Service was really helpful and friendly, food was served very quickly and exactly as requested. I was so pleasantly surprised that I could have my hamburger medium rare! This is almost never the case! I was so happy I ate it too fast and couldn't even finish :) Even when we made a stupid order mistake, they took it well and were really friendly. I also liked the classy interior. So would definitely recommend! Prices are average, otherwise, in line with what you would expect.

Great service and lovely food. It was a very busy pub so quite cramped on the table surrounding by people standing drinking so perfect for an informal rather than a relaxed dinner

Staff here were pleasant and helpful. The food was fine - chicken burgers, a bit over-charred and certainly over-priced. Our guest's salad was a huge plate of leaves and little else. Still, we really liked the feel of the place, it's in a good location, and the staff did seem to care whether customers had a good time. The reason we won't be back, though, is the decision to have toilets for both sexes, rather than the recommended single-sex space. Both women in our party could do without mopping up a loo before we use it - and why was there a man using the loo, with the door open?! This new fad is bonkers, and loses customers.

We had a lovely evening at the driver. The service was so good, so friendly and fun. Food was good, nice pub. Can’t fault it really.

They had run out of several items on the menu however it is Christmas time and was very busy, the service was good and the food that we had was good.

Quería agradecer al equipo del Driver. Entramos para nuestra fiesta de Navidad de trabajo y estábamos sentados en el segundo piso. Tengo una epilepsia fotosensible bastante severa y recorrieron todo el lugar asegurándose de que todas las luces navideñas parpadeantes fueran estáticas y no parpadearan, y fueron muy amables al respecto. ¡Muchas gracias, significaba que podía participar en lugar de irme a casa!

El equipo de conductores fue un anfitrión maravilloso, cuidaron a todos increíblemente bien durante todo el día y el almuerzo para 50 personas impares funcionó perfectamente, estaban tan bien organizados y suaves. La habitación era un espacio encantador para estar, colorida y cómoda, y nos divertimos mucho, volteando las mesas para celebrar una prueba después del almuerzo.

5 friends met for dinner and a few drinks. Great atmosphere, really buzzing. Really great waiting staff too. We ordered too many starters incl 2 delicious whole baked Camemberts so we were too stuffed to eat all the main courses. I had a turkey xmas dinner which was ok but a bit average. The steaks looked really good though. The food took quite a bit of time to come out which meant I had to run and leave the others to pay so I could catch my train. Overall really enjoyable evening there. Would defo book again!

Muy cerca de la estación en una calle lateral, este típico pub de Londres ofrece una buena variedad de comida con un buen servicio en un ambiente agradable. Acompañamos a nuestros entrantes y platos principales con varias bebidas y la factura final fue de alrededor de 30 por cabeza, lo cual es razonable para Londres.

Very average experience overall. Food not bad but nothing special either. Service was friendly but a bit too slow - our order took close to 40mins to arrive when there were only two other tables in the restauranr.

Very lovely food , home made fries and a crazy amazing cheese cake ! The noise at some point was quit high but otherwise I did enjoy my evening so much

A cosy, friendly pub with lovely food and great service.

Great venue, seemed to have lots of parties going on upstairs as well. We stayed and dined on the ground floor, I was impressed with their organic wine list and I had the fillet steak was literally the best I have had in years! Service was extremely friendly and they were promoting their Christmas menu which looked so good we booked in Dec, looking forward to going back.

In a part of London over-crowded with trendier-than-thou eateries and specialist restaurants, The Driver was just what we were looking for. Couldn't fault the food (baby-back ribs and rib-eye steak were to die for), the friendly and personal service, or the atmosphere.

My colleague and I decided to stay for a meal in the gastropub after attending a conference that took place in the first floor function room in the daytime. I am so glad we did! The food was delicious. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. Being Coeliac, my menu choices are often very restrictive, but not here. I was able to have to gourmet burger with a gluten free bun and fries that were cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer. My colleague had the risotto which she thoroughly enjoyed. We treated ourselves to a cocktail after and took them up to the roof terrace. There were plenty of heaters up there which kept us warm and blankets if we would have needed them but we didn’t. I will definitely be returning next time I’m in kings cross.

Very well priced place where the quality of food was good - the only thing that let it down was speed of service. The staff were lovely albeit a little slow.

The food tasted fine, but our wait for it was very long. And the staff seemed annoyed by anything that we asked for or needed (felt strange given we were the only ones in the main restaurant). We will not visit again!

We were at the Driver for drinks. I have always found the staff to be good-humoured, approachable and providing good service and the appropriate attention to detail with all clientele.

