The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

I’ve had lunch here & often stop for coffee to take out. I found the staff to be friendly & the food good. However, I’ve had coffee to go a couple of times now, served by the same person who was very nice but realised when it was too late that I didn’t have a full carton to start with. I don’t like being ripped off!

I visit this store frequently as I live in the area and have always had a good experience for many years but last evening, 28th, I bought a few jellycat purchases for family that were Christmas presents and got outed by the shop assistant as I approached the till with them…..oh here she comes with her expensive teddies…..I laughed it off at first….and said they were gifts for my niece who collects them…..then the lady was laughing and discussing my purchases loudly with her colleague…..”oh only a small gift” I actually found it extremely rude……and actually none of her business what I was purchasing……I was polite but furious as I left the store…..who are you to criticise me for spending money in your shop? Would you speak loudly like that about someone who had bought a load of plants?? I was disgusted and really annoyed!! Not the stores fault but her and her colleague should learn some manners! It’s put me off coming back!! I was in there at around 3-4pm……learn some respect! Not impressed…..!

Amazing New Tables and bar stools, The plough is one of the few remaining Locals, has amazing Staff, the best Landlady, cheap drinks and free pool on Mondays, (that the Ball and Cue type, don't turn up in your trunks like I did, very embarrassing! lol) Over all a great friendly place and always a joy to visit.

Done such a fantastic job on revamping the garden centre and restaurant. Such a shame the food was terrible! My wife had what was supposed to be Chicken schnitzel which was on the special board. The first one was so tough it was overcooked and couldn’t cut it. This was replaced with a second one and was told by the waitress they are all like that! I had a cheese and onion omelet which had been burnt on one side and was presented inside out to hide the burnt base. A lady who worked there named Heather, came and asked us if we enjoy our meal and thought we were joking when we said it was awful. She apologised and asked us if we would like a piece of cake or a refill of our drinks which we declined.

Visited for coffee with our grandchildren. Ordered two latte coffees after twenty minutes told coffee machine not working given two instant coffees no refund. Place filthy litter on floor table dirty. Service awful

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch as we were having a boat trip on the Wavely. Found this place. Well the first thing that greeted you was the smell of chip fat. We did not know the area and time was short, we went in and ordered two jacket potatoes (good quality potatoes however Luke warm on arrival, I also ordered a tea and a black coffee with milk on the side(a simple enough drink), however when it came it was a shot of coffee and a jug of milk I took it back and asked for it to be filled up with HOT water, this again was tepid. by now I had given up. (I will give the girl the benefit of the doubt with Black coffee) perhaps I should have said Americano. Last but not least I asked how much the cake cost (which looked as if it had been in the display containers for a long time) by the time it was passed to three of the youngsters (from me to you a bit like the Chuckle Brothers)!! I gave up. A place I certainly would not recommend.

Llevé a mi tía mayor allí para cenar porque creía que era elegante. El servicio era pésimo, nos despreciaban la comida horrible y extremadamente caro y el rudo camarero cuando me pedí un menú vegetariana. No vale la pena una visita. Puede conseguir un mejor servicio en McDonald's pero bueno este hotel es propiedad de McDonald's aparentemente.

Oh what an incredible evening, have driven past the pub so many times on our frequent weekends in Norfolk, but had never been in before, we went last night with 3 other couples, what a brilliant place, the staff, the food and the atmosphere was brilliant, now my number one pub to go to, “Dave the landlady is so lovely!! Even if she has eaten a few to many pies recently, not really it was just a bit of banter on the evening, brilliant guys keep up the good work, we will be back in a few weeks if you’ll have again 🙏❤️👍

Iba a desayunar aquí. La comida era muy promedio, pero se sirve rápidamente. Como anteriormente el cocinero no tiene ni idea de cómo hacer un buen huevo frito. Es cierto que yo también, pero no es mi trabajo. El ambiente es bastante desagradable con algunos reflejos hostiles de otros clientes sin razón aparente y una mezcla de tipos alborotados sin dientes. La empleada vestida de negro con el pelo castaño corto (posiblemente una limpiadora/coleccionista de vidrio) se presumió por el pub gritando ‘¡Nunca he visto a alguien que necesite salir del armario más que él!’ ¡a su colega detrás de la barra! Realmente no puedo recomendar

Very good, happy with the meal - Very nice! Service was great by Sarah - Tip given... Will come again. In all a successful Sunday Lunch.

A really nice pub. I am Gluten free and the young Chef (Harden) was so helpful and the lunch time meal freshly prepared GF fish finger sandwiches was really good. The others had great meals and the plates were clean. Gods food good beer.

Excellent great food and service , all had the trio of roasts and desserts, all really good, we will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!
