Lovely food, nice atmosphere, very obliging staff

Fantastic place. Great menu with typical pub grub and pizzas :) decent drinks options too. Worth a visit.

Great meal to see in the New Year, brilliant onion soup with cheese, and a tasty lamb burger with all the trimmings. Warm welcome as always from the bar staff.

Went here for our work Christmas lunch. Nice place, efficient and friendly staff. I had red pepper soup (huge bowl), roast turkey and Biscoff cheesecake. All of the food was very tasty, although my roast was missing the broccoli which I only realised later. The cheesecake for dessert was delicious. Couldn't say how much it cost 'cos work paid. Would recommend.

Great food and lovely service. We were a table of 6 and all of us enjoyed our food, which was tasty, well presented and hot. Shame about the situation of the table. We were squeezed into a corner really close to a kitchen area which created a chilly draught each time the door was opened and there was barely any room behind two of our guests and the wall! On a table situated elsewhere we would have really had a marvellous time. That said we couldn't fault the food and service 😊

Never had a bad meal here. Well kept selection of beers. Service always good and friendly.

What a great find, lovely atmosphere and good food. Fish and chips in front of an open fire is to be recommended. On the Saturday night we visited they had alive band on in the evening who were amazing (I think they were called the tomatoes) a great choice of music and so much fun. We will be back.

Went for a meal with 7 others Inc 3 children. Had a really nice dinner and the price was good. Service was excellent especially from the young brunette who served us. Apologies for not using her name! Highly recommend a visit

Situated out near Burgh Castle, this little pub and restaurant has obviously been recently modernised and is very pleasant inside as a result. Outside seating is available and, depending where you choose, views across the landscape are possible. Good beers available including my current favourite, Level Head. Didn't get a chance to try the food here, unfortunately.

One of the best roast dinners ever! Great food, friendly staff and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and you will not be disappointed with the roast dinner!

We found this pub by chance and thank goodness we did . The food was excellent. Compliments to the chef . There were five of us. My friend and myself had chilli chicken so tasty. Three other friends had other choices which they all enjoyed. Highly recommend will definitely be back

Very enjoyable Saturday lunch time meal. Friendly atmosphere, dog friendly and great food. The pie was amazing and from 2 Northerners that's quite a compliment. Had the pleasure of meeting the lovely lady that makes the pies. Portions were generous and the chips were fantastic. We will definitely be back again soon. Only thing that I could fault was the pint of John Smith's wasn't great. Think there was an issue with the pump so could well be a one off. Not enough of an issue to loose a star because everything else was so good.

Ordered 2 carveries from a sheet we believed we could order 2 meals from one sheet my husbands carvery was presented No query if I was expecting a meal just put the meal in front of my husband (no question was the lady eating) . I waited to see if another meal was coming the table we had only 30 mins in before the next customer..I had to go to the bar to find out only one meal was ordered. Wouldn’t you think if two people were sat at the table when you put the meal in front of the customer firstly they would offer the meal to the lady first and query as only one was eating. When I went to the bar I had to order another meal and wait for this. Started to eat my meal then the waitress told me I had to move in the middle of my meal as the next customers were here. How humiliating where has table manners gone. Train your waitresses accordingly.

Ate here Friday and had the pies and triple fried chips which were very tasty, service great. Returned for a late Sunday roast which was delicious....as close to homemade as can get, generous portions and great gravy. Thanks all x

Went for a midweek lunch outside in garden with our little dog got our drinks sat waiting for lunch the garden team turned up at 1 with two large mowers ,stimmers we had to move 4times as they were cutting &moving the tables our dog is a nervous dog so much we asked the waitress why they worked at lunch time said it wasn't her fault she was very rude not a sorry so we left without having our food dissapointed

Great meal off the specials board, steak baguette, with garlic chips, great taste and great value as always. Swift service and great ales.

A busy Thursday night but all was well. Good and tasty food. Friendly staff working under a lot of pressure and managed our table of 6 with excellence, did get my daughter's mixed grill wrong as served an egg when we requested no egg but dealt with quickly and efficiently. Would certainly visit again if in Burgh Castle area.

Good food, poor service. Too slow for food to arrive, one staff member was borderline hostile, not sure if they can help their face or if they actually have a problem. On arrival it was as if we had majorly inconvenienced the bar lady even though we'd booked. Some staff were lovely but not enough to return. Also locals prioritised at the bar, this again was down to an individual and not all the staff. Could have easily been a pleasant experience but no.

The staff are attentive and polite. Excellent we can take our dogs in the bar area Lots of choice . As the bar got busy we took the dogs outside. It was just as nice out there. They found us outside. Give some food which was absolutely stunning and huge great big portions. We have two lots of what is really hunters chicken, the bangers and mash and everybody loves the food so yeah great great venue great food great atmosphere would totally recommend.

