The Cow in City of London, Westminster

Surely I've had one of the best waiting times EVER! My friends were late for our meeting, and I was killing time chatting with some of the staff (Hugo and Charlotte). All of a sudden, Hugo spots my book "The Politics of Narrative", and and the informal small talk turned into a DEEP intelectual conversation about ethics, anthropology and politics while having a glass of Reisling wine (also recommended by Hugo, AMAZING wine)! Such an amazing people! Cheers lads!

Como 4 , reservamos aquí debido al menú, a mi hija le encanta su filete y esto ofreció exactamente lo que quería, y más! Ella compartió el bistec Tomahawk (35 oz!!! ), yo tenía la hamburguesa Buttermilk y mi hijo tenía los niños Salchicha y Puré - digamos, nos fuimos muy contentos y volveremos de nuevo seguro! La comida era simplemente increíble, el servicio era excelente y el ambiente era una mezcla perfecta de nivel de ruido, distancia entre mesas, tiempo y amabilidad, nos sentimos muy bienvenidos! Recomiendo a cualquiera que visite...

Llevé a mi esposa e hijo y su familia a comer y decidí entrar, se dieron pedidos en el bar y pagué por la comida, el pub estaba tranquilo y la comida llegó bastante rápido, mi esposa y yo teníamos un inglés completo, hijo tenía pastel de carne, nuera tenía Mac & cheese y los niños tenían los deslizadores, la comida de los niños era excelente relación calidad-precio, mi hijo e hija dijeron que sus comidas estaban bien, pero nada especial, el desayuno era deficiente los huevos eran gomosos, tiras delgadas de tocino eran difíciles, salchicha tenía una extraña twang, pudín negro era bueno, el servicio estaba bien, pero no volveremos hay restaurantes más baratos y mejores en Westfield

Este es un buen lugar a lo largo del camino al Estadio Olímpico y también bastante cerca de la magnífica nueva Sadlers Wells East. La mayoría de nosotros teníamos filete que estaba muy bien cocinado - propiamente raro en algunos casos, medio raro en otros. Las dos hamburguesas obtuvieron buenas críticas. Los calamares estaban demasiado maltrechos y un poco decepcionantes. El servicio era excelente y el vino bueno y a un precio justo. Vale la pena visitarlo.

Great pub tucked out of the way. Its got 2 floors with the ground floor being the drink/dance area and the 1st floor is the restaurant. I cant comment on the restaurant as I've never eaten there. You can stand at the bar, sit down inside or hang out in the garden at the front. Its a relatively nice sized and open pub. The toilets are well decorated and have always been very clean even towards the end of the night ;) The pub sometimes has a DJ or even if there isnt one the music selection is a good mix of modern/90's/80's usually. The drink selection is very good including middle class mixers. Now and again they change a few of the liquors especially the dark rum which is my preferred drink. Also, beers taste pretty damn fine on draft. The bar service is generally good despite how busy the evening can get and most bar staff remember what order the patrons came up to the bar (Thank god!) I believe there is always security on the door but they are there to look pretty, not to hassle you for ID. The crowd mostly carry a good vibe. A very diverse mix of people come here. Most seem like your 9-5ers just finished a day at the office. Rarely any trouble and rarely any riff raff. Now the price, Maybe Westfield are greedy? maybe the cow want to rip people off? Its far above 'average' London prices which is the only negative. Ive come here many times since it opened , generally its my go to pub for drinks with friends and dates lol. Soon ill be dragging my wife to be down here ......

Lovely pub, had a really nice Sunday Roast

We called for a drink limited seating inside as lots and lots of tables were reserved so we had a pint sat outside and moved on. We enjoyed it I think you need to book.

A well made Sunday roast for 2 people and reasonably priced in a quiet atmosphere. Will be going back

The food is absolutely disgusting I ordered calamari rings and they were not even cooked As it was the last order they did not even take their time to make it properly As well as the burgers (Disgusting) Definitely won’t recommend if you go there late

Roast dinner was amazing. Hosted my parters Birthday dinner really well. Allowed us to play our own music in the venue, food came out quickly and very reasonable priced especially for London. Give you a pretty decent amount of food. Definitely got my moneys worth.

Nice food, shame they ran out of Sunday roasts, we were there at 4pm

La comida era buena, al igual que las bebidas. Mujer tras la barra era muy amable, fuera de eso el servicio era muy frío. La comida se deja caer en la mesa sin una palabra, no hay devoluciones en nuestra comida. El único comentario sobre la comida sería que el queso vegano era muy acuoso (pensaba que era mayo) y las hamburguesas venían con encurtidos a pesar de que no estaba en el menú que lo hacían.

