Wonderful service from the hosts - walking us through the specials and how they prepare their meat. They also did a fantastic job of talking up the history of the restaurant and how they source their food to our American client. He was very impressed with his first trip to London and the quality of the food. The steaks were perfect, and the ongoing service was unobtrusive. Excellent choice for anyone who wants to enjoy the food and company around the table.

Had a very flavoursome rump steak, plus the brisket starter was very very nice too. Would recommend, will return.

Quiet dinner on a Tuesday. Service was friendly and decent overall even if a little slow to start. The food itself was very high standard, cooked exactly right. It's a big space and therefore difficult to get right when empty. I felt like the bar on the middle level could be put to better use during such periods to try and bring it together.

Visited for drinks before an event at Fabric. Really good atmosphere and nice drinks selection.

So, we choose this place as we had a business meeting early and the location near to Farringdon station was ideal, that was where the good points end. Arrived at 9.0am for breakfast, ordered English breakfast tea, orange juice and full English Breakfast. I have eaten many a breakfast and frunk gallons of tea and this entire experience was garbage. Tea was tasteless, orange juice resembled dish water and the food was under cooked and bland. The only part finished was the beans and toast. It’s not cheap either paying £4.95 for orange juice and £16 for breakfast. Never go back stay clear.

Had a lovely visit to the ground floor Bar for some light lunch! Rashida hosted us with beautiful service from start to finish, we went without nothing, can’t fault her. Only downside to the visit is that it can get rather cold down there! Otherwise perfect. X

We had an excellent dinner. The meat was superb, all of the four different main courses. Also impressive were the sides dishes we ordered. The triple cooked chips are to at SoS (we knew this) but I was impressed by the carrots too. All in all a very nice dinner and evening. I did request a quieter spot and I was given a spacious corner table.

We hosted corporate drinks at the Smith's of Smithfield rooftop last night and it was amazing! The communication throughout the booking process was great, very good value for money on drinks & food, we had a perfect amount of space reserved for our party of ~50 people. A particular shout out to Pawel who served us all evening, I did not think we would have such hands on service but he really was so lovely & definitely topped off the experience. Everyone had a really great night and will definitely be back to host drinks here!

I was on vacation and stopped for few drinks, the bartender Harley, make me few, they were soooo good!!! Thanks Harley, everything was delicious but my favorite was espresso martini. I will definitely come back!

Great place. The bar has multiple floors with an open terrace that has an amazing view. But it is expensive, so be ready to spend a lot.

Lenka made us 4 Margaritas. Let’s just say that they were devine. We could tell that she put love into making them. A true craftsperson, and no mistake. PS. They were bloody delicious!

It's a matter of time... Got seated and after 20 minutes I had to wave the waiter to our table to get his attention. We ordered 3 burgers (there were 3 of us) but they could only provide 2 burgers as they had run out - this was lunchtime on a Friday. I asked for no pickles in my burger and had everything removed, except the pickle. And of course everything was overpriced.

Convivial atmosphere in the bar. Food and service good. Merguez sausages starter could have been a little spicier. Service good until we asked for the bill and then we waited...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smith's restaurant, where I was warmly welcomed and assisted by a delightful server named Rashida she anticipated my needs with grace and professionalism. Her impeccable service added an extra layer of enjoyment to an already exceptional dining experience. Overall, my experience at Smith's was nothing short of outstanding, thanks in no small part to the exceptional service provided, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, and I look forward to returning soon.

Came here to work for a few hours. Spot on.

Smiths is always good and averagely priced for London. Lovely burger and chips and helpful staff. Only “could do better” is the lack of a greeter to show you to your reserved table. I had to queue at the very busy and cramped bar for around 10-15 minutes to get attention, then the barman had to leave the bar to find out. Not a huge problem but an area to polish up.

Really disappointed with my experience here last night. Ate at the rooftop and had to find staff to take us to our table. Then whilst ordering items such as purple sprouting broccoli with nduja, green broccoli arrived with unpalatable sauce. Not worth the price at all and definitely don’t recommend going at the weekend.

Absolutely amazing food, and falafel was out of this world. The chefs in the top floor kitchen are smashing it .

We had a great party in the semi-private 1st floor bar. As always, the staff were delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Great food & drink. I'd always recommend Smiths.

As a regular to the second floor restaurant, food was fantastic as always and service impeccable. Great value and setting for business lunches. Slightly marred by the contemptuous nature of the young lady front of house who didnt like that the fact i held the door for my clients slighty too long - circa 20 seconds and rudely pulled this quite aggressively away from me and then with something of an attitude when directing my party to the second floor. A complete contrast to the attentive and pleasant nature of the second floor team. Some more training needed for this young lady but I will keep coming back.

