The College Arms in Peterborough

Iba a desayunar aquí. La comida era muy promedio, pero se sirve rápidamente. Como anteriormente el cocinero no tiene ni idea de cómo hacer un buen huevo frito. Es cierto que yo también, pero no es mi trabajo. El ambiente es bastante desagradable con algunos reflejos hostiles de otros clientes sin razón aparente y una mezcla de tipos alborotados sin dientes. La empleada vestida de negro con el pelo castaño corto (posiblemente una limpiadora/coleccionista de vidrio) se presumió por el pub gritando ‘¡Nunca he visto a alguien que necesite salir del armario más que él!’ ¡a su colega detrás de la barra! Realmente no puedo recomendar

Tables were a bit sticky, the food I liked were off the menu. I had a burger and it was nice also very filling! The waiters didn’t really talk or give a smile.

Excellent Wetherspoons. Very good servings of fish & chips served by lovely friendly staff who gave us a tour of the biggest pub I've ever been in!! Always great value.

Cheap drinks and fairly decent food. You get what you pay for and you won't pay a lot. I had a bacon cheeseburger, chips, onion rings and a drink for about a tenner.

A very large and busy Wetherspoons, one of two in Central Peterborough. Managed to get a table, as usual great prices, better than I expected for a city Centre location. Clean and tidy. A real mountain climb to the toilets, a real Wetherspoons!! 😄

It's a wratherspoons so cheap and cheerful

This is a great place for food and beer. Chicken wings, fish and chips are my favourite.

It's one of the many restaurants that let my fingers do the walking and talking. The only time the staff exists is when they bring your orders. Within 30 minutes, you are out of the restaurant. Feeling full and satisfied!

Steak was tough and certainly not rare! Very disappointing for a weatherspoon

Came in for my daughters 18th birthday drink, only the team leader who served her walked off to a colleague halfway through her saying our order, ended up doing the order wrong and obviously couldn't master a smile or acknowledge it's her actuall birthday. So bloody rude, with I chose somewhere where she would have been treated with basic customer care. Shame you you.

Pensé en visitarnos por unas copas nocturnas, ¡NUNCA MÁS! El servicio fue decepcionante y el personal fue grosero. Esperamos más de una hora para que nuestras bebidas se llevaran a la mesa. Fuimos al bar para que nos atendieran y eso tomó igual tiempo. Un sábado por la noche ocupado con alrededor de 2 / 3 bar personal. Las mesas estaban cubiertas de vasos vacíos, y la mitad comía comida. Entonces decidimos visitar para el desayuno de esta mañana pensando que sería mejor ya que era muy tranquilo... pero lo equivocado que estábamos. Nuestro desayuno estaba faltando artículos y tomó 20 minutos después de decirles esto hasta que trajeron el artículo faltante, para este momento habíamos terminado nuestra comida y solo queríamos salir de allí. ¡No volveremos a visitarlos!

Servicio impactante, nunca más, evitar a toda costa. El personal es el más rudo en cualquier pub en el que he estado. Nunca volvería.

Poor service, food took way longer than most spoons, especially as it was quiet during our visit. Then when the food did come they did not bring any cutlery, said they would, then we watched as the server went and had a chat at the bar for 5 minutes before deciding to bring our cutlery. Eggs were rubbery, beans and onion rings cold and black pudding burnt to a crisp but still some how cold. Overall a poor showing.

Service with a snile.. One of the larger pubs in Peterborough, service varies widely, ***Bar staff have a habit of serving SHORT measures & over charging, also they also expect you to pay extra for NOT having ice in your drink, if you let them get away with it***. If you order via their app, be prepared for a wait... Still chaotic my advice is to avoid at all costs.

Best beer 🍻 in town and amazing food

Surprisingly clean and beautiful pub, very lively too. New menu with the largest selection I've ever seen in pubs, even includes ramen and bbq's. Service is fast and food we tried super tasty. Free refills for hot drinks - £1.50 cup. Prices cheaper than mc Donald's.. Nice greenish outdoor area, perfect for summer evenings.

Usual great value wetherspoons and really close to the other one so a nice find to have 2 choices !