Obviously a huge favorite because it's packed and one of our friends' faves, but we had a VERY uneven food experience. I got the salad and potatoes (I wasn't that hungry) -- salad was fine but potatoes were deep fried and tasteless. My husband got the potato pancake with crab sauce and it looked like someone had thrown up on his plate. Totally unappetizing, if not hideous, and really quite grotesque. Our friends were wise and got the tumbler of prawns and shared a steak on mash which looked quite nice. They couldn't make a martini, so I had a negroni which was excellent. Others had Guinness and cider which are hard to screw up. So ... just order wisely!

Corrected: Lovely pub inside but £15.10 for 2 pints of Estrella felt a little steep. Then again, it is inside Westfield and as said, it is very well decorated / furnished and has a nice feel.

I had steak and ale pie ,which was nice. However, the mash potato portion was very small.The chips was lonely 😂as there was about 8-10 enough My for a small child.My sister ordered a vegetarian breakfast, which was OK,but the vegetarian sausages 0/10 were awful🤢. The texture was like mash potato , no taste Avoid !!!!.

Had a great time at the Cow, loved the mac and cheese! Andora was super helpful in helping us find seating/get sorted. Would recommend!

Excellent Service and fantastic food. It wasn’t obvious on entry where to go if you had a reservation (top floor) but once that was sorted it was a really nice place to eat.

Came in for the first time b4 West Ham game as given up on bars in ground, always loved Youngs Pubs, Lamb is my go to in town. Excellent, why have I waited so long. Great Ales, Scotch Eggs Sausage rolls. Nice staff, good service even though very busy. Well done, Excellent.

Not a lot of choice - the only pub near the tube station. Not large enough and easily gets very busy, but the staff is great. If it is really busy, try (the only) bar on the opposite side.

Call me old-fashioned but the least you might expect when buying a not inexpensive pint is that the bartender would bring it to you rather than leaving it by the pump so you have to walk down the bar to get it.

Great pub and even better food. I was shocked to find the fish and chips was gluten free as they use a gluten free flour and cider instead of the typical beer batter, it was so yummy 😋

Buzzy place that is what it is - decent place to drink at Stratford

I visited this pub before a home match at West Ham's London Stadium. Very popular with fans. Good beer. Had to queue at the bar, but this was unavoidable as so many fans were gathering for the match.

Amazing food and great traditional pub atmosphere in a city!! This will become a must eat out pub when we visit London from the country. Traditional British food abbots finest 👌

Had the duck breast with potato gratin, rainbow chard and port and plum jus. It was rather disappointing tbh. The rainbow chard just looked like shredded cabbage and the plum and port jus tasted like plain old gravy. The duck had no discernible flavour either. Rather disappointing for a £25 meal. The banana waffle, which I had for dessert, was nice though. Paid £12.50 for a rather small 'medium' glass of wine too. My brother had the plant based burger which he said wasn't nice. He also complained that the cranberry juice was too sweet and tasted watered down. All round improvement needed, it seems.

Popped in to the cow with my mother in law for a nice glass of wine after a busy day shopping, the staff were lovely and full of Christmas spirit. The young guy Daniel was very sweet. The pub itself was beautiful have not been before, when next in Stratford will pop in again.

I went to the cow in Stratford for a few drinks. There was a really friendly bubbly person who served me and speaking to me and my friends. I believe his name is Daniel or Danny. He made our afternoon and was in a very good Christmas Spirit!

I came in for some lunch and there was a man called Daniel who was very helpful and was very polite and gave me a nice customer experience, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Quite pricey but good beer selections. Cold air was coming from the windows near the entrance, we kept our coats on.

This is the third time visiting The Cow in Stratford with my family and I and it's fast becoming an annual event. The staff are always friendly and the food is excellent. I personally like the steak but other family members have said their burger, fish & chips, ribs, steak & ale pie and plant burger were all excellent too. We have always been seated on the top floor, as a large group, so the ability to have a conversation is easy. The ground floor can be busy and on West Ham home games very busy. You can turn up on the day and get a seat but I would personally recommend booking in advance to guarantee your place. I definitely recommend The Cow for the food, service and staff as all are excellent.

Nice traditional pub just outside Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. Ideally located for the Olympic park.

Great Christmas meal. Only things missing was there was no stuffing, no Yorkshire pudding not much veg and no carrots. Very expensive also.

Pretty relax atmosphere. Queue at the bar so we thought of ordering via the QR code. It was tedious so we just finished our drinks and left.