Enjoyable meal in a restaurant that looks like a pub (because it used to be a pub) with a good selection of food. The service and environment is relaxed but attentive.

My office booked the Roof for our summer party and was amazed by the space! We were so worried about the weather but the Roof is enclosed so works in the sun or rain! Joseph was amazing and attentive behind the bar and made the night flow with ease. We will definitely be back next year!

Me and my partner came here for an anniversary meal, his highlight was the ribs and mine the chocolate fondant. Both were amazing. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately our group did not have the best experience at The Driver and it is unlikely we will return to have food here. We had to wait over an hour to even get our starters and we only had one fleeting "your food is coming". This factor probably tainted our whole experience - however I did find the food over priced for what it was. For example, the Burrata as a starter was charged at £13 - it came with one slice of prosciutto yet two in our party asked for the veg option and there portion was smaller and came without the prosciutto but still priced the same. The standard of food varied yet the best food was the Fish & Chips - other meals were disappointing. The acoustics are terrible on the ground floor - the place needs some sound dampeners as we struggle to even hear each other at all. The rest of the establishment was inaccessible because private hire but it does seem like a great place if you wanted to have a party there - I wouldn't recommend it for small parties of 6 or less.

Great venue for dinner - very good food, nice atmosphere and really friendly service.

Came here while we were visiting London. Our service was not the best had to get the waitresses attention often as well as wait awhile for one persons order. The food was standard pub food, however, I was very satisfied with my healthy option.

A great spot for catching up with friends in a low key capacity with good food.

We read pubs are closing down each week. I know why. We had a work summer party on the roof terrace (on the roof but solid walls and slatted roof). The usual private room in a pub: low tables and half hearted bar. Uninterested bar tender who told me the drinks he didn’t have. Warmish drinks. He spent most of the evening pacing and scratching his beard. I ask for a shandy. This was inconvenient. He then started pouring a bottle of beer into a filthy glass. (although cleaner than his T shirt). I asked for a clean glass. He found another glass (they all looked grubby) and proceeded to polish it with the multi-purpose tea towel slung over his shoulder. As the dirty plates and glasses built up he removed a few glasses in an energy saving type of way. Occasionally his boss turned up looking irritated with the customers. Avoid.

Where do I start initially, the evening started well, the staff were great. Staff: 8/10 Food: 5/10 - Food was basic Ambience/Music: 1/10 The Driver advised us that we can play our music, so we created our playlist, bought our own devices, laptops, cables etc. Everything got plugged in, and we were ready to go. The music kept cutting out; we couldn't even hear the music being played, the speakers were not functioning. One of our guests eventually fixed the speakers; the music still was cutting out. The staff tested the cable, tested the power supply; it clearly was not working; we spent 3 hours trying to resolve this issue. Finally, we were offered an alternative solution, portable speakers, which could have been provided earlier? However, at this point, the ambience had died, and we had to take the party elsewhere. We were offered £100.00 worth of drinks, bearing in mind the average price for drinks were £8.00, A very disappointing evening. Advice to The Driver Team: Ensure to check your appliance/systems before an event.

We had a lovely dinner there. The fish and chips was lovely and the trio of ribs etc. was very big and tasty. Food was good value for money. Staff very friendly, especially Viera! Highly recommend!

Asistí a este lugar para una función de trabajo. Habíamos contratado el bar de la "terraza de la azotea", pero la realidad es que en realidad está más cerca de estar enjaulado. Es muy pequeño y debido a que las paredes de metal son tan altas, no puedes ver ninguno de los techos de Londres. ¡No puedes ver nada! Básicamente desperdició el buen clima al estar en este lugar. Además, todos se quejaron de que no podíamos escuchar la música y el personal nos dijo que no podíamos tenerla más alta debido a que estamos ubicados cerca de los residentes. Algo que tal vez deberían mencionar antes de reservar. No se permiten bebidas de barril, solo si baja 3 tramos de escaleras hasta el bar principal. Tampoco se le permitió pagar con tarjeta a menos que volviera a ir a la barra principal. Tipo de derrotas el propósito de estar en la barra superior del techo.Con todo, bastante decepcionante. No probamos la comida ni pasamos tiempo en el bar principal, así que no pudimos comentar, pero no reservamos este lugar para un evento privado.

Driver is a gorgeous quirky pub with a nice chilled ambience. We really liked the decor. I think the food is slightly overpriced for what it is. I’d expect to pay £18 for a main and £10 for a starter at a exclusive restaurant not a pub. Saying that the Ribs were pretty good. Our starter wasn’t so great but the manager was kind enough to change to the squid which was much better. Good service. This gastro pub could be amazing but some tweaks needed to the menu and pricing. Perhaps a 2/3 course deal of some kind. We enjoyed our evening and would go again. I would go back for those ribs for sure ...