Food was cold. 1 order incorrect. 2 staff argued with us over the order even denying the dish was on the menu. Didn't relay order back. Even when second plate came out other food on plate was cold. Egg was cold and rubbery. Refused to accept responsibility. Dreadful, immature service.

Typical Weatherspoons with all the pros and cons that brings but less than £2 for a pint is frankly unheard of these days. And for that alone it doesn’t just get an up, it gets a golden up!

Absolutamente horrible en una noche de fiesta, mi amiga estaba atendiendo una llamada en un área privada con el personal de la puerta, se le permitió entrar después de 20 minutos de discusión con el personal de la puerta para que se le deje volver a entrar, finalmente se metió después de preguntar por el gerente varias veces y todavía no ver al gerente. La acompañaron a la mesa para asegurarse de que estaba con alguien. Absolutamente horrible. El personal de la puerta debe conocer las caras cuando salen o entran.

Been here many times and never disappointed, good service and selection, convenient smoking area and plenty of seating if needed

You can't go wrong with spoons, if your familiar you know the drill with this brand . Only shame is the early closing time but I guess that's a legal issue etc

Dropped by for lunch , had the fish and chips, it was good , nice crispy fish , although the peas was onky a small few.

Came in early morning had a latte and hot chocolate both were nice and machine was clean and cleaned properly. Could taste it, especially with a latte nice and frothy. Free refills is a bonus on the hot drinks. Nice clean table's staff friendly and there for any help needed. Will visit again nice atmosphere too.

absolutely a nightmare the supervisor rude and in professional. the way he spoke to us and my family is a joke. refused to change my food and exceptionally unprofessional. rude and a waste of your time going here. the glasses wasn’t clean and neither was the tables . absolutely disgusting and disrespectful to us. i do not recommend this place for the future

Ordered a 10oz gammon no mushrooms extra egg when food arrived no eggs but mushrooms told staff I ordered extra eggs no mushrooms. When the food arrived for the second time I had 3 eggs on the plate all OVER COOKED The so called CHIEF Should go back to MACDONALDS.

Haven't been in there since I was at college, not much has changed, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The food was hot and didn't cost the earth

Food was basic and small but you get what you pay for. We found one of the waitresses to be a bit rude especially to trainee staff. Food was ok but it's a weatherspoons

To far to walk to toilet but nice old building plenty of tables

Visited with a friend in a wheelchair and the main entrance had steps. There was wheelchair access through a fire escape but you had to ring a bell for access and inside the pub access was limited although the staff were quick to answer the bell it didn't seem very inclusive

It's ok. Cheap and cheerful. Drinks are cheap and the food but you get what you pay for. Service is normally ok. Loads of outdoor space. Inside is very space aswell. Good for a lunchtime fly by

Poor experience with food service. It was not very busy, but my food order took a lot longer than normal. After questioning a bar attendant, it arrived, nearly cold, I assume that it had been prepared and then forgotten.

Nice food for the price, not the best but you get what you pay for. Will do us now all day. Staff, very friendly. Can't beat weathers does the job

i rarely leave reviews, however.....this was one of the worst meals i have had in recent years, the blackpudding was like an icepuck, everything was overcooked, your suppose to prepair the food not nuke it into next week.

Simple, basic food but well made. Very affordable prices. Food was brought very quickly after ordering. Lovely outdoor area !

First visit here, had a nice lunch. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will return next time we are visiting the area.

Cheap but boring no music no sound on tvs

Had to re review, place pretty empty , then only one at the bar and 6 staff behind the bar, all see you and ignore you??? Then looks like a manager can see I’m not happy and sends someone over to serve me, maybe this place could do with new staff, clearly don’t want a job or don’t want to do the job they are paid for

Exciting in that we watched an arrest right in front of us, the perp had just run past us within feet.

Breakfast was good decent food staff bit hit and miss some are lovely some think there above you.the toilets are not cleaned regularly puddles of water left toilets blocked not tissue in some but it is a cheap and cheerful place to grab some pub grub

Don't let my star count mask what is a really good place. Fact is, the food is not gourmet, but I really like it for the price. Can easily eat and have a beer for under £10. Service is quick and food is always served hot. During the week, it's nice little hang out, inside or in the back which is outside, with a nice little smoking area. Fridays and Saturdays become a bit rowdy. Go here 2-3 times a week. Recommended.

