Went here for the first time and have to say we will definitely be going back! From the moment we walked in and the staff member knowing my name I knew we had come to the right place. Food, service and atmosphere was spot on. If you want a good quality meal in a discreet setting then give this place a go.

I was reluctant to come back to the grill at 25 after a horrible experience at the old venue slightly down the road- I know many people love that Jordan Ramsey-esque open kitchen buzz, I however do not. We were seated there also were an elderly couple who seemed equally as mortified as we were as the waitresses moaned and the chefs screamed at each other, it was impossible to ignore the underbelly of what goes on at restaurants when your seated this close! (All restaurants will be the same I’m sure- but we had front row seats!) It spoiled the evening! I don’t even remember the food I was just so agog at how many times I heard the C word! Last night was much better, the food was simple cooked great, the waitresses were all lovely and chatty and told us about her uni course- desserts were amazing and there was a lovely vibe- if I wrote this review a while back it would of had a one star today I felt it was a 4 star, 4.5 if I could- You’ve won me back over grill twenty5, we will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely evening

The New location (3 Doors Down) is much better, with a warm and welcoming bar area to meet up and enjoy a fine drink whilst waiting, food is as good as ever, super friendly staff, an all round enjoyable experience!

Amazing customer service, staff are so kind, considerate and friendly. Food was tasty too.

We got the tomahawk steak, which was unbelievable and well worth £57 as it fed 2 of us. The chips were a bit fat for me, but the quality of the food was undoubted. Service and atmosphere were also good. Would definitely go back there if we went back to Ipswich

Fantastic food, we had mixed grills and the quality was great, alterations requests were easily dealt with. Great service and definitely with a smile. Cocktail was delicious. 100% be returning.

We had a fabulous experience at Twenty5 today. It was a football day as well, so very busy. I have several intollerances but I have to say when Gavin found out that nothing on the menu would suit me he worked very hard to sort me out a meal. He came to see me several times, I was going to have my trusty biscuits but he cooked me some gluten free chips and steak on its own and free from everything. I can't thank him enough and will be coming back - hopefully when I may have less intollerances to deal with. 5 stars for everyone.

Visited 7th Sept for evening meal with friends .Went on recommendation, certainly didn’t disappoint , great service, delicious food ,shout out to the chef …perfectly cooked steak , delicious short ribs, beautifully presented and piping hot ! The young man serving was excellent at his job ! Take a visit you won’t be disappointed!

Oh my goodness, what an amazing place. The service was exceptional. They looked after us so very well. Tina and her team certainly know how to look after customers. The food was cooked to perfection. I asked for a cocktail not on the menu, and it wasn't a problem at all. When it came, it was like they had always made it, despite it being their first time. We met all the staff throughout the evening, and they shared their precious time with us. I look forward to going back again soon.

The dinner menu is mainly focussed on steak dishes and burgers with a few additions (curry, salads, risotto, chicken and pork) but the quality of food is superb. The courtyard at the rear of the restaurant is ideal for an outdoor experience on a warm summer evening with the highlight being a beautiful well established rhododendrum bush which is in full bloom at this time of year. We dined as a family celebrating my parents 62nd wedding anniversary and I have to say the service was beyond excellent. Tina the owner was friendly, attentive and simply wonderful and turned a good night into a great night even offering us a few cuttings from her garden as we we were leaving.

What a great find... Was working in Ipswich and the area is completely unknown to me. A quick look online for local steakhouses lead me to Twenty5. The service was fantastic.. and the staff were super welcoming. I asked for an off menu cocktail but unfortunately unable to make it due to lack of ingredients, but just the willingness to try was super appreciated. They made an alternative suggestion of an old fashioned, which I do love anyway so no complaints. I had the lamb kofta to start and the were very nice, served with some greens and a cooling yoghurt sauce.. a solid start. I opted for the T-bone, which came with proper hand cooked chips and a lovely pepper sauce. I asked for the steak medium and it came a touch under at med-rare, but it was delicious so no real issue tbh. The bill total was £41 which for a cocktail, starter and steak is pretty good value. I'll definitely return when I'm next in the area and I'd happily recommend Twenty5 to anyone.

