The Garden Cafe in Tendring

Condsidering it says under new management but you still have Debbie working there who according to the A Board outside I am afraid thst the food was to say the least Poor We went it there ordered two tuna and cheese wraps and two pots of tea, The tea arrived I poured mine into my cup which I had already milked from a small jug and it curdled.We smelt the jug and it was sour. This was replaced with small milk packets then our supposed lunch of the two wraps came up. There was no Cheese half or even less than a small lettuce leaf a very small slice of tamato each 4 chrisps (not big ones) one slivver of red pepper. It cost £4 pounds each for just the meal which wasnt anything in any way enough to feed a cat a dinner let alone a person the wrap was super small Very dissappointed as I am a local resident I do not think your going to have many customers return again to eat there and indeed I wouldnt even have a cup of tea there again. Can the new managerment who ownes it do something to educate the cook there how to provide adequate and sufficient value for money to their customers. The young man who served us was untra polite a credit to the younger generation and was very obliging . I did not complai at the time even though I was asked by him was everything ok.

This was a delight to eat at and my cheese chips were yummy and the service was brilliant plus the workers were nice I recommend

Awful hardly any food on our plate and badly cooked, rude staff too and not very clean toilets such a shame really.

I have been to the cafe a few times. This time I visited with 3 other people. We were so disappointed with 3 of the meals. 2 of us ordered omelettes. This time we were given a pathetically small portion. My mushroom omelette was made with 1 egg judging by the size of it & it cost £8!! It looked lost on the plate. The other omelette was the same size. Overpriced & undersized. Sorry, but we shan’t be eating here again.

Worst breakfast I've had in years every thing cold and cheap so over priced for what you get I gave it benefit of the doubt went there second time biggest mistake has not changed please do NOT waste your money

Typical greasy spoon cafe situated in the shopping centre.Basic menu.Fry ups,Brunch,Jacket spuds,chips with everything.No wine or beer.Serves it's purpose. Otherwise nothing much else to recommend this place.

we waited ages to be asked for our order then waited ages for the drink then ages for our food. eventually getting it after an hour whilst others got theirs before us having arrived after. They just didn't seem to even care, I went in to complain and was told yes its coming and still had to wait. to top it all one of the orders was wrong! Beans were cold. Having worked in a cafe myself I would at least have offered a complimentary drink due to the wait

Since being under new management the Garden Cafe has got much better! Excellent service, lovely staff and the food is amazing. Would highly recommend.

Food always cooked fresh and tasty Staff friendly service always pretty fast and always remember you .

There really is nothing outstanding to write about this cafe, it is pretty basic and being the only one in the Triangle has the monopoly of the business. There is seating both inside and out. Fairly wide choice of food available, we had Panini and the filling of the Cheese and Tomato one was very skimpy, you could hardly taste the cheese, as for the salad on the side..why bother, it consisted of a small wedge of tomato, one slice of cucumber and a tiny amount of shredded lettuce. A knife with the fork would have been nice too, I didn't appreciate chasing the lettuce around the plate! On a plus side the cappuccino was nice and in a decent size mug. Service was ok if a little slow.

We both had Sunday lunch one pork and one beef both very nice and service was quick. After food had been delivered to table no one asked us how it was. Only issue was with coffee which was poor bit 1980s, maybe how they like it in Frinton. However, would recommend food and go back.

Lovely little cafe good food and the prices aren't to bad only came in for a snack was served at the counter very quickly and food turned up not to long after :)

Thought I'd give this cafe a try and I ordered the omelette. It came out and I was extremely disappointed. It tastes as if it's been heated up in a microwave and it's a child sized portion. I asked for a filling expecting it to be cut up and spread around the omelette instead it was slapped in the middle as if it was a sandwich. The prices are extortiate especially for the portions and quality my friends received as well myself. I won't be coming back and I'd recommend anyone to give the omelette a swerve and the cafe itself it's overpriced and there are much better options in the area. I also complained and got nothing back just an explanation there was no urgency to resolve the problem and gain customer satisfaction.

I am quick to complain and I feel that it is only fair to also give praise where due.I visited today and had beef and vegetable pie and mash,which was the special of the day.I must say that it was delicious and plentiful and I enjoyed it thoroughly.I shall have to keep a close eye on the daily special board outside as some of the dishes sound yummy.

Visited on a Friday just after noon, where the place was close to full. The menu is fairly standard with variety of breakfasts, sandwiches and jackets. There were a number of specials on chalk boards also. Simple ordering process of ordering at the counter and paying at the same time. Ordered 2 Big Breakfasts (£5.95) and paid an extra 75p for sautéed potatoes. The meals arrived after around 15 minutes. The quality of the produce was average to low end I’d say, however for the price it was expected. The sautéed potatoes hadn’t seen any butter as sautéed should and were simply frozen packaged sliced potatoes deep fried. The coffee was fine and adding an extra shot of coffee for 40p was just what I needed. All in all it’s a clean busy little cafe close to our doorstep. I would use again if feeling too lazy to cook :)

Our nearest eating place, so we are regular visitors. The prices are still very good and it is not much more expensive than cooking at home, without the prep and washing up. We enjoy the midweek specials which are just like Mum used to cook; Cottage / Shepherds Pie, Chicken or Steak & Kidney Pie/puddings, Toad in the Hole, etc Traditional desserts, syrup, Jam puddings & custard, Spotted Dick etc. Mondays and Saturdays the specials seem more unexciting so we would choose Chicken Korma, Rice & Chips and similar. Two main meals and two coffees well under £20.

