What a lovely experience. We came for lunch today for my dad’s birthday. We were blown away by the menu choice. So much so, we ordered starters too. The food was delivered on time, hot and of great quality. We had a nice amount of time to let the starters go down before the main courses came out, which was needed as the portion sizes were big!! The service was great and we were asked at each course how the food was. Great prices for excellent food. The environment is cosy and homely and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much

What a find! We stumbled across the Marley Bell by accident and hadn't booked so were very lucky to get a table. We had the Sunday Roast which was very generous, with lots of vegetables, gravy...... and did not disappoint. We will certainly be returning especially with the lovely sunny weather coming 😎

Popped in for a birthday off of a recommendation from a friend and it was a spot on recommendation. The service to start was great, when you arrive your coats are taken and you're shown to a quiet sitting area to talk and go over the menus, here you're told the specials and get a chance to ask any questions and have your first drinks. From there after a few minutes, and once your order has been taken you're shown your table and starters come out, from there it's a fairly normal meal in terms of courses. The service we found to be excellent, whenever you need service there's normally someone around to give the nod to, which is fantastic. The food was really impressive, everything was well presented and excellently done. The steaks were cooked exactly to order too. We'll be returning, and if you're looking for a place to try, I'd encourage you to try it too. Highly recommended.

Always a good selection or real ales, in rotation. Also specialises in ciders and Perry. Has an interesting selection of rums too. Has three, interconnected bar areas. Pamment tile floor, beams, higgldy piggledy, the only surviving pub on Oak street, of an estimated 37 in days of yore. Friendly welcome from staff and other customers, exactly what a real old pub was and should be like. On Thursdays local Folk folk gather for a jam session in the side bar, that alone is worth a visit.

Went for lunch yesterday. As we normally do when staying in Southwold. Only difference this time was we lost Bailey beagle just before Xmas and this was one off he's favourite pubs. So it was abit strange without him. Had the pork chop off the special broad what was excellent and good value Also a scampi and chips. Staff are friendly and welcoming as always. Be back in August.