We arranged to have our wedding meal here. It was hard work because neither of us are from Ipswich or live there, but circumstances led to us getting married there. Communication was a little stilted on the run up, however they absolutely smashed it out of the park on the day. Not only did they make absolutely flawless food (which included the biggest and best cooked steaks I have ever tasted), the staff were amazing. The atmosphere was great. They decorated without any instructions and it was beautiful. They made such an effort, their organisation of food and drinks was brilliant. The staff were so attentive. We will definitely be making a trip back.

We were really impressed with this restaurant. The two immediate things we noticed were the very warm welcome and the beautiful courtyard setting. We had comfortable seating and an attractive table set with flowers. The menu was enticing. We had starters and mains but were so full that we couldn’t manage dessert however as our hostess knew there was a birthday, she came out with a dessert with a candle in and we all sang happy birthday, which was lovely. Our food was very nice, great steaks and burgers and also fish, chicken, risotto, vegetarian and vegan, something for everyone. The wine list wasn’t huge but had just what I wanted, a Prosecco to start then some NZ Sauvignon blanc, both good. We were all going to have a coffee but after our hostess brought out her treasure chest of fancy teas, three of us chose from that. There is a car park seconds away across the road. The road is one of the nicest in Ipswich, with lovely old buildings, half way between town and the Waterfront and walkable from both. We went on a Monday evening, a less busy time, which was nice because our hostess had time to chat to us and we enjoyed this. As the sun set the courtyard changed, prettily lit with fairy lights. We left wondering why we had never been to this gem before. Highly recommended, we will return.

Last night 8 of us went to Grill at Twenty5 for a Retirement meal and we were made to feel very special from the moment we arrived. The Staff are lovely. Will our waiter was Hilarious and the owner couldn't have done more for us! Thank you so much for making our evening a Special one! Nicki

What a change from the previous evening's experience. My partner and I had a lovely meal in the courtyard. Freshly prepared and served promptly, lovely wine to enjoy with the meal. All so normal, all so memorable. Thank you to the chef and staff for restoring our confidence and enjoyment in the Ipswich restaurant trade

Went in on bank holiday Monday, we had a table of seven booked but no staff had turned up for their shift (bad news you would think). However the chef had turned up and he seated us took our orders made us cocktails then cooked the food and served it. Proper one man band! I had the ribeye it was over weight and cooked just the way i like it medium rare. Chef deserves a medal as for the staff that didn't show up that day they should be keel hauled!x

Meal was absolutely delicious, my husband and I had 3 courses each and every one was faultless, as we're the very friendly, attentive waiting staff and the chefs. Couldn't fault anything.

Went here for a meal before going to the theatre and can't praise it highly enough. Service is excellent, and food was top-notch . I had the pork chop and chocolate orange cheesecake . My wife had the chicken supreme and biscoff cheesecake .Well done 👏

We came here for a meal before heading off to see a comedian & the food was amazing. Both our steaks were cooked to perfection & we shared some Biscoff cheesecake which was sooooo good, the bottle of wine was very good too & all for a very reasonable price. Staff were attentive without being in your face & the service was quick but we didn't feel like they rushed us. Will 100% be back again.

I had dinner at Twenty5 on 27th Jan - a table for two at 6.30pm booked on the same day. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding. This is such a friendly restaurant - a favourite that I would highly recommend and return to over and over again. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Something has gone terrible wrong, The menu is half the size of the one they show on the website. Although the staff were polite and helpful the overall service was terrible. The starters were OK but nothing special, we then waited over an hour for our mains which arrived either burnt,dry or under cooked. I ordered the sirloin steak, ( lamb shank, pork loin, stuffed chicken, linguine) have all been removed from the menu they show on their website. I ask for medium rare, no salad. It arrived very well done with a side salad and the triple cooked chips hadn't been cooked properly once. A real shame as the menu looked great and the restaurant came recommended. They didn't charge us for anything but we would rather have had a great evening out.

