Was told it was a marvellous place to visit. So thought we would give it a try. The farm shop was expensive not much farm produce. It was a bit like an expensive healthfood shop! There was a few animals and birds to look at which was nice. The cafe was very busy the prices looked quite reasonable . Overall very disappointed won’t be going again unless it changes dramatically but that’s just my opinion sorry no photos

We couldn’t get a table and we felt the produce for sale was very limited. I guess you visit here for the dining experience rather than the shopping. It seemed popular for families with kids, I guess it just wasn’t what we expected

Awesome little place to come for lunch with small kids. The food was great, we had the breakfasts and it was all hot and lovely (thick cut bacon was amazing!) And they're is an area out back for the kids to play in a park and also feed some chickens, goats, sheep and an alpaca! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we have been twice now and the farm shop seems like it's been emptied for whatever reason. There was still some bits there but the shelves were essentially empty compared to pictures online but what was there was good quality. Like this place an will be back many times with the kids as the animals out back are so friendly and fun for the kids.

The food was excellent. 2 meals of bacon, brie and bacon panini, with a lovely side salad. And a cappuccino and a mug of really good hot chocolate. So much better than I remember from 3 years ago. Only 5 customers in at 2-30 .p,m, though. It can't last for long with such a low customer base.😕

Been coming here regularly since we moved to Peterborough a few years ago. Always loved the atmosphere, food, animals, selection of goods in the shop and the wonderful service from staff. We had a breakfast here today and it just isn't the same. Food was disappointing. My breakfast had wilted greens and bruised avocado. The toast was cheap white bread. Very different from how it used to be. I'm sad the shop selection is vastly reduced. Thank goodness for Olivia (Liv) - she is AMAZING. Such a positive ray of light!

We've come to harvest barn a lot over the years, mostly for the great events they host. It's always been a great experience despite having to travel far. However last night has brought an end to that. The Grinch Christmas afternoon tea was a dreadful experience. It cost as much as a tea in a dedicated afternoon tea place, but we got a pitiful amount of food here. A two tier afternoon tea stand, for 4 people. 3/4 of a sandwich each, 1/4 of a sausage roll which was sliced up. 1 tiny scone each, or half if you consider there were 2 cheese and 2 fruit scones, the sweet section had 4 different sweets items which were the size of a single bite size baked item you find in a tub from supermarkets. That's all, for 4 people. No tea was served, just cups of cheap soft drinks. We were told to wait outside in the cold until gone the time to come in, despite being told to arrive early. When we get in the table is pre set with menus to buy extras, which were as you can expect, overpriced. An obvious ploy given the lack of food given on the tea. The entertainment was quite horrific. Whoever decided on the character of Grinch for this tea clearly interpreted the several movies available to mean some kind of mix between the queen of hearts and ralph fiennes character from The Menu. They seemed intent on, having run out of entertainment ideas, just shouting "HELLO?" at everyone at the event, individually. The other staff supporting the Grinch were great, though presumably as mortified as the rest of us at what was going on. By the way, I'm writing this here as they have blocked communication everywhere else!!

This is by far the best place I’ve ever eaten in England. This place was recommended to me by a friend of mine. And I am glad I decided to check them out with my family. It was such a great experience. The food was delicious. The portions were to my liking because I am American lol The taste of the food was exquisite. The ingredients were fresh, organic excellent quality. The staff was 1000% amazing. The chefs who cooked our food knew what they were doing because it was the best authentic English meal that my wife and I have ever had since moving to the UK. I recommend everything on the menu, but my favorite was the traditional English breakfast, the Brie and cranberry sandwich, and all the desserts. All of them were amazing. The drinks were great. The location is convenient and so beautiful, The countryside, seems like in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful nature. Their eating area is very cozy and so such with a cute barn ambience to it. The mini shop at the restaurant feels so authentic and marketing genius. This spot is very family and kid-friendly. They have barn animals you get to see in the barn on very big land for free. The barn animals included sheep, different, kinds of goats, chickens, ducks, bunnies, and A LAMA!! And more. Overall, my family recommends this place if ever around this area. We are heading back this weekend because we enjoyed the food so much thank you again to the staff for being so nice to us and accommodating right before closing. 5 STARS! ⭐️

First time visiting to find a regular place for breakfast - Very nice staff and seems like a nice place...food however is not so great. We had a full English breakfast; tomato, beans and sausage tasted a bit odd. The tables were really sticky and filthy, we wiped the table oursekves and staff wiped again but still really sticky so clearly in need of a thorough clean. Ordered a cappuccino which was extremely bitter, they brought a second one out which was equally as bitter. When ordering the food there were items missing on the plate. Could be a really great place if more effort was put into the quality of food/drink and cleanliness. Again, staff were brilliant.

