Extensive refurbishment since the business was taken over and restaurant is now more modern and efficient. It is still changing as they learn from experience as to what works best - which is fine and does show they are willing to adapt. We call in occasionally as it is local to us. Good selection of snacks and the cooked food is always very well done and seems cooked to order rather than sitting on hotplates as in some similar venues. What stops us using the place more often is that the coffee is not great, specifically not very strong. I'm aware this is a matter of taste but the coffee (best example is their flat white) often doesn't taste very much of coffee, just hot water and milk - they need to look at the settings they use I think. Four stars for their food but only one or two stars for their coffee (which is at least nice and hot),

Have been going to Nuyard/Flitvale for the past month or so because the quality of the fruit and veg is much much much better than what Tesco had been selling for the last couple of months I shopped there

My review is solely about the florist on-site. I rang to order flowers after a bereavement and asked for the medium £30, florist choice. I added a box and the woman took my card details. I checked what the total was and she said £42.95. I advised that I'd asked for the £30 bunch, plus the box should have been £32.95! The woman had decided to added an additional £10 to my order- without asking me! I asked her to refund it- as I'd planned to spend under £35. She refused, and said she couldn't reverse a charge on her machine! She then went into a rant about how the 'cheap' bunch I'd chosen would be all greenery due to the cost of flowers, and it would have looked awful! I asked her again to refund it and pointed out that I'd chosen their medium bunch- not the smallest one they sold. She again refused to refund the extra £10 she'd charged me. I'm told that the flowers that arrived were nice. The florist have recently increased their prices, but taking additional money without consent and then refusing a refund was completely illegal. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Went for Sunday roast. Arrived at 1.05pm and the roast beef was sold out (roast dinner starts ar noon). My wife ordered roast pork and I ordered a pork loin steak. After 35 minutes (at 1.45) I asked where our meals were (after seeing people that arrived after us being served roast dinners) I was told that it takes longer to cook the loin steak. I waited another 15 minutes and went to enquire after our meals again. 5 minutes later my loin steak arrived and 5 minutes after that my wife's dinner arrived, NOT roast pork but a pork chop. I spoke to the manager who told me that they had run out of roast pork (even though people that had arrived after us had been served roast pork ). I expressed my dissatisfaction with this and informed the manager that we would not be eating either meal. I received a refund and apology (as they were very busy!)

Booked a visit on Monday 20th at 12pm. When we got there they hadn’t reserved a table as they ‘weren’t expecting us’. After double checking we were seated at another reserved table. Although pre ordered they didn’t know what we’d ordered. It was a little disorganised. However, saying that the food was hot, plentiful and delicious.

We have been to this cafe many times before, but not since the refurbishment. We were served promptly and efficiently and I was delighted to find the food was as tasty and plentiful as in the past. The recent bad reviews had made me slightly anxious about returning to Flitvale, but there was absolutely no reason to worry. The salad was as fresh and pleasant as in the past and there was a good selection of dishes and cakes particularly.

Terrible. Waited half hour after being shown our seats for breakfast only for it tobeleft on the serving hatch under a heat lamp for 7 to 8 minutes before it wasbrought over to us.,My wife unwrapped her pack of butter only to find it poured over the table like water as it had been left so long under the heat lamp. Very poor menu very overpriced no snacks likebeans on toast burgers etc for gods sake its only a garden centre not the Ritz. Horrible bland decor like sitting in a works canteen. The prices are ridiculously high £4.90 for a slice of cake or scone. Have gone back to Poplars down the road...more choice and better value. Whoever at Flitvale had the big idea to change things has got it horribly wrong and should be ashamed of themselves. We wont be coming here again. You cant treat customers like idiots

Newly refurbished garden centre and restaurant not to my taste. It now resembles a warehouse. You enter through the 'farm shop' which is now a few bits of fruit and veg and then very expensive prepacked stuff at exorbitant prices. Like entering Tesco's. Feels very clinical, it used to feel warm and welcoming. The restaurant refurbishment is unfortunately even worse. There is no longer any atmosphere, it is stark and bland. The menu is pitiful and very limited. Gone are the lovely 'home cooked' meals and in their place things like Halloumi and courgette cake (main meal)!!!! Breakfast used to be served all day now stops at 11.30. I will not be going back and I think others feel the same. It used to be full, went at 1pm today (Sunday) only 2 other tables occupied when we arrived and 3 when we left. Tried to go upmarket and have failed big time. So disappointed used to love it here came every week and looked forward to it, such a shame

Used to eat here regularly and particularly enjoyed the homemade ‘gravy’ meals. The new menu is very limited and comes with huge price increases. The regular standard dishes like sausages, egg and chips and cod and chips etc have all gone and been replaced with more fancy costly meals like ribeye steak for £15 and Halloumi cake for £9. An apple turnover or Eccles cake is a whopping £4.90! Didn’t think I’d ever say it, but Poplars offer more choice and their cakes are less expensive so we'll go there in future. Flitvale have outpriced themselves and will probably lose lots of their loyal customers.

Fab shop if you don't mind being spoken to like a small child by an aggressive, bad tempered member of staff who clearly didn't want to be there! The chappy at the door was incredibly friendly, but the sales assistant that served us was rude and aggressive. I have emailed the store about my experience, but they haven't bothered replying. It's a shame as it's a lovely garden centre, particularly since it's makeover, but I will not be returning.

Been here a couple of times before but this was the worst. Came here as happened to be in Biggleswade on business Overpriced completely for breakfasts and not allowed any breakfast swaps and wants to charge £1.50 for anything extra… waiter, in between being on his laptop with headphones, was trying to upsell and even at one point congratulated himself on being a great salesman!! You are not :-( Food quality not good and for £7 elsewhere I also get toast and a hot drink and good quality food. So wasted £21 and your milk was on the turn too!

The Gary Cooper is a modern building with an open plan interior, plenty of seating and an outlook onto Grove Park. We popped in for breakfast with family on a bleak winter Sunday morning and have to say the food wasn’t great - they’d run out of hollandaise sauce for one of the eggs Benedict meals and so had to have a substitute meal, the other was lukewarm and the other two meals were nothing special - I guess you get what you pay for.