Came here for my partners birthday, the food and staff were amazing, would highly recommend, we had beef short rib and the specials(Nashville chicken burger) which we HAD to leave empty plates for, we even got a birthday ballon which we was not expecting at all

Delicious food and excellent attentive service. We had meal for 17 for an 80th birthday celebration and were immediately put at ease by the helpful and friendly owner and staff who decorated the area for us with the bits we had bought. They operate a great system to enable everyone to pay for their own drinks and meals which worked faultlessly and avoided the awkward moment when you have to try and divide the bill up. Tomahawk steak was lush btw

We ate our dinner in our coats as we were frozen. No heating on in December! The service was ok but the food was awful. The fish was over cooked and didn’t taste fresh. Very disappointing experience as was expecting so much better. Over priced rubbish.

Quite a puzzling visit after reading all the good reviews. The welcome and the staff were very friendly and attentive, service was fast and the food fresh and hot. However, it seemed to us that there was a lack of passion in terms of aesthetics and flavours. We both had the roast veg tart served with sautéed potatoes and fine beans and it was exactly that - nothing else, dry. We had to ask for some mayo and garlic butter to jazz it up a bit and then it was probably on par with a lunch you might get in a cafe at a gallery or nature reserve. When charging £15 - £25 for a main there needs to be a little bit of imagination and craft - even more so with vegetarian dishes. Butter, oil, herbs, spices, balsamic, garlic, salsa verde, dijon etc are all really good and simple ways to make an otherwise bland meal of fresh ingredients delicious. The decor of the place is approached in much the same manner. We don't like going to chain eateries but at least most make an effort with atmosphere, aesthetics and flavour. In short: If you're happy with hunks of steak and don't care about the rest then these guys will sort you out in a friendly and efficient manner - if you're expecting to be able to deviate from the meat dishes and still have your tastebuds tickled then I'd go somewhere else.

I was in a big party and I think too big to serve so a lot was late and done food really good, some not so. Its probably fine for groups of upto 4 people. Staff were polite. My food was good, the squid was cooked properly.

The team at Grill are amazing. So friendly and attentive, they were really welcoming. The food was awesome, all came out on time and really hot. Can't praise this place enough. 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food was tasty, but the lunch service was very slow, with only one other table occupied. We only had main and a coffee and we were there for 2 hours.

Not that impressed at all - I’ll keep it short and sweet Special cocktails not available even though on the board as you walk in First wine choice not available Staff very inexperienced unfortunately The main issue though was the 35oz Tomahawk Steak - absolutely 0 flavour - was completely shocked that it offered nothing Starters were just some deep fried offerings without much thought as all had the same salad dumped on the plate without any imagination Ever we were unlucky or people just don’t know what decent food and service is anymore

All the other reviews that I have read have been glowing. It must have been a bad day at the office for them when I went! I had fish and chips ( overcooked), with green beans ( seriously undercooked). Fair play I did say that my meal was unpleasant and they didn't charge me for it (I left a lot of it) . The biscotti cheesecake was lovely though.

We called close to closing and asked if they could squeeze us in and they were very accommodating. Lovely outdoor area as well as a beautiful upstairs full of character. We both ordered a burger and shared a bottle of Malbec. Both burgers were absolutely delicious & the homemade chips & onion rings served with them were exceptional. We will definitely be making a reservation in advance if we come back to the area.

This is the first time we have returned since the establishment was taken over and although the food was good being seated close to the Kitchen was not. Listening to the two chefs swearing was so unprofessional and left me angry after my visit, won't be returning.

Had the prawns to start . We're very dry as no sauce especially with the dry ciabatta. Mains was mixed grill egg was overcooked steak was unchewable but the chips were lovely. Creme brullee was fridge cold bur tasted nice.

So happy that we found this restaurant. I cannot recommend it enough to people. It is a small family run restaurant. The welcome and service is lovely. Staff are all professional and excellent at their job. The food is exceptional. The great chef produced tasty, mouthwatering fresh seasonal food to an exceptional standard. We particularly enjoyed the scrumptious home made deserts. Portion sizes are more than enough. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. I would highly recommend a visit - you won’t be disappointed!