Great service from start to finish. Super helpful & friendly event manager throughout & barman on the night. Everything was taken care of. No problems at all. Lovely venue, excellent food, fab drinks, decent sound system. Highly recommended.

La empresa para la que trabajo contrató la barra del primer piso del conductor. A su llegada, parecía un lugar decente, con una barra general en la parte inferior y otras partes en los pisos de arriba, sin embargo, me decepcionaron rápidamente con las instalaciones de baños, el primer piso tiene baños unisex (solo los tres cubículos) y estaban no en la mejor limpieza, y varias de las mujeres del grupo no estaban particularmente impresionadas, sin embargo, había baños separados en la planta baja.

Great vibe and the best steak I have eaten in the UK

Un pub gastronómico genuinamente impresionante. El personal muy amable y eficiente. Y un menú muy interesante. Tres de nosotros elegimos diferentes elementos en el menú. El servicio fue muy lento (a pesar de no ser un martes por la noche especialmente ocupado) y la comida era muy normal y más cara que en otros lugares. Ordenar una hamburguesa y que le dijeran "estará bien hecho, ¿está bien?" Fue extraño. - Y, sí, como es lógico, estaba seco.

With so may great eating choices in the area, I just couldn't recommend The Driver. It was only average: food was okay, prices on the high side and service poor, despite being fairly quiet.

Lovely visit to The Driver. Perfect for a catch up with family. Nice pub food. Would imagine it can get pretty noisy at the weekend, but mid week was fine.

I booked a private room for my 30th Birthday here for the 9th March, right from the off the team at The Driver were very helpful and helped me plan everything for my party - even things I didn't think of.

Had a wonderful dinner at The Driver. I would highly recommend. Service and food were great. Amazing ribs, 4 of 5 of the group ordered them and loved them, a wasn’t expecting a full rack! White chocolate cheesecake was delicious too. Funky decor and well priced, we will be back! Thank you for the friendly and efficient staff who looked after us so well. This is a gem in Kings Cross

I loved it!!! The staff was really lovely and the food was also great. My friends and I order platters to share and I had the duck breast and the Cheescake. Everything was DELICIOUS. The whole experience was AMAZING and just 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross Station. I highly recommend this space. One of the managers told us that they also organised private parties, worth it to check it out!

Food mediocre as in previous reviews, other than cheesecake which was delicious. Overall not good value for money. Far better places to go, unless you fancy cheesecake and a coffee.

OK, it was a Friday night. And I am some way past my youth. All the same, the noise levels were very high - talking to my partner opposite on a small table usually required raising one's voice. Notwithstanding this, the staff did a good enough job with the service, even if they did get our simple order a bit wrong. Oh, and I was threatened by a drunk. If it's a burger a beer and some buzz that you are after, I heartily recommend the place. If you want a quiet meal, certainly avoid the weekend!

The Driver is a lovely restaurant, slightly off the beaten track, so not too busy. Nice venue, clean toilets and really good food at fairly reasonable prices...

I came to the driver for a friends birthday last week in one of the driver's private rooms and had a fantastic time! The driver staff couldn't do more to help and the evening was a huge success. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for somewhere to hold a party of any kind.

Nice pub inside, I had the fish and chips and the fish was pretty bad which was disappointing. My friends meals both looked much better though.

I went to The Driver for my anniversary and it was an amazing experience. We had crispy calamari as starter, my fiancee had the steak and I had the risotto. The chocolate fondant was great too! I definetly recommend this place. Service, food and ambiance was Fantastic. Looking forward to come back!

Came here Friday evening for my husbands Christmas party... Had the first floor.. My first time here but hubby been quiet a few times. Room was really nice and the disco was fun! Got given finger food and that was delicious! Had a fun night and thought the pub was lovely

Slow service and poor quality food. Christmas menu sounds great but ridiculously overpriced for the Iceland quality and portion size given. Only good thing about this place was it had availability and now I know why.

We had great book and fabulous service on a really busy Friday night. Have already recommended this place to a few friends.

It took over 45 minutes for us to get our food. Thankfully the food made up for it, but it would have been nice not to wait that long next time.