Ordering was a mission as I had to download an app, however the app didn't have a coffee or hot drinks menu. Eventually after some time someone Eventually came to take a coffee order

Sorry, this was rubbish. We arrived on time and our table had been given to someone else. We were moved to another table right by the huge door - mostly left open - and it was freezing. Eventually we ended up asking to move tables which semi-solved being cold but positioned us right under a speaker. The music was loud so we could barely hear ourselves above people’s voices. But the worst thing was the service. Drinks came pretty quickly but we gave up trying to order food. We just couldn’t get anyone’s attention! Having arrived at 18:30 intending to have dinner we left at 19:20 and found somewhere else nearby to eat. There seemed to be one frantic person serving about 30 tables. In summary: rubbish, won’t be going back!

Then they left it on the pass for the waitress to ignore it for 10 mins whilst she stood behind the bar. It’s just not very good now - a poor gastro pub now. Shame - a classic gone to the dogs. very overpriced for an average food quality. the mains were cold. the dessert was average.

Been going to Smiths for many years and honestly say that it's gone very downhill. No one to greet you upon arrival and had to go to the bar and ask for service. Ordered beef brisket which came in slices, and was very dry and tasteless. 2 of the 4 dishes were refunded without question which tells you all you need to know. Apart from one one person, service was non existent. Such a shame from what was once a great place to both eat and drink.

We came across this place after work and decided to pop in for a drink on the rooftop and it was so lovely! The view is stunning the atmosphere was amazing and most of all our lovely server (Lenka) was incredibly attentive. She was enthusiastic, friendly and gave us the best gin cocktail recommendation's. You could tell that she was very passionate about it and that really enhanced our experience. We will definitely be coming back again soon!

Popped in after work for a couple of drinks and were greeted with nice drinks, passionate and friendly staff (thank you Lenka!!) who gave some great recommendations. The view from the third floor overlooks both the shard and St Pauls cathedral. Overall incredible experience and will definitely be back.

Visited for a business lunch, but the atmosphere wasn't conducive to a meeting due to loud music, in my opinion. We both opted for the steak; it was average, but I had to send mine back as it was supposed to be medium rare but was barely cooked, almost raw. They did remove it from the bill, though. Consider this more of a pub with food rather than a restaurant, and set your expectations accordingly to avoid disappointment.

Slow service, shoddy organisation delivering plates of food without any side plates or cutlery. Everything had to be followed up. This one ends up in the avoid category for me.

Lovely location in Farringdon. Champagne was flat but quicky replaced. Probably chose bad as fish a bit bland. Steak next time!

12 of us gathered for brunch to have a family catch and to reflect on a much lived family member who is no longer with us - his favourite meal was a fry-up breakfast or brunch. Smith’s of Smithfield did us proud and we had a great time. Excellent food and exceptional staff made sure our visit was absolutely brilliant. Thank You Ti the team at Smith’s!!

Food was ok but nothing to write home about, disappointed with menu choice as it differed from the website. For the price it was ok. Service was good. Really cold place but staff bought a heater near to table which was good.

We were in the Rooftop Bar and Restaurant on a Friday lunchtime and with the new world order being stay at home working the atmosphere was a bit flat with only 3 tables occupied. However, that didn't stop us having a great time. The food was excellent; the staff were friendly and made the experience all the more fun. Will definitely be back again.

Totally understaffed and freezing cold. Our coffee arrived after we had eaten our food and the room was so cold my colleague and I had to put our hat and coats back on.

We had a delightful experience at the Smiths of Smithfield ! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Chef Tim’s dishes were a highlight, each one a culinary delight. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant added to the enjoyment of the meal. Highly recommend!

As always, excellent at one of my favourite post work bars and restaurants… We sat downstairs in the bar this time, as being early January was very quiet and we arrived about 17:15. Normally I’d always recommend starting on the roof terrace but as it was 🥶 and grey the downstairs bar was better. Typically good old fashioned was the tipple of choice. Onto dinner on the second floor and met by the lovely sommelier Christina who showed us to our table. As has become custom, I allow her to pick the bottle depending on mood and company, and this week was a delightful 2010 Tempranillo Flor de Pingus. My colleagues really enjoyed it. For main, Cote de Beouf 36oz, as always, excellent… (just for me FYI); and my vegan colleague had the Gnocchi, which she really enjoyed. If you want a relaxed, top notch steak experience with amazing wine selection, Smiths js the place to go in the City and then head back up to the roof if you fancy more cocktails 😊

Breakfast service was terrific but it was very cold and food, although very nice, was served on cold plates, coffee in cold cups, ended up being eaten in a rush. Not the usual!

Incredible building, real history attached, visited early morning so atmosphere muted, great for early morning meetings, good choice of beers, ice cold and well kept beer lines adds to a fantastic pint. Breakfast food amazing and the team there are really helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit !

