where you felt indirectly pressured to eat and leave. I say indirectly because everything was pre done so it was sit down choose, a few moments later food arrived, eat and away you go ready for the next person to take your table. The prawn cocktail was a £2 supplement and the prawns looked dried like they had been sat out for a while. We had croquettes and salad as one side dishe each and we both went with the 8oz rump steak which had no supplement and it was beautifully cooked and really tasty. We paid extra for the peppercorn sauce which lacked peppercorns. Our total additional bill was £34 as we had some water so in total our bill would have been £89. For the price it is what it is and I would recommend just sticking to the steak and ignoring the side dishes. When you consider we paid £18 for two sandwiches and two coffees at cafe Nero at kings cross it's inline with London prices.

Absolutely shocking. Feel completely ripped off. Don’t waste your time or money. The waiters just don’t care and the steak is chewy. I don’t usually give negative reviews but please consider going elsewhere. We actually complained to our waiter but they were not interested or console us on how it could be corrected. Waiters had no etiquette and leaned over us. Females got their meal second. Just simple things like this, if you are a high end restaurant these details should be drilled into staff. Will not be returning. Left feeling ripped off and frustrated. Had to pay extra for steak and sides were a joke. They had the cheek to put service charge on top.