Fantastic food and service. The team could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The food was also amazing the best Christmas menu I've had in a long time.

Booked this place for a team meeting, this is the second time I have been and the service is great. They offer various meeting rooms/spaces, the packages are great and they are happy to accommodate various dietary requirements. We booked the full day package to include unlimited tea&coffee and a lunch buffet which we loved. Great food selection and most importantly we thoroughly enjoyed it. Andora and the rest of the team took great care of us, thank you!

We ordered the fish and chips. Frankly, the batter was overcooked and the fish did not taste good at all. I liked the chips however. I’ve had fish and chips at many different places but this has to be the worst. Thank you for trying

Went for a beer before a game of football brilliant

We were in a large party, 18, and Daniel the waiter attended to all our needs and requirement. Drinks flowed and food came out together, as much as it can for that many guests. Thanks Daniel.

Very Poor Service. Arrived Sunday evening 16:30, one staff member behind the bar, with a least 2 other bar staff that I could make out chatting whilst customers waited. Then after waiting 10-12min with the one staff member still serving the original customer, another barman finally joined, only to pick 1st customer on entering behind counter, ignoring all customers who had been waiting much longer. Having worked in the bar trade myself for years, this is just poor craft. At least ask who’s next, and make an attempt to determine same or better yet ask the barman who had been serving. Once this happened my companion and I left. Shame have been drinking here since it 1st opened, but poor service is inexcusable in this trade and will not be visiting again any time soon.

We booked The Cow for our (large) family Xmas gathering last weekend and it was a real success. The food was, on the whole, good and portions decent. They were able to deal with multiple varying orders (including kids and allergens) without issue. The service was brilliant during the day and we were made to feel welcomed and able to take our time. We will definitely book again. Particular shout out to Andora on the booking team and Laura, Nikki and Amy from the on-site service team. Thanks for helping make the weekend go without a hitch.

Restaurant is freezing cold, unpleasant to sit in, most people wearing there coats to eat doesn't result in a pleasant dining experience.

Midweek visit so quiet, but food and service were spot on.

Sat on the top floor the windows had been open and it was fairly cold. It never really warmed up. Food was good but could have been warmer also

Turned up pre match West Ham V Everton about 12, for a 15:00 KO and found this place for food. Was no availability for a sit down but they found me shortly afterwards and offered me a table upstairs with my son. The service was on point, we ordered a Steak M/R for my son and I had the steak pie and mash. The pie and mash was of a good standard and about right for the venue and area. £22 The steak was £26 or 28. My son wasn't happy that it was M/W vice M/R so we mentioned this to the server. They promptly offered to re do a steak for us. The 2nd steak was perfectly cooked and spot on. Although high in price but right for the area we was happy with that. Only part I've knocked down is the steak. But as I said was corrected immediately and with respect. Good venue downstairs for pre-match drinks. But if you are looking for a quiet meal use on non match days and you will do great.

I had an incredible experience! The security team was outstanding – they were professional, attentive, and made us feel completely safe throughout the evening. The bar staff was also fantastic; they were efficient, friendly, and served our drinks quickly even during the busiest times. It’s rare to find a venue where both safety and service are so well handled. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that truly prioritises its guests!

Popped in for lunch whilst Christmas shopping in Westfields Ploughman’s sharing lunch was huge. It says feeds 2-3 and it really does! Will definitely come back when next in the area

Nice place to stop off for a drink and a chat. There are a few seats upstairs too. Only problem is the ladies toilets are upstairs, big flight of stairs to walk up.No disabled toilets, mens toilets down stairs.

So bad. The pheasant was almost inedible with how dry it was. I didn’t know roasted vegetables could be messed up.

We always have the most amazing service at The Cow - all the staff are great (Mihail always "in control' !) - but, recently, Raul has gone 'above and beyond' - thanks Raul. He's even become a West Ham fan !!

This Irish Pub has great Guinness and a very good pub food menu. They also have an evening dining room. We were there @ lunch & enjoyed all of it.

We passed by here on the way to the London stadium. We also came back after as we loved the experience. The place is themed very well and looks great. The beer is classic Stratford prices so don’t expect too cheap prices. The beer was cold and crisp even when the place was packed. Still havnt eaten yet, but I will book a table one day but usally always fully booked Very nicely decorated bar, worth a visit is you are passing through

This is a cool medium priced place to chill with friends after work. I also go by myself before shopping or heading home after work. When I'm by myself I like to people watch. It's got a decent outdoor space and is dog friendly.