Went on Christmas Day. Fabulous food, service tailed off towards the end. Bur we would still recommend if you are prepared to pay a lot for your festive dinner

OK this used to be an institution and I was a big fan of their brunch menu, but I felt on the latest visit that the best days are behind Smith's. We had brunch there to a reduced menu options due to the end of year situation. The place was almost empty and fridge level cold. The bloody Mary still spot on, but the rump steak chewy and the loaded potatoes were essentially chips with texmix condiments on top! Sort it out please....

Nice, reasonable, good food, nice decor, good selection of drinks. Service was pleasant but lacking - had to ask multiple times for missed parts of food, to order drinks and to clear plates. The venue wasn't busy but a long queue at the bar due to lack of staff. I'd go back, as it is a good venue but I can see this place closing in the future if they don't pick up their service standards.

Came in just before lunch, a bit after brunch, midday on the dot. Whole gaffs empty. Got seated right in the corner next to a rattling window. Asked for 3 seats - got given 2 and a half. Was meeting for a business lunch with a potential client and 2 of the seats were a lot lower than the other. Instantly meant the partner was higher than us. So wasn’t very happy about that. However, food was decent, can’t fault the food, but a little over a priced for what it was. Don’t matter it’s going on the business card so will claim the VAT back, but u know what I mean. Client loved his vegan burger.

How do I describe experience here. It was fantastic 👏 just bravo to the team. Flawless presentation. Frivolic atmosphere. Incredible views. And the food. Oh dear lord if only I could give you a taste of the most marvelous multifaceted diner I have ever had! Prawns, plaice, steak, and the best bread I have had In a long time. Oh my goodness I can't stop going on about this spot! If you have three hundred quid you need to get rid of quickly try this spot! 10 out of 10 for everything!

Had a great experience. Arrived a little late, but was treated very warmly by the staff.

Dined this afternoon as part of a group booking. Was expecting great things as heard so much about the place. Booking process was superb and contact great. Food not so. Starter of squash with an egg was ok. Strange combo and squash was very hard. Turkey main. Two very small slices of very fatty Turkey. Rock hard roasts. Three of them with zero seasoning or flavour?! Rock hard carrot (singular!) not glazed. Very hard unbearable Brussels. Parsnip also hard and couldn’t eat. Pigs in blanket and red cabbage were fab. Dessert of chocolate pear pave was absolutely tiny. Poor meal. Gutted as had high hopes. Atmosphere nice. Maybe I’ll try on a regular booking and a non set meal.

Modern and sleek bar with a great selection of drinks and food. Gets busy and loud some weeknights but has a cosy vibe when it's quiet.

We had our work Christmas party yesterday and it was a memorable experience. Food was super delicious and presented well. Service was good, but they can do better in the timing front. Overall experience was top-notch.

Service was a bit scarce, and nothing written down for our order so came back to check order. Food was quite nice but Full English eggs were overcooked, clearly smallest eggs available and a tiny portion of beans. Wine selection was excellent. Price was hefty so poor value for money. Wouldn’t rush back.

Not the fault of 2 members of staff serving 150 people on Friday afternoon. Slightly surprised that the management thought it was a better idea to put another 5 on the rotor once the venue started emptying out at 5pm. Good call. 👍🏽

Hosted clients here for Christmas lunch today and it was such a brilliant experience. The manager on duty, Shan went above and beyond to really make things special for us and it was so much appreciated by everyone. The food was great, very flavorful and delicious. We shared the chateaubriand and it was tender and beautifully cooked

I was not impressed with my steak which was not medium rare but well cooked. It was very gristly and chewy. I was with a large group and several felt the same about their steak.

Ate here recently with friends for an early evening dinner. The food was very good and in line with what I would expect for a steakhouse at this price point. The broccoli with marmite butter was surprisingly tasty! However, the service was simply not good enough. Despite the restaurant not being especially busy, we had to wait for ages for anyone to pass our table and frequently had to wave staff over to request top ups of empty water and wine bottles (I find running out of drinks in a restaurant practically frustrating since it is surely in the establishment’s interest to sell more). We waited an age to order and, when the food finally arrived, no one returned to check on us. I emailed the restaurant to share my concerns but no one replied.

Came for a weekday lunch here and sat downstairs. Thought the food was ok, nothing special, quite expensive in fact, service average. The vegan burger was decent but just thought the portion of chips and burger was small for 17£. The restaurant was dead in atmosphere and it was really cold inside so wasn’t impressed with that. We ordered an extra portion of chips and sauces which took an eternity to arrive (sauces never did) even though they were empty so not impressed with that either.

First of all, the food in the restaurant. It is quite simply, amazing. And you can see that all the chefs work very hard to make it happen. Paired with the experience from the waiting staff and service, very professional. The staff are very knowledgeable of their menu and specials available. They where quick to make sure we where looked after for drinks and appetizers. All in all my experience of smiths of Smithfield was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Thankyou!