Really nice pub offering great food. Menu was good and the do an amazing offering for dogs of a roast dinner which my cockerpoo absolutely loved, except he left the peas 😂. We visited whilst staying at Parkdean and was just a short walk away

Extremely noisy in the 'dining' room and an hours wait for the Sunday carvery to be served to table. Far too long, and when asked if there was a problem causing the slow service, staff attitude was ' so what?'. Not inclined to wish to repeat this experience. There are much better places to eat locally.

Friendly welcoming young staff. Visited Breydon water holiday park camping for a 10 night stay and spent less at the Queens head for an evening meal than at the park. Great draft beer selection, lots of locals enjoying an after work drink. Got seated and served straight away, had more than enough, so missed out on pudding.

We love it here! We visit the holiday homes just round the corner from here and having a pub so close by that allows the dog in is fantastic! The portion sizes are RIDICULOUS! We went for a Sunday roast the time before today and thought ok that’s a huge roast lovely, but it’s all their food! We had fish and chips today and again the portion was HUGE so if your unsure if it’s worth the money you get A LOT for it. Deffo worth every penny as was delicious. When you book in and say you have a dog they really seem to think about where the other dogs are in the restaurant, our girl is old and blind so doesn’t want other dogs in her face and on both times we’ve been sat in the quiet corner at the other end of where another dog was. The staff are always super friendly. Now onto the star of the show! The doggy dinner! So cheap and again the portion size is fantastic! Our girl loves every bit of it! Leaves looking like a rugby ball! It’s become a must on our holidays and we will continue to visit each time we come.

Me and my partner, came to stay for a week locally, and were looking for somewhere for a lovely meal on our last evening and we chose here, The service was first class, the meal was so deli and the place itself was very homely we highly recommend The Queens Head Steve & Maria

Responsive staff & good range of food: mostly excellent. One of our large group has coeliac disease & there was not much choice for her. The pies and fish & chips were excellent.

Gorgeous pub, the service was super friendly, we hadn't reserved but our waitress made us feel welcome and sorted us a table as soon as she could. The food was absolutely delicious, so good we took our left overs home for later! I highly recommend 👌

Sunday Roast is excellent and for a couple of quid extra you can go large as shown in the photo. Best to book beforehand as it's always a popular place. Nice to see a busy pub with good ales, ciders and soft drinks, great staff and excellent cooking.

Wonderful. Stopped for lunch on saturday and had a great turkey and ham pie and chips. Went back for sunday lunch the day after and had another fantastic meal! They are dog friendly and have great friendly staff. Not too expensive compared to similar pubs in the area.

Had food two days in a row here whilst on holiday in the area, it's that good! Pie and mash first day was lovely. The pie had proper meaty filling and tasted great. Chips were to die for! Came back on Sunday for the roast and all of it was lovely. Meat seemed freshly cooked and moist, not dry etc. Wonderful presentation inside and outside and staff very friendly. Would absolutely recommend

We can't fault the food as it was fantastic, however the restaurant was totally bear only one picture on the wall. to one side was three open arches , yep you have guessed it an extremely loud noisy bar . the opposite side to this was the door to the car park with which kids just ran in and out of and round the restaurant. we spent the meal not talking and jumping up and down closing the door. This was such a shame as the food was good but we wont go back

Very nice pub and food was delicious. Absolutely loved the fact that they had a "doggy dinner" for our dog, who loved it. Veg pot pie with fries and mushy peas was lovely. The lotus biscoff cheesecake was a slice of heaven. Our holiday treat!

We decided to try here after spotting it on Google maps and not liking the look of the rubbish served in the local caravan park. Really good home cooked food. Massive portions. Friendly staff. Not too crowded in the restaurant area. Plenty of space between tables. Dog friendly too. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in the area.

We always come here for Sunday lunch when staying at a nearby caravan site. Prices had gone up from our last visit but they have everywhere. We had booked a table but the service seemed really slow. They do a 'carvery' Sunday lunch where you tick boxes on a sheet to select what you want. You now have to upgrade to have more than one meat so we did. Choice of 4 meats; beef, gammon, turkey and pork. I had them all and they were all lovely. Good choice of veg and the best gravy. One of our party couldn't finish so they provided a pot to take it away in. Overall good value, just slow on the service.

Superb sunday lunch make sure you book in advance.

First visit to the Queens head and it won't be the last girl behind the bar very welcoming and friendly beer and food excellent quality and value my friend had the fish and chips and said it was the best one ever from a pub. room very warm and bright. looking forward to our next visit.

Had a lovely meal with friends but was very loud. Food was fantastic staff were lovely

We made a major mistake in going here for the first time on a Saturday lunchtime, as there was a TV at either end of the bar room both showing live football and both turned up very LOUD! Managed to find a slightly quiter area in the restaurant but hardly relaxing, particularly when goals were scored. Food was OK, but poorest triple cooked chips I've yet to experience. In summary, if you're looking for a quiet country pub, drive straight past this one.

Have visited this small village pub on a number of occasions. There is a warm friendly atmosphere. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and the food and service is both to a high standard
