Venue has wheelchair access. Don't often get a pub with a jukebox. Managed to get in on my mobility scooter. Will definitely go back.

We are staying at the Strand Hotel for two nights prior to seeing Moulin Rouge. We have just eaten a three course meal in the in-house Haxell restaurant. The service provided by all the staff was top class especially ‘Sona’ who was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious - especially the chicken and apricot terrine and the corn fed chicken followed by the fresh fruit salad/sorbet. We highly recommend this restaurant for lovely ambience, fantastic service and delicious food

Food was average at best. The steak was dry and tasteless. Ribs were overcooked. Service was not great. Despite the restaurant being empty, we still had to wait 30 minutes for our order.

£2000 for a family room for 2 nights. First night, tried to visit 12th Knot roof terrace and are turned away because it’s closed for a private function. Try to visit Lysness bar on the ground floor but are turned away again because it’s 18 + and our daughters are 15 & 17. Told we can use “The Den” which is basically the lobby. Go back to the room to have a drink but there’s no ice in the room. Try calling the receptionist but the phone doesn’t work. Have to call reception from my mobile. Rooms are OK but not really acceptable for the price. But maybe this is because it’s London and you can get away with charging premium prices for average services. Shower starting to look a bit grubby. Light switch missing on the mirror. Not impressed. Would not recommend and will not visit again.

The restaurant was very busy , so there were delays with service . Although the website showed several menus , only one was available - the festive menu . Food was good and served hot. Would like some more interesting icecream flavours e.g. coffee and cardamom or brown bread . £140 for 2 . No starters , a main each , one side, a few scoops of ice cream , 2 coffees and a bottle of wine. Wine prices started about £48 per bottle.

We stayed to attend the wedding celebrations of our daughter and now son in law at the hotel. All of staff we interacted with were very professional, attentive and a delight to interact with. Great breakfast offering with plenty of choice and good quality. Room was gorgeous and very pleasantly quiet given the location. Highly recommend having an event there and mooching around the locale too.

The food I felt was expensive. Smoked salmon starters were tiny and soup was not warm. Our friends thought that too much salt was used in the cooking of the steam and risotto dish too. On the plus side excellent bread and a beautiful dining room at the back of the pub which was quiet.
