We have visited the regal many times over the years and always been totally happy with everything ! This time was now different, the restaurant has undergone a substantial redecoration and although you now find your own table the ladies still bring your food to you, the same group of waitresses continue to be friendly And helpful, the food as usual beautiful cooked, piping hot and fresh !

Our family had a wonderful dining experience at The Porterhouse Pub. The seafood platter to start was fresh and flavorful, setting the tone for a great meal. The kids were delighted with their pizza and burger options, and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, complemented by a delicious pepper sauce. My wife enjoyed her pork dish, finding it tender and well-balanced in taste. While the presentation of the meals could have been improved with a little more finesse, the overall quality of the food was excellent. The selection of beers could also benefit from more variety (some nice premium local IPAs), but the exceptional service and well-timed delivery of dishes made up for it. In short, The Porterhouse Pub offers a fantastic dining experience with great food and attentive service, with just a few areas for refinement. Highly recommended for families looking for a comfortable and satisfying meal!

This place was a really nice find on a March Friday evening for a middle-aged but youthful couple visiting Lowestoft. Our B&B recommended the place next door (pink neon lights, fishbowl look), not for us! But right next door is a 'proper' nice pub. Comfortable, clean, and most of all, very welcoming. As soon as we were halfway to the bar, we got a cheery "hello" and "what can I get for you, are you going to be eating" I'm a bit grumpy when people are overly (falsely) friendly. But the young man and young woman who served us got it just right. Left us alone when wanted, and were quick to respond when we asked. The food is simple, (we had "chicken in a bucket') but the portions are good (but not wasteful) and really tasty and fresh. We've never been to Lowestoft before and probably never will again as we were here for a very specific reason, but our visit to this lovely pub turned a 'functional visit to the town into a pleasurable meal/night out. Thank you

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł

We were visiting for a weekend and went here twice for lunch. Nice selection of items and we enjoyed everything we had. Staff were friendly, tables clean and food came out quick. Chatted to some locals who were there which is always a good sign. Even took some cakes away.

Nice tea room, tucked away on the main seafront behind the upside down house. It was busy but we eventually found a table big enough for all 6 of us, Good selection of hot and cold meals and small portions for the 2 children. Between us we had a cheese ploughmanâs, a full English, an egg mayo sandwich, and a cream tea for the adults, chicken nuggets and chips and a burger for the children. Quick polite service, the food was freshly made/cooked and was very tasty. Lots of cheese on the ploughmanâs. Also had 2 pots of tea with spare pots of hot water for more than enough drinks, we stayed there until closing time as the weather was atrocious. Friendly attentive staff but I couldnât understand a single word they said (very strong Norfolk accent) Definitely recommended
