At Twenty5 in Ipswich

Had a lunch last Friday four of us . The food was excellent the service was amazing and great value for money.Tina and her team couldn’t do enough for us . Wouldn’t hesitate to go again

The food was tasty, but the lunch service was very slow, with only one other table occupied. We only had main and a coffee and we were there for 2 hours.

First time visiting. Spot of pre football ouch and a drink . Excellent all round . Staff very helpful and friendly good choices in the menus and all reasonably priced. Will definitely be back .

Visited here as out of towners. Food was lovely and portions huge, staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Wine was very reasonably priced.

Not that impressed at all - I’ll keep it short and sweet Special cocktails not available even though on the board as you walk in First wine choice not available Staff very inexperienced unfortunately The main issue though was the 35oz Tomahawk Steak - absolutely 0 flavour - was completely shocked that it offered nothing Starters were just some deep fried offerings without much thought as all had the same salad dumped on the plate without any imagination Ever we were unlucky or people just don’t know what decent food and service is anymore

All the other reviews that I have read have been glowing. It must have been a bad day at the office for them when I went! I had fish and chips ( overcooked), with green beans ( seriously undercooked). Fair play I did say that my meal was unpleasant and they didn't charge me for it (I left a lot of it) . The biscotti cheesecake was lovely though.

This is the first time we have returned since the establishment was taken over and although the food was good being seated close to the Kitchen was not. Listening to the two chefs swearing was so unprofessional and left me angry after my visit, won't be returning.

So happy that we found this restaurant. I cannot recommend it enough to people. It is a small family run restaurant. The welcome and service is lovely. Staff are all professional and excellent at their job. The food is exceptional. The great chef produced tasty, mouthwatering fresh seasonal food to an exceptional standard. We particularly enjoyed the scrumptious home made deserts. Portion sizes are more than enough. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. I would highly recommend a visit - you won’t be disappointed!

Brilliant restaurant - amazing food, service and atmosphere. We were a large group of around 25 and the team were so attentive, even allowing us to stay and have a bit of a private party! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to smaller groups also as the food was excellent.

Excellent food cooked and presented beautifully and large portions as well. Service was attentive and friendly. My husband couldn’t decide between 2 mains so he was offered a small portion of the main as a starter. Went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Called in by chance for a table for 4 on a Saturday night. Luckily they squeezed us in. Very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. Will definitely be going back.

What a little Gem within lots of mediocre restaurants in Ipswich. Mum and son run this small two floor restaurant. From the start they were so accommodating We had booked a table which was upstairs by a large party of ladies celebrating 40th. The were happy and very loud. The manager immediately came to ask if we were ok and found us a quiet table downstairs which was great. Our wine choice wasn't available but Michael (server) said we could have the 2 of following wines for the same price as our choice. I wanted liver, bacon and mash but because I cannot eat butter the chef (owner with mum) made some without butter. The scallops for starter were perfectly cooked, as were the hot garlic oil prawns. I then had perfect liver, just pink in the middle with lots of bacon,mash and gravy. My partner had large med rare steak and homemade chips. We got chatting to Michael, his wife who happened to be there and mum owner. It is really is a great place, dishes well presented, super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend you try it as it is something for everyone one the menu but not to big.

Me and a couple of friends are here at the beginning of December. Under tier 2 restrictions we had to eat outside. So we are in the marque. It was beautifully decorated, with a tree and Xmas lights. The tables were festive too, decorated with plates and we got a cracker each.It was a little cold but we were offered blankets and they turned the heaters around to us. Service was good and staff friendly.We were given complimentary mulled wine as advertised when we asked for it. The food was good. I had the halloumi Barton’s, beef main and sticky toffee pudding dessert. The dessert was the best part and the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had! We will definitely return!

The twenty5 team did themselves proud hosting 15 for a family wedding reception yesterday. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The room looked incredible thanks to their generous decorations purchased specially to match the wedding colour scheme. The food was delicious and there were lots of clean plates until the puddings which were far to big even for our greedy bellies! We were very well looked after and made to feel at home even in the current strange times we are living in. Thank you twenty5, you made our special bride and groom very happy! We'll be back :)

Where do I start. From the moment I contacted @twenty5 about having our reception there they could not have done more to help.Tina and the staff went above and beyond, from the decoration to the food and drink, it made our day feel even more special. Tina made me feel like nothing was too much and kept in contact through out the planning. Making the planning very stressfree. From the moment we entered, the staff were very attentive with drinks (we had the upstairs to ourselves) guests felt very relaxed with staff making sure there were no empty glasses. We had a few children who got hungry before the food was due, we asked for some snacks and they brought up food straight away no bother. Once we were ready to sit down, everyone was impressed by portion sizes. They didn't make us feel rushed to move on to the next course. Also making sure everyone had what they needed/wanted. We didn't give an end time but didn't feel pressured to hurry up. It was such a special day and we are so thankful to Tina and her team for everything. Great venue for a small reception with great staff and food. Thank you!!!

Wow what can I say amazing lunch with an old school friend yesterday. My friend ordered the pork steaks and I ordered the chicken schnitzel and we were not disappointed. Vegetables were not to our choice but were still full of flavour. I did inform the waitress and she did inform us that there was other options regarding vegetables. So back I go tomorrow evening for hubby birthday!!!! Excellent service compliments to the chef!!! Good choice of red wine too!!! Many Thanks.