Brilliant restaurant - amazing food, service and atmosphere. We were a large group of around 25 and the team were so attentive, even allowing us to stay and have a bit of a private party! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to smaller groups also as the food was excellent.

What a little Gem within lots of mediocre restaurants in Ipswich. Mum and son run this small two floor restaurant. From the start they were so accommodating We had booked a table which was upstairs by a large party of ladies celebrating 40th. The were happy and very loud. The manager immediately came to ask if we were ok and found us a quiet table downstairs which was great. Our wine choice wasn't available but Michael (server) said we could have the 2 of following wines for the same price as our choice. I wanted liver, bacon and mash but because I cannot eat butter the chef (owner with mum) made some without butter. The scallops for starter were perfectly cooked, as were the hot garlic oil prawns. I then had perfect liver, just pink in the middle with lots of bacon,mash and gravy. My partner had large med rare steak and homemade chips. We got chatting to Michael, his wife who happened to be there and mum owner. It is really is a great place, dishes well presented, super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend you try it as it is something for everyone one the menu but not to big.

Went for a friend's 18th birthday meal. Quick and attentive service. Friendly and welcoming staff. Halloumi fries for starters were lovely. Smoked cheese burger for main, chips were lovely and the homemade coleslaw was amazing. Beautiful building. Would recommend for anyone that's looking for somewhere new to try. Will definitely be bringing my partner along for a meal soon.

We just enjoyed a Valentine's Day meal here and we came home so satisfied, I thought I had to leave a review! From the start, the front of house lady gave us a very warm welcome when showing us to our table and this continued throughout the evening with all the waiting staff being very helpful. Secondly, the food was absolutely delicious! I had the lamb shank and my partner the pork belly. Both dishes were really well cooked and the portions were huge. We barely had enough room for pudding but decided to share one. Not being able to decide on one option, the lady kindly offered us the apple tart with a slice of the cheesecake on the side so we could try two (they were both delicious). All in all, we really enjoyed tonight's meal: the food was fantastic, the atmosphere in the restaurant very warm and welcoming, and it was very reasonably-priced too. Thank you to everyone in the restaurant for making it such a lovely evening.

Me and my girlfriend came here for a little date as we absolutely love the decor and atmosphere, the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable and were always there to accommodate us and refill our drinks at a moments notice. We both ordered...

There menu is too big that’s why a lot of the party’s meal were not very good as they couldn’t cope with it. I had a short drink there that didn’t taste of alcohol!

We shared the chefs special Tomahawk Steak and I can honestly say it was up there with the best I've ever had. Considering it was approx 2" thick 😳 it was perfectly cooked (medium/rare) and tasted fantastic. Came with a generous serving of fries, onion ring, salad, coleslaw and a choose of sauces (we had peppercorn). Lovely staff, very friendly.

Had a lovely meal here pre-match. The food was amazing some of the portions were a bit on the small side i.e linguine and the gnocchi, but the service was exceptional! Nothing was too much trouble. I am sure if we had said the portion size was on the smaller side this would have been rectified. On the whole, very welcoming and I would visit again.

Had a wonderful Christmas evening and meal at the Grill. Staff were very attentive and helpful with a smile. All of the party couldn’t fault their meals. We would definitely recommend and will be back.

Food excellent but not massive portions

This was our works Christmas meal and Very unusually for December we sat outside in a gazebo. There were heaters and blankets provided but it was absolutely freezing, not what I was expecting at all. The food was ok but not very big portions. They kept running out of various drinks and we had to accept alternatives. Not everyone in our party got what they had ordered in advance and had to wait while it was corrected. All in all a very unsatisfactory experience and I definitely won’t be going back.

Exceptional food and service. Group of 3 of us booked, l had pate (beautifully presented and delicious), sirloin steak and proper homemade chips (perfectly cooked) with a lovely peppercorn sauce, and Biscoff cheesecake. That was the biggest slice of cheesecake l have ever seen, utterly delicious ! The team work brilliantly together, highly recommended !!

I booked my sisters hen do here and the team could not have been more helpful in making it a special occasion. Food was brilliant and nothing too much to ask. We will definitely be back!