I booked this on a recommendation from a work colleague. Despite being in the Christmas rush with lots of large groups my party of 3 was welcomed, and service was quick and attentive. There seemed to be 2 ladies looking after our floor - (the other floors were taken up with office parties so I look forward to experiencing the roof terrace when open to the public) and they kept the whole night flowing no smoothly, always on hand if needed. The food was great ( we had turkey and all the trimmings) and wine reasonable. I would definitely recommend and will go back. Very happy with this discovery!

I went to The Driver for the first time a couple of nights ago. The food was very good, the service friendly, professional and welcoming. The place was full, but you could hear yourself talk, and the background jazz piano music was audible but not intrusive. I will definitely be going back.

A lovely, cosy place. it has a nice warm atmosphere. Food was good. the service was a little slow at times, trying to get the attention of the staff but they were always pleasant and friendly. I had a chilled catch-up with friends. I would go here again.

Had a party of 9 meet for a meal at The Driver on Friday evening. It was a great success. The food was great, the drinks were good and the service was absolutely excellent. The fillet steaks were very good indeed. They looked after us particularly well. It’s a bit tucked away and passing taxis are not as plentiful as you might hope, especially on a very wet night. An all round good place, you should visit it.

Four instead of five for rating because as a group of six it was difficult to hold a conversation because of the noise. Typical pub noise, but as a gastro pub, thought it might be calmer. That said, we were ushered to a quieter area than the first table offered and the service was very good. Wine was a tad expensive, limited choice unless you pId £30 plus but our less expensive choice was very acceptable. The food was generous in size and cooked to perfection, I had the scallops and the Hake, delicious. Most of the group had the burgers, homemade and by, no complaints other than food on boards make for difficult eating. For a decent meal just over 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross Station, well worth a visit.

There were 6 of us for a birthday meal for friends. The food was delicious and well cooked and the service was fantastic. Really great attentive and friendly staff. We sat around the corner in a little area that felt as if we had our own private dining room. Overall great good at great price.

My friend booked this place as it had great reviews however we were deeply disappointed.

We stayed overnight waiting for Eurostar and wandered into this gastropub and received a very warm welcome. Good atmosphere, nice food and drink at reasonable prices. I noticed a fair few people came in and took their drinks up on the rooftop terrace which seems to be popular.Nice place to use if you want an informal good meal and drink.

Over priced for quality of food. Out of the way location from kings cross. 5 star Restaurant prices and low quality pub food at best.

We were staying overnight waiting for the Eurostar in the morning and wanted something close and not too expensive or well tacky. By chance we came across this wonderful gastropub. Just off the main roads of Euston and York Way it was elegant had a great range of drinks, cocktails, Gina and craft beers. The food was great too. Recommend the halloumi burger with sweet potato fries. Friendly staff - couldn’t do enough for you which is unusual in some parts of London thoroughly recommend.

I was really looking forward to our early evening dinner here but was slightly disappointed. The menu looked like pretty standard gastropub food and looked great when it arrived, but the fish was over cooked and the hallucinations burger was dry ( would have been much improved with some relish).<br />Out waitress was very nice but I have to say it was slightly galling to have 15% service charge added to the bill. We eat out a lot but I haven’t ever seen this applied to a table of 4 before.

The waitress was brilliant who looked after me while my friend was late. The ribs were the best I have ever had in the IK.

Booked through opentable as looking for somewhere with a deal near to Euston/kings cross. What a fab find! Friendly staff with a warm welcome is a great start! We left our luggage and grabbed a couple of rosè and headed for the roof terrace as it was a warm evening. What a good space! Headed down to the ground floor in this smart gastro pub to order and eat. A bowl of olives (fresh and tasty) before a fillet steak and the lamb rump both cooked to absolute perfection and delicious. I’m usually wary of lamb as it can be fatty but this was the best ever!! Washed down with a bottle of rosè a perfect end to a couple of days with my daughter before heading home. £100 inc service (thanks Gemma)

A great find through open table. A warm welcome from friendly staff was the start of a great dining experience. We grabbed a glasss of rosè and olives and headed to the roof for a drink and a chat before dinner, what a fab space to enjoy! Main meals of lamb rump and fillet steak were so tasty and cooked perfectly, so often not the case. Looking forward to my next visit to my daughter and a chance to eat here!

Great authentic venue with super food and a great atmosphere. Lovely staff/owners, and great cheesecake!

Such a lovely place, good food, nice ambience, but the bill was a shocker when we saw the price of the wine. A friend and I had white wine spritzers (wine and soda water), admittedly we didn’t specify the wine assuming it would be house. But the venue used the most expensive wine on their menu and didn’t advise us of this or offer us any choice. This was poor value for money for that reason.

We hired the whole venue for a large event and from start to finish The Driver and their team were very supportive and helpful.