Always a warm welcome here. Great food at great prices. No long waits for orders. A great place for a cooked meal or cake and a cuppa.

I just popped in for a coffee with a friend whilst shopping so can't comment on the meals but they certainly looked good!

No intentar dar una crítica sincera de lo contrario es inútil tener un desayuno completo inglés tenía esta mañana me saludaron con "todo bien señor? "Estar educado le dije que sí y luego me preguntó mi nombre. Habiendo confirmado quién era yo, me preguntó ¿podría escribir una buena crítica esta vez como había disfrutado, me explicó que no tenía exactamente lo disfrutamos y señaló lo que creía que estaba equivocada. Me señaló que el pan utilizado para freír era tan finas que fue quemado. Cuando se intenta cortar, voló fuera de la placa. Habiendo tenido un pedazo de pan con que, en vez de estar en una placa lateral era simplemente tirado en la parte superior del desayuno no se disculpó, pero me dijeron que no vienen, ya que wa no bienvenidos. Our second visit and what a lovely CLEAN place to eat that wont break the bank. I can see us (She who must be obeyed) becoming "regulars" - Good wholesome served with a smile.

The coffee is one of the best I have had around here...the cafe is clean & tidy In a lovely little location & staff are really friendly...my meal was freshly cooked & very tasty ...would definitely visit again 🤗

La primera vez que vine aquí, mi amigo decía que había que probarlo y yo pedimos la hamburguesa doble con patatas fritas y capuchino la comida y la bebida tienen nada que criticar con ambiente relajado y agradable servicio y sin duda regresaremos. No entiendo los comentarios mal quizás hay demasiado quisquilloso!

Visité 30 minutos. después de la apertura y gestión de asado theyhad anuncian pollo. Segunda visita pedí una tortilla de champiñones y jamón y me dieron un panqueque doblado con piezas de jamón y champiñones dentro. Tercera visita que tuve con curry de patata chaqueta sirve en un plato pequeño con una pequeña porción de curry. No es exactamente una buena relación aquí. Todos los precios parecen ser las mismas y las porciones son muy pequeñas.

Intentó comer aquí hoy.. Esperamos a comprobar pago y pedir comida.. Así que no hay servicio de mesa. Sólo parecía estar en en un concurrido desayuno y que incluía el chef.. Es una pena porque parecía limpia y fresca, pero después de esperar 15 minutos...

Cafetería local bastante bueno. estaba impecablemente limpio y buen servicio. No puedes equivocarte realmente. buena selección de tentempiés y comidas. Agradable zona de estar, puerta de salida

Had bacon baguette and chips, baguette was nice, fresh and crusty, plenty of bacon in it & chips were proper home made style. Coffee was good to.Nice clean place, tables wiped down after every customer, Good little cafe in an interesting little shopping mall.

I went here with my family and was surprised at the prices given its a cafe in a shopping centre.The portions were small, the small omelette was microwaved, the panini had hardly any filling and the side salad was really just a garnish. The portions seem ideal for the local pensioners who go there to eat, but I do feel they are being ripped off by these prices. Guess it's because there are no other cafes nearby.

I visited here on a Wednesday afternoon back in February. I only stopped by with a friend to have a coffee and a panini as we had just been for a business meeting. We were given a lovely warm welcome by the staff and served pretty much instantly. Our paninis come out shortly after ordering and they were cooked to perfection! Normally they can be slightly undercooked or overlooked in other cafe's! The waitress Emma was very lovely and polite and we were able to have a conversation about work and she made us feel very welcome. I honestly would recommend trying this gorgeous little café if you're popping by on a late afternoon and fancy a cup of coffee and sandwich! :)

I visit this cafe most weeks whilst working in the area, the food is lovely, the staff are very friendly and courteous and have a great selection of choice, they cater for any generation and always see kids in here enjoying the food aswell with no growls because of how loud they may become, I would recommend this cafe to anyone, and the price is not bad either, I would be surprised if anyone ever had a complaint to give. This is a very busy, friendly cafe at The Triangle shopping centre in Frinton, with many regular customers, of all ages. Sometimes they're so busy I have to share a table, which I don't mind (depending who I sit with!!). The regular customers and waitresses are very friendly, but as you can imagine, when it's extra busy, they can sometimes be under pressure. Also, sometimes people expect food to be served too quickly.I love the bacon and egg baguettes. If you like hot chocolate, try the deluxe one with spray cream and sprinkles.

Have been here numerous times. Waitress never smiles. I always take my own diet drink to a cafe because the selection is so poor. She told me 'you can't drink that here, it's the same everywhere' which is utter cr*p as I've always taken my own drink to accompany a meal & never had an issue. Other than that, food was good. They just need to remember the saying 'service with a smile'!

Went to this cafe with my friends at lunchtime. My friend bought a coffee and we went to sit outside, but the waitress told us we can't sit in the cafe or outside because they need "room for lunch time customers" so we had to leave. The cafe was empty. They are clearly prejudice against young people. What did they think we would do? Smash the plates? Turn over the tables? No, we just wanted somewhere to drink coffee. I've been to this cafe before with family and only ordered drinks, and they never had a problem despite it being busy then. They just hate young people.

Had a lunch here, with my Mum. Decor is clean and simple, serving uncomplicated food very well. We ordered 2 x jacket potatoes, fillings were plentiful, accompanied by 'fresh' looking salad. All very tasty.