This beautiful barn cafe and shop is conveniently right off the road, past lovely views of fields and greenery. The cafe has a generous selection of foods and drinks, like brunch (served all day) and pots of tea. The shop has frozen pastries, fresh bread, local perishables. There is plenty of seating indoors and out. There are two playgrounds, one for smaller children and one for larger. If you fancy walking around a bit, there is also a selection of animals to view! On property are sheep, alpacas, Pygmy goats, ducks, and chickens. We purchased hazelnut coffee (with soya milk as they have a selection of non-dairy milks), double espresso, eggs Benedict (which they substitute the bacon to make vegetarian!), and a vegetarian breakfast. Everything was made fresh and was exemplary. If you’re after ice cream, the hutch is open weekends and school holidays! Service was quick, and friendly. As we ordered food, they brought our drinks and food to our table outside. Kiera was the person who helped us at the till and came to check to make sure the food was perfect. Tip: if you’re after breakfast, Monday to Wednesday until 11:30 is a breakfast item with a hot drink for £11.99! Bring 50p coins to feed the animals yourself! Recommendation: Definitely recommend checking this place out! Food and atmosphere is great! And they do events throughout the year. Shop local!

The barn is a great concept. My wife is a big fan, but unfortunately the food i had didn't live up to expectation, I had the Mac n cheese with garlic bread. The macaroni was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was not the unctuous thick velvety cheese laden delight i expected, infact the polar opposite. The sauce was thin and runny, lacking any real cheese flavour and also missing the crunchy caramalised crispy top. I did add additional seasoning (which I get is subjective) however, it did improve marginally. Bottom line the lack of cheese and mustard undertones were sadly missed, I was left disappointed as Mac n cheese is one of my goto comfort foods. On a brighter note my wife had the Avo on toast with poached eggs, which were superb.

Harvest Barn is a delightful destination in Peterborough, perfect for families and anyone looking to enjoy fresh, local produce. The farm shop is the highlight, offering a wide selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods, and other artisanal products. The quality and freshness of the produce are outstanding. The on-site cafe serves delicious meals and snacks made from farm-fresh ingredients. The menu offers a variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. The setting is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The farm also features a lovely outdoor area where children can play and families can enjoy the countryside ambiance. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent service and helpful information about the products and the farm's operations. Overall, Harvest Barn is a fantastic spot for a day out, combining the charm of a farm with the convenience of a well-stocked shop and a delightful cafe. It's highly recommended for those seeking quality local produce and a pleasant, family-friendly environment.

Despite the spiel on their web site, my Sunday roast was gluten free by omission! No gf Yorkshire pudding. The beef was so rare, blood was pooling on the meat. The carrot piece was rubbery as was the parsnip - which had bits of stringy side roots still attached. The roast potatoes were crispy going on burnt. None of it was inedible, especially as we were hungry, but it was all such a disappointment. An expensive disappointment as well. Ah well, you live and learn.

My meal and my partners meal were lush, absolutely perfect!! Our grans meal tho had issues, firstly the fish apparently broke cooking so a fresh one was cooked, meaning we ate without her. It then arrived and the fish looked like a frozen battered cod and didn't taste great. To be fair we were given a free drink for the delay and our gran ate 75% of the meal as she was hungry. It won't put us off coming again. The chips are amazing!!!

What a disappointment 😞 simple paninis cheese & relish couldn't be easier really well bread was old & dry no taste u had to look real hard to fine cheese & relish ! If they had run out just say I would choose something else , not charge me £8.49 for this awful creation ! It was all just slapped together on plate . This place used to be really lovely but good god owners please look into the standards your churning out at such prices ! I for one would like to pay fair price for something decent this was not . Nope I didn't complain as those girls on till area didn't need to hear my moan , and what would they do anyway as u pay upfront ! And they seemed tired & unitrested in the place to be honest real shame as I'm local and I always support local but your forcing us further afield and else where . Take a leaf out of Moor farm cafe Newborough, they do it right ! Good food good value for money , good ingredients, & staff attentive & a chef that can actually cook !

We popped in here today on our way home from visiting various places and two of us had never visited before. We ordered a meal each and after two tables who had ARRIVED after we ordered got their food and 30 minutes of waiting, I went up and asked what the hold up seemed to be? To the credit of the young girl on the till she did seem to chase it up although not sure how long we would have waited if I hadn’t have asked? However after 40 minutes we got a breakfast bap with microwaved sausages which were rock hard and inedible and had to be replaced, a £12 fish finger sandwich which was 4 kids oven fish fingers in a roll and a £12 chicken wrap which was 75% salad. All in all not a great visit and won’t be coming again!

We love Toms Cakes, we visit a lot for their lovely choice of cakes, it is always tricky to decide which one to go for! The seating area is relatively limited but we do usually manage to get a space, even if that means we have to wait a few minutes. The staff at very good at asking people not to reserve seats until they have purchased something, ensuring that those who were there first have a choice to sit down if they wish to. In addition to the super cakes on offer, there is also a good selection of delicious paninis, sausage rolls and quiches. There is an outside seating area to enjoy on a warmer day too.
