Friendly staff, quick service and a welcoming atmosphere

What a find! Yesterday (16 Nov) my brother and I were walking from Hampstead to Blackfriars and felt hungry. On entering the Golden Lion we were greeted with such friendly and helpful people especially Holly. The food was outstanding in terms of portion size and quality and excellent value for money. Thank you all at the Golden Lion.

Italian waiter was amazing. Perfect service and great food.

Always enjoy a stroll around F&M before heading out of town on the train. Whilst it doesn’t have the whole F&M coffee and tea selection, there is always a chance to get some family favourite biscuits or last minute present for an up and coming birthday/celebration

El personal es encantador, descarado y receptivo en este bar de champán abierto. Detectan tu tipo y adaptan su enfoque a ti sin un movimiento, lo que es divertido. Fui allí dos veces. Una vez en nuestro regreso de Canterbury y 2 días después para ver a un entrenador en el Eurostar a París. La primera vez, mi esposa tomó un Martini – frío, limpio con un toque de limón y yo tuve un Noam – un diseñador pilsner de Munich – frío y en un tanque de vidrio de alta gama. El cóctel fue de £ 14 y la cerveza de £ 8 – Todo el valor decente para sentarse allí durante el tiempo que desee mientras disfruta de la arquitectura y el ambiente de la calle Pancras Station. Si tienes tiempo entre trenes y quieres levantarte el ánimo, charla con un amigo y siéntete un poco especial, entonces toma un taburete, interactúa con el agradable personal del bar y comienza. This was located ok for or needs, it's pretty much what you get is what you pay for. Clean rooms but very small and if like us you had noisy neighbours in the next room, you can hear everything. The staff were polite. No hooks for hanging coats, so they went on top of the wardrobes, lacking blackout curtains, only 1 bedside table.

Superb. Delicious sushi - take from the belt or order. Very fresh, tasty with a big selection. A bonus was the free wires-less charging for phones where you eat. Lovely helpful staff.

Good place to grab a nice lunch before to catch your Eurostar. Today was about a Crispy Duck Salad. Delicious but would have deserved to be a bit bigger as a main dish.

We only ordered scrambled egg on toast with mushrooms, half an hour wait and not even busy. Chased food as waiting for a train, waitress less than helpful. Food arrived, mushrooms cold, egg hot, toast tiny! Not good value, complaint not well received - no apology for delay. In fact, she was fairly argumentative too.. Didn't eat the food, paid only for the coffee. Would never return.

My friend and I enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea here as part of a spa package. I had the vegan option and was extremely impressed by the quality of the food, especially the cakes which you'd never realise did not contain dairy. The faux smoked salmon sandwiches were made with carrots and had the same texture and taste, which was very clever. We were offered a second round of sandwiches, which felt like excellent value for money. My only tiny ask would be more decaf tea options as I was surprised there was only English breakfast and not Earl Grey. We were seated next to a live harpist which added to the decadent feeling of the beautiful architecture in the impressive building. Overall a wonderful afternoon was had and will return.

A place with such a bad service that it doesn't even deserve one star. Besides, they sell coffee more expensive than other places, but on the other hand, they try to sell a badly made coffee almost by a force. When you object, they say the problem is with the customer. Although my home is far from this place, I came here today just to have a good coffee as I love the taste of coffee in this place. But when I saw their sarcastic and bad behavior today, I regret that I came. Although I specifically stated when placing my latte order, I "I want it extra hot and without foam". The lady who makes the coffee, she made it opposite what I've asked. When I said I didn't want it that way, she said she was a bartender for 10 years. She also told me that the coffee "I drank every day" was something impossible to make. 🤔 And she laughed sarcastically. When I said why are you laughing, she said it's fun for her. Unbelievable ! It's true, they piss you off by not making the order you gave them and they make fun of it. I found this behavior really ugly. The only place I will never go to again... I just want to ask, If it's impossible, why are you taking this order? Besides, why would I ask you to do something impossible to make? You can be a bartender for 10 years, but you don't listen to the customer. You don't care what they want. As far as I can see, 10 years has created a self-conceit in you, not a good experience. Also, I bought the coffee which you said was impossible, from Black Sheep Coffee place a little further ahead, from a smiling bartender, and drank it. It's a pity really. I only condemn you for your behavior today. Because you ruined my day. You may not care about me by just reading one customer, but one customer equals ten customers. You lost ten customers today. Me and my friends whom I have recommended and sent before. Of course, if a situation is your concern!!!