Seats weren't cleaned and table was barely acceptable. Steak was awful. Almost inedible. Tough and sinewy and it was steak noght apparantly. Chips were microwaved. Actually, it was pretty grim. Service was terrible. Rice served instead of chips with curry. Naan bread like shoe leather. Sent it back. 3 of the 5 real ales were off. Cleaning pumps. That should be done before opening? Lastly peosecvo glass given was filthy. Staff were as usual not that bothered. If it wasn't cheap it would be out of business. Nobody checked for allergies or if we had any issues. I'm rather glad they didn't. Bad experience. The sister pub The Drapers can't be this bad can it?

Food ( fish) was swimming in oil. Twice run out of requested cider. Place not clean or dirty. Most of the mayo or ketchup are empty.

Thought we’d have a coffee at The College Arms. Just getting in the pub was an adventure, literally. A few feet from the door a young lady with few teeth was having an argument with a man of similar age and dental problems. She was repeatedly questioning his parentage with increasing annoyance. Apparently, he did have a father after all and wanted her to ‘go away’. At least, that’s how I interpreted the actual phrase he used. We finally entered the pub once we bypassed the staff on the door chuckling at what was going on outside. The pub was busy, tables were at a premium. A standard Wetherspoons afternoon. We’d be in the minority in that we only wanted a coffee. The machines were easily accessed, and the drinks were poured swiftly. The College Arms is a nice enough City Centre pub. We didn’t eat, so couldn’t pass judgement. However, if you want a fairly standard Wetherspoons just like any other, then this is for you. Just hope that there isn’t a sideshow outside…

Terrible ,I had a buttermilk burger with 14 chips ,yes 14,chips were cold.The reason I didn't complain was firstly when I ordered our food mine was as above ,my wife wanted hunters chicken,I told the bar staff that she had got the order wrong,but she insisted she had it right,I knew it was wrong because the bill should have been over £20 instead it was £17,after 10minuites a member of staff came to our table and said she was concerned about our order and changed it to what I asked for,we waited about 15minuites and when it arrived we had limited time to eat it as we were going to the New Theatre to see a show. In conclusion we use wetherspoons a lot and this so called meal was not only a waste of money but a disgrace.,

Male bar staff needs some customer service training food was below average burnt burger bun ,fried egg was very poor only good point was the 2 female staff member that served us in a lot more professional manner.

Best place to get cheap food and drinks in Peterborough, however the atmosphere isnt the best due to noise levels and fights, and the service is quick but not the best.

The pub had different daily specials that included alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to compliment your meal. I went with two of my coworkers. We had heard great things about it while checking out the area. The fish and chips were pretty tasty, right temperature, not too much of a fish taste, and the fries were nice and crisp. It was my first time trying mushy peas which were an absolute delight. My only concern was when I ordered at the bar, the bartender had an issue with me paying cash. She made a whole ordeal about the GBP that I had, she called the manager and said they can’t take it. Luckily, I had my credit card on me. But very awkward and slightly embarrassing to essentially be told your cash isn’t good here.

Sirloin steak had 3 lots of grizle in it...Rest of meal OK...never issue on Rump steak but opted because of extras ....rather pay extra to Rump next time!!!

Our favorite Spoons in Peterborough, they are all good, never had a complaint.

So on this occasion when ordering a drink and handing the bar lady £10 for my drink, lady came back with incorrect change so i brought it to her attention, lady then insisted I had given her £5 which was incorrect as I didn't have a £5 note to start with. This particular member of staff needs to take more attention to her service. 11:55.

It's a Spoons- it's okay. Odd rules outside about smoking which are pretty unnecessary. Staff seem quite overwhelmed with glasses piling up everywhere. Other than that it's fine.

Always a regular stop off before a Posh match when visiting Peterborough. As Spoons go on this ocassion it was spot on. A busy Saturday lunch time but all drinks and four meals were delivered promptly, hot and with a service and a smile. The sign of a good management. Some other venues could take some tips from this team.