A first-class evening from start to finish for my wife’s birthday. Twenty5 kindly accommodated a request I made and provided superb customer service throughout our visit.The pate and toast starter was very tasty and really good value for the portion size, and the burger main course was cooked to perfection.A nice feature was that outdoor heating was individual to each table and could be controlled by visitors, so if you feel the cold switch it on and if you don’t, don’t! We will certainly return.

What a lovely restaurant! Family run with care which is apparent in all the little touches throughout the experience. The owners are so present and hard working. As for the food - delicious! Had another perfectly cooked steak. Generous portions, served beautifully. Gorgeous selection of homemade desserts, I would return for the Nutella Cheesecake in a heartbeat! Had a delicious lunch here yesterday....the halloumi fries starter were lovely as was the pork main course. All 4 of our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals...compliments to the chef!

We ate here last night, Thursday. They were still offering the Eat Out To Help Out discount. We were welcomed warmly, sat upstairs by the window. We had starters of Haloimi and Calamari and mains, my husband had the sirloin steak and gave it 10/10 it came with chips, salad and a steak sauce. I had the crispy pork belly with mash which was also delicious. Food was well presented. Bottle tap water was nicely chilled. Staff are friendly and polite and can’t do enough for you without being too much. Just the right amount of time was left between bringing out the different courses. Of course we will return!

We visited for the first time ever for our first date night since our baby was born a few weeks ago. We were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality, and offered a table opposite the open kitchen to accommodate our pushchair. COVID measures were in place but unobtrusive, and all staff we spoke to were incredibly friendly. With the restaurant offering the Eat Out discount into September, we decided to treat ourselves to three courses and a bottle of wine, and had the calamari and grilled prawns to start, followed by the mixed grill, and tiramisu and Biscoff cheesecake for dessert. The food was delicious, served quickly and presented well. I particularly enjoyed the way the calamari was done - lightly coated and fried, and served as a whole squid body rather than cut into onion-ring shapes like most places do. It was tasty and light because of the smaller coating of batter, rather than stodgy! The mixed grill was cooked perfectly, with an excellent selection of quality meats and delicious hand cut chips (you could tell by their shapes!). Desserts were equally good (the tiramisu was huge!) and we were even given the bottle of wine on the house as a congratulations on our new arrival. I’ve been meaning to visit for years but never got round to it, pleased it has changed hands as it seems to have gone from strength to strength based on friends’ experiences. I won’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others and we’ll definitely be returning (probably without the baby so we can enjoy a leisurely dinner in peace!).

Everything that you would hope from a meal out is exactly what you get here. We are so glad that they are open again after Covid. The visible precautions in place make you feel safe and everything has been carefully considered.The level of service is exactly right. It is genuine and friendly every time. The menu has a good combination of classics and also options with a slight twist.We have eaten here enough to know that they never disappoint with flavour combinations. Recently for a starter I had crab in a lemon mayonnaise with grilled pineapple - it was delicious!The tiramisu is the nicest I have ever tasted but be warned, you get a large portion!My husband and I love this place, we recommend it to everyone and we visit as often as possible.

Had an absolute lovely evening at the grill @ twenty5 :) the staff were so welcoming, smiling through there visors, hand gel was used and supplied, the toilets were checked and cleaned numerous times whilst we were there. Also cleaning the banisters etc. I felt very safe with the hygiene standards they are putting into there routine. We went to The Grill at Twenty5 for dinner on Saturday evening. We hadn't booked but tables were available until 7pm and as we were heading to the Corn Exchange for that time, we were warmly welcomed and seated upstairs.We didn't go for starters, my partner had a steak (cooked to perfection) with a side order of (huge!) onion rings and I went for the pork belly which was delicious.We didn't try a dessert as the mains were so filling and the bill, which included a beer each, was very reasonable. Been here a couple of months ago and was amazing this time very poor. Had to find our own way to a table although pre booked then long waits between drinks starter and main meal due to only 1 front of house member. Starter was average and mains partner ordered lamb but they had no mint sauce and the vegetables were supposed to be minted and weren't. I say vegetables only 4 stems broccoli very disappointed. Only plus point was free drink for such a long wait but overall very disappointing

Firstly was greeted in a friendly manner for dinner service on a Friday night at 19.30. We were seated upstairs, note to self don’t sit near the window it has a draft as is an old building and was pretty cold, the food was amazing, it surpassed expectations.The starters arrived promptly and service continued to be consistent until the desserts, we chose 2 desserts only to be told 20 minutes later they didn’t have one available, then when the 1 dessert we chose to still have finally arrived it came without cream even tho stated on the menu “lemon Tart + Cream”. Apart from this small mishap we enjoyed the food and would recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Came for lunch today for some lunch. I was introduced with a very warm welcome. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing because of its rustic yet modern look. When I sat down I instantly got served by a lovely young chap called William. To start I ordered a squid which got My taste buds going. For the main I had a delicious grilled chicken sandwich with a lovely salad on the side. The service was top notch and attentive.
